  1. Loved this episode. Thought all the pairings between the younger and older cast were done well, especially George and Sheldon. I love when we see that under it all, Sheldon is still just a little kid. That ending in the BBT cafeteria was perfect!
  2. This is my hope. That marriage was such a mess from all sides, and the only truly innocent people in the situation were William and Harry. I would be disappointed if they showed it as "one was good, the other evil" as it's clear the situation was more complicated then that.
  3. Imelda Staunton will play the Queen in the 5th and final season of The Crown.
  4. I didn’t think of that, but it’s surprising they didn’t mention Nate’s hemophilia even just in passing, with regards to Alexei being hemophiliac, especially since it played so heavily into their eventual demises. I must say, as someone who knows a lot about the fall of the Romanovs they got a lot of the background right. I was actually watching the old animated Anastasia movie over the weekend and the historical inaccuracies and inconsistencies in it were just infuriating. Interesting premise and enjoyed the dynamic or having a camera crew along for the madness. Looks like we will still have Zari playing a role, but I like Behrad. He did seem a bit “douchey” at first when talking to the cameras, I was even thinking “We lost Zari for him?” but he seemed more toned down and I really liked his scenes with Sara and Nate. Really, it just was great to have the show back. Loved the taste last week with the crossover, but it was great seeing it the whole crew playing off each other. Think we have an interesting set-up with different villains from throughout history being brought back.
  5. Am I the only one who thinks Ben might not have been such an”oops” baby as it might seem? That maybe Carol was trying to get pregnant before she left Ross? Carol and Susan just go all in on “our baby” and I know it’s TV, but it seems so quick and easily accepted that, “yeah we just moved in together but are raising this child from a precious marriage together.”
  6. I think you underplay the impact of Carol cheating on and dumping him. I think that caused a lot of his trust issues. How could it not, when you find out the person you wanted to spend your life with cheated on you and is leaving you for that person? Also; you mention the times he cheats on women with Rachel. What about Rachel's part in that? She only ever goes after Ross when he's with other women... I mean she goes to London intending to tell him she loves him on his wedding day to Emily! It takes two to tango, after all, and it's not like she didn't know he was involved with another woman...
  7. Yet she famously talks about how there were 3 in a marriage so it was crowded when she was apparently willing to “crowd” someone else’s marriage. That hypocrisy will never not bug me. Wouldn’t be cheated on make you all the more hesitant to do that to someone else’s marriage?
  8. Yeah, I was going to say those comments about him “being all over her” doesn’t sound like Charles at all from what I’ve read, seen and heard about him.
  9. Right? I’m a city girl, born in Chicago and grew up in Minneapolis, but I hate how anything not NYC, LA, or sometimes Chicago is portrayed as Hicksville. Even growing up in Minneapolis, with a major University, museums and cultural institutions, I can’t tell you how often I would get “Oh, yah, U betcha!” when telling people where I was from.
  10. That has to be the most unpleasant holiday episodes of a show I have ever seen. They know the show is ending, why not send it out with a sweet holiday episode. Why couldn’t they focus on the fact it’s the first Christmas for the twins and have the family working together to make it extra special and overcoming challenges to their Christmas plans? That would have been a sweet and poignant last Christmas episode. Instead we have an episode filled with arguing, secrets being kept and just unpleasantness all around. Man, I know it’s been a common complaint that the show has gone downhill but the fact that they couldn’t plan a decent final holiday episode just spotlights how they are limping to the finish line.
  11. Surely, though, those buildings would still be kept up as historical sites either way, with or without a monarchy? It would be a crime to let all that history just waste away.
  12. People are reading a lot into the Peloton ad, according to this CNN piece...
  13. I definitely blame the Dark Knight Trilogy and it’s success for ruining DC movies. In what I call “The Dark Knight Effect,” they saw the success they had with taking the Batman franchise in a dark and gritty, more realistic direction and said, “This worked! Dark and gritty for all!” Problem is; dark and gritty doesn’t work for all of DC’s heroes. It’s only been after they got away from that, beginning with Wonder Woman and keeping it going with Aquaman and Shazam that they’ve been making enjoyable films again. As for TV antiheroes, I hate how their badness is excused a lot of the time, often by a tragic backstory. The worst for me will be Regina from Once Upon a Time. A mass murderer who tears an entire people from their homeland, separating families, wiping their memories and keeping them enslaved for 28 years. Oh, and did I mention she tried to have a baby killed THE DAY THEY WERE BORN? All because her mom killed her boyfriend to stop them from running off and eloping. It’s like, I get that’s sad, but many people go through worse tragedy without becoming murderers Regina...
  14. Poor little guy! Felt so bad for Todd! Flanders seemed needlessly cruel disowning Todd and throwing him out of the house. That’s very much out of character for him. I’m glad they did this, even though, like others have mentioned, it feels a bit past time for them to be exploring the new effects of losing Maude when it happened 20 seasons ago.
  15. DeeDee uses keeping it real like people who say they are ”just telling it like it is” to justify being rude/a jerk.
  16. Totally in agreement! I’m white and if my sister was acting like DeeDee was I would have had words with her as well. Situational awareness and knowing how to act properly in different settings is part of being an adult.
  17. I think the monarchy will survive. Continuing will be an adjustment, for sure, but I think with changes the monarchy will survive. Hearing about Charles' plans to shrink down the number of "working royals" for example, reflects to me he understands the family must change with the times. I would also argue the British monarchy has undergone bigger challenges in the not too distant past. The Hanoverian dynasty was seen as decadent and embarrassing by the time Victoria came to the throne. She was dragged for retreating from public life after Albert's death. Edward VII was involved in scandals, even named in a divorce suit. The whole abdication thing. The social changes in the last half of the 1900s. In regards to Charles' scandals, I think enough distance has passed that people see Charles as more then his scandals. I see him being mentioned more for his charities then any of that. It also doesn't hurt that he probably won't be king for an extended period, due to his age, and he has an heir(William) people are fond of. Even if they hate Charles, people are not going to take the monarchy from Princess Diana's son and grandchildren. All that being said, I have no idea what would happen to properties if the monarchy was ever abolished. The assets would probably be assumed by the government, what isn't owned by the Windsor family that is. Buckingham Palace and other sites would probably be made into protected historical sites.
  18. Right? Dude, you are saying that texts are hackable, yet you are doing that simulation in a VR device RUN BY THE PERSON YOU ARE INVESTIGATING!
  19. So Obsidian is basically what if the OASIS from "Ready Player One" was run by evil people? Real original, show... Part of what annoys me about the storyline is that it has the main character coming off as technophobic when we see her using advanced technology all the time and Kara is in an age-range where most are really into tech innovations and people are adept at and interested in integrating new technologies into their lives. Really liked Brainy under control by that parasite. Jesse Rath has range.
  20. I was just telling someone my last year of trick-or-treating was in 2001, right after the 9/11 attacks, and I remember a whole bunch of rumors about terrorists and candy. I actually knew someone whose mom wouldn't let her trick-or-treat since they had a lot of Muslim neighbors.
  21. Junior actually didn’t bother me this episode. Devante deserves parents who are involved in his life and want to spend time with him. Forgetting they have a young child is not okay and all Junior was doing was reminding them of their responsibilities. I also wasn’t buying what Ruby was saying. Yeah, family should step up and help out, but parents have a responsibility to their kids and shouldn’t rely on others to pick up their slack. It’s not up to Junior to raise his little brother because his parents can’t be bothered.
  22. Um... they did use him. Second to last, before OJ. Good episode. I like that they are taking advantage of these firsts (like first Halloween) off the commune since it lends itself to different stories then most shows can do. First encounters with holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas can be fun told in interesting ways.
