  1. It's been a long time since Sam holds it against anybody, for better or for worse. He forgives instantly nowadays (unfortunately) and has no problem being forced to work with enemies. It looks like it's heading down the 'Sam misguided, Dean voice of reason' track.
  2. I don't see Sam's remark as a dig at Dean anymore then Dean's remarks in the past when he tried to downplay Sam's rightful anger at John was a dig at Sam. Not sure about John usurping Dean's identity. They both loved to hunt and shared the same goals. Sam was the odd man out and I'm glad he had the courage to rebel. Wish he could do the same with Mary. Finally, Sam is allowed to express some understated disappointment with Mary. If he hadn't said that, I would have thought he was on tranquilizers. He does have feelings, yay! As for the rest, I am not interested in the Rowena/Crowley'Gavin family business. And it feels like the whole Lucifer baby angle has nothing to do with the Winchesters. So I don't care.
  3. The final scene reminded me of that one in that dijn episode. Both times. Dean had the chance to forget about his problems and retreat either into a fantasy world or blissful oblivion. Sam this time seemed a bit regretful he didn't have the luxury. He had to bear the burden of remembering in both episodes. It's quite sad especially when you want to forget.
  4. I am shocked that you hate Swan Song! Positively shocked, I tell you! You've been so reticent about that episode which cannot be named .... I would have agreed absolutely 100% with you except for what happened before (season 4 finale). Were Sam and Dean seen as equal screw-ups? Did Dean release Lucifer? Did the season five opener have Sam castigating Dean for being tricked by the angels? Sam needed that extra glory. No thanks. Firstly, Dean had already been to hell. It would have been way overkill for him to go a second time. Secondly, how can you call it redemption for Sam when he pulls Dean into hell for more suffering? That would have been another big mistake for Sam. Thirdly, why should Dean fall into the hole with Sam? Sam didn't accompany Dean to hell the first time. He didn't follow Dean to purgatory. Funny how when the show did start, Sam was wrong on every issue. Now, could Dean have been given more to do in Swan Song? Sure, of course, just like Sam could have done more in the Amara finale. I can't handle more Dean man pain myself. That's the problem with having Dean carry the emotional arc. Just like some have had enough of Sam/mytharc, I've had enough of Dean/emo. Going by that reasoning, I guess Sam was a zero in the Amara finale. He was too weak and pathetic to face Amara, huh? Dean saved the day, not familial love. So we're even now.
  5. It's up to the kicker to make the first move, not the one being kicked out in the middle of the night. John could have picked up the phone. Dean could have done the same. They were all adults,
  6. Is this the annual Samcentric episode I've been waiting for? Hope so. Please let Sam be smart and competent and badass. No more Samsel in distress. I like the Alpha Vamp too.
  7. All the more, Sam should be the one wanting Mary to hand him some nurturing pie or sandwiches. How exactly is Mary filling up the hole in his life when she is so distant? Differing expectations - it's like he has no expectations from her. I know, I know, all the emotion is bubbling up inside and one day will burst out (I hope before the season is over) but I do agree that we are in fanwank territory. I never thought Dean was waiting for mommy to be Suzy Homemaker, I just took it as Dean worried about Mary's safety and Sam's remark as just shorthand for saying that can't be helped since Mary will insist on hunting anyway and won't dream of quitting and being safer at home.
  8. On thinking things over, just keep the titles as Moose and Squirrel. This maintains the light-hearted tone and they match. I don't want the title to be so super serious and worshipful. This is not the new imdb so I don't want to bring in titles from there. Why should we change when the titles were never meant to be a serious description of either Sam or Dean anyway? They were more an inside joke. I just want to say the titles were never meant to be about 'respect'. We respect both Sam and Dean here even if we have our favourites, OK? I actually liked Moose (made me giggle) so Dean's title need to match this and be equally giggle-worthy.
  9. I wish the writers would start digging below the surface. Why pretend to be so zen then? Let loose and get upset like Dean is allowed to do. And he did make the first step by showing her John's journal so it's Mary's turn now.
  10. Maybe Dean understands that 'baking cookies' is just shorthand for 'conventional'. Many years ago, Hillary Clinton said she would never be the baking cookies type and several stay-at-home mums got on her case thinking she was insulting them. But I knew what she meant. She wasn't implying other women only baked cookies and did nothing else. "Mom, I don't want you to run for President/climb Mount Everest/ be an aid worker in Afghanistan!" "Look, son, I'm not the staying home baking cookies type!" Sam was just saying Mary would never go for a conventional 9 to 5 safe job. I doubt he thinks there are only two jobs Mary can do. Puzzled also why Mary does not bother to contact Sam and why she seems so distant and disinterested in her sons. And I agree that Sam is unbelievably zen about everything. Is he allowed to get upset and angry like Dean? Is he allowed to have conflicted feelings about Mary or Cas?
  11. My top five (in no particular order) - Santa Ana Winds, Let's Have Intercourse, We Tapped That Ass (all three have funny lyrics and good dancing) plus Shit Storm and Math of Love Triangle.
  12. Dresses start to look the same to me after a while. I saw a Say Yes to the Dress spinoff about bigger brides and it's the same strapless look and same designs as seen on other shows. I don't want to fat shame those bigger brides but please, cover up those fat flabby batwing upper arms. Is there anything wrong with sleeves? Seriously. Those bigger brides and their entourage will be oohing and ahhing over some strapless gown and it just looks like the bride wrapped her bedsheets around her body.
  13. Island for two, please. Judging from the comments on the youtube clip of Let's Have Intercourse, I'm not the only one who loves Nathaniel on the show. I think he does have genuine feelings for Rebecca but hides it under a layer of douchbaggery. I find Nathaniel a refreshing change from the lineup of nice but somewhat needy wishy washy men on the show from Josh to Greg to Daryl to Scott. I loved the intercourse song and wow, Rachel can really dance. Also loved the fifties vibe of the Devil Winds song and I heard the singer was really on Jersey Boys. He seemed to be enjoying himself. A little goes a long way when it comes to the office staff, however. George can go now. Paula should not have taken Scott back. Everyone's made mistakes? Sorry, adultery is not an ordinary mistake.
  14. Usually we get just one truly Samcentric episode per season and so far, no sign of one this season. I think the Mary story is skewing Deancentric already and this after the Deancentric Amara story.
  15. The editors at your newspaper never make any mistake? I work for a newspaper and I've said it once or twice and my boss too. This is after finding we made some major mistake that we cannot allow to go to print.
  16. I don't mind Giuliana, Brad and Melissa. At least, they go straight to the fashion critique. I thought G's floral gown at the live red carpet event was lovely. I can't stand Margaret always comparing gowns to private parts and Nene's 'girl, I'm looking at you' shtick. Tiresome and time wasting. Instead of the stupid games, have interesting segments like 'Colour of the Night' or 'Best in Cutouts' or 'Best Cleavage/ Necklace/Hair'.
  17. Am I the only one who finds the new boss hot? I don't blame Rebecca for being attracted to him. He won't go for Paula. His kind goes for the Ivanka Trump types.
  18. I agree. I don't know what he was waiting for. I guess this was his last chance to make a mark on this issue. Some critics have said he could have done more than just abstained like actually voted to condemn like the 14 other nations.
  19. Good for Obama finally showing his impatience with Israel and allowing the UN resolution to go through.
  20. There are any number of fan sites on the internet where Sam is the abusive monster and Dean is compared to Jesus Christ. I'm sure you know where they are. I hope this site isn't going to turn into TWOP. Now that site was populated with very dedicated fans who thought Sam was the most abusive monster while noble Dean practically wore a halo. I remember the mod there had to shut down the Brotherly Bonds thread for good since it had become all about how horrible Sam was to Dean and the mod got fed up reading the same old stuff every day.
  21. I couldn't care less about any redemption considering Dean with all his mistakes, flaws and arrogance is still standing on high ground and apparently, doesn't need redemption in the first place. Because he's always right while Sam gets blamed and blasted by Dean, horsemen and other hunters. We saw Sam blame himself and that's good enough for me. Sam's flaws merely make him easier to relate to, in my eyes. Who doesn't want to be saviour of the world? I understand this far more than him doing it because he's so noble and pure.
  22. No, it wasn't. Ruby as far as Sam knows, was not in cahoots with Alastair or other demons. She had saved Dean before back in s3 and she appeared to have a legitimate beef with Lilith. Didn't Ruby tell Sam she herself was tortured in hell before escaping? So she was apparently a victim of torture just like Dean. She produced concrete results, helped Sam save demon-possessed people and appeared to be a lone operator. I disliked how Sam's complex motivations were distilled down to one line like that. Sam is entitled to follow his own strategy without being accused of the sin of not putting Dean first. Funnily enough, the reason he was so messed up in the first place was because Dean was first in his heart leading to a vulnerability after Dean's death that Ruby exploited. So it's all one big circle. How come when Dean was trusting the angels and following his own strategy he's never accused of putting them first before Sam? It seems it all boils down to who's right and who's wrong and Sam always has to be wrong. Breaking the seals - of course, Dean broke the seal for a 'good' reason while Sam broke the seal because of his 'arrogance'. How can anyone blame Dean when there is a built-in sympathetic reason for Dean's actions? Consequences - I agree Dean's actions have limited consequences because they affect only Sam and himself while Sam's actions threaten the whole world. Won't argue with that. Dean gets off lightly here. Arrogance - I don't mind the so-called arrogance in Sam because it's a very human and relatable flaw and I don't need Sam to get rid of this flaw completely. It actually helps me to sympathise even more when this flaw leads to epic mistakes and the eating of humble pie. It's Dean's flaws that irritate the heck out of me. Compromise - After 200 or more episodes, I can point out many times when Sam did just that while just as many times, Dean went ahead with his plans insisting he was right and not listening to objections.
  23. Neither did I have an issue with Sam not looking. He thought Dean was dead and tried to move on in a mature way by not trying to make any stupid demon deals. Yet it seemed the writers actually disapproved of this maturity by throwing the Kevin issue back at his face and implying he was trying to hide away in a fantasy world like that old man (Mike Farrell). Sam's reaction after Dean returned muddied things a bit for me. I thought he had done something on the sly after all to get Dean back and was feeling guilty. I don't know if the writers were planning a twist and just gave up after the Amelia backlash. Now Dean's reaction I could have done without. He and Sam made a deal not to look for each other so why is it so bad that Sam honoured that deal? Why have Dean and Bobby pick at that scab? Why couldn't Dean just be glad Sam was able (on the surface) to move on despite his sorrow and found someone (Amelia) to help him? Dean could count on Lisa as a refuge yet I felt Dean seemed rather cool towards Amelia. I disliked the Benny the Better Brother angle too. Any other season there would have been nothing to argue about, just 'Bye, Benny. Thanks and see you around!' If Sam was too overly suspicious, Dean was a bit too trusting, he the same person who killed Amy.
  24. So this is the end for Hillary? Or is she contemplating trying again for the presidency in 4 years' time? Will Trump hand her a consolation post? She did hint she was willing to work together with Trump. And why didn't she appear before her crying supporters at the glass ceiling centre? Was she having a mini breakdown and couldn't face them?
