  1. Ugh. Looks like we are going to be stuck with this stupid story arc of will Darlene have a baby or not. The only reason she has given so far of wanting to have a baby with Ben is that he is the hottest guy she has ever dated. And Ben's is that he wants to have a baby who is just like Little Bev. At the moment, both of Darlene's kids are more mature than either Darlene or Ben. Please writers, make it stop! I had no idea that was Jennifer Gray. When she had her nose done way back when, she lost what made her distinctive and beautiful. She is still pretty, but not unique.
  2. That happens quite often though in these shows where the boyfriend is a suspect, and they show his picture. Sometimes he ends up being interviewed for the show, but not always. Sometimes they even focus on some random guy, picture included, who as it turns out has nothing to do with the murder. I often wonder about those cases, where someone innocent who does not even know the victim gets dragged into the story, complete with name and picture. I did though give the side eye to the boyfriend, not because I thought he did it, but because he was professing to love the victim, who he fought with because he had his tongue down another female's throat. And it sounds like it was not an unusual occurrence. Why do some women put up with that behaviour? On this forum we often comment on the randomness of these murders - at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  3. If either or both of the kids were hidden away in a compound somewhere, Lori could still produce them. Or at the very least have a picture taken of the kid(s) holding a current newspaper to show they are alive and well. Or are you saying they could have been taken against Lori's will? If so why would she not have reported them missing, rather than lie continually about where they are? The info in the affidavit posted above is quite damning. She claimed JJ was with his grandmother, until she was told that it was the grandmother who reported him missing. She then told authorities he was with a friend of hers, then asked the friend to lie, which the friend refused to do. She was found to be in possession of both kids' birth certificates, JJ's Ipad and Tylee's bank card. Chad told some of his relatives that Lori was an empty nester, and others that she had no minor children. And she lied about home schooling JJ, since there is no evidence of that. I hope the state where she will be tried has the death penalty.
  4. Ha, I was just going to post something similar about the discussion on the Conner's forum. I actually didn't mind the plot around Jill wanting a baby, other than springing it on her boyfriend, like Darlene Conner's boyfriend sprung wanting a baby on her. It is an ongoing story line with Jill. My beef with this episode was Christy also thinking about freezing her eggs. She is in her 40s, has two kids that she doesn't see now, and is in school to become a lawyer. WTF writers? As some of us posted in the Conner forum, why is it that women are supposed to want kids no matter what their age is, or life circumstances? Just ridiculous, and lazy writing here as it was in the Conner episode. My fav line in this episode was Jill saying that she is 40 years and 18 months. It reminded me of some parents of young children who will give their kids ages in months, well past the age of two. "My son is 38 months old". Sheesh.
  5. While I don't like the name Bev, adding, "little" every time they refer to the baby is irritating. My hubby has a nephew who is named after his dad, The dad is Jim, and son is Jimmy. But his whole life he has been referred to as Little Jimmy. He is a 40 year old husband and father, and his family still calls him that. I am sure that TPTB would never have gone for Rosie - no matter how much that actually would have made sense. But pretty much any other name would have been better. Heck, Conner Conner would have been an improvement - lol.
  6. I think the white colour ages Sharon. I actually didn't know how old she was, and was shocked to see that she is only 67. I always thought she was older, and this new colour (or her real colour - whatever) definitely makes her look older than 67. I was disappointed in yesterday's show, that they let Wendy Williams off so easily. Yes, they should have talked about the victim as well, but the segment was supposed to be about William's vile comment. I remember the last time they discussed something that she said, and Sharon said that she should be doing a late night talk show instead of day time. Which was a stupid comment, and I think even the others that pointed out. In any case they dropped the ball on that segment.
  7. So we are to believe that after Ben spends a short time with Little Bev (hate hate hate that name) he suddenly wants a baby, something that he has never mentioned to Darlene before? I wouldn't let him adopt a pet, let alone entertain having a kid with someone who apparently thinks parenthood should happen on a whim. I hate it when sitcom writers think that it is entertaining for 40 something women to be written as continuing to have children, no matter what their circumstances are. I have stopped watching sitcoms when a baby has been written into the show, including Modern Family when senior citizen Jay Pritchard became a father again, and Blackish when Bow had another kid. It is lazy writing, IMO. If the writers continue down this road (even talking about the possibility) it may be enough for me to turn the channel.
  8. I loved that the instructor's name was Citrus. And that Jocelyn was sad that she could not wear the work out clothes she bought at "lululime". This show has the best throw away lines!
  9. Wow, that is so bizarre. April didn't meet Lori until 2016, but three years before it seems like her ex (at least according to April) was talking about similar "end of the world" scenarios? I couldn't find much more when I googled either other than it seems the hospital injected her ex with drugs that they should not have. Would love to know more about April though if you have more info Leilani!
  10. Just when you think you have seen an episode that can't be topped with regards to WTH moments and people getting away with murder, another one comes along. Keith wasn't kidding when he said you would need a score card (or however he put it) to keep track. I would bet that Lori's 3rd husband was murdered as well. I think they said he died of a heart attack, but he looked pretty young and fit in the pic they showed. I know it happens, but I bet if he died of a heart attack that he had some help. I wonder what happened to the first two husbands? Like others I don't know why Lori is not in jail. Why is law enforcement being so lenient with her? Shouldn't she have to prove that JJ is in school somewhere? Even if she were to claim that he was being home schooled somewhere, doesn't he still have to be registered for that? Mind boggling. Like Mondrianyone, I have being wondering about WALNUTQUEEN. The last time she posted on any forum was January 19th, which is definitely concerning. : (
  11. I will admit that I stopped watching the show before the end of the original run, so did not know that about the finale. Interesting. I am watching some of the reruns now, but tend to watch the earlier seasons as I think they were funnier. I am in Canada so a Canadian network has been showing the reboot, but just two episodes a week. Otherwise I would not have been able to see it either. I don't remember if Fran was brought up or not, since I have been watching the season spread out over several weeks. Regarding what others have brought up about Mabel - I have never bought that this is Paul and Jamie's kid. She looks nothing like either of them (not that that can't happen, but since the show could cast pretty much anyone, why not make her believable?). I didn't like Mabel from the start, but really disliked her in the episode where she was happy for her classmates to think Paul was some misogynistic jerk, rather than her loving and supportive father. There are no words to accurately describe how little use I have for Mabel.
  12. Loved this episode - June and Connie were a hoot together. And I love any episode that has Georgie and Missy, so loved a story line with them together. Like others here I hated group projects in school. Actually I didn't mind them if we were allowed to pick our own groups, as I would pick friends who had the same work ethic as I did. I do remember once though when a teacher picked the groups, and I ended up in a group with slackers who I knew would do nothing, but would end up getting the same grade as I did while I did all the work. I told the teacher this, and she actually let me do my own project. So it isn't always about group projects teaching you how to get along, but knowing that there are those who will take advantage, and not letting them do it - lol.
  13. Paul and Jamie were having a conversation about what bothers them about the other person. It stemmed from them both saying that they enjoyed the time apart from each other when Paul stayed at Anderson's apartment (for Lisa who was fish sitting at Anderson's). Paul said he didn't want to tell Jamie that he enjoyed the time apart as he didn't want to hurt her feelings. Jamie said that it wouldn't hurt her feelings, and they should be able to tell each other what bothers them about the other person. They each gave each other an example or two. Paul then said that Jamie is often short with him, short with other people, and that he has had to do a lot of damage control over the years. He then went into more depth, and Paul's rant where Jamie didn't talk at all went on for about 2 minutes. It ended with Paul telling her that when Mabel was 5 and cut her lip on the kitchen counter, and Jamie thought it was her fault, Paul told her it wasn't. But he really wasn't sure that it wasn't her fault, and to this day wasn't sure that it wasn't her fault. Then he saw the look of hurt on Jamie's face, got tears in his eyes and says "OK, now what" with his voice faltering. In the next shot they are at the marriage counselor's office. I think this scene hit home for me as Jamie and Paul are a lot like my hubby and me. He is a nicer person than I am, and I am more direct and to the point. But I also know that many times he likes that about me, and likes that it doesn't bother me to be the "bad cop" in situations that involve us both, because he gets to be the "good cop" even though he agrees with me. I think (though I know they are fictional characters) that Paul has liked that with regards to Jamie as well. So you have to take the good with the bad. In the same vein, while sometimes I love my hubby's kindness, other times I think he is kind to people who don't deserve it. Good with the bad, once again.
  14. The final two episodes aired last night on the network where I am able to see the reboot. I thoroughly enjoyed the reboot and hope that another season follows. The best part of another season would (hopefully) be no Mabel. I did not like the character or the actress playing her. Loved the rest of the cast - the oldies and the newbies. I found the fight between Jamie and Paul at the end of the "Anderson Cooper and Other Fantasies" episode to be riveting. Helen Hunt's reaction to Paul's rant was heart breaking, as was Reiser's acting when Paul realizes that maybe he went too far. I found that scene to be very moving.
  15. I watched the East Coast live show, and didn't realize (though it makes sense) that the cast would be doing a second show. I was in the middle of taping that one but deleted it not knowing it would be a second performance. I would have watched the second episode as well just to see the differences. And if Sara Gilbert fixed her flub from the first performance (which I assume she did).
  16. I loved it, and thought all the cast did a great job! I particularly thought the actor who plays Mark was a stand out. It seemed like he had the most lines, and was flawless. The only flub I saw was from Sara Gilbert. Early on in the kitchen when Harris came in, and wanted to be able to use Mark's laptop because hers was broken, Darlene said "Just because you think he is a dork doesn't mean he shouldn't have your laptop". Obviously the line should have been something along the lines of "Just because you think he is a dork doesn't mean you should have his laptop". I thought it totally was like a play with cameras, and enjoyed it immensely. I know others shows have done this, and I particularly remember Hot in Cleveland doing it years ago, and thought their episode was really well done as well.
  17. Ditto. I personally don't know anyone who had a problem with it. The speech was also the topic this morning on a local radio talk show, specifically the part to do with how animals as sentient beings are often treated. The entire call in show was devoted to the topic, and for that I give Joaquin a standing O. I didn't mind Renee's speech either, but did find hers to be a bit rambling. Joaquin's? Not at all.
  18. Dan Levy didn't write this episode. But it is hardly a stretch to think that David would have a skin care regimen that would keep his skin soft. Hungry hippo Patrick was hysterical. And like others, I really hope that the show doesn't go in the direction of David changing his mind about children. Many couples choose not to have children (even when there is one partner who always thought they would have them) and are perfectly happy. I also know couples who had children and wished they hadn't. Not everyone IRL, or on TV, needs to have children to be happy. My fav line in the whole episode was Johnny saying that after Larry Air called him for a reference regarding Stevie, then asked if he was interested in becoming a pilot. It was just as funny as last week's line that Larry Air has 20 (I think it was) lawsuits against it, including one from Larry himself. This episode was so funny, that by the end watching stoned David and Patrick reacting to the crows, I had tears from laughing so hard.
  19. You are far too kind. Unless David lives to 110, he passed middle age a decade ago. In fact at 55, isn't he eligible for a senior's discount in many places? That should come in handy as he forks out money to raise Lesley's two young kids. David reminds me of one of my hubby's partners. (And the story is not unusual of course). Divorced his first wife (had two kids with her) for a hot young thing. Had two kids with her. She left him when he got too old for her. He is now in his early 70s and will have to work til he dies, as all his money has gone pretty much to divorce buyouts/alimony/child support. Should start a pool on how long this relationship of David's will last.
  20. I remember Jessie saying that she was surprised to hear Annette say this, as while Jessie knew Corey, she did not know that Annette and Corey were in a relationship. Interesting that Jessie's mom let Jessie stay at the home where the woman who had an affair with her husband was living, But I guess it would not be fair to punish Jessie for something her step father did. I assume that Jessie did not know that Annette had been sleeping with her step father?
  21. The quote contributed to Ohmo is actually mine, and I agree.
  22. Oh, I didn't mean to imply that I didn't believe Jessica's story. I did. I didn't necessarily believe what Annette said. But I agree that the fact that she was at his house, admittedly, is suspicious. And wanting to help the police. I still think it is amazing that she went with the SIL, and the SIL apparently has kept the secret all these years. I do still wonder if someone else killed him on Annette's behalf. That fact that she said she didn't mean to kill him is odd, considering she took a baseball bat to him as he was sleeping. Did someone imply that Jessica's mother planted the story? I don't remember it from the show, but that certainly would make no sense, given that Jessica's mother herself is the one who did not pursue it. I think the prosecutors are very lucky that they got a conviction and not a second hung jury.
  23. Yep, grew up in a small town in Ontario - pop 1200. After college I moved thousands of miles away to B.C. A few years after I moved, I was home for Xmas and in the liquor store picking up wine for dinner. There were two other people there, the clerk and another customer. The customer asked the clerk who I was. I was two isles away. The clerk (who I did not know but knew of his family) proceeded to tell the customer my name, that I was so-and-so's younger sister, that I was home for Christmas and the city where I lived in B.C. I'm surprised that he didn't know what day I was leaving and on what flight. My fav story though of my small town was of two couples whose children had married and were expecting their first child. This was before cell phones. So the one grandparent knew his daughter was in labour and went for a walk. Meanwhile the other set of parents got the news that the baby had been born. They shared the news with neighbours. By the time the grandparent on the walk got home, he had already been told by someone he met on the street that his grandchild had arrived. Lol. Does anyone remember what was said about the hair in Corey's hands? Was it lost over the years? I am surprised given Annette's self described life style of hard drinking, that she did not confess to someone over the years. Still not convinced that it was her, and not one of the other many women Corey was sleeping with. Or one of their boyfriends or husbands.
  24. I thought the same thing - there had to be more info that what Dateline was reporting. Quite often in these cases where I am wondering how someone did or did not get convicted, I google the case and find out all kinds of info left out of the Dateline episode. In this case? I didn't find one thing. Nada. I did have many questions though. Wasn't Annette living with the niece (and her family) who had Jessie there for a sleep over? Where was her own daughter who was a year older than Jessie? Did her kids live with their dad? Annette seemed to have a lot of time to get drunk and have sex frequently with a variety of men. Annette must have been pretty drunk to be crying and confessing to murder, knowing their were two 9 year kids upstairs who could hear her. Or did she forget they were there? Like others I am wondering why the evidence was not tested. I thought for sure when the first trial was a hung jury, that the prosecutors would test the hairs found in Corey's hand. Were they not still around? That didn't seem clear to me. In any case I don't think I could have convicted Annette based on the testimony of Jessie, with no other evidence at all. And if she was with the sis in law when she killed Corey, would there not have been blood all over the sis in law's car? Why would the sis in law go for years covering for Annette? Hard to keep secrets for years in a small town where everyone knows everyone. Though I guess if it was someone other than Annette, that secret has been kept. So much just doesn't seem plausible to me, in any case. I also wondered about the 4th woman talked about, who was having sex with Corey (after his live in fiance, Annette, and Wendy) She was supposedly was pregnant by Corey. Why would the grandparents not have had a relationship with that grandchild? Maybe it turned out that he wasn't the father? So many unanswered questions....
  25. I doubt very much if the show not showing any "gay action" between Sol and Robert has anything to do with Sheen being uncomfortable. One if the first times I ever saw Martin Sheen act was 48 years ago when he and the wonderful Hal Holbrook played lovers in a 1972 TV movie called That Certain Summer. I was already a Holbrook fan, and became a Sheen fan after that movie. Sheen is also a supporter of gay rights IRL. I have always thought the Sol/Martin relationship is very true to life for people who have been together for years (even if they have only been out in public for a handful). They are affectionate with one another which is just fine with me. The writers may also be writing it that way because many watching are of their generation (or a generation younger like I am) and do not need to see constant kissing (and that includes Grace and Nick) to know they are in a relationship.
