  1. I am only able to see a couple of episodes a week, so have just watched the one where Jamie is going through menopause. While I am enjoying seeing Jamie, Paul and the old regulars again, I really really dislike Mabel. I would have been just fine with her going to some school far far away so she was not a part of the show every week. I know the purpose of having Mabel go to university and live in a dorm 5 blocks from home is for reasons of convenience, so she can be part of the show but not live with Jamie and Paul, but it is eye rolling for me. I know there are parents who will indulge their children and pay for them to live a few miles from home so the child can have the full "university experience", but it still bugs. Also, why did Jamie not work all these years? Because she has one kid? So right up until Mabel went to university Jamie needed to be at home FT? Another plot point that bugs. In the menopause episode, I was so annoyed that Mabel would not let Paul tell the class that he was Mabel's father. If that were me, I would have been proud to have my father there, and mortified that my classmates think he is some terrible person when he is not. Mabel really is a special snowflake. I wish she would melt away. OTOH, I love Paul's assistant. More of her, please.
  2. How ridiculous. The actor/actress is good enough to be nominated, but not important enough to have their own segment/announcement of winner and walk to the stage? But lets waste time asking JLo the name of the character Tom Cruise played in Jerry Maguire. SMH. The best part of the show so far for me has been Kelly Clarkson giving a shout out to Eugene Levy and Schitt's Creek. I think I'll go watch some reruns of SC, which would be far more entertaining that this clusterf**k of a show.
  3. That always gets me too. Not only the mundane decisions, but the fact that there is a predator there at the time the person has made this mundane decision. Though it isn't always true (but is pretty much always said) many of the victims are either beautiful, charismatic or both. In addition many are very sweet and trusting. After years of watching true crime shows I figure I am safe - average looking, an introvert, not particularly sweet (other than to animals) and a pessimist. Has kept me alive for 62 years now and counting...
  4. Funny, because I always think of that as Ken's schtick. Then look absurdly shocked that he got it right. He does it way too often for me to find it believable.
  5. And conversely, never assume that I am resting in peace just because my murderer has been brought to justice. I am still dead, and the POS may have had (as in this case) many years of freedom after taking my life away!
  6. Regarding Dateline not giving away the murderer, I guessed it was Schara as soon as they talked about the ex's lawyer calling the police from across the country to say that the wife suspected her ex. When they went so far as to show a pic of the wife, and then say that a friend of Schara's said she was an alcoholic and had problems. The original cop just said that they followed it as far as they could but could not get a warrant for DNA. Given the details that we found out later that cops had right from the start (or could have if they had pursed him) it seemed like they dropped the ball. But I did figure it was him early on. Dateline does that quite often where they will throw in what seems to be a red herring but turns out to be the killer. I thought this episode was true to form.
  7. The annoying thing is, they had his name early on, and DNA from the crime scene. The police didn't pursue him because they thought it was a disgruntled ex trying to frame him. I really didn't understand why he was not pursued when they got the original tip from his ex's lawyer. He had no alibi for the time, came home "wild" and with scratches on his hands, liked to choke his ex when they were having sex, gave her a music box that he said was from the store where Lisa worked, which was a town over from where they lived at the time of the murder. He told her the clerk was a gray haired old lady, but when it was followed up on many years later it was found there was no such clerk. That could have been proven to have been a lie right away. All of this info was available to the police early on, and they chose not to pursue it because a friend of Gary's told the police that the ex was an alcoholic and had problems. I guess DNA could be credited with solving the case in that it was used to narrow the characteristics of the killer, which put Schara on their radar again. And was a way to finally get a warrant for his DNA which they were not able to get back when the murder happened. (Even though many others were eliminated by providing their DNA). I agree that the ex was a hero for giving the cops Gary's name, even if it did take them decades to finally get him. It is too bad she didn't live to see him go to prison. BTW, I thought the DA looked just like the phenotype sketch.
  8. The only thing I got out of the whole 2 hours is that Gabe looks exactly like Kody did at his age. I hope for Gabe's sake he ages better than his dad. I actually think he is a nice looking teenager. Also when Gabe commented that all he kept doing when they were moving in was move one box from one place to another, I though to myself that that was the content of most of the episode. That, and the Browns once again complaining that they have no money. Because they continue to make bad decisions. Yawn.
  9. I hated the baby prison, and didn't like the one pitcher either. When they finally let the kid who was having the melt down out of prison, the woman claimed that the kid slept in it every night, and was only reacting to the set. Which made me wonder, if the product is to use when you are travelling and sleeping in strange rooms, why would the kid be sleeping it in at home in his own room? Why would you just not close the blinds and turn out the light? Unless I misunderstood her, I think she was lying. Also she made a big deal out of the fact that it folded into such a small size that it would qualify as a carry on on a plane. Why would any parent who carries so much for a kid as it is on a plane, waste a carry on item on that? Dumb product. The window screen pitch was so boring, and went on way too long. And really, how many houses are built with odd shaped windows? My house has a ton of windows of different sizes but I have never had a problem getting a screen for any of them. I was only half listening to the Fortress guy, but if the articles were to be worn underneath something else, what were the different coloured (and bulky looking) jackets that he had hanging at the front during the pitch? He was all over the place. Best line of the night was Mark saying that he would cry too if he had 8 kids. ITA Mark.
  10. I think they likely used herbal remedies. When I had menopause, I tried a couple of different prescription medications including hormonal cream. The side effects were worse than menopause. Then a co worker told me about a natural product called Meno. I bought it at the health food store, it came in capsules. I wish I could remember the ingredients, but one was black cohosh. In any case it took away every symptom of menopause that I had. I took it for several years, and it worked so well that I had no idea if I was still in menopause or not. So I stopped taking it and found out that I had finally come out of it.
  11. Actually Shannon said that she has near vision, and her near vision was blurry. I would get checked out too if I was hit on the head and my vision was blurry. I fact I recently was hit on the forehead by a steel door and ended up with a goose egg. I would have gone to get checked out had my vision gone blurry. In my case it didn't, and I wasn't been filmed by a reality TV show at a spa. It sounds like both wanted Shannon to get checked out, most likely for liability issues. In the clip shown above from Bravocon, I didn't think the crowd was pro Kelly at all. And I laughed when she said that Michael was jealous. Hmmm, more like they are not getting along because Michael is actually a decent father and does not like the way Kelly's insta relationship is showing Jolie how far down on the totem pole she is in her mother's priorities. Get engaged to a man that your daughter hasn't even met? What a loser. Kelly is also all over the place with her comments. She said in a podcast with Bronte (the one where she said she and Rick are practicing having a baby every day) that Rick is moving to OC. She also claims that Dorinda is begging to officiate the wedding, Dorinda says Kelly asked her. The woman can't keep her lies straight.
  12. ITA. I have always thought it strange that Emily works PT as an attorney. Even before she came on the show she had time for a "party planning" side business. Any attorney I know works long hours and does not have time for a side gig. My theory is that Shane became a lawyer because his mother hounded him into becoming one. I believe his sister is one as well? It isn't like he hasn't practiced, he was one in Utah. His mother made several comments in the first season about wanting Shane to pass the bar in California. I think he hasn't passed because he really has no interest in practicing law. (KInd of like JFK who became a lawyer not because he wanted to be one, but because his mother expected it). Emily has said that Shane does not have to work, but he does. Presumably at something he enjoys. So good on him I say,
  13. Don't leave out Kelly and Emily - they are just as deserving. After all, they are the two with self identified anger management problems. Lol.
  14. The best years of my life have been since I had a hysterectomy at age 36. I also went into early menopause because of it, so was done with that by 50. I was told that I would go into a depression because I was no longer able to have kids. Never wanted them before, didn't want them after. Lol. Many of my coworkers at the time had had hysterectomies - every single was was thrilled to no longer have periods. We called ourselves the "hyster sisters", and joked that if men got periods, hysterectomies would be elective surgery. So to me, having a period is nothing to brag about - it is nothing but an inconvenience! I saw an article where Kelly bragged a few days ago that she and Rick did not plan to have children, but they "practiced having a baby every day". That sounds painful. Lol. I still don't understand how someone who is a journalist can not be embarrassed by Kelly's inability to put a simple sentence together.
  15. I just googled, and apparently Kelly made the comment on WWHL, but made it in front of Rick's daughter Veronica (the one that I mentioned upthread is a social worker in NYC) who was in the audience. The comment didn't even make sense as Elizabeth Perkins asked Kelly if her ring was bigger than Vicki's, and Kelly answered that she was sure that Rick's package was bigger than Vicki's. I assume she meant Steve's package but that isn't what she said. Apparently Rick, Veronica and Andy all looked mortified. Hard to believe that a journalist would be interested in someone who often can't string a coherent sentence together, and often mangles words. Oh, and Rick wants to get married on 10/10/2020 because he likes the sounds of it. Because that is the mature way to pick a wedding date. Maybe these two are made for each other. Save anyone else from being involved with either of them.
  16. My problem with Bronte and her 7 kids is that she never acts like she is incredibly blessed. She acts like they are an anchor around her neck. She has complained all season that she has spent the last 20 years having kids and breastfeeding. Though when she came on the show she bragged about having three nannies, despite the fact that she only had two kids that weren't in school. In her first episode she actually recoiled when her baby tried to reach out to her. On top of this, she had to go to great lengths to have the last 4, as I think they were all conceived via AI? On this epi she says she is exploring her sexuality because she has been a mother and breastfeeding for 20 years. Did someone put a gun to her head and make her have 7 kids? It hasn't stopped her from having threesomes with her husband or having a separate residence (and not for the first time) to have sex. Or making out with anyone with a tongue who is willing, on camera. I find Bronte to be a fake and a flake, and very much like her mother. Just without the colourful clothes and hair.
  17. I loved it when Shannon brought up that Kelly had said that she and Brian would be engaged in 6 months. Kelly denied it, but I remember her saying that on the show. Good on Shannon. Like others, I think it is ridiculous that Kelly has gotten engaged to someone without even introducing him to her daughter, Just shows (which I have always thought) that Jolie is a prop in Kelly's life. Important when Kelly has nothing else going on, disposable when someone more important (a man) comes along.
  18. Well, that was interesting. I actually agree with Vicki that Bronte is kissing Tamra and whomever for attention, and to keep her orange. And like other posters I think there is a difference between how Vicki has acted in the past, and Bronte coming out strong and aggressive right out of the gate. Bronte is more like her mother than not. And I don't for a minute believe that one of her kids was thanking her for kissing other women on the show, like she is some kind of role model. Which is what she was implying. Not buying it. I also agree with Vicki when she said that she was not interviewed for the show. An audition tape is something quite different IMO. An interview would be when a producer or whoever sits down and asks questions about your views on different subjects. That is not what Andy showed, at all. He really lost it with his hissing at Vicki. I wonder what she has on him? I have always liked Shane more than Emily, and have always felt that Emily is passive aggressive in their relationship. So glad to see so many howives come out in defense of Shane. When Kelly said that Emily was a bitch to Shane, that spoke volumes to me. Andy didn't seem too happy though as that negates Emily's whole storyline of what a terrible husband Shane is. Then there is Kelly, who gets engaged after four months of dating, and was picking out her own ring weeks before that. Yikes. I saw somewhere where she said they were travelling to Canada (lucky us) and it would be their 5th country to visit together. Sounds like their whole relationship has been travelling together, which is hardly real life. I don't believe that given a choice Jolie would choose to live with her mother and her insta fiance over her father. I think Jolie would welcome someone taking her mother off her hands, so that she could go back to being a kid and not her mother's BFF and therapist. I see that Rick has a daughter who is a social worker in NYC. I bet she deals with Kelly type mothers all the time. She must be mortified at the thought of having Kelly as her new step mommy. Her last step mommy lasted nine months before step mommy and Rick divorced. That was two years ago. So many red flags, Kelly must be colour blind. As must Rick. A match made in hell.
  19. Eh. I am still on Shannon's team. I don't consider BodyTite to be the same as liposuction, since from its own advertisement it says it is used for tightening skin after weight loss. If Shannon had loose skin after losing 40 lbs, why would she not get the procedure? She can obviously afford it. On another site Kelly gives two different tweets to people who call her out on a possible HIPAA violation. In one tweet she answers that Shannon herself told her. In a tweet to another person she says that she was there with Shannon and it was being filmed, but Shannon did not want it aired. So why would Kelly not have said either of these things on the show? "Shannon I was with you?" or "Shannon you told me". She didn't. Or why would Andy not have said "Well it was filmed Shannon". Maybe because Kelly is a liar? BTW, upthread a poster mentioned a star who had had lipo but kept it a secret. I remember Suzanne Somers doing that years ago, and it was a big deal because her whole brand was built on her weight loss books/advice/thigh trimmer thingy, etc. I don't even consider Shannon's meals to be weight loss meals - it isn't like she has a whole program like Slim Fast. They are simply low calorie meals - there are lots out there - for people who don't want to consume a lot of calories at a sitting. I will sometimes eat them on the go (not Shannon's but one of the many other brands) and it has nothing to do with dieting, but just not consuming more calories than I need. So, still on Shannon's team and good on her for tightening up after weight loss. Could you imagine the grief she would get if she was on camera with a wrinkled abdomen, arms, or where ever she had the treatment?
  20. I actually felt sorry for Shannon, as she seemed genuinely hurt and confused as to why Kelly is treating her the way she is. My take is that Kelly is green with envy over Shannon's divorce settlement. I also don't believe that Shannon had lipo - I think she had exactly what she said she had, and Kelly is too dumb to know the difference. Or Kelly is just plain lying, which is also possible as she does it as easily as she breathes. Where exactly is Kelly jet setting to? And on whose dime? Certainly not her own, as if she had money she wouldn't be living in that dumpy 80's era shoe box. I don't think her current boyfriend has money. She really is delusional, particularly where her daughter is concerned. We have seen with our own eyes Jolie being mortified by her mother's actions. The tampon scene, as well as when she and Brian were trying to talk Jolie into being the face of some non existent product. Kelly is a liar, a fraud, and a narcissist. I wonder how long it will be before Jolie goes to live with her dad FT, like Tamra's daughter did with her dad.
  21. I actually respect Scott more because he did not rush into a commitment that he was not ready for. They have been together on and off for three years, which is not a huge amount of time. I certainly (as I have posted before) give them a better chance of making it that Kelly from RHOC who at the end of filming this season was still with one guy that she professed to love (but who did not want to commit to marriage) and is already engaged to another guy. I am sure if all Tins wanted was to get married, she could have found a guy that was willing. They aren't hard to find, if you set your standards low enough.
  22. I like Tins too and am sad to see her go, but am happy for her. Maybe Tins has grown a bit, and actually admires that Scott is a self made man. Topper came from a wealthy family, as did her last serious boyfriend with whom she had a violent relationship at times. Personally, I would take self made over a trust fund baby who has had everything handed to them, any day of the week. Maybe Tins has finally realized that looks aren't everything, though I see nothing wrong with Scott's looks. I think he has actually slimmed down since he met Tins. I hope they will be very happy.
  23. Whatever makeup artists made up these ladies should be fired. An 4 year old playing dress up could do a better job. Yikes. I loved the footage of Vicki in the dressing room. And that she got what she wanted - a seat right beside Andy. Priceless. I know it is an UO but I hope Vicki is back FT next season. Bronte and Kelly can go - please. Bronte is boring - maybe because all she has going for her is that she has birthed 7 kids? Which in my book isn't an accomplishment. Kelly is just unstable, and not enjoyable to watch. I really had hoped that by now Shannon would have learned that all she has to do to get under Kelly's skin is to smirk like Kelly does, and laugh at her. Hopefully we will see some of that next week. I loved Andy zoning out at one point when everyone was talking over everyone else. Priceless. I really hope Emily isn't back next year, but I don't think I will be that lucky. I have come to like Gina because she has a sense of humour about herself. Emily just has a perpetual stick up her butt. I really can only tolerate her because I love Shane's snarky comments. When Emily said that Shane wanted to know if Bronte's husband was going to bring his statement necklaces to BravoCon, I almost spit up my drink. Lol.
  24. My husband had his replaced a year ago (exactly a year ago yesterday actually). He was surprised at how little pain he had after the surgery, and how quickly he recovered. His former partner had more pain and a longer recovery time, but still was in less pain after the surgery than he had been while waiting for it. Edited to add- my hubby turned 63 a month before his surgery. I have heard that in general those who have the surgery at a younger age recover quicker, so you hopefully will do well given your age.
  25. Hopefully wherever you are having your surgery, they are doing the much less invasive method that I posted about above. My husband's BF just had his second hip replacement a month ago and actually flew home from Toronto where he had it done (he opted to pay privately rather than wait for a year to have it done via the medical plan though it would still have been the less invasive method) to B.C. with one plane change in Calgary. This was three days after surgery. His recovery has been much faster as well than his first replacement three years ago. I love the editors as well. A few weeks ago when the ladies were on holidays and Emily and Kelly kept referring to Shannon, Vicki and Tamra as old, they showed the last three partying into the wee hours of the morning. Emily and Kelly were in their PJs and going to bed at 11:30. Too funny. I don't mind Gina either - I certainly prefer her to Emily or Bronte. I would like to see her back next year if only because we all know (or I think most of us do) how the whole "Matt has changed and totally loves me and wants to make it work" plays out. I think she will need the show more than ever next year.
