  1. Personally, I have always preferred Shane to Emily. I find her to be (and always have) very passive aggressive. She continually whines that Shane is not the husband she wants him to be, but whenever - without exception - he makes an effort she spends the entire time berating him for what he has not done. That is not the way to make someone want to make an effort, or spend time with you. Add in that Emily has now admitted that she has anger management control issues, and who knows what goes on when the cameras are off. The bottom line is she married someone she didn't love, and who didn't love her. I am not one who finds marriage particularly hard, but then I married someone I both love and respect to the moon and back. Emily didn't. But if I had to pick one of the two to be friends with, it would be Shane. Hands down. I might add that I am not on Instagram, but Emily has posted pictures of the family on vacation that I have seen, and they all seem perfectly happy. So maybe she is a bitch to Shane for a story line, and he checks out because he hates their lives being played out on TV. Regarding her surgery, at least where I live in the last year the method of performing hip replacement surgery has changed drastically. It is now way less invasive, done through the front of the hip and the person is in and out of hospital the same day, or the next at the latest if the surgery is done later in the day. Much faster recovery time as well.
  2. Can someone explain this whole lawsuit that Shannon and Tamra are involved in, and how Kelly is also involved? I only know it involves Jim Bellini, but I don't think it has ever actually been explained on the show. Or if it was I missed it. Tamra running and hiding in plain sight in the bushes reminds me of a pet or a child when they think that if they can't see you, you can't see them. My apologies to children and pets though, who are generally both way smarter than Tamra. I know this is an UO, but I think Emily is a shitty mother. I grew up with a mother who had severe heart problems and was not able to do many things that other mothers could. She also was hospitalized several times during my childhood. I was always afraid that I was going to lose her, but NEVER ONCE did that fear come from my mother. She never once complained, or heaven forbid leaned on me for support. I have no patience for the drama queen that is Emily. Also, she should have been kicking up her heels when she heard that she would be having a hip replacement and would be good as new, rather than boo hooing about it. My hubby had a knee replacement a year ago - he could not wait. His best friend had a hip replacement two years ago, and the second hip replaced a month ago. Could not wait for either surgery, and was so grateful to be pain free. Go away, Emily.
  3. I only found out about the youtube movie during the episode, so haven't watched it. I will now though, even though I hate watching movies on my computer. I would suspect though given Melina22's comment about it being darker, that there is more about Pearlman preying on his discoveries.
  4. I had never heard of Lou Pearlman until I watched this show last night. The boy band era was a a generation or two after my teenage years. Fascinating episode though. Though I knew of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC I had never heard of O Town. The part about Pearlman using a toy airplane to advertise for his non existent airline was amazing. These con people are really ingenious. I kept thinking that if a movie (rather than documentary) had been made of his life, the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman would have been perfect to play Pearlman - they looked a lot alike. I do love that someone Pearlman discovered is the one who has made a documentary about his con artist life. Karma.
  5. It was interesting that he chose LV to live - lots of access to unsuspecting (and in some cases inebriated) women. I bet he isn't the only perv who has chosen to hang their hat there. I used to go to LV yearly during the time that he lived there. I am happy to say I almost never wear dresses, and never have in LV. And now for sure never will.
  6. Wow, just when you think you have seen it all, a murderer buries the body in an empty grave? I often wonder when a murdered person is never found, if the murderer was just lucky or smart. I think if I had a missing loved one that was suspected of being murdered, I would be asking the police to check with any local graveyards to see if there was a burial a day or two after the loved one went missing, I agree with others that this was a rare Dateline that warranted two hours. This episode laid out more thoroughly why it sometimes take so long to bring a killer to justice, even when it is pretty obvious who the killer is. One thing I didn't understand was why, when the ex was in police custody and started to bite his nails and spit them on the floor, why the police didn't collect the nails he spit out? I also wonder why he didn't just swallow them if he was trying to get rid of DNA. Was amazed as well to see all of the scratch marks on him. He really was lucky that he had so many years of freedom before he was finally arrested. I was also creeped out by the video of him following those women in LV, gaining access to their hotel room and sexually assaulting one. I assume the police were never able to track down the women in the tape? Can you imagine if you were watching this show, and realized it was you and your friends on the tape?!
  7. I thought the same thing with regards to the parents, where the fathers could have accused the mothers of being unfaithful. What a mess. A blood test could have helped of course only if the child had a different blood type from either of the parents, but given that a blood type like O positive is very common, it is quite possible that though unrelated child and parent(s) may have shared a blood type. I thought it was odd too that the mother of one of the babies thought she had the wrong one but since she had already bonded didn't pursue it. One would think she would have wondered until the day she died if she had a biological daughter out there somewhere and how she was doing? And the father too, of course. The woman raised in the Hispanic family said she was raised with a brother, so it looks like each woman has at least one biological sibling. I hope the woman with the Hispanic brother was able to connect with him and have a similar outcome to the sisters shown.
  8. The best scene in the episode was when the cat bit Emily. Good kitty.
  9. Who wore it best between Gina and Kelly and their matching outfits? Gina by a mile. Or should I say a few cup sizes. Kelly is clueless to the fact that wearing an outfit open to the navel just makes her look cheap. Though I am just guessing that she would look less cheap if she didn't always have the girls out. I don't know if I have ever seen her any other way, to compare. Speaking of cup sizes, Dr Brian could use a breast reduction and a tummy tuck. The plastic surgeon needs a plastic surgeon. Or a diet. The age shamer should look at who she is dating before she makes comment regarding age/looks. Brian looks like a burger away from a heart attack. The other age shamer looks like a line backer. If she is going to continue to refer to some of her coworkers as elderly, I am going to have to refer to her as the hulk. Sorry, not sorry. I give props to Shannon for para sailing. I am afraid of heights and did it 22 years ago. To this day it is the scariest thing I have ever done - it was terrifying. The fact that the wind kicked up as soon as I was airborne did not help. Thank goodness I had timed how long my husband was up and could see my watch (I was too terrified to turn my head) to know how long I would have to be in the air, otherwise I would have added a panic attack to the mix. Ugh.
  10. Aw, thanks for posting this. I love Tins's comment thanking Scott for all his excitement for them. You can tell that he is as happy as Tins is, which is how it should be. So happy for them both.
  11. I just looked at the end of the epi again where they said Alyssa was 18 and in college. I missed the updated picture of her as they had it on an angle for some reason. (I did know the difference between her and her sister). Her dad's killer pleaded guilty in Dec/11 so this interview was likely 2012 or so, since she said she forgave him. That would make her 10 or so, since she was 6 when her dad was murdered in 2008. So ya, way to young to be interviewed, and asked the questions she was. I think if Dateline is going to repackage old episodes as new just because they might be adding a few new details or an update, they should show the original date somewhere on the interviews. Maybe they did and I missed it, but I don't think so.
  12. I am happy for Tins, and hope that she and Scott will be very happy. I never understood the grief that Scott got from many, because he didn't want to rush into marriage. Tins first met Scott in season 9 which aired in the spring of 2017, so was filmed the fall before. So basically they met 3 years ago. Yes, they have been on and off many times but that appears to be because Tins wanted to get married (and I think was pushed by others and her mother to expect it). Scott is certainly much more like any male I know, who is not inclined to rush into marriage. In my own situation, my husband and I knew each other for years before we went out, and even at that we were together for 6 years (and in our 40s) before he proposed. Had I been the type to push for marriage (I wasn't) we would not have lasted, So basically what I am saying is that both people have to be ready for that step, or most likely it will not last. I have much more hope for Tins and Scott (with the ups and downs they have weathered) than say Kelly from RHOC who in the current season is dating someone that she professes to love, but in real time she is not longer with, and she is already engaged to another guy. I love that Scott had arranged for the carolers to switch to "their song" A Thousand Years when they got to the spot where he proposed. It is also the song a girlfriend walked down the isle to at her beach front wedding - pretty song.
  13. That interview is very interesting, and contradicts in some ways what Kimberly said (or was said about her) in the episode. In the episode it is said (and I think she said as well) that the reason she left her bio family was because Regina was so smothering. In the interview above Kimberly blames her siblings, and says that other than her oldest sister she did not get along with the others because they blamed her for their mother being obsessed about the switch. I thought in the episode they said that Kimberly has 4 children? Here she says (or Barbara points out) that she has 6 children by 4 different men, and has been married twice. This interview also talks about how she was irresponsible with the money that was awarded due to the switch, and blew through it causing her to strip among other things. I wondered in the episode why she was struggling financially when each family was awarded 6 million dollars. I am sure some went to lawyers but I found it hard to believe that she would not have received some of the money personally, which it turns out she did. Not to be mean, but I am not sure that all of Kimberly's problems have to do with the switch, and how she was raised, rather that just who she is as a person.
  14. Isn't Friday's case of the ex having her former husband shot a rerun? Or is it just a case that has been covered before? The only reason I remember this case is because of the daughter, Alyssa. I remember the first time I saw her being interviewed for the episode on her father's death, I thought she was about 8-10 and was shocked that she was being interviewed for the show. I had the same feeling last night which is when I remembered that I had seen her before. I was still shocked though (then remembered) that she is actually 18. She seems so young both in looks and mannerisms. In any case thank goodness she has Melissa.
  15. Unfortunately Emily has lowered herself as well in this episode. While I have never been an Emily fan, I would have agreed with your assessment last year, but not this one. They all seem desperate to hold on to their oranges. When Vicki is the one who is creeped out by the others' behavior, you know that they are acting ridiculous. And I have no problem with adding ageism to my slut shaming - I am older than all of these women and think that those with daughters the ages that these howives daughters are should be embarrassed by their own actions. I don't want to hear one howife whining about how someone else is ruining their reputation. Nope, you are doing it to yourselves.
  16. OMG I was just going to post the same thing!! All I see and hear when Shaun talks is Paul Lynde!! I have no idea why Kelly is still on the show. She brings nothing to it, whatsoever. Though I must say that I do enjoy her feeling like the underdog, after how she treated Shannon a couple of years ago. She positively relished making Shannon cry. So no sympathy from me, It is so weird to watch the show and know what has happened in the 7 months since this episode was filmed. I keep waiting for things that happen to Gina and Kelly in particular to be shown, but not sure if they film long enough for those events to be covered? I see Ragey Ryan now has Rapey Ryan's beard. Ugh. He is much worse looking now, but Brianna looks great. Getting away from Vicki was a great move for her. That said, I would love to have Vicki back next year, and Bronte and Paul gone from my TV forever. I wouldn't even mind if Gina and Emily stay, as long as Bronte and her kit and kaboode are gone.
  17. Yes, hence my question up thread as to if anyone has asked if it is dishwasher safe.
  18. Geez, I must have missed that, but I will admit that during the two hours at times my mind did wander. (Which happens often during Dateline's 2 hour episodes). Hmmm, I wonder if Stephanie could have had a hand in losing the evidence?
  19. And sadly, she almost did. Had she not bitten Sherri, I wonder if she would still be free? I sat down to watch what I thought was a whole new case. It has been a few years since I have seen this one so didn't recognize the name of the murdered woman or her husband. It wasn't until early into the episode when they made a throw away comment that a co worker was a suspect, and also an ex girlfriend of the husband that I thought "Sh*t, this is the cop that murdered the ex's wife case". I am not sure why all these old cases are getting trotted out, but there were a few new things in this one (or maybe things I just don't remember from previous coverage). I remember that the father had pointed to the ex as a suspect, but didn't realize that the ex roommate did as well. Amazing to think that it was looked at 3 (or was it 4?) times before the detective who finally broke the case got it. I don't remember it being mentioned before that there was blood on the equipment by the door. Hard to believe (or maybe not) that only the last detective had the common sense to realize that if the wife was already dead or dying, there was no reason not to take the equipment. I wonder how Stephanie knew that Sherri would be home, of if she had just broken into the house to scare her (ie show that she had been there as she had before) and was startled to find Stephanie there. Mind you she did show up with a gun even though she was off duty that day - or do some cops always carry their guns even when off duty? I often wonder in these cases where there is DNA evidence left, something that was not detectable when the crime was committed, if these criminals are just waiting from year to year for the knock to come on their door. And if Stephanie had never bitten Sherri, would there have been DNA left for them to test?
  20. Ha - I have no idea who Robin Arryn is, so had to google. I am one of the few people who has never seen an episode of Game of Thrones!
  21. Why does Bronte keep saying that she breastfed for 18 (or is it 19) years straight? There is an 8 year gap between her oldest son, and the next kids - the twins. Is she saying that she breastfed her oldest son until he was 8 and she had more kids to take his place? Hardly. And no one made you have 7 kids Bronte, and no one made you breast feed any of them. So stop embarrassing your kids. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree - she really is Deb's daughter. Mr Bronte gets more gay every time I see him. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay, I just think he is living the life of a straight man but he isn't actually one. When Gina made the comment that if you put a blue light on the sex shack it would light up with semen, I thought to myself that it would be Sean's, and whatever partner he has brought there at any given time. I love the editors of this show. It never fails that when Kelly runs down someone else's intelligence, she says something stupid, This time it was referring to Stockholm as Sockholm. Sheesh.
  22. That is exactly why the whole "Bev gave Darlene power of attorney" is such a ridiculous story line. Darlene should have told Bev that she was perfectly capable of making this decision, and that she would have to. But then we would not have had the drama of Darlene being pitted against Jackie and Becky. I really hope that the writers decide to make the Lunchbox a success, with some hiccups along the way. The constant struggle and everyone and their dog living under Dan's roof is getting boring.
  23. For me it was obvious from the start that the younger brother killed the older brother. Why else would he have purposely had the older brother leave the room and then point the gun at him and shoot as soon as he returned. The actor playing the younger brother also did a good job of playing an emotionless kid. The bullet was tested for fingerprints - it didn't yield any. Bull mad up the lie about sending it out of the country for testing to get the kid to confess. (Assuming that is what you mean about the bullet already being tested?).
  24. I saw the Osmonds way back in the early 70s, Donny in "Joseph" in the 90s and Donny and Marie in LV a few years ago. In fact I started watching "The Talk" because Marie has joined the show. I have tried watching over the years but the various configurations of hosts never worked for me. But I love these ladies together, I also loved that three of them went to the last LV show. I always thought I would get back for one more show, but never did. Amazing though that they parlayed a 6 week engagement into 11 years, but after seeing their show I can see why/how.
  25. I thought this episode was well done, a good mix of serious and funny. My favourite line was when Louise expressed surprise that there was an option to leave, like she wished she had thought of it. And Jackie's routine was hysterical. All in all, a strong episode.
