Live Chat: S34.14: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished / Reunion

Which player found new ways to get boned: Cirie or Bobby Jon? Because she's Cirie, she took it way better than I would have. I would've throttled Probst because no other producer would be that close to me. Cirie is awesome, and I won't hear anything different.- 513 replies

The collar season? Sorry about that. And we are back to giving subtitles to Tai. Probably bugs him less than it does me. -

Uneasy thought: If Brad wins, who gets to his jock first? Him or Probst? How about a challenge where you do stuff after the puzzle? Who wanted One World on DVD? SJDS is also available . . . did Natalie or her sister make it on a TAR DVD? -

Tai is not a Russell. He found the third idol by looking in the same place at a new camp where he got the second. Nice guy, but he's not that big a genius, Survivor-wise. ETA: I can't call a grown man "Troyzan" with a straight face. -

1. I wish CBS would be honest and say that the finale clocks in at 2:10. When was the last time a winner was crowned at 10 p.m.? 2. Sandra has her tiara on. Good for her. -
Wasn't Adam the winner last season? I'm too lazy to check. Reality Blurred with a few more details on S35. I clicked the casting link to see if anybody looked familiar to me.

Update: Old Lace gets a teaser. Didn't know she was alive. While I'm thinking about it . . . will she be on television? I don't know how big a budget a Hulu show would have. Also: Am I weird for wanting to bring back Gert? I see her growing up to be a player of sorts in time. Like, if you bring her up to Kang or Immortus*, they would sigh and mutter, "Oh. her." *I know they're the same guy. I can't think of any other time travelers on that big a scale.

It's a pity this show doesn't get bigger sponsors. "Wes Bergmann! You just faced Johnny Bananas in an elimination match for the first time, and you beat him! What are you going to do now?!?" "I'm going to Disney World! Which is what I can do at anytime because I'm so well-off!!!!"
-
New teaser with Chase. I don't think this is a reboot. Telling old stories in new ways is more DC Comics than Marvel. The twist with Alex manipulating the others and getting their trust was pretty brutal.

Checked the Media thread. Varner has been spotted. I'm just concerned that he might get a reaction beyond booing. Even if Zeke openly forgives him, Varner would probably get the treatment reserved for the likes of Jon, Colton and Naonka.

I think he's okay with it, and not because of the paycheck. Remember, he played a rock monster in two movies, and I don't think that was CGI. I will say that he probably kept cracking up. "Judge! Jury! AND EXECU- . . . oh, God. I'm sorry, I can't keep a straight face. I just can't. I never had this problem on The Shield."
-
It's been a month and change. Let's get the party moving again. (Samurai Jack) (American Gods)
-
Any sign of Varner? I don't think he should come to the Reunion after what he did with Zeke. Really wouldn't blame him for sitting that out. Any links to the pictures? I want to see the older ladies, by which I mean Cirie and Sandra.

Looks like we're getting into turf covered in Resurrection 'F'. Some things are different. I remember Piccolo rocking Pan's cradle, but I don't think he made funny faces. Nice touch that we didn't get to see those, because Piccolo's status as a badass would be greatly revoked. I know Vegeta has been doing housework, but that's for training purposes. Also funny: Shenron returning Freiza in malevolent chunks. Of course Sorbet lets Team Pilaf screw up the remaining wishes. I don't even think "Sorbet" is his real name. He probably wanted to keep the legacy of Freiza and Cold (and Cooler, but he's probably not canon). With some quick thinking, we could have had Freiza reassembled to wreak immediate havoc. Gohan and Piccolo fail for not calling Bulma when the sky went dark in order to track the dragon balls. ETA: Apparently, Freiza went past the ogres in hell, and he got cocooned and surrounded by all things cute. Seems about right. Also, I think I prefer Little Kuriboh's take on the character in the abridged series.

I'll try to rewatch this episode. I'm going by this recap. Short story: Storm Team Moravsky (Joe Moracvky with Josh Levin and Allyssa Beird) advanced, winning two rounds with sudden death matches against Flowmingo (captain: Alan Conneally) and Team Alpha (Brent Steffensen, with Kacy Caanzaro). In the final against Karsten's Fast Kats (Karsten Williams), Allyssa splashed in the first leg, but her teammates made up the ten-secound penalty for the win.

Apologies for not commenting last week. I'll try to rectify that. But this week? Was bananas. The Labreckfast Club, headed by Jesse "Flex" Labreck, had swept the first round and took a 2-0 lead on The Ballers (Lorin Ball). But then Jon Alexis Jr. (aka "The Giant") biffed an obstacle, and Paul Kasemir ("Mr. Consistency") finished the course. They had a rematch, and Jon wiped out, giving the Ballers the upset win. The Ballers wound up taking on Real Life Beasts (Drew Drechsel, James McGrath, and Erica Cook), and they had a commanding lead going into the final leg. But Kasemir wiped out on the salmon ladder, and RLB got the unexpected win. Next week: The final preliminary runs, with the returns of Team Ronin and Ninja Brittens.

In the words of Bill Pullman: "He did it!! Sonuvabitch did it!!!" Yeah, the endgame involved blindfolds, and luck was a bit of a factor . . . but Wes beat Johnny. Holy shit. I did not think that could seriously happen, because the universe loves Johnny and hates Wes. Now I don't know what to think. Holy shit. Rest of the episode was a blur. I'm relieved Punk was covered in ketchup and not blood. Double-good day for him . . . he wins the endgame and watches Johnny leave after they sparred.

"Barry, it's your mom." Damn. I mean, we needed a big note to end the season . . . damn. I guess HR wasn't a waste after all. I pity the Wells that joins the team, even if they managed to retrieve the one that Eobard murdered. Looks like Wally is the Flash now. Also, he is not a Doctor Who fan. Caitlin manages to redeem herself, and now she goes to be someone else . . . something else. Given how Killer Frost is now on Batman's Justice League team, we should have seen that coming. And Julian lived! Totally would have lost money had I bet on that. With Jay back, I reckon Jesse goes back to Earth-2. I'd like to go back. Maybe they got a Trickster that isn't Mark Hamil. Funny to see Barritar channel his old putz self.

Man, Ymir got hosed. Her Titan form is runty, and she lost an arm and a leg afterward. I will say that she was an awesome fighter . . . like Laura in Logan.

I thought Capaldi said Benedict I. I'm probably mistaken. Also: what would be a more fun teamup: the Doctor with Francis I, or with the pope that resigned? Maybe he abdicated the office to keep an eye on the truly weird shit nobody else knows about.

From Cheezburger: Bridesmaids holding puppies instead of flowers. In other news: Paddington is still cute.

From CBR: The next Doctor Who event from Titan. Right now, I'm thinking that not only won't I pick up the Ten and Eleven books, I might skip Nine and Twelve. Probably a better idea to wait for the collection. If all four Doctors meet, it would be for the first time; "Supremacy Of The Cybermen" being an indirect affair. If Twelve tries to back out of the "event" like he did two years ago, I would still approve.

In case you didn't know, Disney XD has started running episodes of the current Pokémon franchise. I've been DVRing those and making my way through them. The animation is a little more "cartoony" than we usually get, though the gist of the show is the same. Only this time, Ash is attending school in the tropical (so far) Alola region, and he's got a new group of friends: the fat smart kid, the girl with the grass type, the girl with the Popplio (the water-type starter), the tan dude with the Charizard, and the girl that loves to study Pokémon but is scared to touch them. Not sure how an ensemble cast will work in the long run, but I'm good with it so far. And Team Rocket is back. Good news: they acquired the creepy-looking Mimikyu, a ghost/fairy-type that dresses itself as a poor person's Pikachu. Also, they keep getting abducted by a Bewear. Hey, James met a bear-like creature! Good for him. As for Team Ash, he's acquired a Rowlet, the grass-type starter that enjoys napping in Ash's backpack. Our Hero is also assisted by a Rotom possessing a Pokedex. Kinda annoying, but it does exposition well. Has anybody else been watching the new episodes?

Not caring that much for tomorrow's finale. I think the biggest question going in is whether Jeff Varner would be dumb enough to come to the Reunion and get stuff thrown at him. I mean, he would have to be paid a lot to think about attending, even if that were to all go to charity. Also: I'm be mildly surprised if Sandra get one or two minutes.

Saw it. I'd like to think that they wouldn't have brought in Ryan Reynolds had this not been the 200th installment.
