I've been chipping away at two years worth of DVRed episodes. Man, this is a fun series. Perfect for pausing as well, so you can get more jokes . . . like the time the Titans leased their stuff out, and Robin put out an ad for a crowbar. Only used once. Also hysterical: Starfire's version of "mummy" is a harried single mother with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, so she wraps herself in toilet paper for when she needs it. Batman and Commissioner Gordon are totally a married couple, aren't they? I would have thought they would be more protests about that. 😛

Heads up: Adult Swim will be running Sealab 2021 and Frisk Dingo in the 4 a.m. slot starting this coming Monday. Since both came in part from Adam Reed, I set up this "prehistory" thread on the Archer forum a while back, in case you want to chat about either or both shows.

Note to self: see if HISHE has a Facebook presence so I can watch their stuff sooner and post it in these forums. Because that is important to me. Topic? Right . . . I'm not thinking hard about the logistical holes of the movie. Aside from giving Natasha a movie after she was killed, I'm not having headaches at all. Then again, if Disney/MCU reveals that the Natasha who died was a clone, I'm be pissed . . . but I'd be impressed by the sheer size of balls to go down that road.

Later this month, the Mets will be celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the 1969 World Champs. Weird question: should the 1999 team get honored as well? I know they didn't even win the pennant, but they had one of the wildest rides in the team's history. If things had broken a little differently, they could have been been the first team to lose the first three LCS games and forced a Game 7.

So it just gets moved from 8 to 9? I can live with it. And maybe Big Brother fans can see what a relatively guilt-free reality show looks like. At least CBS isn't pre-empting episodes for Love Island. CBS should leave the STD-passing to the experts: ABC, Fox and MTV.

"Well, Brett died as he lived. Suffering because of something those idiots did." Normally, I'd blame Archer, but Carol launched Benedict the Sixarmdadillo (shut up, I think that's clever) and the eggs into space. Poor Brett. Didn't even get a "GOD . . . DAMMIT, ARCHER!!!!!" Looks like the Seamus crew doesn't need Bort, Barry-6, or any other reimagining of a nemesis (we haven't seen Conway Stern in forever). All they need are addictive eggs that compel them to seek out their bliss. That includes Archer and Lana banging. A lot. And like the "regular" continuity, it probably wasn't healthy for either of them. Carol(?) probably harmed herself less breaking out the streamer of glue. According to the AVClub review (A-minus), Adam Reed didn't write the episode. Maybe he needed to practice Ray's murdering of a piano? The results came out good, though.

Well, Survivor has run out of teams. Does that mean TAR gets the Wednesday 8 p.m. slot in Winter 2020, and Survivor gets bumped back to that summer? Yeah, wishful thinking. Chris & Bret ran a good race. I thought that they were toast after the third leg, when they opted for the dancing, and the soundtrack immediately broke out into the Fail Cymbals. But they hung tough and raced well. Not bad for two guys I barely remembered. Becca resorted to rap in order to memorize the poem? Oh, wow, no way. 😛 Colin & Christie came way too to the edge for my tastes. Seriously, what would be worse than losing out on $1 million to a schlub and his wife? Getting eliminated for failing to beat out two schlubs to the mat. Luckily, Bromance double (quadruple?) Bald Snarked the Detour, so they could retrieve their Sponsor Gnome. Once again, a TAR team wins a leg. Once again, Tyler & Korey get a prize because another team couldn't get to the mat quickly enough. I hope Tyler's online presence is profitable, because he and Korey are gonna have to pay taxes on them. I'm good with them winning, even when Tyler goes for the easy joke way too hard. Sweet Roadblock. Too much cooperation between Racers, though. And what better way to to playing a glorified shell game with gladiators? Dalmatians on the mat. And puppies!!! Not my go-to cute dog breed, but still a welcome presence. With puppies!!!!

Mine say that NBC will be re-airing the Atlanta qualifiers.

Okay . . . so The Boondocks is coming back. With Aaron McGruder. I did not see this coming at all. Given the sheer awfulness of the final season (Adult Swim doesn't even air it), I think a peace offering would be acceptable. I vote Uncle Ruckus getting killed in the very first scene. Given that the series prided itself on being current, I'd say he's downright redundant. ETA: No word if the series will go back to Adult Swim. I'm hoping it doesn't go streaming, even if McGruder could go way the fuck farther with stories if that were true.

Sword Art Online - General Discussion

In his defense, the lady was basically offering her body unto him. "Give me your love, and I will help you." Very thin subtext. Seriously, have we ever thought about sex with this anime? Kirito and Asuna adopted a kid in SAO, but they probably didn't consummate their relationship. And if they did, it could be waved off for being in virtual reality. Also, because they were trapped in SAO for two years. -
Magic knight battles! New asshole that befriends Asta! Pretty nice stuff . .. until Noelle's brother swings by to shit on her yet again. On the other hand, we got Yuno's boss looking horrified at the thought of being on a team with a psycho like Luck. And the rest of the Black Bulls swing by to support their own. BTW, are we ever going to learn anything about Mumblyn Manson?

Female Antagonist: No one loves you, Eugeo. Eugeo: That's not true! Female Antagonist: No one ever loved you. Not your mother, not Alice, not Kirito. But I love you. And now, I'm going to go topless in a rather tasteful scene (given what's happening), and I will basically seduce you into letting me screw with your mind. Eugeo: [nodding] Me: [watching] Okay, things are taking an interesting turn. DAMN. Looks like Eugeo is "hoes before Kiritoes." Should I be ashamed over that last bit? It seems funny in my mind. -
Leg averages after eight legs. Second set of numbers are averages with each team's best and worst performances taken out. Except for the Afghanimals, the teams are holding up okay after getting their averages adjusted. The only team I'm rooting against now is Nicole & Victor because they're Big Brother. Also, Victor did The Challenge, and a win by hm means we'd get drowned in a flood of Challengers thanks to the "suggestions" of CBS execs. And even when you disqualify those that aren't American citizens (Kyle, Joss, Bear), you're still left with a near-endless river of assholes. Paulie & Cara Maria racing? If that doesn't make you shudder, then you don't watch The Challenge . . . and for that, I envy you. Oh, and I want the Afghanimals to at least show up for the final leg because 1. They'd break Rachel's record, and 2. They would avoid being the only three-time team not to make a final run for the grand prize. I get how they can grate, but I don't have beef with them. Ditto for the other TAR teams that have kept first place "in the family" and the unexpected snark from Chris & Bret. Maybe they'll get more Instagram followers after this season. Here are clips from tomorrow's episode. Looks like Mt. Colinomajaro might be erupting . . . or at least rumble a little. "Our sponsor gnome is lost! This is bullshit!!!!" And the return of airport drama! Also, Becca's hair unbraided. It's not shocking, but you might do a double take.

Wait, didn't another team get four consecutive homers a week or two ago?

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - General Discussion

Now I'm imagining Dan Green voicing the Pharaoh in Yu-Gi-Oh!, as he curbstomps dumbass Weevil in the Dartz arc. "THIS JUST ISN'T YOUR DAY!!!!!" And here's an analysis of the "Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town," "chase" and "Great Days" opening credits. It's from the same guy that did the previous videos on past Jojo OPs. I'm not sure if/when he'll get to "Fighting Gold" and “Requiem For A Traitor." Given that "Golden Wind" is winding down in Japan, that'll probably happen sooner than later. -
Polaroid camera and another person? I'd say that cameras hooked into computers would be used (like in the movie), but I don't think these vampires are smart enough,, and Guillermo strikes me as a "I didn't do that because you never asked" type. And his boss is Nandor, who strikes me as not giving a shit about technology.

Do we know for sure she's dead? I mean, she does come across as a character who could survive the coming of the Colossal Titan. Man, Marco went out like a punk. Overheard Reiner and Bertolt at the worst possible time, then Annie relieves him of his ODM gear, he becomes Titan chow, and his corpse is spit out afterward. What is the endgame for the Shifters? I keep losing track.

In case you didn't hear: NBC is pre-empting the Oklahoma City Qualifiers for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The next new episode will be on Monday, June 17. That means the Wednesday airings are over.

Apparently, Ray's little song number was based off this bit from Arrested Development. Also, upon first viewing, I missed Pam lifting "Yeah, you better gulp nervously!" from Frisky Dingo. Remember? From when Stan had the Awesome-X armor and was threatening to blow up the X-Tacle's heads one by one? Good times.

New rule for homers hit in San Francisco: if you hit a ball into McCovey Cove, any celebratory bat-flipping and showboating will be forgiven. And if a right-handed batter does that? He’s allowed to circle the bases in any way he wants, up to and including moonwalking and cartwheels.

S06.E14: Equal Rights Amendment and Phyllis Schlafly
Lantern7 replied to Athena's topic in Last Week Tonight
I think we could have used more ERA, because the opening bit seemed too centered on John getting money anytime he said the name “Rory.” Or post-show orgasms. Maybe both. I did find out that Theresa May's successor will be picked via dubious methods, and that is how a buffoonish asshole like Boris Johnson gets to be Prime Minister. And woe be unto the undersized children of the world he might wind up meeting. And hospitalizing. Eleven of the thirteen states that didn’t ratify ERA are based in the south? Oh, wow, no way, you guys. 🙄 Okay, Maybe ten, but it’s still discouraging. It did give John a reason to poop on a few states (“The fuck, Mississippi???”), but then we had to see clips of Phyllis Schlafly troll people decades before it became a thing online. -
He did. I would have sworn those hanging pipes for the spider climb/jump were soft. They were not. Nothing like hearing the audible "THONK" as the big pipe smacked his head. And he did clear the Warped Wall.

Player gets death threats after using drag bunt to break up a combined no-hitter. This is Double-A Eastern League action. If you're going to invoke that "unwritten rule," it probably should be called out at AAA, minimum.
-
Shit. I'm hoping he pulls through.
-
Dang, I didn't think of that. Well, maybe it would be an alternate Killface . . . like the Capt. Murphy we saw in "Sea Tunt."
