Crunchyroll will be running Progressive and Alternative subtitled. I forgot to mention that I met Kari Whulgren at Anime NYC in November. Got an autograph and a picture. I don't think I shared this right away because I always feel like a putz meeting famous people. .

I really don't date much to have a routine. Basically, I meet someone, we talk, maybe have a meal. That's about it. The last date was a mistake because it was on a weeknight, and she was driving in from New Jersey. Anyway, I haven't gotten to a second date in a while, and I usually hate myself more than the woman. I don't feel like I put as many eggs in the basket marked "FIRST DATE" as you might think, but it does frustrate me a lot. I haven't really been looking on OKC lately. I've just been interested in other stuff. Dating isn't a priority, but seeing someone and hitting it off would be great. Or at least nice.

I was good with The Opposition. Jordan's main hurdle was that his "character" was basically Stephen Colbert's updated for a new decade; Alex Jones instead of Bill O'Reilly. But it didn't catch on. I felt it was presentable, even though I wanted to pummel most of the "citizen journalists." And yes, I know they were acting, but they pissed me off that much. Klepper is in Jordan's sweet spot. The "funny" isn't all there, but Jordan's sneering at whatever windmill he's tilting at makes up for it. ETA: New episode airs Monday night at 10 p.m.

I like the Double Dipper freestyle diving . . . but I don't think anybody had that great of a form. Sean Bryan goofing on other ninjas before the second dive, following that by doing Jake Murray's pose before hitting the water? Inspired. I think this was Kristine's last ANW event, so it was a shame to see her team get wiped out. Sean Bryan's first dive, going upside-down . . . somebody make a GIF of Matt going bug-eyed. Please.

I can hear him in my head. “I know there is much drama. But I win Survivor back-to-back. I don’t think people care here, but I want to see if I can do it here. Also, I hear of one like me, only he has the one hand. He should be interesting to face.”

. . . and I just discovered it’ll run opposite The Amazing Race. Almost like NBC and CBS know what I like, and they’re just twisting the knife. I know it’s just three weeks, but it’s still a pain. Also, I’m going to watch the first episode the next day because MTV is giving the Challenge reunion two hours. If you’re interested, Natalie Duran will be there. She did pretty well for herself. I’m okay with her transitioning, but I don’t want her bringing in ninjas with more potential.

I like the absurdity of Guy getting launched in the air, then summoning his turtle . . . who immediately bitches about not being let out in ages. And Guy responds by performing the Yoshi Maneuver, jumping off his back for additional height. Guy has the talent for being fearsome and still funny. Like seeing the enemy emerge from the waterfall and thinking it was an evil version of himself, even as one of his teammates keeps yelling otherwise. ETA: I found this; it made me think of the "Clones Revolt!" filler episode.

Any word on the possibility of a third season? Even if the only returnees are Nick and Happy, I don't know if the insanity could be topped. Also, Sonny and Orcus could be brutally murdered in hilarious ways (who calls Johnny Weir "rent boy" to his face?), and it still wouldn't feel like justice has been serve. At least Amanda is sane again. Well, as sane as one can get in that world.

I'm not sure if "wacky" was the right direction for this season. Then again, with Gotham gone, there's a "batshit insane" void for comic-based shows, and I reckon AoS tried to make a case. tonight. Then again, seeing Daisy and Gemma trip balls was pretty funny, as was Enoch's existential crisis.

Trying to think about how Hayato could drop dime in Kira and not get anybody killed in the process. Would this work? Hayato gets into a situation where he is with Josuke and Rohan. At Hayato’s insistence, Heaven’s Door makes Josuke blind and deaf for about 15-30 seconds. Hayato reveals what he knows to Rohan. As Bites the Dust leaps towards Rohan, Josuke reverts to normal, having not heard the revelation or seen the kid’s lips move. While Hayato runs away, Crazy Diamond negates all damage inflicted on Rohan. Rohan tells Josuke. Josuke is safe because he doesn’t hear that from Hayato. Knowing my observation skills, I’m probably way off. Also, BtD could leap from Rohan to Josuke, and then we’d be back at the beginning. I don’t read spoilers, so I’m not trying for a “This wouldn’t work in a million years, but wouldn’t I be awesome if I called that?” thing.

First look from FXX: Premiere has great timing, with What We Do In The Shadows wrapping up over on FX.

Anybody else keeping up? Basically, UA tries to move on, convincing the kids to move into dorms. Ma Midoriya balks at the idea of her kid endangering himself, and Deku figures he could enroll in another hero school . . . but the depowered All Might basically begs, and she relents. Most of the episode is him and Aizawa making their pitches to parents. It turns out Bakugo's mother is the tough one in the family, and the Captain Murder Explosion thanks All Might for the save. He was actually pretty calm, aside from yelling at his mother.. I got two MHA/BNHA-based sketches last weekend: Bakugo and Gran Torino. What do you think?

There’s no chance we’d see the rest of the season for free, is there? I don’t have any subscription services, and I wouldn’t know which ones would be best for me. And that’s a shame because this show looks trippy as all fuck. After the first episode (and the bits and pieces I’ve read), this is close to Legends of Tomorrow, only with protagonists that are more fucked up, and more graphic stuff. I can just see someone watching Cliff’s first scene and going, “Now THAT is America’s ass.” By the way, is that Brendan Fraser as Cliff, or just the voice? Ditto with Larry. Seriously, nice melding of the original and Morrison runs. I hope it’s been that entertaining for those who subscribe.

More commercials, this time for cup noodles. The interesting bit is that the cast is reimagined as high school students, and the animation reflects that. It's very striking. From Zoro's clip, it's not just the crew. I see Tashigi, Perona, Crocodile talking with Vivi, Blackbeard, and pre-Slip-Slip Fruit Alvida berating Coby,

I take it he's announcing O's games? Well, somebody has to, right? He'd better be getting pay well, especially after this play. I think "run back to first on a ground ball" could only work against the Orioles. And probably the Mets, because I pull for them. I didn't hear Gary's call on ESPN this morning. I did hear John Sterling's call on the first homer, when he declared it to be "GLEYBER DAY!!!" I just want to punch him in the mouth. So fucking hackneyed. He probably had that ready since the guy joined the Yankees.

Just saw this runaway RV clip on The Daily Show, and I thought of this episode. That isn’t too sad, right? Warning: there are a few crashes, so the clip might not be safe for open viewing.

Latest list: Dang, it's like everyone did the Reunion, then dove into the next season. Did they even leave England to go to their homes first? Looks like most of the finalists are coming back, including the WotW champion (I want anyone who doesn't yet know to be surprised). The biggest returns would be Jordan and Laurel. You can almost her the theme music from The Terminator at the thought of Killbot coming back to the fold.

Marvel is running a massive event called War of the Realms. Basically, Earth gets invaded by evil forces from the other realms of Norse mythology, with Frost Giants invading America. In this week's X-Men tie-in, there's a refugee center set up at Citi Field, complete with a new name: Fort Syndergaard. That actually sounds better than Citi Field.
