Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
Meow Mix replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I certainly hope Caleb hasn't quit his job to do this full time. As I understand it, elevator mechanics are in high demand. Also, I think he had a union job which means very good benefits. Given that Evie will probably need more medical procedures in the future, he would be a fool to throw that away. -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

I don't know that you can't sell an asset while a child support case is going on. Never had to experience any of that thankfully. I think they were just asking too much for the place. It needed some very expensive repairs including a new deck and probably plumbing fixes. Also, I wouldn't want to deal with filling a cistern twice a month. -
Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore

I love seeing Truely getting to do something she wants to do instead of tagging along with younger or older kids. Hope she had a great time. -
I guess the tablet may somehow hook into their sound system and provide backing music. Oh well, too bad. I thought they were so old fashion, so why do they need all these newfangled things? Instead of an RV, how about a covered wagon? Brianne could dress up like Laura Ingalls Wilder. BTW, I'm getting the popcorn ready for the Jill and Brianne show once she gets that ring on her finger.

My experience is that most of the volunteers are too busy doing the work to stop to pose for photo ops with famous people or to give interviews to the various television shows. For example, Greg Biffle was flying his personal helicopter for days before he was briefly interviewed, then he went right back to work. He talked about a guy who signaled him with a mirror, but he didn't stick a camera in his face and exploit him. As for food, I don't care what anyone there eats as long as they get something. Usually organizations like the Red Cross set up kitchens to feed the volunteers as well as people stuck in the disaster zone. Maybe places like Chic Fil A and Sbux donate stuff, but most people eat whatever is there, they don't get stuff brought in especially for them. At least with this being in the US, JD and crew can't show up with fake law enforcement badges and bully other aid workers like they did in the Bahamas. While they are still doing the usual posing, I think they have had to actually do some work as well. The situation in NC and Tennessee is desperate and I am sure even a poser like Lawson Bates can be of some use.

That scene with Kody and Robyn was endless. If either of them thought that that was going to rehab their image, they were sorely mistaken. Kody came across like someone who needs psychiatric intervention and Robyn was totally fake. With Robyn, if she was so concerned about him having a relationship with his kids, why didn't she kick him out and tell him to go be with Ysabel? Or at least make sure he FaceTimed her before and after her surgery? Or sent her flowers? Why didn't she tell him to make it up to Gabe for forgetting his birthday? Why didn't she demand he text Savanah and especially invite her for the Christmas celebration he had with some of Christine's kids? This is why I don't believe Robyn here. Also, while she is right, his kids wanted a relationship with him, she is wrong about how he should go about it. The first thing he should do, which he will never do, is apologize for his horrible behavior. If he had done that early on and tried to do better, maybe most of his kids wouldn't be cutting him off now. And when he screamed that they are adults, my response was yes they are and healthy adults don't blindly worship and obey anyone, not even a parent. The thing that annoyed me the most was that he kept saying that everyone was triggering him. He clearly thinks that term means that every time someone says something to you you don't like or doesn't behave exactly as you want them to, that you have carte blanche to lose your $sh!t. And it's all their fault because they triggered you. I'm not surprised that Gabe is not responding to his texts anymore. I wonder how many times he went through the cycle with Kody before he realized that there was no future in it. I'm not sure how many of the things he claims the kids said were actually said. Hunter may have said that after Kody got triggered and screamed at him. Not sure who claims he brainwashed them. They all seem to have been over the religious beliefs for years. Regarding the wedding. I thought Kody said everyone ignored him and were purposely acting like they were having fun to needle him. But now he is claiming that there were several confrontations at the wedding including Maddie keeping her kids away from him and some of the others treating him with contempt. So, which is it? And as for someone saying that he didn't love Janelle, he said that over and over again about all three of them. He even said it later in this episode after he yelled his denial that he had ever said it. He has said for years he wished he'd never married Meri and that he was never attracted to Christine. He's exhausting. While I think the scene between them was rehearsed, it is grounded in truth. I imagine that Robyn is getting tired of angry Kody. He just seems miserable to live with and has the built in excuse of being triggered by everything to stay in that state. It's no wonder the other wives look years younger. Even when Meri was sick in bed, she looked so much better than when she was dealing with him. The less said about Christine's teenage antics the better. Glad she's happy, but she just acts so immature. I would not be in such a hurry to bring a man into my life if I was responsible for a minor child who had no choice in the matter. I would want to spend a significant amount of time finding out who this guy was first.

I finally caught the end of this episode, so that's all I've seen, but in the short bit I was thinking that I wish I had Plath confidence. Kim walks around dressed like someone less than half her age and thinks she looks good. She also thinks that two men are going to throw down over her. Moriah thinks her singing is the best and that this character she is with is going to give her a future when she's nothing but a side piece. Ethan thinks he's got a good voice and that he was a great husband to mean old Olivia. Micah thinks he's all that when he's, well, not. That concert looked depressing. just what I want when I am on vacation at the beach enjoying a fruity drink and looking at the ocean to have some pasty guy announce that he is now going to sing a song that "kept him on this side of the ground". Jeez, Ethan, dial it back a little. And that's after listening to Moriah's endless teen angst anthems. And by the way, it looks like she has a large tattoo on the other arm now that says something. I couldn't read it. HEBEL is bad enough. That said, I feel sorry for Moriah. That girl is really messed up. I have said many times that I am so grateful that there was no internet or social media when I was that age. That means that my dumb decisions are only known to a few people, so I can cringe in private. Her decisions are going to stick around forever. She really needs help, though. Like a lot of people, I made bad decisions, but nowhere near as destructive as what she is doing. Micah is acting like a 12 year old. I can't figure out what Veronica is doing with him. Even being TV is not worth this. Kim and Barry really failed their kids.

How many tributes does JRod need? She must be super butthurt over this one. Nurie made two separate tributes to her. I wonder if Kaylee will have to write another one as well before Jill calms down. Sheesh, get a grip, woman. I feel so uncomfortable with Jill and Dave leaving the kids with some random pastor while they go on their anniversary trip. I seem to remember that they didn't even know the guy the first time they left the kids with him and his family. I know Jill thinks pastors who agree with her are perfect paragons, but she's dead wrong. I know if anything untoward happened none of the kids would feel safe speaking up. Remember one of her sons provided a backrub to another creepy pastor and Jill thought nothing of posting it. Even her fans warned her that it was inappropriate and she denied that there was anything wrong. Those poor kids. I hope Philip is OK wherever he is.

Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!
Meow Mix replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
You know, with grown adults with two kids, I wouldn't even think to ask this, but I have two questions: Do they know that they still owe whatever the balance is on their car loan even though the car is gone? Do they realize that the insurance is not going to hand them 120K to get a new Tesla? Do they realize that even extra special Teslas lose a significant amount of value as soon as they are driven off the lot? They may be lucky and get enough to cover the loan balance, but certainly not much more. As for them getting negative feedback on their latest video, it is richly deserved. Parts of Tennessee and the NC mountains are completely destroyed. People lost homes, cars, and in some cases watched loved ones get swept away by raging flood waters. Watching these two clowns freak out over a power outage would make me want to throw something. -
And she went further to talk about how long the segment was. I understand Kody being so disrespectful because that's him, but I am really disappointed in Janelle for her weepy self-filmed stuff. Poor Logan who was parentified and can't even have parents who act like adults on his wedding day.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
Meow Mix replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
The land is in the eastern part of the state near Greenville. The damage from Helene is on the other side of the state in the mountains. There is risk of damage from tropical systems where their land is, but hopefully they won't see something as horrific as what they are dealing with in the mountains. -

And don't get me started on the whacked out weather we have had in NC lately. That makes any agriculture based business dicey right now. -
Goodness, this episode was pretty content-free. Everyone went to an "event" that they couldn't talk about and Mykelti had twins via c-section and the hospital wouldn't let the crew in the room to film that. First, I figured it was Logan's wedding since Janelle was wearing the dress she wore to that event. I'm glad Logan and Michelle refused to have it filmed because the producers would have made it all about Kody and the wives. I wonder about the not mentioning what the event was, though. There was what I call the black screen of pouting where there was a statement that cameras weren't allowed at the event. Then no one was allowed to even mention Logan's name. I don't know why that would matter to Logan since I'm sure he knew nothing would air until long after the wedding was over. I do think he made sure the crew didn't try to get around him by encouraging people to file using their phones. I'm glad he and Michelle got the wedding they wanted. I wonder if the producers were mad about it, though. As for Kody, unhinged doesn't even begin to cover it. It was over a year after Christine left Flagstaff and maybe 10 months since he stuck a fork n his relationship with Janelle, yet he was still that raw and hostile? then there was "Meri and I are broken up, I thknk". Then there was everyone is having fun just to spite me. And what was Robyn talking about that she was afraid someone would be mean to her little kids? She is so full of crap. And of course the whole safe thing had to be brought up by them yet again. First, if Kody was referring to where he sat during the ceremony, he's lying. We saw he and Robyn and her sour faced daughters were in the second row on the bride's side. He was even directly across the aisle from Christine. If it was at the reception, it serves him right for playing games with Logan about whether he'd be there or not. Of course he had to be begged to attend. The endless shots of Vegas with sad music and unhinged Kody made the whole thing seem depressing. Hope it was better in person. That family game night scene was not filmed n 2022. Sol and Ari look way too old to have been 6 and 8 at the time. Also, when did they become the von Trapps? I've never heard that any of the family was musical nor that they sat around playing guitars and singing. Interesting that they didn't show that. Probably because Kody made it up. Also, how do two people who live in the same house not coordinate their lies? Kody claims that he asked Robyn to deal with Ari and she wouldn't, then Robyn claims that she never stopped Kody from going to see another wife. And all I could think of when Kody was angrily riding that bike was the woman from The Wizard of Oz. Someone should dub the music from that scene over Kody's bike riding. Mykelti finally had her twins. I was floored that Robyn said that she was doing the most. Seriously it's not a competition. I thought it was nice of Janelle to defend Mykelti, but I think we all know Robyn's motives were less than pure in befriending her. I appreciate that Christine was gracious and backed off to let Robyn have her time with Mykelti. The one problem I had was when Christine referred to Mykelti as her mediator. No one should have that responsibility, especially not your child. Oh and when Kody pushes a watermelon out of his nostril, he is welcome to choose where he does it. Until then, no uterus, no opinion.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
Meow Mix replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
I'll bet they have. Just waiting for the theme parks to reopen. They are not needed in western NC which is currently devastated. Anyone who goes into that area needs to be a truly trained emergency responder, not some cosplaying grifter. -
I'd say that sending Dax to school would do him a world of good, but I'm not sure I'd wish him or Amy and Deanna on his teacher.

That answers one of my questions. Since this land was already used as a timber farm, it's possible that there is some infrastructure already there for them to build on. As much as I like flowers, I think they would have made more with timber. -

@JayDub1987 your efforts on our behalf weren't WAAASTED-UH! Sorry, that little hissy fit makes me laugh harder every time the reshow it. I voted for this one as well, though Where's my planet? would have worked too. He's definitely not getting his planet once Meri gets her release. I love that for him. -
Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Meow Mix replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Truley is absolutely entitled to support from both her parents. I agree that Christine waited until now to file because Kody could have sued for at least 50% custody and there was nothing that could have been done about it. I agree he didn't want Truley at all since when she was just down the road he never visited her. Also, I agree that Christine rewrote history a little when claiming that she left because of the situation with Ysabel's surgery. She clearly stated on the show that it was because she wasn't getting visits from little Kody anymore. I'm fine with Christine or any of the OG wives needling Kody, but I'm just not sure I'm comfortable with using Truley to do it. She's entitled to the support, but I think Christine is far more motivated by wanting to stick it to Kody. I feel so bad for Truley because I don't think either of her parents have done right by her. Christine is better than Kody, but the way she handled telling Truley about leaving and even trying to get a reaction out of her for the camera was gross. -
I guess I don's see that much personal growth in Whitney like others here. She may not be screaming as much and saying fewer vulgar things, but she's still very self-involved and overly dramatic. When she was supposedly checking on Tal's mental health, all she did was talk about herself and rehash the same pity party about being 40 and single. Her treatment of Todd who has been a good friend to her for years is disgusting. She badmouths him to everyone and then at the birthday dinner he doesn't even get a gift. If the editing is to be believed, there is something seriously off with him. A good friend would be concerned about what is going on with him, not annoyed that he isn't around to indulge her whims. I understand getting stood up or bailed on at the last minute stinks. Been there myself as I am sure many have. However, Jessica calling Tal in a panic to come and counsel Whitney was annoying. I just think Whitney milked that to get attention yet again. I wonder if her actual therapist is able to get through to her at all. I agree with others that the flamenco performance was just another Whitney doing a dance recital so her family and friends can blow smoke about how great she is. All her dances look alike. Todd has such great balance and can move. He couldn't even get her to agree to do a full turn. Glenn needs to knock it off. Hunter and Karen are grown adults who don't need him to tell them when it is time to get engaged. I hope if they are engaged that the moment is private without Glenn and Whitney horning in. It still annoys me that she has to horn in on others' private moments like Jamie and her husband's first look at the wedding. I'm sure Hunter and Karen can look forward to Whitney following them around with a phone on a stick and stage whispering and gasping. It would be nice if what she said at the birthday dinner was truly how she felt. 40 was a long time ago for me and honestly my life has gotten better with age. There's a lot to be said for realizing that you have to live for you in the end, not follow others' scripts. And that 40 or any other age isn't one foot in the grave and life is over.

It makes me wonder if this was why Robyn looked so panicked during the talk back sessions. Maybe he has said too much already and the producers are going to happily air it as long as they can. He's already called several of his kids a$$holes on national TV, so what else has he said? -
I love that the siblings adopted Garrison's cats. That one is a lot like one of mine who always helps me work.
-
I fast forwarded through a lot of this. Moriah and Lydia's caterwauling scared my cats. I have no idea what the song was supposed to be about because the singing was just terrible. And Lydia complaining about singing about being a monster is so Lydia. And Kim looks silly in that leopard print getup. If she's so financially hard up, where did she get the money for a new bass? Ethan is a drip. Why is is going to a bar trying to pick up women? For the type of woman he wants, he should be going to a midsize or large evangelical church. There are lots of single women there who would fit his tradwife fantasy just fine. I'm not sure what the deal was with the woman he talked to as it seemed as if either she already knew him or was hired by producers. Micah and Veronica are so awkward. I'm confused as to why they needed champagne after buying a cocktail ring. I am even more confused as to why they were drinking through straws. Missed out on most of the bit with Olivia and her boyfriend. I hope she slows her roll. I don't think the guy has bad intent, but she is too ready to go wherever he is rather than figuring out what she wants. I think that's her sister's concern.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
Meow Mix replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Ok, I have so many questions about this. I hate to be negative, but starting and sustaining a farm is very hard work and even if you do a lot yourself it costs a ton of money. Neither Janelle nor Maddie have shown much in the way of follow-through skills. Janelle has tried several careers that she lost interest in and how many areas of study was Maddie passionate about that got dropped after a semester? Here are some questions about all this: Was the land purchased outright or is there a loan involved? They will need to take that into account if they have payments to make. What kind of infrastructure is on this land? Electricity, water, etc? Are there any buildings they can use since they think they are going to host weddings? If that stuff isn't there, what is their timetable for getting things into place? No one is going to be interested in using a wedding venue where they have to bring everything in themselves including porta potties. What are they going to grow? If it's pick your own, what are people going to be willing to go out there and pick? What will grow in NC? How will they handle weeds and pests? What is their plan for greenhouses, soil prep, infrastructure to host people? We have a farm about an hour from here that does a big business in the fall with pumpkins, hayrides, etc. They've been around forever and have built up with more stuff to do there over time. I'm sure there are more questions I'm not thinking of right now, but I wonder how many of these questions they have thought of. I guess it's good that they are selling T-shirts to raise money instead of begging with a GoFundMe and at least this isn't another scammy MLM, but I will be surprised if they make a go of this business. Maybe they're in talks with TLC to build a show around it. It would be fun to see Kody's head explode over that.
