  1. On the other hand: Paralympic Athlete Told Her Shorts Are Too Brief
  2. One thing I liked about the old Distractor was holding the reveal until the very last second. I guess though that was a bit unfair to the first competitor, since the second competitor had the advantage of seeing it and adjusting to it while the first competitor had to deal with the surprise.
  3. I enjoyed the round where they went through the Olympic cities, but I thought it went a bit long just for the purpose of eliminating a player in the final round. There should have been a points reward too. I agree Cooper would be a better host. Maybe next season? (If there is one)
  4. Probably not successfully for a lot of money, unless she actually came down with cancer, but maybe a malpractice case just on principle? I think the textured implant issue is a recent discovery, so probably not malpractice at the time they were put in. We didn’t notice much difference in the before and after photos either, but the improvement seemed more noticeable in the video clip.
  5. We watched the rerun at 8pm, and they promoted the 9pm show as the upcoming season premiere. Plus at the end of the 9pm show they showed a montage of some upcoming cases, like they would on a season premiere.
  6. Good catch. The show before this one was the first to use the logs (I know the prior two shows used different obstacles for the choice). They used 5 in that one and 4 in this Monday’s show. In fact I’m pretty sure the course preview Monday showed 5 rollers. Not sure 4 was easier than 5 if they are spaced further apart. In fact I think the only reason to change it was to make it harder so more people would choose the spinning blocks.
  7. I ended up being a bit disappointed in this. I think mostly because, having seen some of the original Belgian episodes, they are mirroring the plots very closely, at least for the first two episodes. Also, the original series had the benefit of being Belgian, which was unique and gave me a bit of an insight into Belgian society without worrying too much about the plot. Now we are in the UK, where we have a multitude of competing UK based detective and cop shows on TV and streaming, and I have a bit more critical eye on the mechanics of the plot which I found a bit simplistic. Perhaps this will get more complex plot wise or as a character study in upcoming episodes.
  8. Having watched two episodes back to back last night, I might be confused about which patient this was (I think it was the guy with the upper arm cyst), but I was sort of grossed out (ironically, given what you see on this show) to see two dirty shoes sticking out from under the sheet while Dr. Lee was doing her procedure. I realize this is not major surgery, but she exposes a lot of flesh when removing some of these lipomas and cysts and I thought leaving shoes on like this would be a no no from a sterility perspective.
  9. Huh. I’ve seen this pop up in my channel listings, but figured they were reruns of the Belgian series, which was shown here last year. Will have to check out the next showing.
  10. Pretty sure it was shown the same way in the movie. I thought the Statue of Liberty was in the background, or the prior shot.
  11. Right. Last season the zipline slammed people into the pole. This year, the zipline is stopping a bit short of the pole (maybe they had some injuries last year?), so people holding on to the end are having their legs swing forward when they let go and hit the pole legs first. They need to let go of the line when they still have forward momentum and are in a vertical position. Watching the kick boxer lady who wouldn't let go, I was wondering if she remembered one contestant last year who I think made it on Polecano. My fuzzy recollection is that he didn't let go of the line. They rewound it halfway, like her, but then since the he hit the pole with less force, he was able to hang on. This year it seems like you need to go full speed and release at the right time to throw yourself across the gap to the pole.
  12. I liked the new holes, but on the dinosaur hole, I'd like to see it have at least a slim possibility for the contestants not to fall in the mud. The last jump is just too far for anyone to make it.
  13. As someone who is even older than Brad, I’ve noticed that while I am generally good at Jeopardy and the multiple choice part of The Chase, I have problems with processing the rapid, entirely aural, parts of the cash builder and final chase rounds on the show. For me it seems to be both processing the question (which is easier visually) and the speed of recall under time pressure.

They kept saying that attendance was limited to 50%, but at centre court, except for some empty seats up high and at the far end, it sure didn’t look like it to me. Unless they meant attendance at the facility as a whole?
  15. I know there was one guy who made it last year, not sure if there was more than one. It looks like they changed the zipline a bit on Ho Ho Hole. It used to slam people into the pole on Polecano. Now it stops short, and you almost have to throw yourself at the pole.
  16. I thought the rugby player might have been short enough that she could almost shield herself behind the horse’s neck. Last week, I noticed a couple of contestants riding side saddle, which would seem to be a sure recipe for being knocked off.
  17. I think I discovered a sly art history joke in this show. Towards the end of episode 4 (after the catacombs scene), Pelligrini toasts Courbet with a drink and says “To the origin of the world, Courbet”. Courbet looks puzzled, and Pelligrini says “Money” with a chuckle. ”The Origin of the World” is a painting by Gustav Courbet, (in)famous for being a scandalous, very explicit female nude. Without getting graphic, I’d just say Courbet had a very different idea than money for the origin of the world. Being an art guy, I’m assuming Pelligrini was making a conscious joke to his money advisor.
  18. I wonder sometimes if they edit comments out. He was more loquacious and meaner on the daytime version. He might also be trying to tone it down for the larger primetime audience, given how social media works these days. I thought the first guy had more obscure questions than the other two contestants. I found Sarah’s shiny skin a bit distracting.
  19. Mika mentioned that Novak Djokovic defeated “Rafael” Tsitsipas (his first name is Stefanos) to win the French Open yesterday. I do wonder to myself whether she can’t read the teleprompter, or whether the staff that puts together the info for her to read is just incompetent.
  20. I’ve watched the first three episodes of part two with subtitles. A lot of this show still stretches disbelief plot wise. For example, why does Raoul’s kidnapper put him back in the car trunk? As for how he escapes, looking at the timing of events at the end of episode one, it seems hard to fit the pieces together reasonably (being purposely vague to avoid being too spoilery). And I’m still confused how Diop’s Plan B at the hotel in episode two came together timewise. However so far I think I’m enjoying it more than the first part.
  21. While I like that Sara is reading much more quickly, she doesn’t enunciate as clearly as Brooke, which makes her harder to understand.
  22. The line from the analyst was “We got a hit from the digital buoy. The article”. So it seemed to me it was either a planted article tagged to notify them when and where somebody looked at it, or they could have tagged pre-existing articles to notify them, I guess ( although saying “the” article makes it sound like there was only one). Then they connected to the cam to see her. I don’t think it was facial recognition software looking at all webcams.
  23. I’m trying to figure out why we are wearing fleece in Florida in May.
  24. If this is from the website she looked at ( I fast forwarded through part of the show so might have missed something) I assumed the story was a plant from the NSA agents looking for them, not real. i am a latecomer to the show but am rapidly losing interest. This show need more than the crisis of the week.
  25. I have to think Chameleon is a fairly well known entertainment or sports celebrity they are holding onto for the big reveal in the last show, otherwise he should have been gone a long time ago.
