  1. From what I read so far, it's doing well in the Thursday night spot. I just thought the two nights a week is because it's sweeps month
  2. I'm the opposite, I think Renner is more entertaining than Damon. He can pull off those Bruce Willis-everyman wise-ass-comedic action roles . I haven't seen an entire Damon-Bourne movie, because I end up changing the channel at some point. Damon is a bit on the bland side for me.
  3. I remember Matthew Perry from his 1987 sitcom on the brand new Fox network. He always had a bit of a lisp on his "s's". He also had different teeth back then . He got a Hollywood set when he hit big on Friends. Love Thomas Lennon, I miss Reno 911!
  4. I'm disappointed because I think most reboots or remakes are not very good: Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho, The Omen, The Pink Panther, some Kate Hudson romantic comedy that I recognized as a Debbie Reynolds movie... And as I mentioned in an earlier post, the ghosts look awful. When the media announced that it was a reboot, I wrote in another thread that I didn't want that,I want to see a sequel. I want to see female Ghostbusters , I think the actresses are fine. But I rather see Kate McKinnon as new character introduced to the Ghostbusters world. I don't think it's very hard to set up new characters and new locations.
  5. I'm female, grew up with the movie and in my circle of nerd friends (both male and female ) we pretty much consider Ghostbusters on the same level as the Godfather. The same level as Jaws, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark. Those type of blockbuster films. Now we're not frothing at the mouth in anger but most of us are just disappointed. I'm probably the biggest fan of Ghostbusters from my group, so I'm working on dealing with my disappointment. I remember my friend (who is a huge Star Wars fan) being very mopey when George Lucas' awful Episode One came out. We had a good laugh at that. Now it's my turn, lol. ETA: I think the movie is one of the top 30 greatest comedies of the American Film Institute. I had to check Wikipedia, I remember reading that a long time ago.
  6. The ghosts look horrible. I remember reading a quote from Feig that he was planning to make this "darker"?I think it was posted here a few months ago. They all look the same, except for Slimer.
  7. Just watched this version recently, and I like the leads and some of the cast. The rustic feel was hard to get to used to at first, but it didn't bother me too much. There were two things that bugged me though: Bingley. Why did they have to turn him into such a nincompoop? Darcy's "she's tolerable.." scene. I didn't like how that was staged especially showing Elizabeth's hurt feelings. Felt a little " high school", like if you shot that scene in a modern setting it would be Elizabeth hiding under the bleachers peeking at star quarterback Darcy.
  8. I'm really enjoying this show too. I read that the sequel to the Conjuring ( which is another good ghost story) will be about the Enfield Haunting as well.
  9. I'd like to check out that version, I watched a clip of the marriage proposal scene from the Laurence Olivier version and had to turn it off. It had a feeling of "screwball comedy ".
  10. I don't know if it's an UO, but I love Edwards' Operation Petticoat. I thought a repressed grumpy Cary Grant was kinda sexy.
  11. Watching the 1995 version again, I just love the actress who plays Lady Catherine. She can make me laugh and yet I also feel a bit sorry for her too. ETA: I also love shot of Darcy looking miserable as he watches the dancing couples and there is a painting of a soldier with his horse in the background but with a prominent view of the Horse's ass right next to Darcy. Nice suggestive angle, directors.
  12. In the book Molly leaves him. It's only in the Hollywood versions that he gets a happy ending. The only time he's brought up in Silence of the Lambs is when Jack warns Clarice about Hannibal, basically saying : don't end up like Will Graham, a drunk in Florida with an ugly face. Jack might have said his face was like a Picasso painting. I think Fuller said that he wanted to see ugly drunk Will get back in the saddle and go after Hannibal after what happened to Clarice in the third book. This may have been during the first San Diego Comic Con and I remember thinking ' hell yeah' . Now...I'm bummed because I can't envision that anymore. Boy I was a sucker.
  13. I don't think I can list a top 5. I liked Return to Me, but I like Duchovny's Connie and Carla more. Hitch is up there and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I loved the first Bridget Jones' Diary. Ewan McGregor and Renee Zelleweger did a Rock and Doris type romantic comedy called Down with Love. It wasn't successful but it sure looked pretty, and Ewan was smoking.
  14. I'm using Wen. I have thick curly hair that tends to be frizzy and dry . It takes care of the dryness. On humid says my hair still gets a bit kinky but it works more than my old products
  15. Didn't whatshername kill the hermit? Or he was already dead and Will just displayed his corpse ?
  16. I think Michael Pitt ( last season's Verger) was on Boardwalk Empire. I also recommend Jane Austen Book Club, I think Dancy steals the movie. He's very good in Hysteria and I was glad to read that he's going to be in a film with Rupert Everett ( his co-star). They were my favorites in the movie. Also recommend Adam, he's really good in it and carries that movie very well. Just for the eye candy: King Arthur and Blood and Chocolate
  17. Could be a SNL/Second City thing. The role was originally for Eddie Murphy. I hope Bill is playing Venkman.
  18. Actually, I think of Dolarhyde as the Wolfman because operates on the lunar cycle which I think is from the book and the references of how blood appears black in the moonlight. The Wolfman was a tragic monster, my favorite of the Universal movie monsters. I see Will as Frankenstein. I read somewhere that Harris envisioned him like a Frankenstein monster when discussing the subject of a possible Graham sequel novel. I can't be certain if that article exists but I'm wondering if Fuller is heading there since there is a big scar across Will's head. Hannibal always felt like a Dracula to me, ever since the Hannibal books. I called him the Dracula of serial killers. He's got the aristocratic charm, tragic past, and creepy castle. Just needs a cape.
  19. I can think of the recent D.C. murders: husband, wife, son, and housekeeper.
  20. The Invisible Man. The actor who played Debra Messing's best friend on Prey starred in the Invisible Man on SciFi. It's a comical cameo but it was a nice shout out to the fans who tried to save the show. He's snooping around and discovers a cell door. When he opens it, "Tom" from Prey comes out and escapes.ETA: I shouldn't have used "wrap up " , I guess it was more of a 'thank you' to fans.
  21. I was hooked on that as well. Did you know that Syfy, back when it was SciFi, did a cameo scene on another show to wrap up that cliffhanger?
  22. I didn't know they dated. Did the media tease them about being a couple. ..of Taylors, call them TnT, etc?
  23. Thank you, and Bloom County is the best
  24. Kyle looks amazing. I remember watching him on that show from '90s, the one about the magical newspaper. Very yummy. Speaking of magical shows, I used to watch Mysterious Ways because Adrian Pasdar was adorable. It's a shame he's been typecast as a villain or a macho heavy because he was so cute and funny back then
