I watched the Capote Tapes documentary recently, I think it was Kate that talked about being "banished" from home . I was curious what caused that.

My family still do a "Morning Sam" and "Morning Ralph" routine in the mornings.

Press Conference: The Law & Order Media Thread!

Not sure where to post this, I just discovered the podcast the other day, looking for something Halloween-ish. I am in the middle of it , his great-grandfather was quite a character. https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/12/entertainment/hugh-dancy-true-crime-podcast/index.html -
I think it will be Shandy that outs Colin. She is too much of a loose cannon and she works in PR.

I really want to see Rupert publicly humiliated in the tabloids at the end of this season. He's such a snake in the grass, it's time.

The whole bit of the Zava/Trent/Roy thing made me think it was nod to the Monty Python and the Holy Grail scene where the guards kept getting confused about who to guard: ""you stay here and make sure he doesn't leave".."Who ? The prince?..". Well done writers, I loved it. Bonus : Trent's flinch at "CRIMM!!"

Loved the Evil Empire vibe with Rupert's team. The office designs, everything. Even the assistant is almost droid like. "It's a car."

I really enjoyed this. The scene of the animated corpse and the quiet "wtf" reactions of the hunters sold me. I'd love to see another installment of this character

Reading about the passing of James Caan , I remember the first movie I saw him him in where he wasn't a "tough guy". It was Kiss Me Goodbye. I was a kid and it was a movie I watched with my mom on vhs . I haven't seen it in ages. My impression of the movie: Jeff Bridges was really cute and funny, the house was amazing and James Caan was tap dancing (!) and pretty cool.

I like to see it get Oscars in the technical categories.

I enjoyed the film as well, and this was my only nitpick. I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan so I was kind of thinking they could have scaled back Maverick's romance storyline and given more time to the younger cast.

R.I.P. Ray. I was a bigger fan of his light , comedic roles like Field of Dreams, Heartbreakers, and Wild Hogs. He was so fun to watch -
I really enjoyed it. I'm only familiar with this story from podcasts and the Clifton Webb movie version. I do feel like I have to do a rewatch to keep track of who's who in intelligence in that part of the film. I did enjoy Matthew's exasperated bit on "another writer?"

The soft cover songs bother me, I always think it sounds like a baby or someone waking up from a nap. "What are they saying? Is this a Bowie cover?"

Ditto. Paxton, Henrikson, & Goldstein did Near Dark after this, one of my favorite vampire movies.

I have a weird dislike for the When Calls The Heart programs. I've seen maybe 20 minutes of it and it just annoyed me. Too "squeaky clean" : the costumes, the hair, the makeup.. no one looked frumpy or disheveled from field work. I find it distracting and annoying .
