Episode 2 was aggravating. Why on earth is the annoying Julie Montagu getting so much screen time? She's an American who is much too young to have ever known Diana. Even as a Viscountess I don't think she runs in the same circles as Camilla or Charles so it's not like she has inside information. She's also not a writer or journalist who's studied the Royal Family for years. Hearing her state with conviction what Diana was feeling or thinking during certain times is utterly ridiculous. And calling Camilla a 'mean girl' for communicating with Diana seems a salacious projection. At the time of the engagement, Camilla was an ex-girlfriend who by all accounts genuinely cared deeply for Charles and wanted him to be happy. I can see Diana not wanting to hang out with her fiance's/husband's ex-girlfriend. But wasn't "let's all be friends" the preferred state of things back then? I'm also wondering if Diana is such a country girl, like she states in one of the voice overs, did she hate Balmoral and Highgrove so much? I'm sure it's impossible, but it would be nice to have a counter-point to Diana's interview tapes. Not that she's lying, but wouldn't her memories be tainted by what she was feeling at the time of the taping? By that time, they were both having affairs and seeing Charles getting back with Camilla when she was unable to find a comparable love for herself must have been a bitter pill.

If the first episode had followed the script of the description above, I would have turned it off after 5 minutes. St Diana is not an interesting narrative. I was pleasantly surprised. It seems to be a balanced view so far. It juxtaposed her awful childhood (I wasn't aware that her father would slap her mother across the face in view of their children) and Charles' (how solitary and alone he was as a child). It seems that a number of people thought their emotional issues would bond them together. Of course, neither of them ended up capable of supporting the other's emotional neediness. I'm interested enough to watch episode 2.

Plus, how boring to ride and have no other kids screaming and laughing! That's the joy of that kind of ride - a whole bunch of little ones sharing a great time. Poor Stormi. I'm sure famous/rich people have to worry about kidnappers, but somehow Bill Gates and Bruce Springsteen managed to raise children who seem to be able to be out in the world.

I really loved the first 2 seasons. This Oregon trail scenario had such potential but the writers seem to have run out of ideas. The sex orgy stuff was just lazy. What was the point? Ooh! Look! Bare butts! The only thing I liked was the Miami Trail. How lucky these survivors had enough money for the fare in a luxury stagecoach!

Did someone tell Kylie that lace monstrosity was attractive? On anybody? Maybe stick thin Kendall could pull it off, but Kylie just looks lumpy.

I think it's 3 strikes and you're out so hopefully this is the end of Kimmie pretending to be a lawyer. If she wants to use her celebrity to highlight a cause, such as wrongly incarcerated people, then God Speed. It seems like an odd cause for her to champion, but if it raises the profile of someone wrongly convicted, more power to her. It's her arrogance of thinking she could just sit at home with people prepping her and giving her customized versions of the exam for practice and then pass the test with flying colors that ticks me off.

How does Jared reconcile this ret-con with tweeting about being "gutted" about the news?

It was an interesting episode, but I was disappointed they didn't go back to the Reno theory from the prior episode. Josh seemed to support the theory that Cooper didn't actually jump until the plane was descending into Reno, and therefore was able to land in a large open area, miles away from where the authorities would search for him. If that was discredited later, it would have been nice to say why in this follow-up.

I hope Simone Biles feels able to make her own decision about competing in the individual all-around and the individual event finals. I can just imagine some people having a fit if she dropped out of competing for the US team, but still went out for individual medals. She needs to be able to control her own decisions. I can't imagine anything worse than attempting her incredibly difficult routines if she's having focus problems. That would be so dangerous.

The trailers for this look fun, but my stupid cable company doesn't get NBC so I won't be able to watch it.

Thanks everyone for the explanations! I hope if Cavendish is in contention at the end, that the other rider's don't slow down to give him the win - even one of his teammates. Beating Merckx's record is meaningless if Cavendish doesn't have to earn it. I heard a commentator saying Wout van Aert would be the "villain" if he sprinted past Cavendish at the end.

I know Pogacar is far ahead. Maybe my memory is faulty. I seem to remember watching past finales where the last day was ceremonial, not a real race day. Everyone basically finished in the same order they were in on Saturday.

Can someone alleviate my ignorance about the Tour's final stage? I thought the final stage was basically a triumphant joy ride, where people pretty much stay in the order they were on Saturday. But people are saying Cavendish is going to go for the stage win in order to beat Merckx's record. Doesn't the yellow jersey always finish first on Sunday?

Slightly off-topic. Did anyone see UFO's Discovery Live? Josh Gates hosted and Jessica was the "assistant". It was horrible. They made UFO's boring! And Jessica gushing "Dr O! You're so smart!" to the astronomer was so cringeworthy.

I just rewatched the first season. Does anyone know what happened to Elyse? Did she ever go to medical school? I think she did some modeling in Asia after the show.
