Dave is spot-on with this one. Vegetables have no place in cake!

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

Part of the reason my doctor retired when he did was because he wasn't "allowed" to have longer appointments. He said he missed spending time with his patients, but was required to book 15-minute appointments. -
But the principal of the school (Gemma) didn't win the tickets. Calvin did, and gave them to Tina, who invited Gemma and Dave. I liked the re-creation of the picnic and the macaroni necklace at the end. And I really liked that everyone got in the photo, too.

The most instagettiest of instagets for me tonight. Nice change of pace from the blank stares of last week. And I hope I didn't just jinx the rest of this week! I also got Libya, Mauna Loa, pine tree, and crayfish. Libya was a total guess, though.

Will Skipper be in it? Will the "Growing Up Skipper" be in it?
-
Ooooh, I can totally see that.

My regular store has a cooler near the checkout lanes that has just milk and orange juice.

I'm not a fan of side-by-side refrigerators because each side is not wide enough for some things I want to refrigerate or freeze. My parents have a French door fridge, and I like it okay, but it is easy to lose things in the freezer compartment. My tiny little house doesn't have enough room for a French door fridge. -
Pies other than apple never occurred to me. Most, if not all, the apple pies I’ve encountered have had a lattice crust.

The "dial of destiny" reminds me of the alethiometer from His Dark Materials.

2/5 this week, with an asterisk for today.

I waffled between Venezuela and Colombia, flipped a coin, and it came up Colombia. Good for me! That FJ was harder than it should have been. I also got the TS of Debussy, oscillation, Dutch East Indies Company, aquiline, and reticulated.

I do have a nice round platter from the Dollar Tree. It's glass and everything! My oval platters are plastic and from Target. No idea how they'd hold up to a dishwasher, though. I don't have a dishwasher -- I AM the dishwasher!

I have a set of Corelle that I use all the time. My "good" dishes are depression glass. I use the salad plates from that set all the time as Corelle doesn't have a good equivalent. I'll also use the large bowls from the depression glass set if I need "fancy" dishes for a potluck or something.

Some knowledge of geography would have helped me tremendously tonight. I had no idea for FJ, as I had no idea where Strasbourg is. I did at least get the TS of Mediterranean and Arthur Murray.

I didn't notice a resemblance to Hitler. I paid more attention to his Tennessee Orange shirt and tie. Looking at his photo on jeopardy.com, I see more Oliver Hardy than Hitler.

It reminded me a lot of the episode in the original series where Darlene developed a crush on some boy (Barry?), borrowed Becky's clothes and tried to flirt. There were some great bloopers during the credits for that ep.

Darlene's sexy dance was hilarious.

The only movie based on a play with three characters that I could think of was so far off the mark, I'm embarrassed to name it. (Doubt) I was sure I'd get an 80s movie right, too! I feel like I saw all the movies in the 80s! And I saw the one for FJ, but I don't think I would ever have come up with it. But at least I got some TS. Only three, but better than nothing. They were Lake Lucerne, Murder on the Orient Express, and Star of Bethlehem.

Thundersnow! I've only heard that once -- it's pretty cool. We are currently about 80 degrees and partly cloudy. I think it's meant to rain later, and then get cooler this weekend (60s for highs).

Almost instaget FJ for me tonight. I was momentarily distracted by something shiny, then re-read the clue and paid attention, and got it immediately. I also got the TS of Mount Doom, sword, sympathy, Winslow Homer, and Lake Erie. I mostly rooted for Brian. He lost me a little when he said, "Thank God" or whatever it was when Ken told him he was back in the lead.

It wasn't as bad as the one in Pretty In Pink, but it wasn't all that. None of the wedding dresses we saw were all that, in my opinion. I'm not in NY, but I have driven four hours across Virginia to have lunch, and then come back home.

I'm jealous! I hope you were having fun!

No idea for FJ tonight. I did figure out that it was something in Europe, and probably had to do with WWII (tanks), but beyond that, had nothing. I got the TS of shadows, pumice, old school, and fast track.
