  1. I finally figured out who William reminds me of -- Ray from Speechless. I don't want any of them to win, after that stupid miming at the beginning. And Drhuv needs to learn to use his inside voice. Because this is a two-game final, I didn't pay much attention tonight, but I said Gettysburg for FJ. And I've been to Arlington Cemetery. Boo, hiss.
  2. There was an article in my local paper yesterday about a woman who donated a kidney to her twin. I wondered why she couldn't donate one of her hearts. :)
  3. I sort of knew the Bible passage, but I actually just knew the Latin for all three words. I still don't like the way the clue was worded, though.
  4. And speaking of douche-baggish miming, the guys tonight did it, too. I missed Alli's intro, so I don't know what (if anything) she did. Either way, I was rooting for her. Boo hiss. I thought FJ was kind of oddly worded. I wasn't exactly sure what they were looking for -- I initially thought some sort of sentence, too, but settled on just translating the three main words. I really didn't think that was it, though. Imagine my surprise when I was right! TS I got included Honest Trailers, Kaiser, Regina (which hopefully they would have accepted without the province name), waffle, Richmond, and teak. I am not looking forward to the next two days, but I'm rooting for Hannah.
  5. Thatcher displayed some general douche-baggish miming in the intro, too.
  6. Quite the opposite -- Killmonger said the sun would never SET on Wakanda (much like the British Empire at one time), meaning he and Wakanda would rule/own the world.
  7. A million times this! For both sentences! Thatcher bugged me to no end, and I couldn't even listen to the other guy's story because of the vocal fry thing he had going on. Yay, Hannah! FJ was an instaget, and I'm glad Hannah didn't get scared by the category. It momentarily worried me, but then I remembered that this was the College Tournament, and knew it wouldn't be anything too obscure. I also got silver, copper (thanks, Chemistry!), Appaloosa, the surprising TS of Daisy Ridley, and whisper campaign.
  8. I'm sorry Rebecca lost! But she played a good game. And good on all of them for getting FJ -- Mythology is generally beyond me, and I had no clue today.
  9. Oh! That makes me terribly sad! I LOVED him on Cheers -- Harry the Hat! -- and he was wonderful as Judge Stone, too. :(
  10. They're probably the same women who forget they have an IUD and panic about whether or not they've taken/packed their Pills.
  11. I barely watched, and didn't write down any TS, but there did seem to be quite a lot of them. I did think the one girl needed a BMS for Castro -- what if she meant Kit Castro??? Wyoming was an odd choice for FJ. Virginia was only marginally less odd, but he made a smart wager, shooting for the wild card spot.
  12. Maybe the neighbors had the good grass.
  13. If Sheldon had used one of those grippy things, that might have been enough science to open the jar of jam. I science the shit out of jar lids, and still need the grippy thing. Or, since I also work in a lab, a nitrile glove in lieu of a grippy thing. (What are those things called, anyway?)
  14. You may have answered your own question about why Harry didn't stay in New Jersey for college.....
  15. At least she had the right author! No partial credit in Jeopardy!
  16. THANK you, @LadyKenobi! If I could like your post on tornadoes multiple times, I would! At least they didn’t have the tornado itself lasting for an hour or more, as I’ve seen other shows do.
  17. I thought the quilting bee was a cover — they’d sew for a bit, just to get Amy a little worked up, then bring in male dancers or something. Or even just say, “Gotcha!” and then take her out. I was surprised it was the real thing. Also? You don’t generally sew the front and back of the quilt together until the front is all pieced together.
  18. Good Lord, I think this episode broke me. From the inanity that was Carsen's opening to the bouncing all over the damn place, not to mention the starting with the highest value clue, I could barely watch. I will say that at least the least objectionable contestant won -- Rebecca -- and I doubt either of the other two (certainly not the guy) has a chance at a wild card. For FJ, I could only think of one museum in France, and fortunately it was the correct choice.
  19. I own an iron. I might even be able to find it in a pinch, but I have no earthly idea when I used it last.
  20. Just because it's acceptable, doesn't make it right. Or me happy about it! :)
