  1. @Toothbrush, I live in the south, and still had to shovel a foot of disgusting, heavy, wet snow this past weekend!
  2. Their boards at the end showed Tristan's with $1000 and Vicky's with $2000.
  3. Well, at least Tristan was a one-and-done, but Johnny is insufferable. I hope he's a one-and-done, too. Vicky just looked lost, bless her heart. I hated this game so much that I have no idea whether or not I got any TS. I know there were a couple I didn't get -- and no one got them because they didn't understand the category/clue because they started in the middle! There is a reason (other than my preference) to start with the easier clues at the top! FJ should have been, well, maybe not an instaget, but certainly gettable, but I missed it! Probably because I hated the game so much.
  4. It is, but he was not completely ignorant of things like payroll and budget, since at one point, he had 11 guys working for him. I absolutely agree, though, that opening a bike shop without doing some market research was a bad bad idea.
  5. Dan's drywall business was owned by Dan -- the bank guy said as much when they went for a loan for the motorcycle shop. And since Dan seemed to do pretty well with the drywall, I suspect he did have a pretty good idea of how to run a business.
  6. I can't believe they showed a picture of cheese for the sage/cheese clue! That one was almost so easy it was confusing. Also, Daniel, when someone says "spider" don't then say "tarantula" -- a tarantula is a spider. I also said stuffing, and believe it would have been accepted, as the terms are pretty much interchangeable in my family. Other TS I got were 409, GE, bellicose, potbelly, Ashley Judd, and of course, scorpion. I do really hope Tristan is a one-and-done. He was killing that buzzer in the second round -- not as bad as Daniel, but close. Plus that whole not starting at the tops of categories thing, y'know. I felt bad for Lynn -- tough way to lose. Neverland briefly crossed my mind for FJ, but I got to Treasure Island in time.
  7. Yay, I found last night's game, and padded the DVR time enough to catch it all -- it was about 30 minutes late. Natasha bugged me from the get-Go (see what I did there?), between her silly wave thing and then starting with the second clue down. I'm glad she didn't win. I also said Italy for FJ, but didn't think it was right. I just couldn't think of anything else! I did, however, get high C, Bernadette, cloud forest, pressure, and Lebanon. Hopefully I've padded the DVR time enough for tonight's game -- catch y'all tomorrow!
  8. All the more reason to turn off your phone and put the damn thing away during a movie!
  9. As I remember, Jackson and Shelby fought about kids because she wanted them and he didn't -- and the main reason he didn't is because he knew how hard it would be on her (and that it might kill her). I agree, though, that she was selfish -- she didn't need to try to repopulate the world. The play was written to demonstrate not that southern women are strong relative to women in other regions, but strong relative to the men surrounding them. They could have been women anywhere, but the author and his family just happened to be from the south. Anytime I see a pink room, I usually describe it as painted blush and bashful.
  10. So Alex will talk about Willy Wonka with Lisa but won't talk about it with someone who was actually in the movie? That makes sense, as Alex always does. [/sarcasm] Yay, Rebecca! What was up with Lisa leaning all over the place when the FJ category was revealed? Did she do that for her other games and I just didn't notice? Not sorry to see her go. FJ was the instagettiest of all instagets for me. I also got the TS/missed DD of Glory Days, New York Post, Saturn, and Ally McBeal. I absolutely hated Ally McBeal, and possibly only watched one episode, but remembered that Portia DeRossi was on it, starving herself like all the other women. Glory Days was a guess, based on the "they'll pass you by" part of the clue. And now I have to figure out when tomorrow's and Friday's episodes are going to air. Stupid basketball.
  11. Are you talking about the Bath Fitter tub/shower insert that just fits down over your existing tub? If so, I can't speak to that specifically, but I do have an insert from a big box store, and it is far far easier to keep clean than tile with all that annoying grout. And of course, my Hurricane Spin Scrubber makes it even easier. :) But yes, actual Bath Fitter is terribly expensive.
  12. If she continues to win, I'm sure we'll find out!
  13. Another game where I really couldn't root for any of them, but John was the least objectionable. He was a bit slow to start. Second choice was Lisa -- AJ offended me by wearing that jacket (first impressions count!), then by behaving like he needed to KILL that buzzer. Ugh. I only got Star Trek and Elgar, and had absolutely no clue for FJ. I probably couldn't have even come up with something inane like the Battle of Rome.
  14. I never watched Mr. Rogers when I was little, but I want to see this, too!
  15. The woman throwing the stick and the guy tossing the ball slayed me!
  16. There's a Ford commercial running now, where the teenagers are admitting to bad behaviours, and complaining that the cars won't let them behave badly -- one kid says, "something's wrong with the car -- it won't go faster than 65!" Another one complains that all his calls mysteriously go to voice mail while he's driving, and I don't remember the third one. No kid ever in the history of driving would ever admit to things like that. I mean, the speeding one probably isn't even driving anywhere where the speed limit is higher than 65! Even now, and I am considerably past my teenage years, I don't tell my parents I exceed the speed limit!
  17. Bye, Rahul! Don't let the door hit you on the way out! The new champ was slow to pick (and answer), though, so I'm not necessarily a fan. I was rooting more for the other guy, but honestly, none of them winning would have been okay, too. I'm sure FJ was an instaget for most (if not all!) of you, but I had an attack of severe mental flatulence, and could not come up with a single thing. New champ might not have looked happy about her wager, but she did exactly the right thing -- if you have a lock game, no need to get greedy. I answered body scanner for the TSA clue where they wanted X-ray and wonder if that would have been accepted. I did get goat, ointment, Hanford, Jane Fonda and Robert Redford, and Sea of Cortez.
  18. https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/19/entertainment/renee-zellweger/index.html Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland? Nope. Nopity nope nope nope.
  19. Yes, and yes. I recommend padding the time for your DVR -- I generally set it for the maximum overrun (60 minutes, I think, for mine). We could probably set a manual timer, too, but I'd have to figure out how! :)
  20. I first thought Minotaur, then changed to Cerberus, but changed back to Minotaur because of the "both ears" part of the clue. I really didn't think Minotaur was right, but Cerberus has six ears! Oh well. And just in case there hasn't been enough vitriol spewed towards Rahul, add mine to the bucket. I HAAAAAATE his stupid-ass board jumping and DD hunting. So very annoying, and I'm not sure whether I'm happy or not that I found this episode and recorded it. I did get Bosc, the surprising TS of pineapple, Nicholas II, and Miami. Hawaii = pineapples, y'all.
  21. I have four pairs of Keds — one green, one purple, and two that used to be white, but aren’t anymore since I use them for gardening and yard work. LOL
