  1. I swear I’ve read every post! I just don’t read those books, and simply couldn’t remember the name. :( @CarpeDiem54, word to your entire post, though I thought bobblehead doll....
  2. FJ would have been a heckuva lot easier (and I might even have gotten it!), if I actually read serial mysteries like that. I absolutely knew which series the clue referenced, but could have stood there for days and days and never come up with the correct response. Since I don't read that genre (drink!), I get the authors mixed up. Boo hiss. However, I seem to be pretty good with clues that reference animals -- I got zebra (crossing), weasel, and ostriches. I also got the non-animal one of showerhead, which the new champ should have gotten since there was an entire episode of Seinfeld that dealt with low-flow showerheads. I am over the new champ already.
  3. I disagree. Ignorance is just a lack of information.
  4. Just don’t take your Junior Mints in with you [/Seinfeld]
  5. I’ve been watching MASH a lot lately in reruns, and while Hawkeye is persistent in his pursuit of women, when they say no, he does back off. It seems like they all have his number — and in some of the earlier ones, he’s somewhat monogamous with recurring characters.
  6. Woo hoo! I got FJ right tonight! Actually, I thought it was an easy one, and would also love to know what the woman on the end was thinking with “Waiting For Godot”. I remember the Vincent controversy, and am not sad he lost. Again. TS/missed DD I got include Maple Leafs, Charlotte, rainbow, and Hell’s Canyon. I probably should have gotten escalator, but I tend to associate Otis with elevators, and I just couldn’t make that fit the category.
  7. My niece and nephew (not twins!) shared a room until the older one was about 11 or 12. My cousin has boy/girl twins, and they also shared a room until about that same age. My brother moved house so the kids could have their own rooms, but I'm not sure how my cousin solved the issue.
  8. That scene, and the way Larry Linville delivered the line, always breaks my heart just a little bit, despite what a jerk Frank was in general.
  9. This was the clue: "Darwin's finches writ large" is how Carl Safina describes this soaring bird; the waved type here in the Galapagos is the only truly tropical type, & it has evolved distinct markings that help provide its name" And the bird is the Waved Albatross. They're pretty cool, and are huge!
  10. It was awesome! I loved every minute of it, and it's on my list of places to revisit sometime.
  11. I actually thought of you, @M. Darcy, when the category came up! I knew you'd get it!
  12. Well, I'm off to a great start -- I had no clue for FJ today. I'm glad Nancy won, though. Rob couldn't even stand still during the intros, and William lost me when he started in the middle of the category in DJ. There were so many "Good for you!"s tonight that I lost count! I had pennies in my penny loafers back in the day. I wonder what happened to those shoes, and if I took the pennies out... I was disappointed they left the Galapagos category until last, but I'm glad they got through all the clues. I ran that one, and it's Alex's fault because I succumbed to his entreaty to go there with Nat Geo Lindblad Expeditions. Well worth it, IMO. There were an awful lot of TS this game, and I'll have to correct Alex on the MPG for the Honda Insight -- the newest version actually gets better mileage than that. I test drove one the other day, and it was very nice. Anyway, in addition to Honda, I also got Buster Brown, Sad Sack, Hurricane Hugo, albatross, succulent, flinch, Latinate, and magnetic.
  13. I am finding it challenging to choose a team to root for. There is at least one (and in several cases, two!) contestant I can't abide on each team. I may have to skip this gimmick entirely.
  14. I knew Segovia, but his name would not come to the front of my brain in time. I could picture him in my head, but the name completely escaped me. Boo hiss.
  15. Overall, I’m at a solidly bad 4/10 afer today’s show. Until I started keeping track, I thought I was fairly good at this game!
  16. Dammit, Kyle! I really hoped he’d win again. Rob with his crazy buzzer antics in the first part and then all the swaying in the second kinda bugged me. I initially wanted to root for Dino, and hope his home in Fayetteville is okay, but he has problems using his inside voice. The only TS I got was Catahoula, and I also said azure for FJ. I probably never would have come up with turquoise, as I associate that more with the American southwest than with Europe or Asia. Mind you, I had no idea what country “azure” might refer to, but it was all I had!
  17. Count me in the crowd who believes Bucky should NOT have gotten credit for wool!
  18. Noah was a particularly goofy guess for FJ, which was an instaget for me, and brings me to 4/9. Hooray for Kyle again! The woman would have been fine, too, but Bucky annoyed me from the start. It didn't hurt my feelings when he was going backward. I only got two TS -- Bering and Baltic.
  19. Anything would look better than the Jim Carrey one, as long as it doen’t have Jim Carrey.
  20. It was to Atlanta from Virginia. And yes, @lb60, I did do that on porpoise! LOL
