  1. I think the EPs have to have it work this way because, with Oliver gone, they need to work Laurel into a leadership role on Team Arrow. So she has to be the one to pull the team together (esp. since she would never follow someone else's orders). Like Season 1 Oliver, Laurel has to be the one to convince Diggle and Felicity to join her mission and essentially become her team. That way, when Oliver returns, she can be regarded as an equal co-leader with Oliver (even though she still can't fight worth a damn). If Diggle is the one to pull the team together, then he would naturally be the leader. I hope I'm wrong. though, and that Diggle does lead Team Arrow in Oliver's absence. But it would be OOC at this point for Laurel to think she doesn't have anything to contribute. There was an old BBC mini-series on Robin Hood starring Michael Praed. At the end of the first season, Robin is killed and his gang falls apart. The next season, someone else (Jason Connery) takes over as Robin Hood but that person has to first track down the old gang of merry men and convince them to join him in the fight again. The leader is the one who pulls the team together. To clarify, I wasn't suggesting that Sin was the BC in the promo. It was just wishful thinking on what will never be.

  3. Sleepy Hollow - Episode 2.14 - Kali Yuga - Press Release Posted by Paradox at Thursday, January 08, 2015 http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/01/sleepy-hollow-episode-214-kali-yuga.html
  4. Gregory's going to win. The signs are all there.
  5. I agree. All too often, I see a supposedly "strong" woman depicted in a very one-dimensional way - as someone super bitchy, as someone who can fight, or as someone who insists on getting her own way all the time.
  6. In that promo, we see Laurel as the BC kicking someone with her leg. But we've never seen Laurel train to fight with her legs or even do any conditioning to build up strength in her legs. We've only ever seen her build up her shoulder and arm muscles. So realistically if she kicked someone with her leg, she'd likely hurt her leg and not have the leg strength to make a dent in that guy. Anyway, nothing in that promo makes me want to watch Ep. 310. I think someone suggested this once - that Sin would be the more logical successor to Sara as the Black Canary. She was kinda Sara's protege. Sin is still young enough to be trainable into a believable martial artist, and she doesn't have a full-time job to distract her from training. She has no real ties to Starling City. She has no trust or respect for the authorities or the justice system. I could see her being willing to join the LOA in order either to avenge Sara's death or get the needed training so that she'll never be a victim. I could see Nyssa taking Sin under her wing. Unfortunately, I don't think the EPs will go that route. Most likely, Guggenheim will have Laurel undergo martial arts training during the summer hiatus and return next season magically transformed into an expert martial artist. Worse, maybe he'll have Nyssa or Ra's(!) take an interest in high-maintenance Laurel for some ludicrous reason and train her, but for some contrived reason, don't force her to leave the city and join the LOA as an assassin.
  7. My fear is that the Season 4 poster will feature Oliver bracketed by Roy and Laurel (in costume), with Diggle and Felicity relegated to the background.
  8. If EBR isn't included at both the TCAs and PaleyFest, then it really would seem like Felicity is being pushed back in order to promote Laurel on the show. I don't know if that would be the reason, but that certainly would be the impression. And my cynical side is saying that the only reason Diggle was included in that twitter "heroes and villains" collage was either (1) so they don't get criticized for lack of diversity or (2) because Diggle is going to turn out to be a DC superhero. Otherwise, it would probably be limited to characters with comic book monikers - Arsenal, Black Canary, (Green) Arrow, Atom, Ra's al Ghul, and The Dark Archer.
  9. That's because Felicity isn't considered a "hero" because she's not in costume and/or out in the field fighting. She's computer support. (sarcasm) I swear, every time some fan insists that Laurel has to be the Black Canary because of comics, I just want to respond that the Black Canary has to be a martial artist and one of the greatest fighters in the DC universe because of comics - but Laurel has yet to take one martial arts lesson.
  10. You would think not. But does what's going to happen with Laurel on Arrow (as spoiled) make sense? Does the Sleepy Hollow show runner's continued focus on Katrina make sense? Did How I Met Your Mother's series finale make sense? I've given up trying to figure out why show TPTBs do what they do.
  11. Since some of you have expressed an interest in Amanda Schull (Suits, 12 Monkeys), here's a Katrina spoiler: http://tvline.com/2015/01/07/once-upon-a-time-season-4-rumbelle-reunion-spoilers/
  12. I ordinarily wouldn't post Flash news here but, given the number of Spartacus actors that have appeared on Arrow... ‘The Flash’ Casts ‘Spartacus’ Star Liam McIntyre as Weather Wizard 2.0 http://screencrush.com/the-flash-liam-mcintyre-weather-wizard-mark-mardon/

  14. At this point, if Felicity is reduced back to a secondary character at the end of this season because the EPs want to focus on the costumed "superheroes", then I want DC Comics to sell the rights to her character to Marvel, and then have Marvel give Felicity her own show - hopefully, one as well done as Agent Carter.
  15. I think that as long as KC is on the show, she'll be the Black Canary (whatever that means). I mean, c'mon, she's using the pic of Laurel in BC costume as her twitter avatar: https://twitter.com/mzkatiecassidy
  16. I loved the first two episodes of Agent Carter that aired last night! While I think it would be helpful to watch Captain America: The First Avenger (the first CA movie) in order to fully appreciate Peggy's feelings of loss over Steve Rogers' "death", it's not necessary. Tuesday is going to be my fun TV night, with The Flash at 8, Agent Carter at 9 and Person of Interest at 10. It'll be a much needed midweek break, since I don't see myself looking forward to Arrow any more - at least not for the foreseeable future. Now I wish more than ever that they'd shorten Arrow's season to 13 episodes, tighten up the series to focus on Oliver and stop diluting the episodes with B plots involving other "superheroes", and give those other superheroes their own limited-run series. Then the Atom series and BC series could sink or swim on their own.
  17. I loved these two episodes! Much superior to the early episodes of Agents of SHIELD. It also helps that Hayley Atwell is very talented and has tons more charisma than Clark Gregg right off the bat. They should've eliminated the first half of season 1 of AOS and replaced it with Agent Carter. The CA clips actually helped to give some backstory to Peggy and her sorrow over Steve's 'death', so I didn't mind them. That Steve and Peggy never got to dance still breaks my heart. (Agent Carter immediately made an impression in CA: The First Avenger - unlike that bland Agent 13 played by Emily VanKamp in CA: The Winter Soldier.) Peggy is badass, really competent, somewhat snarky but self-aware, and humorous. She also can be vulnerable and too arrogant. HA does quite a good American accent but I prefer her natural voice. I also love that she's not your typical Hollywood size 0 actress. Her interactions with Howard, Jarvis and Angie were all great. Her SSR male colleagues are question marks right now. I agree that there's more to Angie than meets the eye. As others have said, you don't cast Lyndsy Fonseca if she's not going to kick butt at some point (unless the actress was just looking for a change of pace role). My guess is that she's a freelancer hired by Howard to back up Peggy if needed. I have a feeling there's more to Jack (Chad Michael Murray) and Daniel (Enver Gjokaj) than meets the eye as well. And yeah, as thuganomics85 noted, Everything was stylish and period, even the background music. I also wish we were getting more than 8 measly episodes.
  18. I've given up on trying to defend Katrina, especially after this episode. Her character needs either to be killed off or to go evil. However, I do think Katrina made a good point when she said to Abbie something about how Abbie wouldn't be so quick to kill the Headless Horseman (HH) if Abraham had been Abbie's friend. That made me think that I would've preferred if Orion had killed Abraham/HH. But instead of the HH power going to Orion, it went immediately into Frank, making Frank the new HH. Then in later episodes, Frank/HH kills Katrina and a few townspeople. Then Ichabod would be on a rampage for revenge and want to kill Frank/HH, while this time Abbie would want to try to save/redeem Frank/HH and find a way to separate him from the HH avatar. Or, if not Frank, maybe the new HH would be Sheriff Corbin, who's been stuck in Purgatory all this time. If I remember, Clancy Brown plays a good bad guy really well - he was a memorable Victor Kruger (The Kurgan) in that Highlander movie with Christopher Lambert. Anyway, the point is that it's easier to advocate killing a stranger than a friend.
  19. He's hoping you'll watch because you like Diggle so much, and now you know he's got scenes with at least two different characters in 310. It's the likeability-by-association strategy. Put disliked character together with liked characters - or even just their names together - as much as feasibly possible, and hope the likeability rubs off.

  21. Hmm, maybe Guggenheim needs to issue another protestation that the next 3 eps. are not - definitely, absolutely not - a BC arc, since no one appears to be listening... http://comicbook.com/2014/12/31/arrow-midseason-premiere-left-behind-official-synopsis-released/ I doubt very much that Laurel will give up superheroing, but I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised if that happens.
