  1. That producer's preview - I have to admit, Barry's two one-liners made me smile.
  2. For those who can't read the CraveOnline article, here's some relevant portions:
  3. Hey, Oliver - now that you know you aren't going to die alone in the Arrowcave (cuz you can't still be crime-fighting at age 86, right?), will you now rethink your whole "I can't be the Arrow and Oliver Queen" attitude?
  4. There's other parts of this IGN interview as well (see link below)... AGENTS OF SHIELD EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ON THE BIG EVENTS IN THE SEASON 2 FINALE AND SETTING UP SEASON 3 12 MAY 2015 BY AMY RATCLIFFE http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/13/agents-of-shield-executive-producer-on-the-big-events-of-the-season-2-finale
  5. I enjoyed this finale a lot more than I expected I would, although a little too much Coulson and Skye for me. (shrug) And when did hacker Skye become such a fighting machine? I know she trained with Ward and May, but still it's only been about a year, right? And Skye as leader of any team? Really? Some of the surprises were telegraphed. Raina confronts Jiaying alone and in the dark. Of course she's going to get herself killed. Simmons hints to Fitz that she might be amenable to something more than friendship. Of course something bad was going to happen to one of them. I would've enjoyed the finale more if I wasn't reminded of other shows in certain aspects: Jiaying sucking the life out of that poor guy = Jasmine sucking the life out of her followers (Angel)* Mack cutting off Coulson's hand to stop the spread of the stone infection = Rick cutting off Herschel's foot to stop the spread of the zombie infection (The Walking Dead) (* In Whedon's world, if a benevolent leader seems too good to be true, she's probably a life-sucking demon.) I'm glad Ward stayed evil, but head of HYDRA? Really? That just downgrades HYDRA's threat level several notches. At the end, I would've liked a scene with Lincoln to find out what happens to him and the other Inhumans. As it is, he pretty much disappeared once the fight ended. And the other Inhumans are where? Instead we just got more Coulson and Skye. (eye roll) ETA: Corrected - I meant Jasmine (played by Gina Torres), not Glory.
  6. Here's one person's predictions for the finale... Arrow: Five Predictions For Season Three's Finale By Andrew Steinbeiser 05/13/2015 http://comicbook.com/2015/05/12/arrow-five-predictions-for-season-threes-finale/

  12. I laughed when I read this sarcastic comment - because TOO TRUE. The Porsche should've been a big clue that it was just a dream. But alas... hope dies hard. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Oliver ends up alone at the end of this season. Now I think the EPs broke up the original Team Arrow, in part because Felicity and Diggle were making Oliver too happy and too likeable. Between MG's comments about Oliver not being likeable, and last night's Flash dis of Oliver (Joe basically said that Barry was a good hero and Oliver was a bad hero, and Barry didn't even defend Oliver), the EPs really do seem to want Oliver to be that kind of anti-hero that you find difficult to like and who can't find happiness. P.S. Origin of the Butterfly Effect - subsequently immortalized in Ray Bradbury's short story, A Sound of Thunder.
  13. I've done my share of complaining about the problems with this season. But we haven't even seen the finale yet, so we don't know for sure what's going to happen. Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of Dougherty's anticipatory negativity based on what he assumes is going to happen. Even if he's correct, I'm just hoping for some happiness somewhere before this season ends.

  16. Weren't we already wondering how the show could go on, since the show is called Arrow and everyone in SC now believes Roy Harper was the Arrow and that the Arrow is now dead? That's the key question. They can find a new lair and they can rebuild relationships. But how do they again have an Arrow vigilante in SC? I would say that they all relocate to another city, but that future headline referred to Green Arrow being from Starling City. Methos was my fave character on Highlander. I used him for comparison only for the plot device of having a powerful guy masquerading as a normal guy. No other comparison to Malcolm. Although I would point out that, even though Methos ended up helping Duncan, IIRC, he did start out as one of the Four Horsemen and did a lot of evil back in the day. But current day Methos, as played by PW, was just so charismatic and likeable.
  17. I think it was when Oliver was stabbed, falling off the cliff, and his dying thought was of those he loved, including Felicity, that he realized he was wrong to have rejected a relationship with Felicity. But then Tatsu told him he would have to give up what he most treasured in order to defeat Ra's. So while his giving up a relationship with Felicity was voluntary in 3A, it was not his choice in 3B but necessitated by his need to beat Ra's, work with Malcolm, save Thea, etc.
  18. To clarify, I was not suggesting that Felicity's father is Damien Dahrk, but just someone working at HIVE. What got me started on the theory of Malcolm being Damien Dahrk was the character Methos in that old TV show Highlander - you know, a powerful immortal who lived for centuries and who hid in plain sight by assuming the identity of an ordinary human guy, Adam Pierson (a Watcher researcher).
  19. This personal twitter account by someone who works in Arrow Post Production sometimes offers interesting peeks into the making of an episode (I think someone else once posted a tweet from this person): https://twitter.com/ArrowPostProd For example, this reply was posted on May 6: https://twitter.com/ArrowPostProd/status/596055097475338240
  20. The EPs always hide some big surprise in the season finale, so I'm going with the theory that Malcolm is revealed to be Damien Dahrk. Before you scoff, hear me out... In 3x23, Oliver and Nyssa together manage to defeat Ra's. Oliver doesn't want to be the new Ra's. Nyssa doesn't want to be the new Ra's because she wants to live outside NP and be a real girl like her new BFF Laurel. So Malcolm offers to become the new Ra's, pointing out the danger of allowing hundreds of trained assassins loose on the world unsupervised, and promising to change the LOA's murderous ways. Then in the last minute of the finale, we learn that Malcolm is an alias for Damien Dahrk. Next season, Malcolm/Damien will be a frenemy of Oliver and Thea because he has paternal feelings for them, but an enemy of Diggle and Laurel (because of Andy and Sara). This will increase the strain between Oliver and Diggle, since Oliver inadvertently helped Malcolm double his power as head of both the LOA and HIVE, and because Oliver will still be reluctant to kill Malcolm because of Thea. Felicity will be caught in the middle (again) trying to reconcile Oliver and Diggle, complicated by the fact that she finds out her own father is involved in HIVE. Conflicts galore. How could Malcolm be Damien? After Damien was defeated by Ra's and left the LOA, he had cosmetic surgery to change his appearance and took on a new identity - in fact, several new identities over the years, as he built HIVE and extended his life using the stolen LP water. At some point, he became 'Malcolm Merlyn' and joined the LOA. As Malcolm, he moved to SC, built his company, married and had Tommy (and Thea) - not sure of exact order. Evidence? Malcolm miraculously survived being 'killed' by Oliver in S1. He evaded capture by the LOA for two years, until - I suspect - he allowed himself to be captured. He was able to sneak into the secret duel site and retrieve the sword. He was able to sneak in and out of NP to meet Oliver. He has sources of info within the LOA. If Oliver hadn't attempted to rescue him, he probably had allies within the LOA ready to get him out. JB has hinted that Malcolm will return as a cast member in S4. The EPs have indicated that S4's Big Bad will appear in 3x23. No new casting announcement has been made. Why didn't Malcolm just challenge Ra's directly? Maybe he wasn't sure he could beat Ra's, since he lost to him before. Maybe he thought his real identity as Damien Dahrk would be revealed, and he wanted no connection made between Malcolm and HIVE. So instead, he engineered a long con to manipulate Oliver and Nyssa into defeating Ra's together. He knew Oliver would not want to become Ra's. Even if Nyssa did, he knew that he could challenge and beat Nyssa in combat. In any case, he was assured of becoming the new Ra's, while still keeping his real identity secret. P.S. This theory also allows for the possibility of Tommy returning alive in the future (resurrected with LP water, brainwashed with LOA methods, made a HIVE agent). EDITED TO CLARIFY: Felicity's father would be involved in HIVE, but would not be Malcolm/Damien.

  22. Down And Nerdy's "An Interview with Arrow's Katrina Law: Daughter of the Demon" (go here for audio link): https://soundcloud.com/down-and-nerdy-podcast/an-interview-with-arrows-katrina-law-daughter-of-the-demon https://twitter.com/downandnerdy757/status/597916244629684227 -- KL didn't know she was auditioning for Nyssa. Another name was used for the character. -- KL did a chemistry read with CL. She asked if she should play it flirty and if her character was a lesbian. -- KL also read a scene with Oliver and a random woman. -- Her favorite scenes to shoot were: Nyssa eating french fries with Laurel, and Nyssa's dinner scene with Ra's. -- KL liked the opportunity to play a strong woman (one that wasn't talking about a man or crying over a man) and said that Arrow gives a lot of opportunities for strong females. -- KL talked about fighting with a bow & arrow versus fighting with a sword. Which she prefers depends on how she feels. She has problems even using a lacrosse stick. -- When asked about pranks on the set, KL said that the guys joked more. She also mentioned that, in the scene when Nyssa is in a cage and Laurel approaches her, KC had trouble saying 'Nanda Parbat'; she kept saying 'Nanda Poorbutt', so it took several takes before she got it right, making everyone laugh. -- KL talked about her charity, KITT Crusaders. -- KL gave her twitter, instagram and facebook names, so her fans know how to get in touch with her.
