Spoilers & Speculation: Running Hot & Cold
tv echo replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Legends Of Tomorrow
I'm not sure, but these may be the CW twitter and instagram pages for DC's Legends of Tomorrow - the twitter page has the same poster banner as the official twitter pages for CW Arrow and CW Flash, and links to the instagram page... https://twitter.com/LegOfTomorrow https://instagram.com/legends.of.tomorrow -
I think Team Arrow's base of operations will be at PT (or whatever name the company goes by next season). All the tech stuff and resources are already there (does Felicity also get the helicopter and the jet? cuz that would be useful in transporting villains to their island prison). I think Oliver will want his backup lair to remain a secret (even though Diggle, Felicity and ARGUS know about it). It's his place to go and think about stuff alone. If they used that lair, it would have to be completely outfitted, and its location would soon be as well known as the foundry lair. I can see the advantages of keeping another lair (relatively) secret. Always have a backup location. I was hoping Oliver and Felicity would restart their romance with another 'first date'. But by this point, I guess they're past that. They've already confessed their feelings for each other and slept together. I agree with those who've suggested that the next step is just that they move in together - likely Oliver would move in with Felicity at her apartment. (That would leave Malcolm and Thea as housemates - won't that be fun?) I doubt that they're going to go back to being platonic friends. I would be surprised if they got engaged or married, esp. since I don't think dissolving Oliver's marriage to Nyssa is going to be that simple. To clarify --- When I said that about fearing S1-S3 being like the first ('Gwen Stacy') phase of Oliver's journey, I was looking at the next three years as another trilogy. They could keep Oliver and Felicity together in S4 (throwing in a few conflicts like the baby mama and her father), then break them up for some contrived plot reason in S5, and then conclude S6 with Oliver becoming the fully fledged GA (at which point I honestly think they haven't decided yet who Oliver will end up with, if anyone). If Laurel is going to be in S4, then she needs a storyline. I never read the comics, so correct me if I'm wrong - but didn't the Black Canary have, like, three husbands in the comics? Oliver, someone named Larry and someone else? I wonder if they'll bring in a new love interest for Laurel next season who has one of those names. Alternatively, if the EPs are still looking to expand their TV-verse, they could use S4 to try to build up enthusiasm for a Birds of Prey spinoff by having Laurel's storyline involve building her own team with Nyssa and maybe Helena or even Tatsu. If Laurel just remained part of Team Arrow, she and Oliver would be constantly butting heads (unless they significantly change one of their personalities). P.S. I'm telling you Oliver's son, Connor, is going to show up as a teenager through a mystical time travel portal...

Alex Brown talks about the limited options for women in comic books when it comes to what kind of woman you are (Romantic Love Interest -> Wife or Femme Fatale/Villain, Career Woman, Sexy Girl), the "dung heap of sexist stereotypes and misogynistic plots" in comics with incremental improvement, and then lists a "roundup of 10 groups of women who have made [her] comics life worth living" - included on this list? This article reports on what SA said at Wizard World Philadelphia regarding the DC movie and tv universes, the possibility of crossovers into other DC tv shows, and how to connect Arrow and Constantine... I can't swear that I heard SA accurately. I was busy typing and I heard what I thought SA said, and remember stopping and going 'huh? did he just say that?' But then later on, when he was asked about becoming Ra's, he was all 'if he becomes Ra's' and 'we will see'. So (shrug)... hopefully, we'll get a media report or video at some point. MG's comment about the first three seasons being like a trilogy makes me think that S3 will end happily for Oliver & Felicity. But at the same time, it makes me dread what will happen to them next season. If S1-S3 is like the first phase of Oliver's journey toward becoming the GA, then I fear it'll be like the 'Gwen Stacy' phase - not that I think they'll kill off Felicity (she's too popular), but that there will be some plot contrivance that breaks them apart and makes it impossible for them to be together.

Oh - and he brought his mom (she's a cutie!) briefly on stage when talking about his F**K Cancer campaign because she's a survivor. Before the Q&A started, the panel mod said that videotaping is prohibited, but who knows - maybe someone did some stealth taping for youtube.

Just finished watching the live feed of SA's Q&A panel at Wizard World Philadelphia. Here's some of what I heard (I was trying to type while watching, so apologies for any mistakes)... -- -- Prior to the pilot, he didn't read the comics to prepare because he trusted the people doing the show. Since then, he's read Year One, [something else I didn't catch], and kept up with the New 52. -- When asked if he was a "parkour ninja" before Arrow, he said 'no', he was a hockey player. -- His favorite fight scene this season was his first fight against Ra's because that was 100% him, no stunt double, even though he lost. -- He would like Oliver "to be a little more at peace", to smile more and be more like the classic Oliver Queen of the comics (I think he means personality-wise, as in lighten him up). He mentioned season 4, and even seasons 5 and 6 (being hopeful, not a spoiler). -- Fan asked about joking around on set. In S1, he and DR would say classical movie quotes in the Bane voice. In S2, they'd say "what's in the box" from the movie Seven. This season, he and DR would just go "ehhh" (said in froggy-type voice). -- -- -- When asked about his favorite season, he said that he will always have a soft spot for S1 because it was the first season. But it's like asking him to pick his favorite kid. It's like having three kids. He felt as though S1 set up S2, so he felt as though the payoff in S2 was better. For from a satisfaction standpoint, he really loved S2 but from a ratings standpoint, this is their best season yet. -- He and DR are the best of friends. -- He can't do all of the stunts for insurance reasons. But he always asked to do stunts, esp. when the stunt is high and involves wire work, usually without thinking about whether it's a good idea first. He mentioned swinging from the tree and grabbing Felicity from the land mine. He suggested doing it shirtless to convince them to allow him to do it (since it would have to be him), and the EPs liked the idea. Oliver shirtless like 8 seconds into the second season - "we're right on track." (P.S. While watching the live stream, I ended up hiding the ongoing chat because every few lines, some fan would post some variation of wanting Felicity to die. I got sick of it.) EDITED AFTER WATCHING VIDEO.

I really don't want Oliver and Felicity to get married in the S3 finale - it's too soon. I much prefer the idea (that someone else posted earlier) that they basically go on a "first date" again to restart their romantic relationship. Regarding Felicity being gifted the company - it's no worse than Oliver becoming CEO because he's a Queen. Also, it was Felicity that made the Atom suit work, so you could view it as an even trade. If not for Felicity, Ray would have no Atom suit. Moreover, Ray knows Team Arrow is using PT as their new lair, so it may be his way of also contributing to the team and their cause (and helping SC). The Porsche is probably a company car. Incidentally, with time-travel being a thing on The Flash and LOT, I had this crazy idea (mixed up with reading a review that compared this show to Angel) where a teenage Connor Hawk shows up in SC courtesy of time travel (see, he even as the same name as Angel's son).

If I'm still watching Arrow next season, I think I'm going to be dropping GeekDad (and maybe a few others) from my current list of websites that I check for reviews.
