Interesting and different take on why S3 failed (not a single mention of Olicity, although there is a general reference to "melodrama")... ‘Arrow’ season 3 falls short of the bullseye Chris Correll Wednesday, May 20, 2015 7:29 pm http://www.dailybarometer.com/arts_and_entertainment/arrow-season-falls-short-of-the-bullseye/article_3d7b3b38-ff61-11e4-8a3b-1b558e336fb1.html

Even though the doll was clearly modeled after Sara/Canary, I think AK is trying to pass the doll off as Laurel/BC, while the seller is basically saying it represents both Sara & Laurel... Seller's Product Description: http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=FU5342#desc

THIS. SO MUCH. I once pointed out that Tatsu cried a lot in her last episode this season, but she also had some awesome fight scenes as Katana - so no hate there.

Remember that EBR was one of the nominees for the first-ever SET Award for Portrayal of a Female in Technology? Well, unfortunately, she did not win. LivingtheGeekLife stopped reviewing Arrow episodes after 3x12 - but surprisingly returned to review 3x23... REVIEW – ARROW, “MY NAME IS OLIVER QUEEN” 05.17.15 by Living the Geek Life https://livingthegeeklife.wordpress.com/2015/05/17/review-arrow-my-name-is-oliver-queen/

I fear that the EPs will break up Oliver and Felicity next season, and that the reason will have something to do with her father. After everything that's happened this past season (and the previous two seasons' build-up), it will be difficult for them to come up with a believable, organic reason to break them up, but who knows with these EPs? When Oliver thought he was dying in 3x09, his last thought was of Felicity. By 3x20, he had already planned his suicide mission to take down Ra's with the bioweapon in the plane. So when he had sex with Felicity, it was the last sex he expected to have in his life. Knowing his suicidal plan also explains why he didn't get mad at her for drugging him - he understood her desperation and also didn't want their 'final' parting to be in anger. Knowing his suicidal plan also gives added poignancy to his good-bye scene when he says to her, "Let's not say good-bye this time." In 3x23, both Oliver and Felicity left everything and everyone behind to go off together, both to help him discover who he is now and finally to spend some quality time together as a couple. Against all of that, for them to break up over a misunderstanding or argument or conflicted loyalties would require a major plot contrivance. However, these EPs are the masters of major plot contrivances. Despite the EPs' promise of a lighter season, I wonder if next season will be Felicity's turn to go dark. For example, if her father is a major HIVE villain with super smarts, perhaps he attempts to corrupt her with the lure of high-tech equipment and advanced knowledge, while fooling her with a pretense of being a good guy trapped in a bad situation.

I don't know how they'll do the season 4 cast poster, considering Oliver has no Arrow suit anymore and, if he's getting a new costume, the EPs wouldn't unveil it ahead of time on the poster. Yet they're not going to do a superhero show poster where the hero is wearing civilian clothes. I assume that they'll just put Oliver in his old Arrow suit. I'm just afraid that he'll be front and center with other costumed heroes on the poster (BC, Atom or Speedy), while the non-costumed heroes are relegated to the background (Diggle, Felicity).

I like the fact that several comments posted below Debra Birnbaum's tweet asked about the absence of SA from the Variety cover. Regarding the romance novelists' review - Thinking about it, I'm now not surprised at their viewpoint. Romance novels usually end once the couple gets together. Therefore, many romance writers rarely have to think about a story for what happens to them afterwards - you just assume that the couple lives happily ever after (like a fairy tale). If a romance writer brings back a couple in a later book in a shared universe, they're usually just a happily married supporting couple. Of course, there are exceptions for really epic romances - like Outlander - that span several books.

EBR, DR, CH and WH (as well as Rick Cosnett) are scheduled for the Super Heroes Con in Paris, France, on June 6-7. It'll be interesting to see Rick and Emily at the same con, given the tweets about Eddie and Felicity. In any event, I really hope that there's video of this con.
