  1. For an SNL Ladies Night- *Gilda Radner *Jane Curtain *Larraine Newman-- I want the three original funny ladies; I will always love them *Jan Hooks--because- if she was up for it- I'd want her to sing a song or two *Ellen Cleghorne-- I've always liked her. *Leslie Jones
  2. Where Blaine seems relatively sanguine or zen, Don E seems more jumpy and prone to not only be the boss but to use his own product. Blaine usually picks legmen who aren't planners in the way he is. Blaine loves a long-range plan. He builds in contingencies and just does his thing. Makes lemonade out of zombie brew. Don E doesn't especially strike me as that big a planner. Not that he doesn't have plans, but I am betting he isn't thinking about much other than taking over from Amnesia!Blaine and facing down Boss. Don E doesn't know everything Blaine does/did. It will be interesting.
  3. We don't know that currently. The only change we were privy to was a kinder Hartley. Who knows what has changed? But if Barry never has a negative consequence to the unneeded time-travel, then these Time Wraiths become boogeymen for Barry, with Wells a scout leader telling tales around the campfire. If what you are theorizing is true, Barry surviving that one Wraith will be compartmentalized to a degree that he "forgets"/doesn't think about it. Doing that, he becomes more confident and continues to not listen to people he supposedly trusts. That is not the hero I signed on to watch. There is young and going through a learning curve, then there's what the writers have Barry doing. It's stupidly reckless because there could be plenty of other reasons for him to not absolutely time-travel and still have the dementors after him, yet not have him seem like a lazy asshole for doing so. Don't show Barry reading a ton of books, have someone mention reading journals of dead guys then have Barry time-travel to see the guy who killed his mom and actively tried to kill him! Have Barry go see some ancient scientist. Have him run forward to meet Future!Eobard. ( I also don't get why he always travels back and never forward. Hmm. A character note maybe?) Hell, have him go meet Nikola Tesla or Enzo Ferrari, since their names were dropped. There are better ways to get him to go back that don't make him look dumb ( FlashMob says 'No, don't!'), selfish ( ' I need to get that 30% NOW', which sure but this way?), or mean (let-me-fight-and-drug-myself-for-no-reason(-to him) ). *"Sneak" back to see what plans Jessie made, so he can try to get her to come back for Harry *After talking (!) to Caitlin, Barry goes back to backtrack this Hunter Zoloman guy Jay pointed out to her, just to be extra sure about who Zoom is. If they think their Jay was a lying liar, then double check the facts on this guy. Or even have Iris do some digging as another layer of protection. *Going over the Velocity that was injected into Jessie, Caitlin and Harry discover a potentially damaging cellular something something "science" enchilada and that's why Barry wants to go back and "track" Jessie. *Cisco realizes Barry lost a small piece of tech somewhere and when he lost it is narrowed down to sometime in the past, maybe during the S1 finale. Barry has to retrieve it. *Clarissa Stein shows up saying that someone is sending blackmail photos of Martin entering a spaceship. Barry goes back to deal with the blackmailer. ( It's the pizza delivery guy from last season; he really wanted that tip, Barry!) *Joe goes through some old mail and a letter from Vanessa is there. It was half-finished. It is vague, but seems to imply some danger. Barry goes back to track Vanessa and why the letter was sent. ( I mean, really? From drugged-out mom runaway to cleaned-up mom who can dress very nicely and travel to the coast a handful of times before she died? There is a story we're missing.) *Gideon starts acting funny/up/fritzing out. Cisco isn't sure how they can make new parts. Barry runs back to watch Eobard-Wells make parts in his house or in the Gideon room. Sneaking/spying can easily slide into unnecessary, but when has Barry found a situation that he didn't eventually butt in on? Barry considers Harry family now, so I could see Barry wanting to quietly help. LD? This isn't aimed at you, honest. It's more the direction that the writing seems to have taken. IA that Barry doesn't face the consequences that are explained as almost a certainty. He hasn't "lost" a friend or family member from his travels, so he's still very 'it's nbbd. I'll be real quick.' Then he isn't and nothing bad happens.
  4. Kendra: I like that she wants to make independent decisions where and when she can. Having someone tell you that you have to love them, despite the eventual memories that confirm those feelings, is not cool and asshatty. Carter, if we meet him again, will hopefully calm down on that front. I also loved that Kendra didn't flinch when it came to fighting Sara. I like Kendra refinding herself on (mostly) her time table. I didn't like that she gave into treating Ray as less than adult, despite his finally making peace with the rescue not showing up in a ( sorry) timely manner. I get that she was trying to minimize his hurt/ broken spirit/whatever, but Ray is not some fragile genius who'll crumble at the first setback. Hopefully, everyone will show a bit more faith in Ray going forward. Ray: The totally fan-bait William Gates' dad thing was funny. I loved that Ray did what he always does- builds something to help the situation when he can. That he kept working to perfect a beacon ( of hope, no less!) was very Ray. Although, not keeping the miniaturized suit on his person at all times seems dumb, as does (to a degree) cannibalizing the suit for parts. I liked that Ray's video window was of a beach. Something sunny and fun, just like the man. (I do agree that Ray was pretty petty, but he did stop and verbalized everytime he was asked what was bothering him. So, big step for our tech genius.) Leonard: Man, talk about your past haunting you! Still, he was badass in trying to stop Mick and help the team. I am unsure how to feel about the regenerating. It makes sense, but would it be absolutely horrible if Snart had to have some prosthetic hand? It hasn't really slowed down Colson on Agents of SHIELD. Ray could make a hand with freeze ray fingers! *g* Still, the scene outside Mick's cell was great for everyone, but Jackson and Leonard's back and forth was a nice callback. There will be plenty of fallout from Snart's decision; I hope it will be meaty. Sara: I was having a harder time than I would have thought understanding Sara tonight. Being a third wheel can suck hard. Being an out-of-time reborn lesbian assassin hero has got to make it hard to find folks with similar likes. I get the lack of faith. I get not wanting to have a blossoming romance hit you in the face everyday until who-knows-when. I figured that it might have been Ra's mind whammy powers to a degree after we saw Sara back in Nanda Parbat. I can even sort of get behind a type of jet-lag that affects time travelers. I guess I wanted Sara to be a bit more trusting of the team that left them. Plan for the worst (the team is all dead and we are stuck in this time), hope for the best. Then again, I haven't been dropped somewhere almost sixty years in the past. I really like Sara and Kendra's friendship, so I hope we get to see them more. Plus? Their fight was good. Jackson, Martin, Rip and Mick: Mick had a nice return; large and in charge and making Leonard pay for others' hurtful words. I am looking forward to seeing how the Reformation of Mick Rory pans out. I would like to see a bit less of Jax telling Ray and Kendra to stop with the PDA/arguments/etc. He seems bitter or petty, even with a reasonable request. Martin could have had the lines with some supportive business from Jax and the point would have still been made. I loved that Martin got such a delighted, warm greeting from Kendra. It implies that Martin has interacted with this team and it was welcome and enjoyed. I think that Martin is becoming the heart of the team. I could be mistaken, but I think I would be the most upset if badness befell Martin than almost anyone else. ( Canary is a very close second.) Rip will hopefully even out a little more. He is imperious, as befits a veteran of time travel, but also his plans don't tend to pan out anywhere close to his expectations. There is still a trust disconnect between him and the rest; he expects them to follow without a doubt, yet he refuses to listen to them when they bring up reasonable doubts or alternative plans. I want to like Rip a bit more than I do currently, and I feel it is coming, but I'm not sure how far to trust these writers. Yet. I genuinely enjoyed the episode; it had stuff that was wonderful and should have lasting repercussions, as much as a time-travel show can have repercussions. I'm ready for next week!
  5. But are they really? * Karen didn't know that she triggered the motion detector, or else why would she have taken the leisurely stroll through Lisa's bedroom/the kids' playroom? Karen is surprised by the black panel van that arrives and MiB get out. Either that is tied to The Blacksmith or what The Blacksmith hinted at before Frank shot him. *The Punisher's lairs were always disposable to Frank. They were where he could get a bit of rest and work on what he needed. He was even okay that his van was blown-up to take out more of the Kitchen Irish. Not so much a dropped thread as an example of how isolated Frank was. That he looked gut-punched by the dog's dognapping, imo, more than his place being found out told me more about Castle than yet another fight. You want a dropped plot point from this, though? What's up with the dog, Marvel!? Inquiring minds want to know! * Mr. Fisk had an important forwarding of his plot, but I would not say it was prominent. Especially as it was supposed to be subtle and behind-the-scenes. Foggy, the audience mouthpiece, thought Matt was being a bit paranoid bring up the possibility that Fisk worked to ensure that Frank was within his area of influence, but had also made sure that Frank was able to escape prison. I was thrilled at getting time with Wilson; VOD is a fun actor. He seems to have fun playing all the notes Wilson Fisk affords. But he wasn't prominent. Claire was more prominent. I also don't believe that Wilson Fisk is going to be any kind of dropped plot point in this series. *Frank's origin needed updating from the Vietnam era. A small number of soldiers turn to outside methods to boost their paychecks. Then again, some folks are just greedy. I kicked myself for not putting the general's testimony on Frank's service in the Middle East with the drug problem in NYC. Why would a greedy man with devoted followers/muscle turn down the chance to make Big Bucks from illegal drugs? A man eventually shown to feel entitled to the cash. There was no regret in selling the drugs. As to destroying the competition, that's what ruthless, money-grubbing villains do. I also believe there needed to be a straight-forward villainy villain, to off-set the existential stuff with Punisher and Elektra. Frank and Elektra yakked about their positions, along with Matt. The general just sold drugs, killed competitors, got Madame Gao's attention, and egged Frank on to kill, pussycat, kill, kill. Short of twirling a mustache, The Blacksmith was an easy villain to root against. As with the house/van/MiBs, that was, I am betting, a potential story for either a Punisher outing or something for a later Daredevil story, bringing Frank back into Matt's orbit through Karen. But that's pure spec on my part. Just because something isn't addressed immediately or totally in this universe, doesn't automatically mean it is forgotten. If you think something has more story left to it, odds are the writers think it does, too. I enjoyed the majority of the season. What I hoped it would have- more easily seen fights/ more Foggy- I can be patient and wait for. I was glad that the characters were true to themselves, as painful as that was. I kept waiting for the Tick to pop up and comment on the amount of ninjas on display, though. I was really glad that Claire and Marci were back, as well as Officer-now Detective-Brett. ( I know he has a last name, but I'm awful with last names.) I continue to enjoy Ellison; he's a funny dude. ( I hope he rejected Karen's trite, bland "Everyone's a hero" as it wasn't anything Ellison charged her with writing. Something unique, that only Karen could write. Maybe she should've had some of her scotch first.)
  6. I thought Mimi was going back for chemo, for her cancer.
  7. Ha! SO the grimdark Elseworlds movies are done, right? We're going to have hopeful movies with heroes that, while they fight Evil, they aren't totally shunned by the populace? Heroes that are allowed to smile, as opposed to ruefully grin or sneer? I will probably go see The Suicide Squad, as they have their place, but it's a movie that's meant to be villain-centric. Or at least anti-hero-centric. I'm not looking for some idiotically saccharine, positive hero movie, just one I can take nieces and nephews to see without disclaimers. There is a middle spot that was last seen sometime around Superman 1 and 2, and those dealt briefly with a fickle public. Grimdark is fine, but there seems to be an overabundance of it. I at least appreciate that Mr. Terrio researched so hard. That's going pretty deep. I'm sure it informed many of the better choices he made.
  8. I was actually wondering if Brie would get sprung for HIVE to recruit. They would be more than willing to help her out in exchange for her bee tech. I also want her to end up the head of HIVE.
  9. Grimm : A witch has found a spell to take lies from liar's mouths. The n00b unfortunately ( or is it?) takes everyone's words. Modern Family: Manny dreams that the families' last group outing was a silent movie. Lucifer: One morning, everyone just can't hear. Chloe and Lucifer assume it's because they were in the vicinity of an explosion, but it's not just folks at the crime scene- it's the whole of L.A.
  10. It was one of those great episodes where pieces start coming together and worlds collide and ... I love this show so much! I even felt a bit concerned for GildaRita; no one should have that scary man haul you away anonymously. I fear she's going to be testing Super Maxand/ or the next level of that poison. Major feeling compassion for a pet. I am pretty sure Major wasn't expecting that to be how he was found out. I wouldn't have thought Ravi was that ( excuse me) dogged about Minor. I am glad, story-wise, though. Only, what is Ravi gonna do with a Zombie Major? Don E? This will not end well. I hope Chief comes out okay. I never thought I'd feel much outside of dislike for Blaine, but Amnesiac Human Blaine? Watching him wipe down that slab was sad. OMG, Peyton! "Pest Friend", indeed! Maybe now that Peyton has seen how Liv has to work, she will reel in the 'vision now, please'? Though, her wheedling Liv to go ahead and take stripper brain was funny. So many reveals and actual sharing of information! So many other not-quite-told truths! *sigh* I may have to watch this one a couple more times just to get everything for sure. added a line to clarify my thought.
  11. Silly me; I thought that when Barry got the idea from Wally, that the idea was to read original writings from non-Thawne Wells and maybe even Thawne Wells. Silly me! We only open on Barry speed reading, so why would he do more of that in our allotted time? Wastesful Actionmage am I, apparently. Because expecting your scientist to use his noggin to solve a problem is for suckers, especially when you can literally make an end run? Granted, the problem is mostly theoretical until it comes time to test it, but thinking is for suckers, right? The only time I feel badly for Thawne-Wells is when Barry jabbers on about time travel. TC has this anguished, 'fer the love of Mike!' expression that Barry refuses to heed. It was nice to hear Eddie again. It was great to see him, too, but with the softer talk, his voice was nice on my ears. Hartley being an ally to the group? I like that. Even if it's just a sometime thing, where he's gray, I could deal with that. If the Time Wraiths don't like people mucking about time, then why isn't Zoom target #1? He's killing other world's heroes and villains, which no doubt messes with those other worlds' timelines. I am glad that Wally is getting praise and recognition for his mechanical prowess. I am glad that Iris is not thinking that Scott is someone to find happiness with, unless I missed something. I had to duck out of the room for a sec and missed the picture. I just wish Barry quits with the time travel for a good long bit. Not because I don't want him to help ( not that it ever really seems to help), but because it tends to cause more headaches for the viewers who try to keep things straight. Barry seems more interested in cutting corners to save time ( as such) instead of getting things right the first time. In the process he threatens, essentially, reality. Reality around Central City has been changed 5 times already. That there hasn't been something worse than these Time Wraiths means Barry's luck on that front may be shorter than he thinks. I also can't help but wonder what Earlier Barry thinks when his Later self knocks him out pretty forcefully and in the middle of capturing a villain? All the above said, though? I agree with Cthulhudrew; it was more fun this week than last week.
  12. Actually, he has. (It's been talked about in a line here or there, but CCPD has cells for metas. Tho', to your point, it took 'em over a season to do so, even after building the Pipeline. But that's for The Flash boards.) What I hated was the 'you taught me to respect criminals' civil rights, James' bull. Kara doesn't kill like some grimdark person. She understands that the DEO is holding folks, against whom normal justice would be hard to enact, like Astra and Leslie. Only now, Leslie can receive a proper trial for attempted murder, twice now, and accessory to attempted murder ( for going along with Siobhan.) The career criminals from Fort Rozz are so out of the realm for Earth justice systems, that DEO actually is the best place. Unfortunately, the potential downside is "stockpiling" of captured aliens ( not in the US), to hedge against the US having and using those captives against other, more paranoid countries. But yeah, Kara already knew right from wrong; a momentary/situational lapse doesn't automatically mean Kara's all 'I'll mow 'em all down from now on!' I want Kara to be sunny and aware, not Lawful Stupid. On the shallow end? Those cupcakes looked yummy and I really liked Kara's yellow dress. (Much better than the quickly left pink/gray outfit.)
  13. Why didn't Siobhan manifest The Banshee after her father's betrayal of the promise to her? It was only one or two episodes back and seems a bigger, more triggering act than a boss blackballing you currently. (How her dad wasn't killed by her mom is a question, though.) To anyone who's watched the episode with producer's commentary: did anyone ever address how Leslie knew to go to the lumber warehouse?
  14. It was a delicious DC night for me: Lucifer was fun as ever, but Supergirl and The Flash were adorkable, and best of all? Fun! I need Kara to meet the group in Star City. If Oliver is barely listening to anyone else, maybe Kara could give him a check on loss and juggling public and private personas he'd appreciate? I feel gypped on the kiss between Kara and James, but hopefully there'll be another chance. I enjoyed Lucy, backed by the guys with guns, getting on the 'uh, we're a secret facility?' If only we'd seen how Kara talked Lucy into admitting Siobhan for testing, I might be a bit more happy. Also? Who leaves a jail cell(?) where just anyone stalking out in a huff can see and overhear what's going on with a meta or alien captive? I think the Contrivance Fairy has also eluded the crack security staff at the DEO. Kat? I love you as is, don't change. Much. I flinched when she fingersnapped at Kara. I so wasn't expecting that. The geeking by the science geeks was fun, especially with a brotherly, sigh and eyeroll from James. Winn needed to pull back the needling, but James is relatively more secure in himself. I know that Silver Banshee looks like that in the comics, but I don't think it works well. It was a wonderfully faithful adaptation, but on a living person, it looked more silly than intimidating, imo. Did the scene of Siobhan directing Live Wire to the abandoned Warehouse du jour get cut? That part made no sense to me. I enjoyed the crowd of Average Citizens, as the firemen were the ones that were around when Kara was affected by the Red K. I'm pretty sure the gent who helped Kara to her feet was one of the guys from the roof. (If so, nice continuity catch, Show!) I liked that the fire department was quick enough to remember what shorts out electricity. The upside was that water wasn't going to hurt any civilians. At first I thought that Barry had found a water main or opened a hydrant. It was a pretty fun hour!
  15. Amenadiel will be making Trixie make Lucifer go back to Hell, if he can get her to like him. Which in his current moods, may not be easy for him. Maze/Trixie '16! Maze would of course be the ideal Veep and President Trixie will be the one to save us all, even Lucifer. Even Amenadude. Doctor Linda/ Mazikeen will be fun, if the show keeps showing it to us. It may be that Maze has been so edgy and hedonistic and whatever for so long, that maybe something simple is edgy again to her? She's very disdainful of "normal"; I'd like Dr. Linda to ask Mazikeen what "normal" equals to her. We've seen Maze's true shape before; maybe having Trixie and possibly Dr. Linda as friends is something she figures is not in the cards for her? While I'm not Det. Dan's fan, he shouldn't die, or at least not by that guy. I was surprised that Malcolm didn't come back to Dan's "Go to hell" with a "Already been there", or something like that. Also, I was surprised that Amenadiel didn't go all Mazikeen and stop the fighting and gun-drawing. Especially since Dan figured out most of the problem. I don't remember the previews, if any, so if there wasn't? I'm concerned for Det. Douche. How thin-skinned is Chloe's mom if she leaves early the next morning after a couple of verbal arguments? To be clear, I'm not advocating hanging around an emotionally toxic scene, but after the calm apology, and Chloe looking and sounding like she genuinely wanted her mom to stay a little longer, why not? The woman may have blown off an audition to look for her granddaughter, so she can skip another 48 hours of job hustling. Besides, I was hoping to see more of Dan and Lucifer being nice to Penelope. Maze's Shirley Temple amused me greatly. I may have to ask for her version the next time I'm out.
  16. Since Elementary and HGN are now timeslot competitors, I tend to choose Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, even though I've watched HGN since S1. I'm like LAFR, though, and listen to the podcast if it's posted first. Then I catch the video that's posted. I appreciate that as it is primarily just the games.
  17. I loved the trailer after the last episode of Daredevil S2. "You know you don't have to-" ::Guys with guns shoot at Luke, who just sighs and shifts his body like a toddler's dad:: No Misty Knight or Claire or Jessica , but we have until September. :D
  18. I believe we are supposed to believe that the Hand ninjas are undead in some way or reanimated. The morgue scene with Shirley the Administrator, Claire and the Cover-up Guy pointed to that. Claire, and we, could see the autopsy Y-cut that indicated that an autopsy was performed. Matt couldn't hear their heartbeats because the hearts either didn't beat or they had no heart in their chests. Still, yeah on the sonar/echolocation; if Matt could figure out where there was or wasn't empty space in a train car, guestimating how many bodies around you should be relatively easier.
  19. And Clyde sightings and Ms. Hudson sightings and Alfredo & Bell hinting at dating Joan & making Sherlock nuts and Captain Gregson and single stick practice and bees! and ... ;D
  20. Because no one seems to be talking about it, was that Father Lantam who was summarily executed by Tyler? I would have liked to have known for sure. Also, no love for Turk helping save the others and putting his own self in harm's way? Turk may never reform, but if it ever gets back to Turk that it was folks DD saved who were snatched up? Turk will try to shoot Horn-Head the next time he sees him. I was okay through the episode, but when Josie looked like she was gettin' a bit misty, I teared up too. My musketeers have broken up. (At least until next season?) I liked Frank's coda, helping Red with the ninjas, but yeah, I was so angry that the lights weren't actually helpful. I figure the helmet was off so Mr. Cox could have his scene with Ms. Yung without anything blocking his face; I get that. But there was supposed to be more than one weak light and Brett wanted the whole roof lit up, not just the water tower. Stick? Never change, man. You're a sonuvabitch, but you're our sonuvabitch. If Elektra left Matt some cash and Foggy's saved a good nest egg, maybe the guys can play with the idea of getting the firm back together? Karen can be on loan from the Bulletin. I want Foggy out of Jeri's reach, if not her paychecks. (Yeah, not exactly fair or doable, but... have you met Ms. Hogarth? I am surprised she doesn't represent Wilson Fisk.)
  21. Yep, we can't be alone in that thought, though. Claire needs a Go Fund Me page so we can help her achieve this goal of helping- and fiercely protecting- her charges. It was nice to see Ben's Shirley fighting to help Claire. Too bad she brought up the keeping things quiet part. The hospital could have kept the best damn nurse they had. I don't think I want Foggy to work where Marcie works. I think she is employed by a firm from Jessica Jones, and if she is and it's the one I think it is, then I want Foggy to run far away. Karen and Ellison are pretty good too. Karen is lucky to get such good bosses. What I loved about Madame Gao was that she was just serenely painting a lovely scene on a kite. Matt was brusk, not polite, but I guess Madame Gao gave him some slack due to being Western. *sais*
  22. Nice to see I wasn't alone in that thought. Still, for Fisk, he probably came out fine. He put hitch in Matt's step ( great physical reaction, Mr. Cox! ) and just got more cred as The Guy Who'll Take Down Anyone, Even Blind Folk. Are we supposed to be getting lighter vibes of Karen/Matt with Karen/Frank? Both men have saved her from worse men. Both had police and PR problems. I will say, that if I could pick a friend, Karen would be the one to find. She's a bloodhound and a mama bear.
  23. I binged 9-12 tonight. I'm picking up pieces of my mind like the Hand after a fight with Matt. Just...[insert noises]. I kicked myself for not figuring out Frank's side of the thing faster, but the digression in prison did it's job. Many props for Lil' Elektra! She was awesome and scary and ended up with a nicer bye than Matt, at least. My heart and head hurt from this episode though. My Team Supreme is still a million miles from each other and, damn it, I understand them and yet want to mush 'em all together and make them be good with each other. *sigh*
  24. [italics mine] Maybe they will bring one or two of their CW Seed shows up for a midseason or summer run. ( As much as I'd enjoy a Vixen show, I think that one of the others like Play It Again, Dick or Backpackers ( again) might be more practical.) Then again, I want to take the company at their word; that they aren't lying to buy time and to not completely scare away viewers. Since Liguori is taking WGN America from "just" a superstation to a broadcast net or wanting to do so), would any of these shows end up there? ( If The CW doesn't make it?) I would think that Liguori wouldn't be content to just have reruns and Cubs games if he was a real live network. Four original shows doesn't cut it currently. (Or could it?) Bringing proven shows with followings would be good, in that it brings eyeballs. I am hoping that The CW is just having a period of adjustment and that we can keep enjoying the shows we enjoy.
  25. ITA. This? I agree with as well. No matter the gilding, Brian lives in an FBI-monitored cage. He is a prisoner. I'm just not sure that it's closer to internment or regular incarceration.
