  1. The incomparable Donna Noble brought a breath of humor and true companionship after crushes (requited and not) and sadness and The Master. The waved at "fat", was at Pompeii (and helped finish starting it's destruction), became a part of that library, and made an unforgettable left turn. (I haven't watched that episode all the way through again; it's just that intense for me. That and "Midnight".) Oi! Anyone have some love for Ms. Noble?
  2. Martha was one of my favorite companions. She was after the Rose/Ten Shennanigan Hour, but before the great Donna. Not that Martha wasn't badass on her own! She was willing to blow up Earth to save us from Daleks! She dealt with the Weeping Angels first and "human" Doctor while trying to handle The Family of Blood and racism in the 1910s England! I could go on, but I can't be alone in my Martha love, right?
  3. I understand; he was my first Doctor. I have watched a few older episodes, but I love Eccleston's version. Not that I didn't like Tennant or Smith, because I did, but he brought such a different vibe than the other two. "Dalek" nailed the coffin shut, though. CE made me believe that there was nothing scarier in the universe than that hunk of metal. I missed him during the Big Episode, but I still have season/series 1.
  4. The only thing anyone in the ep description got right was Helena coming to town. Roy, going by Oliver, breaks up with Thea (steady, berserker-stopper and boss!) and she's consequently picked-up by Slade! Oliver, instead of owning all the shit he's let Thea deal with, lets her marinate in the feeling of betrayal/lies of omission everyone but (supposedly) Oliver has handed her. Laurel, while her intentions were heroic in wanting to save the hostages, she ended up not helping things in the end. Then blackmailing the DA for her job back? These folks didn't mind if you were killed by Helena, a psycho in their eyes. (To be fair, Helena's give a damn broke, but yeah, she's a murderer.) Not dissimilar to the "Does Quentin know?", is my "How could Laurel not know?!" Surely she's seen her sister a time or two since Sara revealed herself to the family. Plus, all the growing up years? *sigh* Felicity and Digg's "kick her ass" agreement was great. Not only was it funny, but it served better than the episode "Blind Spots" where Oliver has his. Then again, just about everything Felicity and Digg is gold, imo. I just hope, for Thea's sake, there are some actual truth bombs laid on her; she is so going to tear Oliver and Roy new ones if she gets a chance.
  5. Maybe what is ham-stringing the show is that while Jed and Maurissa were ramping up the spy world, there was some disconnect in Marvel trying to integrate this property into the universe. Granted, the MCU is bullet-train slick, but Agents of SHIELD seems like it's Kevin in the Home Alone movies-Where's Phil and his little friends?! If we get a season 2, maybe Movie Marvel (which seems to be first in the pecking order, for reason) could actually have someone liase (sp?) with the writers of SHIELD so that there can be more organic meshing, closer to "Yes Men" than "The Well"? Or am I just being a hope-fool?
  6. I missed the original airing, but I was so glad I caught part 2! Pete trying to get Cricket off the roof with the pool skimmer? Gold. Kate reassuring Cricket she loved her and growing up with Cricket? Sweet. The Frances/Francis inability to get together on... anything, really? Fun. As for Bert and Warren not being adorable? Too late! I am just hoping we get another season. This blended family is just gentle and just naughty enough to be a great sitcom.
