I thought he did know better. He told Donette that all that family stuff was only good until they didn't need you anymore (paraphrase).

Misstify you are right. Brianna did not know what was coming for D'Angelo. That scene where she breaks down in her bedroom and that snake Stringer is there "comforting" her ... that was powerful. I think I have an UO. I had major dislike for Stringer and that was before he put the hit on D'Angelo. It is definitely fun rewatching and catching things you missed previously.

I can't say if this was my impression initally or after a few rewatches but I saw Frank being motivated by self interest. I thought him being "the man" who got things done was his buzz if you will. He loved being the man everyone could come to if they had a problem and he would solve it. He told Nick to come to him instead of boosting cameras. He gave New Charles' wife that envelope full of money. He gave that one union worker who was going to change unions money to go get a drink and think about it and if he wanted to change in the morning, Frank would be behind him. The guy takes the money, gets the drink and is handed a wad of cash ... from Frank Sobotka!

Sorry I wasn't trying to say that you hated Carter :) ... just that Carter being at the bottom of the totem poll(for whatever reason) isn't something I think is an UO. I mean Carter got ripped for turning Reese into Snow. I never saw those rips give her credit for letting Reese go once she saw what Snow was about. Compare that to Fusco, who tried to murder Reese twice. If Fusco was ever ripped for that, I never saw it. Carter and Reese shared the top spot with me. Fusco next and Finch last.

I'm watching season 2 now and thought, the more I watch it the better it gets.

That bus scene was what lead Reese to being taken to the precinct and crossing paths with Carter. Also, Reese never said Carter saved him. He said she changed his mind. In context, it seems Reese was saying Carter changed his mind about killing himself. Sure that can be seen as Carter saving him but what I never got was that Reese was giving Carter credit for what he previously gave Finch credit for. For me it was quite clear that Reese gave Finch credit for giving him something meaningful to do (purpose) which saved him from continuing his slide downward. He gave Carter, whom he met first, credit for changing his mind about committing suicide.

So did I. I strongly suspected Carter was a goner when they gave Shaw her own episode. Then they "gave Carter her own story" which translated into her being separated from the focus of the show. Then TPH didn't attend that panel in SD I think. Then they claimed TPH missed another panel because she was filming ... yet there was a tweet/instrgram with her having just gotten her nails done just prior to the panel starting.

OG or Why Did You Start Watching?
GodsBeloved replied to LCanterbury's topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
Good choice! I'm rewatching season 1 now. I plan on catching Breaking Bad eventually. A friend told me about this show and I watched seasons 1-3 on Netflix. I procured the first 1/2 of season 4 then watched the last 1/2 live. Over the holidays last year, I got my sister hooked on the show with Netflix binge watching. -
LOL I love Face/Off and I love JT as Castor Troy too. I also prefer Nicolas Cage as Sean Archer. As much as I love JT as a bad guy(watched The Punisher yesterday), I love NC as a good guy. Everytime I watch Face/Off, I squeal for the moment when NC says Well, if you are Sean Archer, then I must be Castor Troy. A few off the top of my head: Denzel Washington in Malcolm X and Training Day Russell Crow in Gladiator (especially his My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius speech) Can't mention Gladiator without mentioning Joaquin Phoenix.

I didn't start watching this show until New New York. Mercedes and Sam are the reasons I tuned in and the reasons I went back and checked out previous seasons. I also came to like Artie. I won't be a bit surprised to see Sam with someone and Mercedes looking on but I'll hope with you that they get a happy ending together.

I think you answered your own question. Otis believed they both could make it out. It doesn't make sense for him to shoot himself if he believes they can both get out alive. I agree that Shane was a poor planner here. He knew sound attracted the walkers and he should have done something silimlar to what Rick did when he got the group out of the department store in Atlanta. Shane could have also done something similiar to what Rick did when Shane was hold up in that bus. Shane, it seems thought Rick was leaving him to the walkers because there seemed to be no way out for Shane. Instead Rick came back and saved Shane from what look to be a hopeless situation. We will never know if a limping Otis and a limping Shane would have made it out because Shane made the choice to cut Otis off at the knees.
-
Given that Otis refused to leave Shane behind, I don't have a problem believing Otis would have given his life to save Carl. Not for one minute do I see Otis as being self serving especially when comparing him to Shane.

I loved both Jokers. He's my favorite.

Tyreese: Baby Carrier, Reluctant Warrior
GodsBeloved replied to Omar G.'s topic in The Walking Dead Franchise Shows
I don't care one way or the other about Tyreese and Carol as a couple but ... I have seen a Machonne/Rick coupling advocated here so if Machonne can get the hots for Rick, I don't see why Tyreese can't do the same with Carol. When Rick made the choice to hand Machonne over to the crazy Governor, he thought he was doing what was in the best interest of the entire group. Likewise, when Carol murdered Karen and David she thought she was doing what was for the good of the entire group. oh I am the total opposite. That scene was SO cringe worthy. Whenever I watch the episode, I FF Cutty and his singing LOL -
Audrey was not Silent Clock worthy. The season was OK but forgettable like seasons 5-8 ended up being.

Friday Night Lights - General Discussion
GodsBeloved replied to Danny Franks's topic in Friday Night Lights
I had a major gripe with this too. I found it hard to buy Julie having sex with a married man no matter what bullcrap story he gave her. I felt the TA storyline was written for Coach and Tami's reactions instead of being an organic Julie story. Julie's comment to her parents and them saying they did trust her mere weeks after the TA mess only reinforced my beliefs. -
Yes, Milo was perfect as Rocky and Adrian's son. I wish Sly had decided to do a flashback and had Adrian and grown up Rocky Jr share a scene. I was 10 when Rocky came out and I loved Rocky II so much my mom bought me the soundtrack. Bill Conti is The Man! That theme song, Redemption, oh man I loved that music.

I LOVED the Rocky movies. Granted they got weaker as they progressed but I was still all in. The first and second movies are my favorites. I was so in love with Rocky and Adrian and their love story. His proposal was ... just so ... Rocky ... so perfect. Even to this day, I smile brightly when he asks what she'll be doing for the next 40 or 50 years. There is a small moment in the proposal scene that is one of my favorites of the entire series. After they kiss, Rocky talks about how he'll be a good guy. Adrian leans in for another kiss but instead of accommodating her, Rocky slaps her on the shoulder. I also loved the scene where they are looking at the house and Rocky says he feels funny talking like this with the lights on and proceeds to tell Adrian that all this means nothing without her because without her, he wouldn't be there ... ugh!!! Rocky's reaction to Adrian being pregnant ... I melt ... and his "oh what if its a broad" LOL! I love it. ugh!!! This was on this weekend and I said outl oud I think Rocky and Adrian were my very first ship! I saw/read an interview with Talia Shire I think and she said she had a cold when they filmed that kiss so part of Adrian's timidity was in fact Talia not wanting to give Sly her cold LOL They moved back to the house Adrian and Paulie lived in in Rocky I. I thought it was crazy too that Rocky lost everything and had to go back to the old neighborhood. His name alone should have brought in cash somehow. I also found it a bit suspicious that Adrian wasn't on top of or at least aware of what was going on with the money. She showed she had sense in Rocky II when they were looking at their first house.

Friday Night Lights - General Discussion

Didn't they break up because Lyla had sex with Tim? They got back together but Jason then had that whatever with the tatoo artist and Lyla threw the ring back at him. I don't remember if they reconciled after that. -
A Different World - General Discussion
GodsBeloved replied to David T. Cole's topic in A Different World
I still remember where I was when this happened! "I DO!!" "She said I do!" "Yeah but to who?!" Best.Episode.Ever -
I would watch season 1 episodes over and over and over. Season 2 fell off a bit though it did have the great Rikers' arc. I just didn't have the same connection with the majority of the season 2 numbers that I did with season 1. Season 3 was more of the same with the numbers but Carter's murder arc was great, except the murder part LOL. I haven't been inclined to watch after The Devil's Share and at this point I don't care to even try to return to this show.
