The cameo was fine and all, but that was kind of a waste of John Wesley Shipp. Reade is an addict now -- why, just WHY, show?? Both I did like that we had different pairing this episode. (There's another show I watch with a large-ish team, and i wish they'd do more of this.) Yeah, Nas was pretty unnecessary to this one. And who didn't see the attack coming after she insisted on going alone? ::rolls eyes::

Well, there goes that. They're not going to disappear Wally twice, so either Barry gets lost, or they go another direction. ---------------------- I do wonder when the show will reveal Savitar's identity. In Season 1 we knew who Reverse Flash was by 1.09; in Season 2 Zoom was revealed in 2.14. It looks like they might wait right up until the closing episodes (3.20? 3.21?)* for Savitar. Unlike the other villains, they at least they've reveled some of his plans and motivations earlier; and given more clues to his identity throughout the season. It's not playing out as well as RF, but waaaayyy better than Zoom. *ETA: Probably 3.20, the 21st episode has previously been a filler-ish, 'calm before the storm' type story.

I'm not as upset as some for Barry standing there (he could have been sucked in too), but it definitely a writing/directing/editing FAIL. They could have framed it differently (as suggested by a few people here) and gotten the same result.

I was all set to defend Barrowman*, but then I saw that the showrunner is viewing him this way, too. I'm still going to check out a few episodes, though. *I've seen this with other actors; I think it's just the way they get into the role. They try to look at it from the villain's point of view - who usually doesn't see him/herself as a villain.

Schedule: 3/14 - 3.16, "Into the Speed Force" 3/21 - 3.17, "Duet" (musical episode) 3/28 - 3.18, "Abra Kadabra" No episode on 4/4, because of Legends finale and iZombie premiere. 4/11 - ? So they've scheduled 6 new episodes in a row so far. If they want the season finale to fall on May 23 (Iris' death date), they need to skip 2 weeks. Then again, they scheduled the valentine's episode 2 weeks late, so we'll see if the writers' vision and the network scheduling match up.

I know this is the Beast's name, but for the life of me, I cannot think of where I learned this from! I read the novelization of the movie as a kid, but I'm not sure that's it....

I still like the 'Wally is Savitar' theory, but there are also a lot of clues that it could some alternate version of Barry. One thing that caught my attention was when Savitar mentioned Reverb -- Wally wasn't there for that, but Barry was. Oooh, I'm waiting for the reactions when everyone realizes Iris is wearing THAT outfit. It's not the first (or second!) time they have stuff in one episode that contradicts (or ignores) stuff in the the one(s) before it. Is no one in charge of continuity?? Are they not watching the show? I mean, however you feel about asking permission to marry, it was implied in the last episode that Barry had at least talked to Joe. ("Joe held on to [the ring] for me until tonight.") So then Joe being upset with Barry not asking permission was just confusing.
