In a surprising show of competency, it was an SCPD officer putting the Arrow's stuff into evidence, not Oliver. :)

And The Golden Arrow Goes To...: Awards, Nominations, and Recognition
apinknightmare replied to statsgirl's topic in Arrow
If people aren't hurting anyone, then I don't see anything at all wrong with being passionate and vocal about fandom. And no offense to Thea (because I love her), but the reporters who ask for questions know what drives traffic to their site - Oliver and Felicity do that. If I had to guess, Thea? Not so much. So it's probably not the sheer number of questions about O&F being thrown out there (although I can't deny that probably has something to do with it) so much as it is the picking and choosing of questions whose answers will get them hits. -
And The Golden Arrow Goes To...: Awards, Nominations, and Recognition

They're getting their names and shows out in front of industry people? That's the only thing I can think of. Seems like a wasted exercise if it isn't about exposure. -

Not snarking at all, because I honestly don't have a full grasp of this process, but isn't this all just an exercise in exposure since Arrow/Flash don't have a shot in hell for acting? Surely the actors know that, so if the network didn't put them on the ballot, then they're just doing a little self-promoting. Nothing wrong with that! -
I don't think his beliefs about Felicity being able to be in a relationship have anything to do with how he views her contributions at all. If we're going by the theme of the season and the very reason why Oliver told her he couldn't be with her in the first place, it's because in his mind he (and Ray too, by wearing a mask) was living as two different people - Oliver and the Arrow, and he couldn't dedicate his life to one and still have the other*. IMO, if anything, it's a compliment to Felicity in that he doesn't see that same conflict in her. She's Felicity when she's in the Arrow cave, and she's Felicity when she isn't - a hero at all times. She's actually in the place that Oliver was getting to in the finale by beginning to realize that the hero part of him and the Oliver part of him are all the same person. *Not at all trying to make the argument that his reasoning wasn't stupid!

The Starling City Times: News and Media about Arrow

Maybe them actually being in a relationship? Since at that time Felicity hadn't told Oliver how she felt and they hadn't done more than kiss? IDK. -
There's a new writer who's taking the title in a different direction like the article said, so I don't think they care so much because they aren't targeting these comics at the fans of the show anymore. Personally, I don't care since I didn't read those comics anyway. I'm interested in the dynamic Oliver, Diggle and Felicity have on the show now, not something kind of the same, but different.

Yes. Diggle and Felicity's run ended a while ago.

Social Media and Behind the Scenes: AKA Everything Else Not "News and Media"

Well, if it was a fan war thing, maybe someone bought the followers for her, haha. ETA: as in without her knowledge, in order to win what seems like a really idiotic argument. -

Could be a celebrity thing. Could be too that they boosted the post (not sure if that's a service that Facebook offers for free to verified celebrity accounts), and paid for that. I do it when I release a book that I want to market, just to get word out. If she boosted a post about a charity or some kind of thing to do with her website that she wanted to drive traffic to, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. -

He wasn't mentioned in the list of people close to Oliver in wonderwall's post that I quoted, which is what I was referring to. -

With the talk of social media presence having a hand in SA getting the Casey Jones role over whoever else he was up against, I wonder if maybe she's trying to pad her followers because she's got her eye on a role and thinks that might help? Although I suppose being that obvious about it probably isn't helpful, haha. I do kind of wonder about whoever noticed the trend in the first place though. Who even cares? -

I think that person meant that she wasn't originally in the Green Arrow comics, not that she's an original character. -
I got the feeling the Felicity knows what her father was up to and why he left, not necessarily that she remembers that much about him. And the way Donna talked about him seemed like he got into some kind of a mess and took off to "protect" them. Given that seems to be just about everyone's motivating factor on this show, that's probably it, haha.
-
There weren't any outside threats as far as they knew, were there? I think they thought they were fighting on an empty, under construction bridge - I don't think they knew the SCPD was watching. They were far away, weren't they? I can't remember.
-
You didn't imply anything either way, I get what you're saying. I understand why they didn't have Oliver wearing his old suit since Felicity told him before he went off to fight that he wasn't that guy anymore, that he was different now (followed by Oliver saying he didn't want to be that guy anymore, that he was someone new). The sniper probably didn't go for a headshot because he works for the SCPD and it seems like ineptitude is a standard qualifying trait for those guys.
-
I think that they wanted the shock value of Oliver getting shot by SCPD and they wanted the symbolic value of Oliver besting Ra's in the exact fight they had before Oliver's death in 3x09. So, they sacrificed the silliness of that cut along Ra's side so that they could have both, since Oliver and Ra's couldn't be shirtless in this duel because they needed Oliver to have his "armor" on so he could survive the gunshots, and explaining how and why Felicity or anyone would've managed to get Roy's Arrow suit out of containment would've taken up time they didn't have. Plus, I can only imagine the criticism Felicity would've gotten for trying to rescue a suit while a virus was being spread throughout the city when people were already criticizing her for, you know, not wanting Oliver to die after Quentin called her to warn her about it, haha.

True. I'd be more likely to think it was something along those lines if he didn't post things and then delete them all the time, haha. -

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
apinknightmare replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
He did though. He bristled at her taking time off for the dinner (and that was more about him having difficulty accepting that she was moving on - as he admitted to Diggle - than wanting her to prioritize their mission over her private life IMO), but he didn't try to stop her or say anything about it other than his terse, "do what you want." Even though Oliver asked about her while she was gone and indicated that he needed her help to catch Cutter, Diggle was the one who contacted her for help while she was out to dinner with Ray, not Oliver. So yeah, I agree with you that about Diggle not being helpful in that situation, but I don't think Oliver sent her any mixed messages there. This is true! -
Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
apinknightmare replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
True, he couldn't make himself say it would never work out between them, and he couldn't deny that he loved her. But at the end of their conversation in the hallway, after Felicity said that she told him once they talked it would be over, she followed through with that and he didn't dangle a single maybe. He doubled-down on the "I can't be with you" talk. So I still don't get why she would've been hoping things would be different, because he never gave her any indication that they would be after that night. -

I get what you're saying. I don't think that was her struggling to move on so much as it being difficult wanting something and hearing again that she can't have it. Prior to that in the same episode she even told Diggle that if Oliver had a problem with what she was doing then he needed to be the one to say it. Kinda seemed like she was over his bullshit even before that scene with Cutter. And yeah, she didn't fully pursue Ray until 15, but that wasn't because of anything Oliver did IMO. She would've started something with Ray in ep 7 if he hadn't run out on her after he kissed her. -

He did do that, but you could tell by his reaction to Felicity's reaction that he very quickly realized that was a no. I'm just having difficulty with this because Felicity never showed a single ounce of hesitation when it came to moving on, and she never pined over Oliver or sulked about his decision. She told him it would be over once he backed off, and she followed through with that. She pursued the thing with Ray, which is exactly what I would expect from the character that I knew for two years prior. She's never taken Oliver's shit, and she didn't when it came to this. Oliver was completely honest and open with her about his feelings (which is new for him), and she didn't let any of that sway her into not moving on. It's a win on both sides, IMO. I mean, I wouldn't have blamed her if she did have difficulty moving on, but that is not supported in the text at all.
