Yeah, I may "upgrade" to the slightly nicer apt. It even has a cute, small backyard which would be great for the pup when it's raining and/or dark. I don't mind the coin op laundry, I've lived with it for the past 3 years, it's just getting old, along with living with "younger" right out of college professionals-I'm way more than a few years out. I've actually never had a car-college town I didn't need one or used friends & in Philly aside from public transit if I want to go to South NJ (not serviced by PATCO) I use family who live there & give gas/take you out to lunch money. It would just be nice not to be strapped if I lived in one of those nice apt highrises with amenities. Someday, someday, maybe I guess!

I don't have a car so I have to stay close(ish) to the campus/main hospital. Right now I live about 1.5 miles away into West Philly but it's a nice walk through mostly campus to get to the main hospital. I could potentially live on the completely other side of Philly, past Old City (historic district) into Fishtown but if i can be blunt. I fear I'm too "cute, white girl" for that area. Plus my dog is a fluffy goldendoodle who lets anyone pet him so I'm not sure he'd stop someone from coming after us HAHA. And after Baltimore, Philly has very high police/people standoffs/riots etc. I live in an older converted house now & may move to one of their "newer" converted houses where the apartments are a bit nicer, better layouts etc, but they still don't have w/d in the unit, just tried and true coin operated in the basement. With the bump in salary, it'll probably be worth staying in something affordable though (slightly over 1k is still considered afforable in Philly :( )

My username is initials & height- 4'9.5. I haven't been lurking much as I've been busy but I was just informed that i'm officially permanent at my job & it comes with a 15 THOUSAND $ pay increase. The director asked me if that was ok because apparently they couldn't find what my old salary was. I was previously working for the same employer UPenn, in a different sept before being laid off due to grant funding. The HR dept at the that job stunk & now I couldn't be happier that they didn't have their stuff together :) The only bad news is I still cannot afford a nice apt (nice = updated kitchen, w/d in unit & central air) unless I have a cosigner :( I hate how inflated prices are around the universities! A standard updated nice 1 bdrm can cost anywhere between 1600-1800!

I've been in a Carly/Kirk relationship. There was talk of "I see you at the end of the aisle, do you want children etc" I was absolutely torn apart when it ended but mine ended better because he really did care for me instead of Kirk's blaise attitude, I feel he showed Carly. I didn't find Carly's talking heads too extreme, although a bit manic, school girl so crazy in love. She thought they were solid & Kirk didn't at all express any small tiny doubts during their time together unless he did and we didn't see any of the conversations. I think Kirk is a shitty conversationalist & I do think he led her on a bit.. IF, he only really wanted to express doubts that it was moving too fast. He needed to spell it out more, instead of saying "you're ahead and I'm behind", you say "I don't I want to break up BUT yada yada yada". I think Carly freaked out a bit too quickly BUT he also didn't say "I DO still want to see where this goes after Paradise, I DON'T want to break up, but I can't give you a ring in 2 days". If you're having doubts, you don't let them stew for a week and you definitely don't talk to people beforehand and just simple say "ugh this will be hard". I think IF he really did have strong feelings for her, he would have been much more upset when she freaked out & may have even said/thought "oh no, don't leave, I do really care for you, i just want you to understand where I'm coming from etc. I don't literally want to lose you-what have I done etc". He seemed so calm and although he seemed surprised of Carly's reaction, he didn't say the right things to get her to sit down, look at him, want to hear him out. He just kept badgering her about "deserving a conversation" but he didn't really seem upset, sad, torn apart over the break up IF they were that serious like we were led to believe. in that way, he definitely led her on. I mean it's a damn TV show if you're having doubts just give her the final rose that you of course want to explore the relationship in the real world (like Cody/Michelle Money) and let Tanner/Jade have the proposal. Don't have a grand declaration on TV, keep your mouth shut and end it quietly. But I'd guess that ABC badgers the contestants about tv moments and that he felt he HAD to break it off. I've always thought that about dating shows but they don't ever end quietly, with "playing along".

I feel like Lt. Green's girlfirend, cannot remember her name has been pregnant for a long, long time but I guess in the show's timeline it hasn't been that long since they left their families. I wonder if that will become a focus in Season 3, one of the first immune babies to be born. I guess we'll see. I like this show in the summer, it's fun and entertaining so I'll probably be back. And there is usually nothing else on during the summer (Big Brother and the horrible Bachelor shows don't count).

i felt the same way for a few things. I understand they wouldn't remember a lot but when they were asked what gets shouted at them or what fans say back to them (Oye with the poodles already, Cooper Boom, Buy me a Boa), I thought it was pretty shitty that they all couldn't remember at all. Alexis even listened to a fan try to explain cooper boom and just said "oh went away to college, said cooper boom from coopertone" and I found it annoying. You'd think they would have let someone explain the whole gist then say "oh i remember or I don't etc". I did like that Lauren said "oh that is funny" and started laughing while Amy was explaining Oye with the poodles already. And she called Scott out asking if Luke had a girlfriend. Keiko seemed to remember a lot which was nice. Obviously it's dishartening when we love and obsess so much and the actors don't :(

I remember Tanner and Joe having a discussion when they were trying to confront him. Joe kept saying "didn't you give them a list, didn't you have one?" Tanner replied with something like 'he did have a list but if a choice further down the list was there before his #1 showed up, he wouldn't have a dick about it'.

I wasn't sure where to put this & wanted to put it in a thread that had activity. I'm furnishing my apartment & am making a gallery wall with prints from movies/TV. Does anyone know if I can find a print of "So, it's a show? It's a lifestyle. It's a religion." I've found prints of other quotes & one print that has a bunch of GG quotes but I'm hoping to find that one in particular since it's such a great quote for a movie/TV wall.

I'd love to rewatch Trista's season of The Bachelorette, just to see how they did everything again back then. It's been so long, it would be cool to see what the franchise was when it was new.

I like Jason, Molly & Catherine on Celebrity Wife Swap. Poor Catherine came off lonely & stifled. I also doubt that she's just a homemaker, I thought she had a card business or party planning business? Something along those lines. Sean didn't come off well at all, he was so set in his gender roles! I did think it was odd that Catherine seemingly got mad so quickly at Sean trying something new without her. Other than that, it seemed like they took the show in stride & didn't get so nuts.

Shawn, Kaitlyn, Trista and Ryan played the "Newlywed Game" on GMA this morning. I just watched the clip and they definitely had the same person write out the answers on ALL the cards. Yes, lookeyloo, I was referencing The Big Bang Theory. LOL you all are making me feel young & I'm almost 30! I agree I can't stand the tweens nowadays, I swear I wasn't like that when I was younger. I was the dorky kid who liked to read, I never dressed & did the stuff teens do now. But I also didn't grow up with the internet, snapchat, twitter etc.

Honestly, I fell asleep about halfway through ATFR. I didn't even remember Britt. I'm surprised they didn't bring her out.

I've watched Ashley's season more than once as well. We were both at UPenn when she was shooting the season and I kept hoping I'd catch a glimpse of her! She was a great Bachelorette and she was great on Brad 1.0 as well. JP is my second favorite after Ames. LOVED HIM. She had a lot of great guys on her season & JP was adorable. I still follow them and even keep Twitter up during the show because JP live tweets about each season are hilarious.

This ATFR reminded me of Ashley & JP's. Except of course, Ashley & JP had their actual story shown on TV after the Bentley drama. Ashley defended JP's jealously and they just both couldn't get enough of each other. I feel like both Kaitlyn and Shawn kinda of got shafted. They didn't get the "pretty people in pretty places do pretty things season", even though they brought drama, both Nick and Shawn admitted it was not what it seemed at all. They even got a bad ATFR. No pics or talk of the rendevouz during the months where they were in hiding, not much wedding, happy, happy talk. Throughout the season you barely even heard conversations between Kaitlyn & anyone. Even though, CH spun it to be happy, happy, joy, joy in the end. That could be Kaitlyn but production screwed her too. In the end, the stupid sex wasn't even a big damn deal lol.

Yes, I'm not sure why/how the baby died. Not sure if they were at home either. My friend had OHS 3 years ago to repair a defect found. They said it was from rubella (I believe-I can't think of what it was of the top of my head) when she was young. She nor anyone in her family ever smoked, she rarely even drank. She just desperately always wanted to have children and was finally at the right place/time in her life to be pregnant. I think I was actually more excited for her baby than my niece. I didn't mean that to be cold but I'm not super close to my stepsister, although our parents have been married since I was 5 & she was 10. I also already have 6 nieces, nephews so this was #7. It was her first though so still very exciting. My friend is like a 30 year old, going on 13. We're dorks, love HP, BBT, pop culture etc. They didn't find out what they were having and decorated the nursery with little cartoon robots. I think I was excited to see two cool, awesome, dorky people raise a cool, awesome kid LOL, since I feel like it would kind of be the same if I ever did decide to have kids, although I'm not a 'baby' person and couldn't ever see myself with kids. Rather than my niece who I know will be all bows, pink, tutus and by the book. At least I can take pride in the fact that I'm already the cool aunt who lives in a big city with a cute, handsome doggie and gives the coolest gifts. I can't wait until my oldest niece is reading to get her into HP. She already knows there are TWO theme parks for the characters at Disney LOL.

I find it hilarious that BOTH Shawn & Nick agree that the producers messed with the show & that Shawn seemed annoyed that the show wasn't about their love story but involved into a feud.

I know they have my niece in a bassinet/swing/hammock type thing in their bedroom. By the looks of it, she could sleep there for awhile, since she's small. According to my sister she's been a pretty good sleeper so far.

My friend was already discharged by the time I went into work. They said she was discharged yesterday. Not sure when, but I know she let me know around 7 pm that the baby had passed unexpectedly that day. I have so many questions-of course I won't ask her but I work at one of the best hospitals in the country, next to THE best children's hospital in the country (UPenn & CHOP). Of course things happen at any hospital, it's just such a shame. I wonder if they were discharged early and she died at home or if they were still in the hospital. I'm sure I'll know more if/when she wants to talk. I just let her know I was thinking of her-I don't have a way to get to her house. She lives in the suburbs and I live right in the city without a car. In happier news, my niece is doing amazing. My sister is beside herself that Gianna is so good, happy, quiet so far, BFing well etc. She's a little peanut too-born at 6 lbs, is now 5lbs 10oz. We had to go buy her preemie clothes/diapers yesterday because she kept having blowouts in the newborns because they were big!

So, I don't normally post but I do read this forum each day, sometimes multiple times a day. Just felt like I needed to post this-never sure what to do or say in these situations. My sister was pregnant, just had a baby girl this past Wednesday. They are already home and doing great. A good friend of mine had her baby girl the same day. Just got word that she died very unexpectedly this morning. Not sure if it was SIDS or not. I'm not sure what to say or do. I work at the hospital that my friend delivered in. I may go in the morning and see if she is still inpatient. At least to offer support, even if I just sit with her. It's such a shock since my sister is in the same situation and is doing absolutely fantastic. My heart breaks for my friend. We were even texting earlier this weekend because there was a HP marathon on ABC Family & she joked she was starting the baby early on the love for HP. We love HP, I even got the baby HP onesies. One said "it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow up to be" with a lightening bolt graphic. Now it makes me terribly sad to think of my friend going home & seeing the onesie without her daughter. I can't even imagine going home without your child, seeing the nursery etc. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I'd say it's not too much of an attention grab. To me, Jason & Shawn haven't seemed to always be in the public eye except for right after their seasons. Jason & Molly/Shawn & Catherine live realitively quiet normal lives now. Like Trista & Ryan.

His real name is Chris & yes he was adorable during that interview! He reminds me of Ames from Ashley's season. I LOVED him, he was good looking, adorable, very smart, well spoken, funny etc. Like Ashton Kutcher said smart is definitely sexy!
