Dang. I admire all of those folks. This is disappointing. -
S05.E01: The Departed (1) / S05.E02: The Departed (2)

The waterfall reminded me of Skogafoss. I was lucky enough to visit Iceland a few years ago and it was indeed amazing but unfortunately I did not have a religious vision. :) Skogafoss is near the black sand beaches and the volcano that recently erupted (don't ask me to spell its name), so it would jive with the general location of Floki's landing. -
I absolutely love some of the comments regarding Meri planning an, "epic trip," with a BFF. (I don't know why but I'm assuming it's yet another jaunt to Disneyland.) These people hit the nail representing the source of her problems on the head: "How about going with your husband?" "What you need is a husband. You are a wonderful woman with a lot of love to share."

All Episodes Talk: Picture It. PTer. Today.
LilWharveyGal replied to Stinger97's topic in The Golden Girls
Now I'm trying to remember all of the non-house bathrooms that appeared in the series: The bathroom at the Mangiacavallo wedding. The bathroom at the Rusty Anchor. The bathroom at the party Rose attended with Isaac Newton. The bathroom the girls had to share with the boys on their tropical vacation. Are there any others? Yes, I know I need a life. -

I can think of two: the large, blue-tiled bathroom that Dorothy and Rose renovated, and the smaller white/gray? bathroom where Max accidentally joined Dorothy in the shower. During the series I think they all referenced having a separate bathroom attached to their bedrooms (or entered their room through a doorway inferred to be a bathroom), but those are the only two I can remember seeing. -
I'm watching "Man-Proof" for the first time and Rosalind Russell's wedding ensemble has totally distracted me from the plot. Is it medieval? Futuristic? Maybe if I ever stop laughing I'll be able to decide.

I have zero idea how much #ads on social media bring in, but Maddie has shilled for one of those monthly box subscriptions, and Aspyn for some kind of nutritional drink.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
LilWharveyGal replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Aha! So she's not even going to impart any of her $6K worth of nutrition or health "knowledge" to her clients, but just listen and support. So what's the point of hiring her? My friends and I do that for each other for free. -
I just finished the Final Dossier this afternoon. It was a quick read, and I heartily recommend it to anyone who, like me, was disappointed in the recent series. I think it covered everybody except Dougie Jones and the Vegas contingent and it really helped connect the dots.

It sounds very touching when you summarize it here. I'll admit, I couldn't appreciate that scene during the show because I it just added to my intense anger at RA. Of course he was the one who picked out Blue's name. Everything has to be RA's way or the big whiny highway. And like many of you have already pointed out, it's ridiculous that the letters D, N, and A have not yet dropped from anyone's lips. I'd seriously consider bailing on next season, but I want to see how Charley's business plans play out.

S02.E12: Propaganda Arms
LilWharveyGal replied to ParadoxLost's topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
For your reading pleasure: Quailynn McDaniel Her story is fascinating, and yes, she and her husband have had a rough time since leaving the cult. ETA: Here's a new article about Quailynn, in her own words. -
Just speaking for myself, the reason I was most disappointed in Charley is because she doesn't have the luxury of solely dealing with this issue as an emotional family matter. She also needs to consider things as a businesswoman and Darla's employer. Darla was hired because she was RA's girlfriend, but that doesn't mean it's valid to fire her when that relationship changes. We've seen Darla hustle and perform her job well. I don't know if LA is a state where Darla could contest her firing, but I don't think a defense of, "But Judge! She said she was my brother's babymama and she's maybe not!" would fly for Charley. Plus, Darla certainly has a troubled past but it's not like the character just showed up 5 minutes ago with a baby she claimed to be RA's. She's been around and the family has gotten to know her and has seen her progress, and I had hoped they would be invested in and somewhat care about her as a person. (Not as much as the sainted RA of course, but at least as a fellow human being.) I would never expect them to take Darla's side, but nor did I think they would be so cold. They would know exactly what her work means for her stability and sobriety, and furthermore how that impacts Blue. I understand it would be awkward for Charley to see Darla around the office, but couldn't she at least let her stay until she found another job or something? Anyway, those were my initial thoughts. (I blame my business background.) I don't hate Charley - on the contrary, she's one of my favorite characters - but I do hate this plot. It makes everyone look bad, IMO, and I think the soapiness is beneath this show.

I expected the family to revert to full-on enabler mode when RA decided to share his version of Darla's story, but I was really disappointed that Charley went so far as to fire Darla. I thought Charley was the level-headed one who might, oh I don't know, at least ask for some freaking clarification.

S02.E11: Aftermath of Aftermath
LilWharveyGal replied to a topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
$cientology has already smeared Ramina. (I'm sure we're all shocked.) Here's Mike's analysis of their comments. -
Yep! Creating a torch out of a bone and recovering his hat after a near-death experience were very Last Crusade to me.
-
In this particular case I was annoyed because Jurassic Park is not from the '80's.

I loved these little shout-outs, but I couldn't believe they visited the Chicago bus station and passed up the chance to do more of an homage.

Can anyone who has read the book shed a little more light on the hypnosis session? Since we know that Jeremiah was a fraud, nothing about that scene really worked for me. There was no question to me that Grace was faking. But to what end? I figured the story of the murders wouldn't have a clear resolution, but I wasn't expecting such a sad downward spiral for Dr. Jordan. Wow.

Google tells me that the specific version used in the commercial was recorded by Doris Day in 1950. It's also from the show Guys And Dolls.

Darla's Dad: You should really be honest with Ralph Angel about (something shady), Darla. I think he can handle it. Me: HAVE YOU EVEN MET HIM, MISTER?!?!

You're much more generous than I am, @AZChristian. I tend to doubt that any of them give a rat's behind either way.
