In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths
LilWharveyGal replied to Kromm's topic in Everything Else TV
Aww, Elizabeth. đĨ On a purely shallow note, I was sure that age 91 had to be a typo. IMO, she looked much younger than her 60-something years during KuA. -
When it comes to the fictional stories vs. true stories issue, I'm generally on the side of sticking with history.....however, if anyone's interested in doing their own compare and contrast I'd still give a shout-out to the 1953 version of Titanic which also focused on a set of fictional passengers (including the always awesome Barbara Stanwyck), and IMO was a much more engrossing and emotional storyline.

I actually really like the 1971 version on Persuasion. Yes, the production values are non-existent and some of the hair and wardrobe choices are way too '70's, but it's very true to the story IMO.

I had no time for ATGB as a teen, either. I thought it was a total snooze. Now it's a different story; I can appreciate the charm and I try to catch reruns whenever I can. (And my favorite line-up back in the day was KUA, The Vicar of Dibley, and Are You Being Served? đ)

As a dorky child I may or may not have attempted more than once to build an accurate replica in The Sims. Maybe. I've admitted nothing. đ

I love to wrap up group meals with, "Would anyone care for fruit or dessert?" and see if anyone gets it.

I had to see it again. RIP. -
haley.m.manning is a "branding and life photographer." How natural and spontaneous! Something about that pose/angle makes Maddie look just like Janelle.

Have y'all ever seen the videos where decoy packages that contain a camera and a glitter bomb are left out for porch pirates? It's by no means perfect justice but it is slightly satisfying.

I guess I'm no longer hip to the lingo. Is she saying she's amused or pissed?

Most Romantic Movie of All Time
LilWharveyGal replied to RealHousewife's topic in Everything Else Movies
The book is great and in my opinion definitely deserves its status as a classic. Normally I am team Book First! but if you haven't read literature from Austen's era before then I recommend seeing the movie first to ease yourself into her world and get a sense of what's going on. That's what I did and I think if I had tried to read the book first I would have given up. And if I can also cheat, I'd recommend starting with the '95 miniseries version. đ -
Beautiful. Will someone please pass the Kleenex?

My tired eyes didn't pick up on the comma and I thought you were breaking the news that Maddie is running a large finishing school from her home. đ¤Ļââī¸ I'm sure when we all think of etiquette and deportment, we picture Maddie Brown Brush.
