  1. Ditto on both counts! I thought young Tony was very well cast, and had some of the same mannerisms. And i spent more time than was warranted on how he made it to D1 basketball with one year....
  2. I can't believe they didn't show us Granger and Sam going head to head in the burpee contest! I very much like that thus far, Deeks and Kensi act the same in a tense work situation. Meaning, he doesn't try to protect her or go in first or make her wait outside. He trusts her and her training. The added workday flirting is just a bonus!
  3. Oh Eric Mabius is clearly shady. And is going to play on the fire fighter brotherhood connex to get casey to do something he shouldn't. Or Eric Mabius secretly beats the waitress that was giving Casey the eye, and since he can't resist a damsel in distress, he'll put himself in the middle of it. I think Boden took several weeks off, maybe it just didn't appear that way? And last week Donna asked Hermann to get him out of the house, so Hermann told him everything that had been going on with Chief douchebag and begged him to come back. Mouch really brought it tonight. He had me in tears in the kitchen scene, begging the brother for another chance. And who knew Platt had a heart?! I hope the girl isn't going to break his heart. I thought Otis's immediate hatred of Rice was a little out of character for him. I understood Cap's reluctance since he would lose his girlfriend in Severide, but Otis was OTT. Am very intrigued by the new doctor angle in Severide's life. What did he do to break her heart?!? Last I knew about Newhouse, he had to go visit family and decided to stay, IIRC?
  4. I loved all of it. Henry: "Quaker values blah blah." Bess: "HA! world reknowned religious scholar right there!" I esp loved the convo as they walked down the hall after Jason was expelled: "Hmm, I wonder if this is going to make it awkward for your sister to still go to school here.." "Oh, it's going to be TOTALLY awkward...." I was also surprised the principal (who was giving me major Uncle Buck vibes, save for the missing mole) didn't watch the video and appropriately punish the other kid. Debra Monk killed it, as usual. Daisy can go fly a kite. Phoebe seemed to handle her abrupt promotion with no problems. I'm sure I'm naive about things that happen in my workplace, but I try to remind myself there's a reason that person is in charge, and probably knows more about the situation than i do. Daisy for sure should know that the Secretary has much more detail on a situation than she does, and acts accordingly. (with the usual disclaimer here that of course some higher-ups are evil, CIA guy as example #1.)
  5. Thank you so very much! I absolutely remember that episode, but clearly did not recognize the boy. Whoops. He was homeless? Has/had a sick parent? I clearly watched that ep and promptly forgot all about him! TY!
  6. Does anyone know who Steve was playing catch with at the beginning? I rewound it twice to try to catch a name and no luck. And then I thought that I should know who he is because it was all so non-chalant. Vaguely I'm recalling - was there a boy whose father got arrested by 5-0 and Steve took him under his wing? I don't pay too much attention to ongoing s/l simply because I like this show for sun and kamekona and silly cases of the week. Also Steve shirtless, if I can be honest. I def heard Steve ask Grover "Where's Grace?" and Grover responded "Max took her to Rachel's." Maybe Rachel and Stan still have a house on the island and happened to be in town? Since Grace is in school in HI, maybe Rachel spends more time on the island.
  7. I Love Love LOVE this season. Count me in as someone who cried during the wooden duck swap. It's like we saw Lemon's heart grow three sizes that day! I very much enjoyed Zoe's description of how she and Lavon spent time together. "No! that's when we watch So You Think You Can Dance! We save up all week!" Tee! "But he gives me my strawberries in the shape of a smiley face!" Also, I tweeted to LBB that since Grey's Zola has become a toddler, baby Ethel is officially the cutest baby on tv. I'm not too proud to admit that I squee'd aloud when she replied - she said that Baby Ethel is actually played by a little boy named Loyal. I think RB has knocked it out of the park this season with her timing and delivery. I can only hope she lands somewhere else on my dial in a comedy of her own.
  8. THAT'S who he was! thank you!
  9. I have ZERO experience with this also, but my guess is that they *do have to keep them in case the child has some sort of genetic disease, etc. that wasn't known/disclosed during donation so they can contact the donor to get more info.
  10. I both love and hate you for this. <day wasted.>
  11. Josh Gad was fantastic. I liked that the girls on the street made Jess & Cece "pay" them for phone use with Cece's purse. I think if I was Cece in that position, I would've worn the tshirt inside out.
  12. My nephew just did same. Two years at MoCo and then two years at Salisbury. No post-school debt and just as good education. He's a cop now.
  13. Welch and Casey had a Head Nod Moment wherein Welch silently thanks Casey for knocking him down. Then later Welch refuses to back Chief Douchebag re: what actually happened at the fire with the decision to send Casey's team to help the girl/uncle. Interim Chief gets booted; Boden is back next shift. Casey/Severide bromance, etc. etc. Mouch goes to meet kid; chickens out once he sees kid in front of diner and drives away. Mouch just about broke my heart. Since Truck 81 was cleared of all negligence charges, does that mean Chief Pridgen is personally liable? Since he made the "tactical decision" to send Casey to other emergency? Oh, yes, and as Watermelon so eloquently describes above, Mills is trying to get medical clearance to get back on Squad. Since this is CF and Casey is peachy fresh as a daisy with a bruised noggin, I'm sure Mills will be cleared. However, does that mean Welch gets moved? or, because he has seniority, Mills would have to go to another house? (I didn't like that Brett was somewhat bitchy with Mills about trying to get back on squad. It's not like he's been hiding his feelings on that.)
  14. ^^^ agreed. I think my comment wasn't clear. I agree that she chickened out from seeing Derek because she didn't want to fight and has trouble talking things out. But I think she let Maggie *think she chickened out because of plane crash flashback.
  15. In my opinion, this is how I interpreted Mere's disappearing act. She goes to airport with every intention of going to DC. She panics. Goes to hotel to regroup. Realizes she likes it and stays. However, as she related that she couldn't get on the plane to Maggie, I took it to mean PTSD plane crash panic. So for the next several minutes I was very confused as to why she had to hide that from Derek because surely he would understand. Then she tells Alex she couldn't go because she didn't want to fight. I think she intentionally misled Maggie with the "i'm afraid to fly" story to engender some sympathy. She told her true person the truth. Which doesn't make any of it right. I have been enjoying this season, even without Cristina, and thought Meredith was great the past several episodes. But this one has me shaking my head.
  16. I agree. I definitely think there was something there. She knew they were being recorded. She clearly was trying to send him a message. I don't know what it is... I can only hope that Nate has been in on it the whole time because he loves her and knows she will take care of getting the charges dropped.
  17. i liked when Thapa threw Deeks under the bus about "listening." tee Brooding Callen is the scariest Callen of them all.
  18. At least George didn't appear too orange this week. I absolutely love Zoe trying to be the best mama to an Alabama boy. Rachel Bilson is really throwing herself into these final episodes. She's got such great comedic timing - i hope she ends up elsewhere on my TV. I also liked Brick's heart to heart with Zoe. And her immediate grasp of the situation and its ramifications. "Between me, and Crazy Earl, and your father - no offense -" "none taken" "we don't stand a chance!" Now Jaime King and Scott Porter's wife are both pregnant - what's in the water in Bluebell??
  19. Good to see Antonio get some lovin'. I hate to like Voight, but his handling of Bunny was spot-on. I still love Nadia and her efforts to better herself. I hope they continue next week and let us see how/if Sgt Platt gets in trouble for the escape. Roman still bugs. Glad to see a little hesitation from Burgess - I'd be hesitant, too, in a shootout just weeks after I got shot!
  20. So good to see Bram all over my TV this season. Cyrus's gigolo (Scandal), Denna's firefighter (Marry Me), and interim chief next week on Chicago Fire. I just always called her Kate of the Bangs.
  21. The Kevins bring it for me every week. "bread." "meat." "bread." "I have to go check into a hotel to clip my toenails!" <increasingly shrieky> I love Denna and Gil on their own. There's no voice of reason and hilarity ensues. Good to see Bram (TWW) all over my TV this season. Cyrus's gigolo (Scandal), Denna's firefighter, and interim chief next week on Chicago Fire. I totally busted out laughing at the end tag - I did NOT expect them to eat the glasses. I don't know how they did it without cracking a smile!
  22. I liked that Fay is going to make Coach work for it. I don't buy that Cece thinks of Schmidt as a friend. She left her fiancé at the altar for him. Understood that after that he lied to her about Elizabeth, but if she can forgive him to be friends, then I think she is still in love with him. Ben Falcone was hilarious.
  23. Who didn't see Shaft dying? I mean, that couldn't be telegraphed more. I liked the Molly's scene. Also, CLEARLY the girl at the bar is trouble. I kept waiting when they got to her house for her husband to pop up. She had crazy eyes. Casey needs a refresher on Barney Stinson's crazy/hot scale. I'm glad Severide is starting to heal. I am waiting for the blonde captain to officially hit on Kelly. Not only is Gabby a super duper firefighter/detective/paramedic, but she is also a hostage negotiator! #specialsnowflake GAH
