Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
Phebemarie replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
I find this incredibly annoying. Not the images...just the speaker...and the fact it’s on all the time. -
If they've already filmed season 32, is that the one that will be shown some time this year?

Kids Baking Championship - General Discussion
Phebemarie replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Kids Baking Championship
I was rooting for Reggie. We Oregonians have to stick together. I think from the beginning of the finale (and in the dinosaur episode, too), the editors went out of their way to highlight all of Reggie's negative moments. They needed a villain to prop against bubbly Sam and super-efficient Grayson. They talked about giving to charity; he talked about investing in the stock market. Horrors! No one made a big deal about Sam nabbing the walnuts, but Reggie was a meanie for taking Grayson's PEE-cans. Most people in Oregon don't pronounce pecan. PEE-CAN. We just don't. I'm a teacher and have worked with middle schoolers since the beginning of my career. Some of them are not easy to like. Some of them have a lot to deal with at home. Some of them are socially awkward for reasons that they can't control. I felt sorry that Reggie seemed to be an introverted, focused kid in a kitchen full of cuties who were more camera-friendly. -
I'm afraid the disruption to this season will mean the end of the race. Any updates?

I wondered if Alex’s hoarseness was related to chemotherapy treatments. It makes me sad to point this out, but his eyebrows look very sparse.

The Annual Westminster Dog Show - General Discussion
Phebemarie replied to Bella's topic in The Annual Westminster Dog Show
When I was growing up, we had a brown poodle named Dino. He was a doggy daredevil who lived to be 16 years old. He jumped off a bridge, got hit by a Volkswagon, and was knocked unconscious by a piece of fire wood my dad was collecting on the beach. Because he could escape from our six-foot fence, he was a dog on the loose in our neighborhood and probably fathered any number of labradoodles before they were an expensive designer dog. Every spring the organic farmer in the neighborhood had a visit from Dino who rolled in manure and ran home to show off his seasonal perfume. He was the antithesis of fussy dog show poodles. I loved the silly thing, but he was totally my dad's dog. -

I said the same thing, Mittengirl. I knew there was no chance for the Sheltie or Golden when the Whippet won Reserve Champion. -
The Annual Westminster Dog Show - General Discussion
Phebemarie replied to Bella's topic in The Annual Westminster Dog Show
I didn't watch last night because I thought there was no way the Sheltie would make the t.v. broadcast. Every year we watch the National Dog Show on Thanksgiving hoping the Sheltie gets some air time. Every year the Sheltie is shown during the commercial break to give more air time to the German shepherd and Doberman. (No, I'm not bitter). Thanks to ABC News for giving an update; I'm tuning in tonight to see if Conrad can pull off a miracle. -
Current Plots Discussion: Actually Today's Episode
Phebemarie replied to CatLady's topic in Days Of Our Lives
Are episodes showing on the East coast each day? Here on the West coast, they're only available via On Demand. I'm just wondering if these episodes will be repeated after the impeachment trial is over. Mom enjoys watching Days, but she's not adept at using the On Demand feature. -
Love Island (UK) - General Discussion
Phebemarie replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Love Island (UK)
Anyone out there watching the current season on Hulu? -
Maybe I’m feeling sentimental today, but the scenes with Peter Gallagher really got to me. I hope Zoey does well. I really don’t want to fall for another show that’s only going to last a season.

Pop is also used in my part of Oregon. About 15 years ago, I took a few students on a fast-paced NYC tour. One of the places we visited was Shea Stadium. One of the middle school students asked for a pop from the young woman at concessions. We quickly explained he wanted a Coca-Cola. I still remember the confused expression on her face.

Could the song be something by Donna Summer?

This Toyota commercial is being played on every break, usually when I'm washing the dishes or doing some other activity away from the computer. It might be a beautiful message, but it's played so often I find the song annoying. https://ispot.tv/a/ZTOH

It's not much of a consolation prize, but Bless This Mess continues to bleed huge viewer numbers for ABC after The Connors. -

Only one person has commented on the Bless this Mess premiere on the Primetimer forum. It doesn't even have fan support here. -
Since political figures are already tweeting support for Sean Spicer, we should probably expect him to stay in the cast for the duration. Tom Bergeron was right to be concerned.

When does taping of the new season begin? Has there been any news on how Alex is doing?

I Can See For Miles: The Kids Are Alright In The Media
Phebemarie replied to Meredith Quill's topic in The Kids Are Alright
It took awhile for Pop TV to announce its pickup of One Day at a Time. I keep hoping that there's still hope some streaming service or network will pick up TKAA. The fact that TKAA is still being talked about in media circles makes me wonder why Karey Burke feels the need to defend her decision by scapegoating the audience. -

Someone upthread mentioned The Amazing Race...what do you bet one of the couples will end up on the next season. -

I wonder if the original show brings back Islanders who had an unfortunate time on the show for the next season. Next summer, it would be nice to see Anton, Marli, and possibly Kelsey and Alana have a second chance. -

I've noticed that some couples rarely get screen time, too. Yamen has become the designated side-kick, offering both support and wise cracks any time he's on screen. Stan39 is right. All the other couples are just playing back drop to Kyra, Weston, and Caro's Rom-Com. -

Which couples will be voted the 'least favorite' tomorrow? The obvious: Weston and Emily Kyra and Jered But who will be the third couple? -
Is it possible that botox and fillers are also offered along with haircuts? Some of the women have had some fairly obvious lip plumping.
