I like a good crime drama so am giving this a try. I like Viola Davis, but somehow her acting here seems a little forced and overly dramatic to me. And while I get that they want her to be seen as a busy, purposeful lawyer, all the shots of her walking down long hallways and streets surrounded by underlings emphasizes that she has an odd way of walking...almost like she is having trouble in the high heels striding quickly along.

She made a couple outfits I liked, but her personality and how she acted on the show made her so unlikable and unsympathetic she just evolved into an emotionally stunted bitch! Her performance in the workroom where she returned to help one of the final five was incredible. Most of her talking heads were pretentious, she talked badly about other designers and she came across as u likeable. In the workroom, she did the same thing as well as in the longer after the runway shows. Even if editors were trying to make her look like a villain for this season, she gave them LOTS of material to work with, given her actions, and came across as self important and having an overinflated sense of her importance and talent from day one.

I too dislike the sneaky "in- show" commercials. Give me old fashioned commercials I can fast forward through! They must be very lucrative for The View if they are doing them........

I'm still curious if elizabeth and kids ever made it to see her in the play. It seems like sherrie would have certainly tweeted about it, while liz may be a bit more discrete and not put it out for public consumption. maybe she is waiting for a school holiday day to go?

Last week New York Social Diary had some info on Barbara's birthday party and a photo - she looked great in grey and pink.

Rosie Perez: 2 Snaps (did you know she's Puerto Rican?)

Looks like someone ordered a table that is taller but doesn't have enough surface area and legs placed awkwardly so when the 4 ladies are sitting around it the people on the ends almost have to straddle the table leg. A new table will be ordered pronto! My husband, who never watches this show, was home late this afternoon when I was watching it and watched hot topics with me. He and I were both laughing and enjoying it ( color me surprised). I almost spit out my drink when Whoopi did the call to the coast guard ("Hello? I'm walking on water..." ) I hadn't heard about the ben affleck/ bill maher incident so will need to read up on that. As an aside, just saw ben in Gone Girl this weekend....hadn't read the book so didn't know what to expect .what a creepy and dark plot line...but a good movie!

Perez has been charming and refreshing! I appreciate that her comments are honest and sincere and that she's appeared to have done some research and read up on topics and wants to provide accurate information. (She has representing Latinas positively doing what she does so she could pull back on the Latino "shoutouts" she's done) Also, her wardrobe has been spot on. Classy, fashionable, age appropriate. Whoever is dressing her deserves applause for negating any short, hootchie. Trying to hard to be sexy outfits.

I thought that Whoopi brought up a good point - drones open up a huge crack in privacy assurance can be used to invade anyone's private space. Even if you aren't a TMZ target! Someone could use a drone to see what's in your backyard, far fetched as it may seem. Within a couple years I'll bet there are stories in the news about burglars using drones LOL I hate to see the show spending lots of time discussing the housewives...I did watch the first the New York, Orange County and Washington, D.C. for a while but, man, they evolved to the women "friends" yelling at each other, lying, creating drama and being just painful to watch. Who has friends like that? I know the names of the ones from the other cities just because they make the pop news so much and usually not in a good way. I applaud Nicole for being honest about her disinterest in them!

Watched Friday's show today and I really enjoyed it. All four cohosts spoke intelligently and passionately about issues (like the child with seizures that was aided by marijuana, fame and privacy, etc.) and the show is great to watch. today's show would have been so so so different with Sherri and Elizabeth there to discuss the issues, interact with guests. Its just night and day to me and shows how important the choice and mix of cohosts is...how odd bitty and sherrie last as long as they did? ugh And on a more petty note, I am loving the fashionable, cool, age appropriate clothese the are wearing. Rosie P always looks classy and great. Nicole's outfits are frat. Ro and Whoopi have their own unique styles and good for them! I liked Whoopi's red and white striped top and whisked I could have seen the fabric Better because the black "stripe" looked like it was made up of black human shapes. I'd love to have that top - love a dolman sleeve!

I don't think I ever before applauded and yelled "yes" out loud at the tv when a designer was sent home - but I sure did tonight when korina was let go. She has been unlikeable all season long to me, not for her design or sewing ability, but for the sour, self-important and condescending attitude she has to the other designers. Maybe the producers were editing the footage they shot to make look like a nasty bitch, but they didn't make her say all those mean, passive-aggressive statements degrading other people. She has no class! And the way she deals with stress, as we saw in the workroom during that "sudden death" finale situation was very telling. She was very vocal, very negative, and directing all comment to insult others. What a peach!

Who knows, MedicineCrow! Wouldn't the specifics be in her contract for each movie? She may or may not have elected to receive or been offered some residual payment. And that may or may not have depended on how well the movie did. And may or may not have included additional provisions for how the movie did outside of the U.S. And probably specified a period of time any payments would be paid out and then have an ending date. Based on how her contracts were negotiated, it's totally possible that she no longer receives any income from some or all of her movies.

I am liking her! She does need to talk to whoever on staff is responsible for dressing her.....she had her legs crossed (adorable dress) and black bootie shoes on - a big white sales tag was firmly affixed to the sole of her right foot. Who is responsible for tag removal? LOL

Just wanted to say I am so enjoying this new season. A great balance between more news worthy issues and lighter fare. All four hosts are offering heartfelt, intelligent points of view and discussion in a thoughtful way. Just head and shoulders above what was seen with Elizabeth and Sherri (the two worst cohosts in my opinion). Nicole is coming into her own. Love what rosie P and nicole are wearing - cute, stylish, fun, appropriate. And loved the Jeopardy discussion - the fact that perez said she loves it makes me love her more!

Confronting head on is fine, but it hold be done judiciously and professionally. Not in front of an audience, maybe not even backstage with lots of crew around. If the story is true, Rosie's timing just sucked and her actions smack of "loose cannon" and something that her detractors will latch on to. I'm enjoying the shows and hate to see stuff like this come up just 3 weeks in.
-
Yes, so I take what I read there with a grain of salt...but they are often surprisingly accurate ! I'm leaning towords believing the part about Ro and Whoopi. (But maybe the audience members are lying or exaggerating? )I'm disappointed in Ro for doing that in front of an audience. Unprofessional and not cool.I'm don't believe the stuff about Whoopi wanting out of her contract. It may indeed be true, but i think the "sources" are just speculating and throwing it out there to have a story I'd like to believe that Whoopi was not careless enough to be talking about that and be overheard by "sources". Ooooohhhhhh, ByaNose, what exactly was your family member's version of w hat went down?
-
Radar online also just ran this story about Rosie o and Whoopi. Very disappointing. The fact that Rosie would do this In front of an audience is not good and unprofessional. I am liking the chemistry on the show and enjoying it. Not happy that rosie O. would initiate this and go off like this. Whoopi is moderator and has producers in her ear directing the flow and timing of the show. If they tell her to go to commercial, so be it...why is Rosie taking it out on her? I hate to see her giving fodder to Fox News and others who will jump on this story and run with it.

I just watched the episode with Paula Dean and sons. WOW. She was a hot mess. Overly animated, a little disconnected and not enjoyable to watch. Not sure if she was too nervous order meds were off, but she was a little too much. I do think she and the boys had it all planned to discuss his jalapeño hands and bathroom incident , so his embarrassment was totally a put on. I watched Paula Dean shows in the early days and enjoyed them, but she became a little full of herself and I also tired of her "sexual innuendo" shtick to get laughs. Her accent on the show today was much stronger than her early shows...how does that happen? I also read the transcripts of depositions during the court case and was surprised at the extent of improprieties by her, her brother and staff. It made her less likeable in my eyes, I find her not very genuine. And a diabetic making fried, cheese stuffed jalapeños, without providing nutritional info or educating on what a reasonable portion size would be, is a wierd recipie choice.
-
I did really like her as an interviewer and think that is a major strength for her. That being said, if she came to my town, i would probably not buy a ticket to see her do stand up. I found her funny and quick on the show, but she did get a bit corny and spout off "older" one-liner humor.

DangerousMinds, Joy used to have a shows on a couple differnt channels but no more. she mentioned on Meredith's show that she has been working on, and testing new jokes for, a live one- woman show she'll be doing. She didn't go into detail if the show is a done deal (I'd guess she'd mention where it would be for those interested I. Buying tickets) or if it would be just in NYC or if she'd tour with it.
-
I taped Meredith's show when I noticed joy was going to a guest. Great seeing them both together and they had a friendly, genuine interaction. I was very surprised though that almost all of Joy's anecdotes I had heard before (I guess either on The View, Joy's old shows on Cable networks, or when she was on talk shows). Perhaps she is saving new stories for her one- woman show, but rehashing the old stories was disappointing. It was kinda like hearing Barbara telling her same tidbits for the 50th time - my skinny friends use their forks and just push food around on their plates, Michael Douglas and I have the same birthday, I told my daughter she was born in my heart, etc).
-
Her publicity firm needs to revise that self-serving and self-agrandizing Twitter bio pronto. It is ridiculous and makes her look bad. Shame on her for allowing that crap to even be used.
-
She's just drawing from her real life. Am guessing that the Tinker Bell video and Frozen are favorites of her youngest daughter, so she watches them a lot! And are they both Disney products?

Maybe Woopie's more engaged demeanor and attitude this season is because: 1) she's happier in her job with the new coworkers and show vision, and/or 2) any meds she may have been on which affected demeanor were changed or adjusted over summer hiatus, and/ or 3) she's not smoking grass for her glaucoma on her way to work anymore, just while she is being driven home. For whatever reason, I like being more "present" on the show and in the conversations.
