Oh man, taped today's show and just watched it and they DID talk about kardashians, honey boo boo and stuff, but since it was under the umbrella of Kathy Griffin it's OK with me.

1. Ok, I'll vote for a tall table being back during the first two weeks in October! People just seem more comfy when they don't have to watch how they are sitting and have a place to rest their arms. Maybe TPTB were trying to make the new show look different from the old version so went with a different table. 2. I am SO appreciating that hot topics and conversation have not dealt or dwelled on Kardashians, reality show people (well...they did talk Palin), etc. and I hope it continues. At this point in the season, Sherrie and Jenny would have spent 30 percent of their time on that crap! Also appreciate guest segments not being rushed, and guests given the opportunity to talk!

I don't tweet so not sure how it works. Once they receive the tweet can they suppress it from being seen if they don't want to answer you? Or does it appear so that everyone reading that person's Twitter knows it's been asked? (Tho' I can't imagine anyone would want to ignore RogerFromOhio)

On Rosie o's website, one of the tabs is for recaps of The View. I checked it out and it contains short summaries of the shows. Lovely overview of billy and Whoopi's Robin tribute. The first weeks worth of summaries hits the highlights and recapped funny quotes, etc. I wonder why this is on her personal website. So she can make sure her own spin on what happened on the show is out there in case something controversial happens? Having these recaps out there might not be a good thing...I could see some media or guest taking what is written there if a volatile issue comes up and using it against her...

Great tweet! Can you tweet sherrie also to ask if she's invited elizabeth or ask if Grace Hasselbeck has been there?

When they selected Sherrie, producers were really hoping for a big turnout from Her fan base,, her followers from The View, her Mocha Moms, Jeffrey's school friends and parents, nd other groups would storm the theater to see her. They've got a lot of seats to fill for 8 shows every week. Sounds like they didn't get the bump in ticket sales that they expected. Do other "featured" performers in the show, or any Broadway show, pitch their followers on Twitter or facebook to buy tickets? p.S. Whoopi and Rosie will see the show before she leaves.sends a bad message if they don't. And of course Sherri will tweet photos

Good point, SunFun: if BC (and many other heavy hitters) genuinely like WG then that says a lot! Yes, she has idiosyncrasies, often unique points of view and wears unconventional clothes and shoes but she is a huge talent, unique and authentic. I value and respect those qualities after all the inauthentic crap we've seen from some former cohosts (not mentioning names, but 2 start with an "S" and one with an ”E")

Loved Friday's show. I have high hopes for the new season. The segment with Whoopi and Billy reminiscing about Robin was heartfelt and lovely. Whoopi mentioned taking a "know your vagina" class which brought back memories, because I volunteered at a Free Clinic as a filing clerk during college in the 70’s and they offered similar classes and I was always amazed at how many women signed up for them!

1. I know Whoopi has gotten a little riled up about some topics this week , but, honestly, I don't mind even when i don't agree with her, because she is being genuine about it and does try to explain her point. Totally different from the extreme annoyance I would feel when inarticulate Elizabeth would try to present a point. she was charming explaining how her great grandchild loved melon and how that mesh holder helps develop hand coordination. 2. I loved the movie Frozen (I'm a sucker for most Disney films) and would love to see Miyam and Rosie discuss the movie..I'm sure she'll be invited as a guest. They both have good points, but I agree with rosie about the overall positive message in the film. The music was great and I liked the themes. Elsa sticks up for her sister and the relationship between her and sis takes precedent over the one between her and Kristof, so it's not the typical "girl gets boy" main message. Well played, Disney! And the song lyrics "conceal, don"t feel, don't let it show" ...well, this is the main tactic and coping mechanism for many people but ultimately damages relationships and can isolate you. So "letting it go" and being true to yourself is the way to go...nice message for kids! (Geez, I'm humming the snowman song as I write this....) 3. So we still have Friday's show to watch while all the cohosts have already started their 3 day weekend. I am enjoying the new season. Great job, ladies. Enjoy your time off and read up on current events so you are ready for next week!

I felt kind of bad for Whoopi because she wears an earpiece and gets advice/direction/comments from the staff in her ear while she is talking and trying to make a point. That would just drive me crazy! So in the middle of trying to make a point not only does she get a little louder and passionate but she has the distraction of people in her ear. Anyway, I like hearing the different views and the justifications. P.S. We don't know all the background story of that 4-year old, but I understand what the dad was trying to do but don't condone shameing. I would bet that the school and community did not offer much support or help, and hope the attention has made a kind hearted local therapist or other professional step forward to offer counseling and help for the family (the child and both parents). Despite what one of the cohosts said about the father should have looked into low cost or free counseling or therapists, they are often not abundant or easily found. If the dad had the means to access therapists (which I got the impression from the story he did not) and chose not to, then I am less sympathetic towords him. Also got the impression mom and dad aren't together and not doing a good job of co-parenting. Sad for the child.

Ok, have watched 4 shows so far and am enjoying the show and feel the intellect level has definitely been kicked up some. I hope some of the little hiccups(awkward throws to commercials, stumbling guests around coffee table, etc.) get worked out within the next few weeks. My biggest complaint so far is Nicole saying she loved that Canadian politician and thought he was awesome without really explaining why. Regardless of his politican acumen and abilities, a public figure who is a bumbling, drug addicted, alcoholic spectacle should not be commended or held up as a role model. I don't mind Whoopi getting a little vehement about expressing her thoughts as she did with the child and sign discussion. I like that each of the cohosts all seem to be genuine in their comments and beliefs. Elizabeth used to try to present a view but then defended it with getting strident and a string of word salad that you couldn't follow. These ladies I can usually understand and sympathize with even if I do not agree with them.

Geez, was that review co-written by Geddie?! It complains that there were no "necessary sparks", no feuding and no controversy. I think that's a good thing! And the article insinuated Rosie was trying to get attention by getting melancholy about Joan rivers, but actually both Whoopi and Rosie got choked up talking about her and both were friends of hers. The author was looking for things to pick apart.

Ok, I like the set, looking at the colors and design makes me happy. Cohosts look more comfy sitting chairs than those old stools. The violence discussion was heavy but left you thinking and was informative - hurrah! Impressed with Nicole's comments on the violence discussion, also with what Rosie P. said (I didn't know Mandela was a boxer!) Appreciated Nicole's comments and perspective on Iowa and that discussion. There have been some comments about Rosie P.'s voice - geez, if it bothers that much don't watch the show. She has a strident nasal tone that she often uses when acting, but her voice was fine today. There was a shot of the set in between commercials that showed only Whoopie and Nicole sitting up there and both of them were looking straight ahead...wierd that they weren't chatting or interacting with each other. Nicole's "republican" input was light, anecdotal stuff, but I hope she will eventually provide a strong Republican voice so that good discussions and debates will be a part of future shows. Rosie Ps 3 palin questions were funny! ( "did the winking get on your nerves?" Hah!) Had never heard the song Chenowith sang...lovely and sweet tribute to Joan and cohosts were feeling it. Overall, learned some stuff, felt cohosts were being genuine, high hopes for the show as things settle in and evolve.

Chicago it's said: "No blue cards! No cross-talk! No tantrums, or Bachelorette, or 40somethings acting like teenyboppers. No selfies, or wall of photos, or gushing Twitter feed! That's what I liked." I haven't watched the show yet, but that brings a big smile to my face! (how does the quote feature work? I'm perplexed so resort to the old "cut and paste")

Thanks for posting that cooking clip with Rosie and Clinton. So funny, but they were both good natured and authentic. Clinton admitted to being jet lagged and made the segment entertaining. Nice to see Rosie speak up about how she made it and what she used in her own version...she will not be one to sit back and try to present a calculated, safe image (like Lizzie) to an audience.

Petty comment -> Barbara's years of wearing heavy earrings has made her ear lobes SO stretched out and long. Often noticed that on the show and it also shows in these photos. Jeffry has probably started school and sherri has been silent about her son, dogs, etc. That's a change from her history of tweeting frenzy in the past !

Nope, those kinda look like comfy $85 "Super Birki" Birkenstock clogs. And I thought the photo from the back with the tongue-in-cheek "The View's back" comment was cute! I will admit to an odd sense of humor though :-) Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

CattyTiger - oh my word, AGNES MOREHEAD! That brings back memories!

I loved this blurb from Rosie O. the "Oh Snap" link: "Insisting that she wants the show to be smarter, she makes a dig at Sherri Shepherd, a co-host that left The View this summer. "No one is going to think the Earth is flat," O'Donnell tells the trade publication, referring to a comment made by Shepherd. "When I was at home watching that, I thought I was going to have an aneurysm." God bless her for saying this! I felt the same way...what a waste of viewers time to listen to crap like that! ! Unfortunately, ABC exes didn't feel the same way and felt that outrageous comments like this from Sherrie and Elizabeth would "make sparks" and get people watching. They should have nipped that in the bud right then, by requiring cohosts to do some prep work, read the news, be more thoughtful in their comments, etc. Honestly, If Sherrie just got flustered, misspoke and blurted out that flat earth gaffe (everyone makes mistakes) then the next day she could just apologize and say "my bad" but we soon found out that these haphazard and often ignorant comments from Sherrie and Liz were the norm

Whoopi is known for preferring and wearing oversized outfits and "fun" shoes - it's her signature style. Joan would have expected nothing less. Sara Jessica Parker wore hot pink pumps with her black dress. So Whoopi was not the only only attendee wearing bright coloredshoes. Whoopi is known for wearing crazy, fun shoes...often they are pricy "art" shoes. I appreciate the fact that she, and most others, wore black or more somber colors for the funeral. Unless the dearly departed requests bright colors be worn, I wear mostly black to a funeral out of respect. I was surprised that Hoda K. showed up in a lighter blue and white striped outfit. Surely she had an outfit with black in it in her closet....

I do wish the panel was more age diverse. Wonder if they will eventually add a permanent 5 th cohost or just have guest cohosts come on the show.

Cinderella will be closing on Broadway, but the traveling/road show version will continue on and there might even be more than one traveling company for this play. It's scheduled to be here in Arizona in March 2015. No idea who the actors will be.

My impression is that her preferred place to live would be california. She has no weather and transportation issues, close to TV and movie opportunities, good schools for Jeffrey, close to family and many close friends that live there, etc. also, if she wanted jeffrey to develop a stronger relationship with his dad, half- brother and step mom then that is where they are ... Tho I'm not sure she is focused on that. She only moved to NYC because of her lucrative and steady job offer on The View. And she was fortunate to get the temp gig in the play now that she's no longer a co-host. There may be some advantage for her to be working out the divorce by claiming to be living on the east coast, but when that whole issue plays itself out then she will move herself and jeffrey back out to california. On a different topic, she has Uncharacteristically shown restraint recently in not posting about Jeffrey, dogs, etc. on her twitter account. Her managers or lawyers might have said to give it a rest or she is busy preparing for her role in the play and jeffrey is getting lots of quality time with his nanny. Wouldn't he be back in school,by now in New York so he needs to be have the daily structure of school, homework, etc. so sherrie spending lots of time and nights in the city and not flitting in and out of their New Jersey home may be a good thing for him.

Damn, forgot to record Meredith's show. On it for tomorrow!
