  1. The organization that Sal says he is affiliated with in LinkedIn doesn't seem to publicize much about what they do, but that doesn't mean they don't do good work. It just seems like it was started by. Steve J. that may run it out of his home and doesn't have many employees but may have lots of volunteers (I.e. Friends of his) that help provide programs like many Foundations do. A business website says about it : Since 2007, Los Angeles Academy Of Media & Technology Foundation has been providing Communication Services, Nec from Placentia. Los Angeles Academy Of Media & Technology Foundation has estimated annual revenues of $ 100,000.00 and also employs an estimated 2 employees. If Sal is volunteering there regularly, great. But it is odd that information of what programs they offer, etc. aren't more readily available. Sometimes "foundations" are just something that looks good on the founders resume and the activities could consist of something as minor as a "weekend" camp run by volunteers.
  2. Until divorce papers are signed, they both have some access to their financial accounts - lawyers will want them to account for expenditures to make sure funds aren't bring siphoned and are being used for reasonable expenses ( rent, food, etc)
  3. Roger, much speculation, of course. But tweets and news from earlier this year portrayed all was well. In Feb/Mar both Sherrie and Sal were excited about the trip to LA to pitch a joint project. I'm sure Sherrie was thrilled, knowing her cohost job would probably not be renewed, to have something that BOTH of them could work on and get paid for. There was a photo she took that showed her at Game Show network offices. Whatever it was did not pan out. Sherrie returned with Jeffrey to NJ, Sal stayed in Cali and all hell broke loose. Sal's income the year before marriage was reported as around $30,000 with $9,000 from unemployment. As a "writer" he could sell jokes and pitch scripts, etc. but he never talked about or showed much regular work at all and didn't appear to actively help with Jeffrey or emotionally or physically put much into the household or relationship. there were reports he kept seeing a former flame on trips, etc. i don't think Sherrie would have minded being the main breadwinner as long as Sal was pitching in (people thought he was maintaining her Facebook and webpage as her Manager, but if that was true he was really horrible at it....a skill he could have easily developed) and helping with things and behind closed doors they were good....but I would bet money that something happened in California during that trip that flipped a switch on the relationship.
  4. Jenny is not stupid and knows how to use the media. Sounds like she may be using her last few hours on national TV to 1) promote any other work she is doing (free national publicity) and 2) maybe put out there some causes or themes she might align herself with in the near future. I smell a book about "helping your special needs teen cope in normal school", "protecting special needs kids from bullying", etc. She also chose to speak publically thus sending a message to other parents of kids at camp, as well as camp administrators, that they might want to have a little talk with their kiddos about kindness and accepting others.....something they should do anyway! Jenny is probably checking in regularly with counselors about how her child is doing (something special need moms I know do...they tend to be more proactive with teachers, etc) and that's how she learned about how he is interacting with other kids and vice versa. Hope the counselors are quietly making "adjustments" to ensure all kids have a positive experience.
  5. I agree...Sherrie learned something in March that changed everything. Prior to that she had talked about wanting another child. That amped up when she married Sal and he made it clear that he wanted a SON. She posted lovey dovey photos on Facebook around valentines day...although I think by that time she had a great picture of the "bed she made": Sal was. Or very employable, which I think would be OK with her IF he was contributing actively around the house and with Jeffery, trying to be wise about helping her handle finances, plan for the future, manage her career, etc. he seemed to just be a major user, an arm piece and a self- centered jerk. If she found out he was seriously making plans to divorce once the baby was born, was diverting money from their accounts to fund his cheating lifestyle and trips to California "for business" I could see where she would feel slapped in the face and, having no biological or emotional connection to the baby which she now knows she was tricked into persuing under false pretenses would be a bit reluctant to give Sal big bucks to care for his son. What the courts see as what her legal responsibilities are in this case will be interesting.
  6. We don't have any pets, but I will interject that AlexMy13YearOldSonWhoMakesMeOneOfTheOlderMomsAtTheSchoolAndWho'dLoveAnyDogButACaneCorso would, hopefully, be quick to dial 911 if a burgler broke in.
  7. Tvaddict44, you have nicely summarized what makes Rosie, and others with those skills, such a pleasure to watch on TV and how that genuineness and sincerity come across on TV. Someone who is engaged with the people they are interviewing, can be spontaneous and go off the blue cards to create an interesting discussion, and is a basically a nice person is respected by people WHO MATTER (that omits the lies of Trump, Palin, O'Reilly, etc) in the public eye and makes for good TV. To varying degrees, Whoopie, Meredith, Joy and Lisa have those skills. Here's hoping that whoever is selected to cohost next season is engaging, informed and willing to participate In engaging discussions and not screeching matches.
  8. MButterfly, my posting may have been too broad by speculating sherries future gigs could be at Christian events. It's just that in the past year or two she has hosted a gospel music award show, appeared at gospel music events as a speaker or comedian, has appeared with her comedian friend Jawn (sp?) who bills himself as a Gospel comedian...I may be wrong but it just seemed like she was doing or talking more about appearing at faith- based events. Many of her tweets during that same time frame also seemed to be more religious in nature. Just seemed like she was leaning more towords faith based events.
  9. Just checked Sherries twitter and she recently complimented two women from The Talk (because their ratings were better than The View recently?) and then compliments The Kitchen a chat/cooking show similar to The Chew ( but I like The Chew better!) - neither of these shows is on ABC. Is she passive-aggressively making positive, public comments about Non ABC shows cause she's pissed at ABC? I'm sure she explored with ABC if there was any work for her on upcoming sit-coms, drama shows, game shows...anything, really, and maybe they gave her a strong but polite "No, sorry, but we'll be in touch if something comes up" I'm guessing her main source of income in the future will come from ( hopefully) smart investments, stand up comedy gigs (which unfortunately will mean more evenings away from Jeffrey), emceeing/ talking at Christian events, infrequent tv or movie gigs, and wigs if that line is still successful. Nothing much with ABC or Disney.
  10. Springtime, maybe the date discrepancy is because Aug 7 is Sherrie's last work day ( that's the date she mentioned) but she'll still be seen on the Friday show, Aug 8, which is the other date mentioned, because don't theyaren't actually in studio on Fridays - that show is done earlier I. The week when they do 2 shows on one day.
  11. Ah, Former Nun...you demonstrate great restraint! I don't know what your dogs name is but, if it was Rover for example, weren't you just itching to post about "Rovermybriard" a la "Leximycanecorso"? LOL
  12. My 88 year old Mom had shingles last year. I was not really familiar with it. She had some red blotchy small rash areas around her back and tummy area and then a couple days later developed an excruciating pain that I guessed must have been sciatic nerve or something because she said it was radiating along her back, then down her leg, then her shoulder and I was about to take her to ER if I couldn't get in to see her Dr. the Dr. ( incredibly) had an opening that very morning and immediately diagnosed it as shingles and prescribed a drug that mitigated the pain and she was comfortable by that evening. The doctor said her case was not a severe case! Based on what I saw with her experience, I will be getting the vaccine when I am covered by Medicare as it is recommended for seniors. My understanding is the vaccine, which is pricey, is now covered by Medicare Part D (and the supplemental coverage that most people get). It is certainly worth checking with your insurance and seeing if it is covered and getting it if it is.
  13. I'm not gonna watch the show till the new season starts up in September, but love reading up on what's going on here. Sounds like they got a stern talking to when Sherri let slip that they didn't have time to do research/homework so now, in defense, they need to refer to all the research they are doing on a daily basis LOL. I just hope this mandate doesn't carry over into the new season with cohosts required to put graphs and charts up on that back wall to defend and support their decisions!! Actually, that annoying background photo wall will probably be gone in September and a more likeable theme song will have been adopted.
  14. The New York Post ran a short article this morning that said (or speculated) Ann Curry is on the short list to be co-host, even though her contract with NBC isn't up. I totally forgot about her since NBC "demoted" her. I like her...she'd give the panel some gravitas and news cred. The article went on to say: "Other candidates include Mario Cantone, Bernadette Peters, Leah Remini, S.E. Cupp and Meghan McCain, who will be a guest Monday." What a group! No mention of Brooke shields or any Latina.
  15. Interesting the article says Barbara is still calling the shots. I thought she was more of a figurehead and it looked like she was under lots of pressure from ABC execs...and would she really oust her joined at the hip professional partner, Bill G.? He is probably getting a financially incredible goodbye package plus articles have commented that he'll have special projects with ABC to work on. Going into an election year, while they are not a news show, it would be great to have some intelligent, likeable, informed women on the panel to discuss issues.
  16. Rosie was being HONEST in expressing she is uncomfortable around little people. I appreciate the honesty and would rather have that than a smiling, simpering person who is not genuine. That being said, blatant honesty often gets people in trouble on TV!
  17. Never heard of this S E Cupp person. But I enjoy a balanced, informed and spirited discussion. I would welcome any cohost who does not have a skreechy (sp?) voice, does her research and homework, is informed and has a professional demeanor. At this point I really think someone with a legal or news background would be a great addition. Fingers crossed.
  18. I'll bet Donald is beating himself up because Elizabeth used The View cohost news to get publicity and generate controversy before him. He was a day late on talking about The View so his ability to generate publicity for himself by making preposterous comments and self agrandizing statements is getting rusty! Guess he's getting old and slowing down a bit. I wonder if The View can avoid making any comments or having guests that have anything to do with any future Apprentice show that Donald might do? Fingers crossed they can - would love that...of course he'd speak up to get publicity making a big deal about the show NOT doing apprentice related stuff. P.S. His most humorous comment was saying Elizabeth "mentally beat up" Rosie....wow!
  19. Watched about 30 minutes of the again show today (2 shows in one week!) and Sherri looked nice in that long hair weave. My cynical self says she got an expensive weave from the show's hair people while she was still an employee and could command that perk. After she leaves the show she'll go back to popping on her various wigs! And YES a Barbara Walters special regarding surrogacy and the complications that can ensue, with a special interview with Sherri, would be awesome but I hope good sense prevails and that is not on the horizon LOL
  20. Was home and watched the about the first 15 minutes of todays show. I think Whoopie's comments at the top of the show were directly pointed at Hasselbeck. News articles in the past day have the comments she made about Rosie coming back - how the news ruined her vacation (how dramatic, she easy gets upset doesn,t she, fragile flower!), Rosie is unpatriotic (bullcrap), Whoopie may not get along with Rosie (ding, ding, ding - why is she even commenting about that), blah, blah, blah. An assortment of stupid, petty comments that I think make Elizabeth look petty and classless. Maybe it' sheri way of subtly speaking out on behalf of Bill who'll be leaving the show? Anyway, I think Whoopie read Elizabeth's comments about her and her position on the show and how she'll mesh with new cohosts and today's comments were her way of saying "Bitsie, just STFU, I certainly don't need you to talk about me and make stupid comments". Anyway, for what it's worth that is my take after reading a couple articles about what Liz said. As usual, exaggeration, word salad and just dumb comments. And I am so impressed with the classy ways that boy Joy and Whoopie responded to her rant and called her out on it.
  21. I think Whoopie's comments were directed to the classless, ignorant comments made by Elizabeth Hasselbeck about Rosie joining the show. Elizabeth should just pull up her big girl pants, stop rehashing old news for the sake of getting herself publicity and just cool it.
  22. Big article today in the New York Daily News. Check it out. Talks about how if Rosie is in at The View, then Bill Geddie is out. Also says Barbara is helping get a new team of cohosts together. Bill Geddie is moving on to do special projects for ABC. aBC would let rosie bring in her own behind the scenes team, ABC wandt to "freshen up" the show and make big changes, etc. Interesting piece. Boy, lots of pressure on Rosie ( who will of course get all the blame if things don't go well) and I hope emotionally and physically she copes week with things.
  23. (Blech...I don't want to talk about elizabeth or even hear about her. She is using this time to "make sparks" and publicity for herself and her new network by making snide negative comments about Rosie and the show. Get over it Lizzie and be gracious and quiet! And stop with the ridiculous comments about how rosie is not patriotic and doesn't support the troops. That's pure crap.) Cindy Adams' column in the New York Post has a couple paragraph's about the show and isn't very complimentary of The View or how ABC is handling things. She says Bill Geddie will be gone and Whoppie's contract for the next year has her being moderator. Given that Cindy is Barbara's very close friend I doubt what she writes is wrong and her sour grapes about ABC may reflect how Babs thinks she and Bill are being I'll treated.
  24. Something came to a head ( no pun intended) during that Spring trip to LA - the one where she tweeted about Jeffrey being barred from 1st class bathroom. Both had tweeted there excitement t about a possible joint venture they were pitching to an employer. Sherrie posted a picture from the Game Show network offices. Whatever the job was, they didn't get any offers, maybe last straw for Sherrie in long list of Sal ideas for work didn't pan out...another instance of Sal not pulling his weight, she finally realizes she will be his meal ticket for life because he can't get good work. They both know her contract is up for renewal with the show and she'd probably be out of a job. If he seriously pitched in around the house and was actively involved with Jeffery (besides playing xbox together) that would have been a huge help to her, but I never got the sense that he did that. Sal probably hooked up with someone, Sherrie found out about it, last straw! The surrogate was around 4-5 months along at that time. Maybe they had a fight and Sal pushed Sherrie's buttons to the brink or revealed stuff and threatened to go to media and embarrass sherrie. Who knows?! He stayed in california for a while after Sherrie and Jeffrey returned to NJ. Something big happened when they were in california!
  25. Susieq147, I think you hit the nail on the head. the show has lost respect from the industry and was having trouble booking big name guests and it's shift to a more fluff/ entertainment show (with silly skits, etc.) was not a good move. Yea, whoppie could be counted on to get one of her a list buddies to stop by now and then and venerable barbara, even in her decline, could attract some A listers, but not enough. Rosie and whoppie will help, attract bigger guests, get Broadway play segments ( no more What's Poppin") and musical numbers and, when one of them wants time off, the other will be there to keep things running. All is needed is 2 or 3 more intelligent, likeable well spoken cohosts that can talk intelligently about issues without resorting to partisan babble. Fingers crossed.
