  1. Thanks to Philip Michaels for a season's worth of recapping insights and valor!
  2. I deleted the episode without watching once I saw that Kanye was the guest, but I am curious exactly who Ellen thinks her demographic is. If I'm going by her audience members, viewers are strongly skewed towards white females aged 30-60. I'm one and I certainly have no interest in Kanye (or any rappers, if I'm being honest).
  3. Right? First time they've ever shown a specific snack brand and then ... oh, a pretzel commercial. Don't be product placement-ing my show!
  4. Well. There were a lot of cameos by other comics and sitcom stars. Is that something?
  5. Wouldn't be a RP episode without a patient coughing. It's deadly, y'all!
  6. Stephen's picture book See Ralph Run was funny but made me very nervous. It has happened before! This bothered me when it was on Black-ish, but that wordless gesture of recognition is not a nod. It's a chin jut. Otherwise, I thought Anthony Edwards and Stephen played off each other well during the interview.
  7. Wow, what a sniveling little shitstain Alison is. Non-conformist my ass. Ru, in order for a contestant to disrespect the show, it has to be something worth respecting. Which, no. It's a low budget reality show on a bottom feeder cable network, so no need to damage your vocal cords.
  8. Although I got a laugh out of Cleen's "fuck my life" comment, the returning contestants were also beat out by Anthony and Christian. Aside from personality, they have no reason to resent Cleen any more than the other two. Although Sausage will probably refuse to choose because everyone ganged up on him, wah wah.
  9. How are these different shows? Kevin Can Wait A newly retired police officer looking forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids discovers he faces much tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets. Man With a Plan A contractor whose wife goes back to work starts spending more time with his kids and discovers the truth every parent eventually realizes: His little angels are maniacs.
  10. The thread for Shows You Never Watched But Hate Anyway might off some insight. ;) There are a few shows -- primarily candid reality -- that I think are harmful and/or offensive that I'd like to see cancelled even though I don't watch* them. There are programs whose producers/hosts/stars I dislike so much that, out of pure spite, I'd get secondhand enjoyment out of them being cancelled. The new show based on Dr. Phil is an abomination to me and I wouldn't mind shooting it out of the sky with laser cannons. I'd love to see the entire Fox News network die a horrible death. Etc. I think wishing a show away is primarily a way of venting, which has its place. * My opinions about them, right or wrong, are derived from entertainment news and reading discussion boards.
  11. When you think about it, Robert must have a shit ton of stockpiled anger and resentment towards Frankie.* Here he was in a decades-long relationship with someone he was deeply in love with, and that person continued not only to have sex with, but also maintained a loving emotional connection with someone else. Sol was cheating on both Robert and Frankie. * Directed at Frankie because the person who's cheated on always blames the third party in the triangle.
  12. I like the embossed green tile walls in the sanitorium/hospital hallways. So that's something.
  13. The tattoos weren't stellar but I can't believe how much I'm enjoying this season, especially after a sour start with the whole premise of returning veterans. I've actually been watching the entire show (minus the stew room trash talk) instead of fast-forwarding, which I probably haven't done since season one. So happy for Anthony!! Christian as well, but mostly as another screw you to the veterans. Is five years of experience really so little? It's not 20 years but the judges make it seem like artists aren't even expected to be good after that amount of time.
  14. "Looks like he was murdered. To death. Bom bom." I enjoyed the focus on Pat and Eileen apart from the kids. Also the genetic similarities between Pat and Jimmy. including both considering putting frozen chicken in their unders. It was realistic that Gloria would skitter away from Pat after their disaster of a date. Eileen's interactions with Vice Principal Murray were not true to life, but he's a bit of a squirrel and their scenes made me laugh so all is forgiven. He and Jodi are both great secondary characters. I can't believe this little show has become one of my favorite 22 minutes of the week.
  15. Oh, balls. I'm drawn to the premise of Designated Survivor but just can't with Sutherland so will have to give it a nay vote. Elfman is also a hard stop for me, forever.
  16. What bullshit. It's The Daily Show's responsibility to be the liberal vanguard of TV now? I'm not sure Jon would have had any more to say about Trump if he was still at the helm. There is nothing more to say and neither Trevor nor anyone else is going to change the minds of Trump's supporters. It's all one big echo chamber of people who disagree with Trump pointing out his lies and deficiencies and the millions who like him not caring. Let me assure Salon that those people do not watch TDS and never did. If the writers at Salon are desperately longing for someone to smite Trump and this election cycle in general, they can do it themselves. Remember journalism? Opinion pieces?
  17. Sometimes manual scooping works, too, since a dead hand or foot is already sticking up out of the ground.
  18. Yowza, Seattle didn't finish paying for the Kingdome until 15 years after it was demolished? Fuck off, municipal stadiums paid for by tax dollars.
  19. I think they were referring to You Laugh But It's True.
  20. I'm trying to think of anything Hillary or Bernie could say that would get me not to vote for them in the general election ... nope. So it works both ways for this liberal.
  21. The Orpheum Theatre seats 1,976 (thank you, Internet) and my guess is that it was the largest venue most of the queens had played to thus far. I hope they weren't too nervous to appreciate all the applause and audience fervor. I enjoyed it myself even though I thought there were a few too many shots of the crowd. I wouldn't have minded a red carpet pre-show; I spent some time today looking at photo galleries in order to get a better look at the details of the costumes. It was especially nice to see Derrick's partners there looking so thrilled and proud. All the family members were, but Derrick had such crises of confidence throughout the season (and I thought got the least help from the judges due to their conflicting comments) that I was happy to see such heartfelt support for him.
  22. That was a pretty funny ep after the initial unpleasantness of Sindbad being a bad sport about the buzzer. If I were Chris, I wouldn't have eliminated him, either. Gradient skin tone scale, heh.
  23. Trixie has all the latest music! It seemed like Barbara had at least heard the song before since she choose it, but I'm for sure not interested in watching her sexual awakening if that was the point. Lyrics to Teach Me Tiger by April Stevens Teach me tiger how to kiss you.. Wah wah wah wah wah Show me tiger how to kiss you.. Wah wah wah wah wah Take my lips, they belong to you But teach me first, teach me what to do Touch me tiger when Im close to you wah wah wah wah wah Help me tiger I don't know what to do wah wah wah wah wah I know that you could love me to But show me first, show me what to do This is the first love, that I have ever known What must I do to make you my very own? Teach me tiger how to tease you wah wah wah wah wah Tiger, tiger I wanna squeeze you wah wah wah wah wah All of my love I will give to you But teach me tiger. Or I'll teach you
  24. I do not believe the Great British Baking Show is the best thing ever! I think it's foot-dragging, boring, and lacks tension. I am weary of every other competitive cooking show being compared unfavorably to it.
  25. What did I miss? Didn't Peter take Connor's final offer for a year's probation? If so, there was no reason for Grace to defer college.
