  1. I think Mikey Day was born to play Jim Jordan. Did folks on the east coast get the Shasta cola joke? I loved Bad Bunny with the Shrek ears.
  2. I hate when they struggle with the heat, but just last week (ironically for Bread Week), it was so cold that Paul and Prue were in their overcoats, mufflers, and hats in the little sequester tent.
  3. Prue looked like she was wearing her Halloween costume. Usually, I admire her bold style but this was just bad.
  4. Loved Allison rolling over the workstation to get to the baker in need. Was there any cheese in the cheesecakes? Looked like oat-butter base, carmelized white chocolate, black current jam, and something plopped on top. I like cheese in my cheesecake. Since there seemed to be such wide variance in the types of "cake" presented in the show stopper (Nicky did mousse!), I would have gone with my flourless avocado brownies. They can stop with all the sniggling over the word "nuts" right now.
  5. Become a boss. Nobody pulls that crap on me.
  6. This show is set in Canada, not the US. It's frightening that both countries used similar methods to control their indigenous populations.
  7. Were we the only ones sad that Sean won't be able to try to break Denise's record of going to all the tribal councils? Sifu has the best shirts of anyone who has ever played Survivor! No rumpled stained T shirts for him. One is red with long toggle fasteners and the other dark blue with violet tigers. I'd love to know what they're made out of. I'm totally with Julie on her assessment of their chances in challenges without him. "We'd still be in the water trying to drag that cage to shore!"
  8. I don't think they've ever shot the show in Genoa before, so no, not that castle. The Med is filled with castles and forts - pretty sure they went to one in Croatia the season they shot there. I'll take the unfortunate stand of actually appreciating Sandy's approach to the drama: she wants Tumi to take charge of her team, rather than being the heavy who drops the hammer herself. And, as a boss, I've had an employee who refused to speak to me, and there is nothing that says "I don't respect you" louder.
  9. Didn't the last season end with a bunch of cliff hangers? Kasia and babydaddy/husband were in a farmhouse with the Nazi's closing in. Tom's ship was sinking. etc etc Couldn't they bother with resolution to those?
  10. The fishing net for sure! I'd die. Wonder if they lecture them before the challenges: "Remember, no screaming!"
  11. Watched the first episode of Little Bird last night - it's based on Canada's 60's scoop of Indian children from the Reserve into adoption by white families. Executive producer is Jennifer Podemski who played Willi Jack's mother on Rez Dogs. IMDB thinks it was broadcast in May/June, but I never saw it on our PBS stations. They followed the first episode with a "making of" episode that was very interesting as well.
  12. Like the scene in Jaws where Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss compare injuries.
  13. What a bunch of weirdos! Especially the bartender. Everyone had a beef with someone else. And, it must be said, there were twelve of them, not eleven.
  14. i was hoping this was the last episode - but there are 3 more. I'm just going to wait until the last one and find out who won. This is extraordinarily dull.
  15. They actually made wagon wheels in the technical in a past season - I'd never heard of them. I agree about digestives sounding unappetizing. Sounds like they should have psyllium husk or similar ingredients. Keith just had an awful day.
  16. I think Harjo did show sad aspects of reservation life, but he just presented them as status quo, not as grim statistics. If you consider that of our four main Rez Dogs, only 1 lives in a home with both parents, that's a pretty sad aspect of reservation life. Elora was raised by her grandmother, and did we ever learn what happened to Cheese's parents? He's living with an old lady he met at the Indian Health Center. What Harjo wanted to show was how much the community was there to support everyone. Not to show how hard they all had it. I think a lot of the aunties at the funeral supper were relatives of his.
  17. Good news! Is she two in the front or two in the rear? Best wishes for a complete recovery.
  18. Bruce did manage to make fire really fast. But his antics in the boat were baffling. If the episodes are going to be this long, throw in some reward challenges!
  19. My son came for a visit and bought a bottle of Kewpie sriracha mayo. Me and my daughter are now hooked on it and it has become a staple.
  20. My mom had the radio on to KCBS all of my childhood. The traffic reporters used to refer to it as the Nifty Nimitz. And we all know, it's really 17! As strange as English is, isn't grammar just what we all decided was correct?
  21. But, way up here in Northern California, we would say "Take I5" - we would never use "the" unless referring to the name of the roadway in question ("Take the Nimitz"). So, "Take the I5" is just wrong.
  22. I was kinda hoping for a good ole throw everything off the boat into the water and head out to your home beach. Haven't had one of those in a while. Then again, I thought the one tribe was Hulu.
  23. Watching the scene the first time, I thought Ben was talking to a plate of cookies. It wasn't a big stretch. They'd shown the scene at the rehearsal where he flipped out over cookies. Joy's parents and childhood dog still being alive just means that they are incredibly old. Especially the dog!
  24. What a great name for a greyhound! My son and DIL have a rescue greyhound who developed a leg tumor. He's a little younger than yours but not much. They tried to treat the tumor medically which did nothing. Finally, they had the leg amputated. He recovered quickly and gets around very well on 3 legs. That was more than a year ago. It's not guaranteed, but she might get better.
  25. Tumi and Kyle are both from South Africa and are coming from there. As were Storm and Mzi who had immigration problems last season. It's up to a crew member to have their own paperwork. Because of the size of the vessel, this is the first time we've seen anyone checking. I don't see how the production company would have hired someone with forged papers, unless (dun dun dun dah) it's all made up drama! That's one big boat! Twice as big as the one she had last season.
