  1. I wonder if she realizes the longer she waits before attempting to get back custody, the less likely it's going to happen. Moving him will be a bigger shakeup the longer he is with Barb (how far is her new dirt farm from Barb?).
  2. To be fair, I believe the statistic is that approximately 2/3 of women with PCOS are overweight or obese. In America, 2/3 of all women are overweight or obese. This is just off the top of my head though, so the numbers could be off. Regardless, not using birth control is stupid even if you have PCOS, because fertility isn't an impossibility. Taylor not choosing to use condoms despite knowing that Maci is not using birth control is stupid. Both of them are stupid to think, we are having sex with some frequency, or even once in a while, and are not using birth control, and now we are pregnant. Again. If either of them did not want another child, or were not ready for another child yet, then they should have used birth control like normal people who do not want children.
  3. I wouldn't put my mom in either, and she's older than Michelle. She wore a similar styled dress to my sister's wedding as Michelle did to whichever daughter she wore that gray dress (was it both?). But of course, her's was appropriately tailored, had no ugly jacket, showed appropriate cleavage with a v-neck, and fit appropriately at the waist and hips, and sat just around the knee. She also had a hair style that's not straight out of the 80s. And well done make up. But it had those v-panel things down the side, just not the frills (I'm only speaking from memory here). My sister and I would never let my mom dress like Michelle.
  4. "Then shortly after our first year, someone gave us a TV and we connected it to cable television. We instantly noticed our communication dropped off, and that our attention turned from each other, to being glued to the TV. After 3 weeks of constant TV watching, we both agreed that this was not healthy for our relationship, so we got rid of the television in order to concentrate more on each other. Looking back, that is one of the best things we have done for our marriage and family." Take note, everyone, your life would be better with less TV in your life. You know, the thing that gives Jim Bob his platform to preach about his backwards family and keeps them all in multiple homes and a fleet of cars. But it's evil, don't 'cha know.
  5. It's a mix of they tried and failed (she's an adult, if she doesn't want to change then she is not going to, no matter what kind of help they get her, just look at her reaction after the "funeral") and they are enablers (especially Buddy -- her dad is more passive and just doesn't seem to speak up but tries, and her mom is worse than her dad, but Buddy is just wrapped around her finger and will do whatever she wants).
  6. I found out about the show through Reddit, and only started looking it up on PTV because I wanted a place to comment.
  7. Well all of us thinking the comedian wasn't funny may have thought otherwise had the editing not moved around punch lines and similar (based on one of her answers).
  8. Yeah, something about this new picture has him looking distinctly less hot than before.
  9. I didn't think he comedian was funny either, and I wish she was because it would be easier to be on her side. She got a little more personal than necessary, but it doesn't mean what she said wasn't true. But they definitely set it up to have her there. I want to know what Will thinks of the cake tasting scene. Then the party. Also, I completely agree that TLC has changed their tune and is showing Whitney in a more unflattering light. Whether this is because the line producers (the "writers" of a reality show) have chosen that story line, or production in general is sick of her, or if higher ups have learned that being more real gets more ratings, I don't know. But man I wish that would happen with the Duggars.
  10. It's so shocking how much we eat and are used to eating, myself included. I think looking at the sizing of clothing is also alarming. We have drastically increased how big a size is (http://time.com/3532014/women-clothing-sizes-history/), what we now call an 8 is what used to be a 14 or 16. Yes, the 2/4/6/8/etc. type sizing also varies by store or style or designer, but that doesn't change the fact that the average idea of a size has increased. Here are some vintage plus size ads: https://thesocietypages.org/socimages/2009/01/30/vintage-ad-for-chubby-fashions/ . And yet I see memes about how "back then" women in advertising were "real" and "curvy." While it's partially true, models had more hips and curves, they were still thin (http://themarilynmonroecollection.com/marilyn-monroe-true-size/). So we've let our portion sizes get bigger, but we have also distorted idea of what is fat/overweight and thin/normal weight. I am personally about 10-15 pounds overweight (and can fit into sizes 8-10, even have a stretchier Calvin Klein size 6 dress) and get all the "oh no you're not you look great" or "you carry it well" type of comments, which are nice but I'd like to default to the medical community regarding what weight range I should be in.
  11. Tort aspects of defamation will depend on the state and corresponding state law. Not a South Dakota lawyer so no idea how it works there, but in general, defamation under libel has presumed damages (slander, you need to prove damages unless it's slander per se). If you're suing for the tort of defamation, and it is a matter of public concern (anything that is newsworthy, which you can argue here, but my personal opinion is that it's sad that this would be newsworthy), First Amendment applies and, if you are a public figure, you must also prove the falsity of the statement and prove fault of the speaker (speaker knew it was inaccurate and they said it anyways, or were reckless in saying it, or, for a private figure, you must show that the speaker acted negligently in stating it (that they failed to reasonably investigate the truth of the claim).
  12. Hey, that container was only for ice cubes. (I regularly use that size for a serving of trail mix, or some yogurt or fruit or olives or...)
  13. I think "bullied" has often come to mean "made fun of by someone a few times." Bullying is more systematic, continuous, and done by groups. Everyone is made fun of sometimes, even the popular kids. But it's once in a while, and it blows over when the next kid farts in front of the class. Every celebrity now talks about being bullied because it's such a hot topic with social media making it easier, but their exaggerations or lying about it does nobody any good. It just diminishes the actual problem (especially when they turn around and do the same thing themselves on social media, or don't say something when their fans do it, ahem).
  14. Portion control is really hard to eyeball, especially after a lifetime of over eating. I think it's a mix of personal thinking, but also what they're marketed as. Cans of soda used to be 8 oz, which is considered a serving of soda. Then they went up to 12 oz, but the nutrition facts were still based on 8 oz. This is corrected now, and many nutrition labels include both a 'serving size' and a 'whole bag' facts. Whenever I buy a non-individually portioned type of snack food, something I know I'll eat subconsciously like a box of crackers or a bag of chips, I will always calculate the total calories/carbs in the box, and think, if I accidentally eat this in one go, how bad is that going to be? Or, "this bag will roughly last me four meals/snacks, how many calories in 25% of this." Eating out especially is so hard with portions. When I get really hard on myself on calorie counting (as in, weighing everything I eat and logging it), I am still surprised at how quickly calories add up. It's not easy.
  15. Firstly, just started watching the show (I've seen season 1, and a few episodes of season 2, and just watching 3 now), so new here for this show. I feel bad for Whitney for a few reasons. I'll preface this with saying that I don't like when I see people being made fun of just because they're fat, I don't want to see someone discriminated against for any reason. Everyone deserves respect, no matter what. But the more extreme aspects of the HAES movement are not good and create this dichotomy of being anti-diet in the name of body acceptance, and it creates situations where people feel that they don't need to change. Or shaming those people who personally choose to try and lose weight, and tell them that they cannot love their body and want to lose weight. And I think Whitney has fallen into this. It's hard not to in her position, going back to the first viral video and then this show. But she could turn it around: use the opportunities from having this show to actually diet and lose weight, and really show the importance of eating the right foods and the right amounts, plus doing activities she finds fun and how that counts as exercise, and you don't need a gym/trainer/fancy equipment (for example, her dance class: "I do dance because it's fun, it just happens to also keep me active and I love that.") And this season seems to really be showing how much her life is affected by her weight, and the producers have taken away the "reality show filter" where the main character is shown in a good light. The earlier episodes I've seen seem to coddle her, and now they aren't. She passes out, her friends have a funeral intervention, she goes to a cardiologist (but her heart isn't enlarged so lets get a pizza!), the commentary during the bagel run. Todd saying that she "did this to herself" regarding the back going out. They're only showing what has happened in her real life, but seeing it shown on national tv can't be easy and hopefully it's a wake up call.
  16. Either they chose to post terrible photos, or Izzy is just a bit of an unfortunate looking baby. But maybe it's just Jill's inability to tell what a good picture looks like, as the screenshot of Spurgeon she chose was pretty awful (and he's generally adorable).
  17. Addy obviously wanted to eat a bushel of fresh, organic, home grown green vegetables, but she had to eat at the table.
  18. When I look at Jeremy I think, yes, that's the guy who should start a fashion or clothing company.
  19. I got dressed today, fed myself, and didn't burn down the house. #success
  20. Tell me about it -- dating for time, engaged, both talking about kids, and a guy who can choose to use birth control (condoms) if he wanted, she sure did trap him. Lol.
  21. Of all the second babies, I think they're in the best situation. Two adults that are both working, they have a house and have been there for some amount of time, they have been together for a decent amount of time, and they were already engaged and planning on a wedding. If it was me, I would have waited to get off my birth control till after the honeymoon, but assuming they talked about it and wanted this, then great for them. They will be great parents, so congratulations.
  22. The worst part is that it's just so forced on Sofia. I'm sure she enjoys modeling, but I doubt she would have asked to do it without her mom being into it, and she doesn't have a future in it (at least not based on her looks now -- which feels so awful to say about a kid but it's the truth for the time being). And that photo just isn't even good. It's not modeling just because a person takes your photo.
  23. Someone needs to reupload those clips under a title like "The Best of Jenelle" then tweet them at her, praising her for what a wonderful and kind person she is and how she's such a great and attentive mom. Maybe even cut the clips to show her contradictions ("Oh I never yell" then 10 clips of her yelling)
  24. Lifetime movies are those things you don't mean to watch, but then you kind of get sucked in, and you keep trying to turn them off, but you just keep watching. And then there's a preview during the commercials for the next movie and you think, no, I won't watch that, it's ridiculous, and then sure enough, you're half way into it.
  25. Looking at Leah's Facebook page.. how much money is she paid to post those terrible clickbait links? They're all from the same domain so I can't imagine it's random. Otherwise, Leah is dumber than suspected to post that crap.
