They are actually producing “mom” when they say it . They rarely say the short “a” sound the way we do, as in “ask”.

Thanks. Pretty sad when the actual letters don’t count for searches. My last attempt was exactly as the print on the DVR icon (as above, but no space between the initials and the last name-best as I could see it in all its neon glory).

She really is negative all around. Just grateful it’s not solely aimed at Will. An equal opportunity nag. OT: What happened to the DI Ray discussion?? I’ve searched 5x for it-get nothing.

Professor T (UK) - General Discussion
Daff replied to Door County Cherry's topic in Professor T (UK)
The crooked cop (the one who seduced her). But now, she’s lying about having pulled a gun on him? I swear in that last episode of season 2, she was more angry at him for having used her than for being despicably corrupt! -
First, a happy emoji, then a sad (sorry) emoji (program doesn’t allow for mixed emotions, either).

When actors give great performances, I don’t quibble over the “Hollywood liberties” taken with storylines/plot. I enjoy both versions because it gives me a face (or some substance) to visualize while reading the source material. That’s just me, because I’m really not able to visualize facial features from written descriptions. Character, gesture, stance, no problem. Scenery descriptions as well-I can see these images as described. Seeing an actor play the role makes the book more appealing to me.

Funny (strange), that the million years ago for you was around the same time I was working for the school district surrounding Shiprock NM. Although my colleges explained cultural mores to me, the why and the rich history was not included (they seemed not to know). I wish I had known about Hillerman’s books at the time, because even just the first couple would have helped me better understand the students I saw (itinerant specialty, small groups, and individuals). I lived in Farmington, and my favorite treat was Saturday morning market just outside town-Navajo taco for breakfast!

Right? That simple information is easily found on the internet (assuming these idiots are thoroughly bereft of any education). To add insult to injury, the female lead goes around digging the queen out of the hives to transplant her somewhere else? I think not! That’s blatant hive destruction, not preservation (assuming she could even get away with it unscathed).

Grantchester in the Media: All the News You Can't Get from Mrs. Maguire
Daff replied to M. Darcy's topic in Grantchester
If one is to believe information on IMDb, PBS will air one episode of Granchester, s9e1, on June 16. The next episode is listed under 2025. If that’s not an error, it’s a disappointment. -
I did forget to add above: “Your tax dollars at work.” The sad part, as we saw is that the “program” seems to help no one and is easily manipulated by those who wish to take advantage of the public’s largesse. When will people realize that the government’s “deep pockets” are our own?

Seems as if the daughters did and talked the dad out of transporting the body home. If the daughters are able to keep the house and rent it out, they should be able to have at least a week or so each to themselves each year. For Ros, that may help her “find” herself. Not sure Rosalind really wants to leave her husband, she just knows that her life should be more fulfilling to her and she can’t seem to make that happen.

I got the impression it was not for criminals, but a bandaid to get at least some of the “actively using” unhomed off the streets (for both their and the public’s protection). Note that they all seemed able to come and go at will.

I think the lack of Naloxone underlined the total mismanagement and failure of the program (talk about wasted public funds). I’ve recently seen a number of murder mysteries involving poison and my guess is a dab of toothpaste-one that contains a bit of hydrogen peroxide for whitening to achieve that frothy foam effect.

They would sorely disappoint those “Hearties” who spend hours and money in the Hallmark stores (online and brick/mortar).
-
They had uses for the resulting blood.

Yes, it’s fairly evident “Dad” checked out years ago, dissociating himself from the family. Once found, the cat warmed up pretty quickly-they like to be in close proximity to the hand that fills the bowl.

I agree, their parts might have had better writing. However, in season 2 Martha has moved out of herself, engaging with all around her. She’s made friends in the community, apart from Humphrey, advised younger employees, and in general, begun to look toward a positive future. Her mom is finding her way in a new world, having recently been bereft, then experienced an unfortunate “first foray” into dating. I agree, also, that Kelby is the main draw for the target demographic and I thoroughly enjoy seeing him grow and succeed. I love this new vehicle for DiP, because of the ensemble characters, the setting, and the lighthearted fare. Unfortunately, I seem to be alone, as this isn’t a very popular forum, but I’m here till it ceases.

She’s so low-key and calm, juxtaposed to Elsbeth’s craziness. She really makes the partnership work. I especially loved the warning look she shot at Elsbeth when she confiscated the cane as Quinn was arrested. (Really? You’re handing her a potential weapon on her way to jail?)

I think that’s why they were looking for a “broker”. An intermediary who could insure separation between judge/lawyer and therefore get a slice of any monetary gain (or, perhaps merely retain his/her employment).

Obviously, we’re supposed to believe Becca jumped to that conclusion. My issue is her OTT reaction to the shirts. As if she couldn’t live with the fact that they were in that drawer.

Can’t wait for season 3. I’ve finished all the books written by Tony H. and just finished the first Leaphorn/Chee written by his daughter, Anne. She has continued the great storytelling he started. Are there enough fans of the books to add a book discussion topic?

Well, after next week, we’ll have seen all the sibs as adults..now I want to go back to the first few episodes and see them as kids again.
-
I didn’t rewatch, but here’s what I think: Miss H met the young man while working together, became friends and met his family. They did things families do together and invited her along. More developed between them and it was his father’s family who insisted on adoption and found the adoptive family. When the boy became an adult, the adoptive family helped him to find his bio parents. I suspect that the biological paternal grandparents shared the slides with him and directed him to England and Miss H.

Teddy. I’d agree with that as long as they did the preparing privately, within their own hearts. The point was to give May a sense of stable, loving security, and not allow her to worry about the future (that’s the parent's responsibility). Developmentally, kids develop problems without that, and they manifest in all sorts of behavioral ways. Age wise, Timothy was the only sib old enough to handle the possible loss, and he’s been aware of it all along.
