  1. Question which I hope does not offend as I am genuinely curious and not trying to make a point or cause any issues, however I am a man who is generally not handy and would rather call a guy to do most things. Even things I may know how to do and this statement stood out to me because it is the equivalent of the following if you change the gender roles and it bothered me. I have gotten into arguments with my friends because my now ex-wife would do yard work or clean the gutters or shovel the driveway, whatever tasks some people traditionally consider "man/husband" work. I was also a stay at home dad for years. I grew up in a home with 4 females and no males and they did everything or called someone to do the things they didn't want to do like shovel the driveway on big snowstorms or do the lawn at times. Don't get me wrong, we all did that stuff too but sometimes it was easier to pay someone to do it. "As a man, I appreciate a woman who can cook and when we are out of food, her first instinct isn't to order takeout. Her initial thoughts are "I know how to do stuff in the kitchen" Maybe I am just being overly sensitive due to my own personal experiences in being called "not a real man" because I didn't do yard work (other than mowing the lawn as I enjoyed that) or was handy around the house.
  2. The blue-collar/white collar discussion reminded me of something that happened within my group of friends back in the early 90's. A very attractive female cousin of one of the female members of our group was hanging out with us on one of our weekly drinking get together. Somehow the discussion turned to dating and we were joking that she should date one of the guys in our group. Now bear in mind that we had all been friends since high school so they both knew each other at least in passing. She got all offended and said she only dated White Collar Guys. Now my friend was an accountant in a management position at his family's accounting firm plus was a millionaire (on paper) due to multiple real estate holdings that he owned and rented out to various businesses. There was literally an hours long argument that his job was white collar and she refused to believe it. She ended up marrying a soccer coach a few years later. This episode reminded me of the issues some people have with white collar vs blue collar jobs and why it is all so stupid.
  3. Couldn't Clementine be seen in the background of that shot?
  4. How can squatters be more difficult to remove? Is this a city thing? If you are trespassing on someone else's property, the police can arrest you right there can't they? If not makes no sense to me but then again many laws we have don't. Looks like in CA, squatters have to be in possession of the property for over 5 years before they can claim any rights. Not sure how long Lux has been open but probably at least that long.
  5. I am pretty happy with the rumored results of this challenge. Good mix of newbies and vets.
  6. I admittedly know nothing about real life eviction laws but the show seemed to be implying that the lease wasn't actually valid and therefore Lucifer was actually a squatter on the property which is why it was a police matter rather an eviction court matter.
  7. I still fail to see why what is the equivalent of using a battery operated sex toy to masturbate with is causing so many issues for married couples but then again I was married to someone who cheated on me many times and would have welcomed her using a synth rather than seeing multiple ex boyfriends and craigslist hookups. All they are (the non sentient ones) are interactive dildos or flesh-lights.
  8. Then the writers need to come up with better scenarios. I have no problem with a bad guy who is shown to have a similar power set to a superhero being a challenge. But it absolutely is fake drama. There is no need for it in my opinion. I hate it in the comics, cartoons, books and any medium where the writers can't figure out a way to make a story interesting so they just depower superheroes for a plot point. It has always bugged me even as a little kid. But I am one of the people who doesn't need their heroes in entertainment to have to struggle or overcome a challenge to enjoy the story. I personally don't get bored of heroes just being overwhelming powerful who just stop bad guys as a routine matter of fact. I know I am in the minority on this. But if there must be a challenge, at least find a way to have it be believable within the power set and world that was created. It is only when it is blatantly obvious the only reason something happens is because the writers deem it so because they are unable to come up with anything better or more "realistic" that it bugs me. Like some people have brought up that Supergirl just flies into her apartment at all hours of the day and no one seems to notice. I don't care about that even though it is unrealistic in the real world, you could argue she is just moving so fast "in world" that no one can see but they are showing it to us slowed down so we can see it on the show. Having a human with a ray gun not be able to be stopped by even another regular human with a regular gun doesn't make sense let alone one of the 2 supposed most powerful beings in the world having an issue is just glaring to me.
  9. One of my biggest pet peeves is when they depower superheroes or make their powers inconsistent for plot purposes or to introduce false conflict or risk. Ugh. This show which has a lot of great things to it, has been guilty of this at times in the past but especially the past few weeks it has gotten unbearable. No matter what guns these guys had Supergirl should have had ZERO difficulty in defeating them in seconds. And I love how all of a sudden just because some dude gets a ray gun he is able to hit a speeding flying Superhero out of the air like she is a non moving target. Multiple people who don't have super speed have been able to all of a sudden grab Supergirl by the foot or cape when she flies away which is total crap. The name is SUPERgirl not slightly stronger than everybody else in the universe girl. Superman/girl is capable of moving faster than the literal blink of an eye yet somehow these villains (and HUMANS NO LESS) have the same reflexes speed wise. I know I may be coming off as the typical "comic nerd" but I am not even big on the comics, I just hate inconsistency related to powers for the sole purpose of fake drama.
  10. Ah ok. Then that is just a procedural rule I think. Some people were confused thinking it meant he was involved.
  11. Honestly I didn't see the credit, I am only going off what others have said. If that is the case then yes I agree. I read a review that said it was a co-writing credit.
  12. his wife's name in the movies is Victoria Lynn Riggs. Shane Black despite having a writing credit said he has nothing to do with this show nor does he want to. He said he is friends with the people making it and wishes them luck but a watered down TV show isn't something he is interested in. Not sure if he changed his mind last minute or they are just giving him a credit as a sign of respect for creating the characters. Although the characters that ended up onscreen via Mel and Danny were very different than the ones he had created originally.
  13. I have only watched Part 1 so far and this is the first documentary or show I have seen on this case. I was generally aware of it but never got into the depths like I did with say OJ or West Memphis 3. It is way more interesting and weird than I remembered from 20 years ago. Can anyone recommend any other documentaries or programs that are on par or better than this one?
  14. I keep getting distracted by Jonathan because I think he resembles a young Axl Rose and thinking he should play him if they ever do a biopic of Guns N Roses.
  15. I had a junior high and never even heard of a thing called middle school until I was married and had a child old enough to go to one. My town and all the ones around me had elementary schools through 6th Grade, Jr High for 7th and 8th Grade, then 9-12 was High School. Honestly I like this better because I don't think 6th graders and 8th graders need to be in the same school. There is way too much of a jump both in size, maturity, puberty, etc for there not to be issues. I know my daughter was terrified of going into 6th grade and having to be around 8th graders on the playground, on the bus, etc. Many of the 8th graders were already drinking, some were having sex, etc. Oh and we used both douchebag and chill in the early 80's at least in Massachusetts.
  16. Yeah douchebag was pretty common in Mass for sure during that time. You know because chances were your mom actually had one in the bathroom cabinet/closet. It is weird it is still in use considering most people today have never even seen one nor know what it does.
  17. Ann Coulter loves comedy and is known to frequent comedy clubs quite often and is actually friends with quite a few of them (just not the ones appearing on the roast) and if you hear her on a non political show she has a sense of humor and laughs A LOT during those appearances. She also said she thought a few of the jokes were funny and she liked them. The one by Jewel and one by Nikki in particular she pointed out. But she said she didn't think a lot of the jokes had a punchline and it resorted to just making fun of her looks and calling her the C word. Apparently it was a lot more than was shown. So she decided to adlib the whole promoting her book thing because she was getting so beat up she said screw it and had her comedian friend who was there with her go get the book so she could just plug it and at least get something out of being called a C word dozens of times over and over. Now I am only sharing what I heard her say, not saying it is true or anything. I think she didn't know how bad it was going to be so was kinda shell shocked and just plastered that grin on her face. She said at one point her friend ran up to her in a break and told her that she had to laugh more at the jokes about her and she said she couldn't fake it if she didn't find it funny. She should have done her research, watched a few prior roasts and accepted the jokes they gave her. She also said if it sold any books at all it was worth it.
  18. I was reading the comments in this thread and thinking the exact same thing you posted. In my elementary school, I had all female teachers except for 1 year and pretty much the exact opposite in high school. Almost entirely male teachers with a few females. I believe I had a total of 4 female teachers my entire 4 years of high school. In my Jr High School (Grades 7 & 8), aside from my homeroom teachers I only had 1 female teacher in 8th grade. The rest were all male.
  19. We will have to agree to disagree. I would much rather watch a cute precocious kid than an annoying bratty teen.
  20. Wow, I never got that impression at all. From day 1 I saw a weak loser who was willing to take whatever this woman he was into would give him which apparently consisted of taking care of her kids when she was busy with Jesse and the occasional booty call. She even said flat out that they would never be "together" as she got undressed and he followed implying that he was good enough to bang at her demand but not good enough to actually be a real part of her life. His position as Mayor never seemed to come up at all. He could have been a box boy at the grocery store for what I gathered. Maybe I missed something?
  21. I really dislike the new daughter of Alan and Lloyd. Only thing worse than adding a precocious kid is a stereotypical sarcastic annoying teen. Gabby really did look like Edna!
  22. I didn't get that impression. It was pretty clear they were fuck buddies and he was way more into her than she was. She was basically using him as a release while pining for Jessie while he wanted to actually be in a relationship with her. He had to be out before the kids woke up, etc. I believe his saying he was going to stay the night was not about sex (consensual or not) but moving their status from fuck friends to boyfriend girlfriend who have adult sleepovers.
  23. He has mellowed in real life too. I was listening to a podcast recently that CT was on and he was asked about his last fight in real life of course. It wasn't that long ago and he was sucker punched in the back of the head by some drunk guy in a bar and CT went down for a second but wasn't knocked out or hurt and his boys were holding the guy back expecting CT to wail on the guy but he told them to let the guy go and he just grabbed both of the guys wrists and held him like that and basically berated the guy just like he did to Wes on that challenge. As others have previously said on the challenge CT is ridiculously strong even for a guy his size and the guy couldn't even move his arms and had to just take the verbal beat-down. CT has definitely grown up a LOT these past few years. Losing his brother and Diem plus getting older and wiser has really made a big difference in him I think. If that guy had thrown that punch back in the day CT would have pummeled him regardless of the consequences. Now he knows he has stuff to lose and life is too short to be stupid and made dumb decisions.
  24. I dont know how I feel about the "pilot". It wasn't that funny and was missing the heart of what makes Young & Hungry enjoyable as fluffy as it is. Plus less Sofia on Y&H cannot be a good thing.
