  1. I think his initial hurt was over having sex and getting rejected and that turned to anger when he saw her with the couples and felt left out. But I think after he exploded, he came to the realization she is never going to like him even if he denounced the 80s as being a devil of a decade. I don't see seething anger, I just see someone resigned to knowing it was over before it started and is just biding his time and trying to crack a joke about the situation b/c it's uncomfortable.
  2. I don't blame any of the participants for not being attracted to the person they are matched up with. I just don't think Jake should change everything about himself in the hopes of her being attracted to him and the therapist shouldn't be encouraging her to try to change the core of his personality either. I don't see her as being in fear or unsafe. I see someone who knows she will NEVER be attracted to Jake and she feels badly about that b/c she doesn't want to hurt his feelings. Haley doesn't strike me as a woman who would stay in an unsafe situation.
  3. If Virginia isn't even sure if she wants kids, why are they setting her up with someone who wants them right away? Same thing with the cat allergies. Seemingly the first 2 questions on the interview sheets should be "Do you want children"? "Are you allergic/scared of/not want pets"? If it's maybe, you get set up with a maybe person. If it's no, you are set up with the no person. If they really want people to believe each couple is matched with their best match, they need to get squared away on those 2 questions first. Otherwise, let's put compatible people together because being compatible doesn't mean you are going to have couples hit it off 100% of the time and have a boring reality show.
  4. He should've reciprocated with a new wardrobe for her. I don't think a "thank you" should be in order for someone that tells you I'm only going to be attracted to you if you dress the way I want you to dress. I think a "fuck you" is more in order!
  5. When they were talking sexual positions, watching Ryan's reactions, did anyone else think of the "bags of sand" scene in 40 Year Old Virgin? i really doubt that he is and I'm with everyone else -- Clara's hyperintense focus on sex w/o emotional commitment is odd.
  6. So, Haley basically tells the therapist that she has changed everything about Jake and how wonderful Jake has been about changing and her reaction is "that's what a husband does" or something like that? Hey, why the fuck should Jake have to change nearly everything about him? I mean, if Jake was making Haley dress the way he wants to forget about her passions he finds weird, would the therapist be saying that was a great thing?
  7. Oh shit, I guess I missed that episode or just forgot about it! But still, we still never saw her struggling through college did we? Like she got upset b/c she couldn't Pearson speech her way into being a non-degreed music teacher, so she just finished college but never seemed to ever have to study for a test on the show?
  8. I enjoyed this episode but guffawed when Kate said she finished school. How was that not a major storyline? No wonder Toby considers her unflappable -- she apparently got a college degree without ever cracking open a book to study all the while being a mom to a toddler! I totally got where Toby was coming from this episode. Kevin should've only offered support in the way of, "You'll get something really soon" and then pulled Kate aside to say "I'm here if you need any $ to help out while he's looking for a job." The nanny comment was out of bounds, but overall I understood and thought it was one of the more realistic reactions -- I'm a woman with pride and would not want someone already trying to pay my way. Randall and the duck lips comment was perfection.
  9. Yeah, those "likes" are bad combined with the bullying of a high school mate for liking black guys. To me, that's so overt and makes so much more sense for her to be dragged much more over. Did I miss them talking about the liked photos and bullying a high school mate? Or just over the Antebellum party? I feel like they purposefully muted the other stuff which is more overt, but maybe I just didn't pay enough attention.
  10. I agree 100%. I think this has more to do with playing dress-up then being a skinhead. And shit, Lady Antebellum changed their names to Lady A in late 2020. The racial sensitivities to celebrating Antebellum and playing dress up is really in the last year come to a head. Ryan Reynolds and his wife in 2020 apologized about their Antebellum plantation wedding. I can see college aged kids in 2018 not realizing how insensitive this is, especially if you live in an area that celebrates Antebellum period with plantation parties. Now, this Rachel apparently she made fun of, bullied interracial couples in high school. That's a hell of a lot more overtly racist to me and I don't understand why that isn't a bigger issue for her unless it's just bc there's no photographic proof.
  11. Congrats to you because you seem to be very happy. Life is about living on your own terms, so good on you!
  12. I really hope next week we get to see someone give Haley a wardrobe.
  13. I hope she finds someone else that enjoys life. I was struck in one of his first episodes where he talked about his lack of a degree was an issue for his ex. I don't think he's ever recovered from that feeling of inadequacy. He should either get a degree or get a therapist.
  14. Eric must've picked up the guitar last year. The way his friend asked him if Virginia if she's heard him play yet made me think he's a virtuoso. I was not expecting basic chords.
  15. Based on my last few flights, the weight limit restriction is not happening. Or not as severe. I like Jake. I think he's got a wry sense of humor and I love the looks he gives. But he's not for Haley, she's not attracted in the slightest. And that's okay too. I never think those who just aren't attracted are jerks -- it's how they handle not being attracted to the person they are matched with.
  16. I totally agree. I remember feeling second-hand embarrassment for her as she did not mesh at all. She wasn't quite as vulgar as her stint on RHONY but she did have a couple of very biting remarks that were so out of place. Did she get shit canned from that show?
  17. My takeaway: For once, Bethenny's comments could have a disastrous impact on her business and therefore she apologized to make it look as though she was just unaware of what Megan and Harry have gone through. (Confession: I give zero shits about M&H and the royals in general).
  18. Watching this episode now. I hate this woman so much.
  19. Me! I liked him. I felt terrible for him with all he's gone through and was disappointed there wasn't WLS or an update on him.
  20. As much as I hate watch this show sometimes I read an article about how this show isn't going to go on forever and they have that ending planned already and I got the sads! Something tells me spinoff is a distinct possibility though!
  21. Ha, I love it! Keith Morrison is by far the best storyteller. But the face is scarier than the storylines!
  22. I'm so obsessed with Dateline! To the point I'll watch the same episode several times over!
