  1. Anna and the healthy dinner..... didn't she learn healthy choices when they still lived in Arkansas and Josh lost weight with this same personal trainer? There was nothing this new 'friend' showed Anna that she couldn't have gotten from any of the readily available women's magazines, such as Family Circle, Woman's Day, or even ones geared toward Christian Women. Does she never read? I'm not much of a cook, but I 've seen all the article, and have actually purchased some cookbooks geared toward healthy eating.
  2. Not impressed with the quality of the storyline. The artistry of certain scenes, sure : Kate drenched in water, the dinghy, Kate/Espo and the coffee. But the storyline? What, did high school students write this script? Star-crossed lovers, anyone? Besides no Jim Beckett, where was Castle's father? He found Alexis, pretty sure he could find and rescue Castle. He's not going to sit on the sidelines and not pop up during a 2 month Castle disappearance. Castle and Kate have less and less chemistry. She can't carry an entire episode by herself, but they sure tried. More of Castle's family was needed here. Alexis should have been falling apart at the end of two months, instead of looking healthy and happy. Lani barely appeared, and she was the maid of honor. The only thing that rang true was Castle's family being at the hospital before Kate.
  3. Leo is a teenage male. His brain says 1. the best defense is a good offense, and 2 - can't let this girl see my leg. The scene was meant to show his insecurity about his leg, and his lack of preparing her for his condition.
  4. ==In our circles, the mother of the groom is not included in wedding gown shopping. None of my daughters would have appreciated any opinion from them on what we were buying.== I only have sons, no daughters. I would love to see a daughter in law to be try on a wedding dress, because its the only chance I will ever have to be included. If Jill had tried on a dress in her own area instead of flying her entire bridal party half-way across the country, maybe Cathy (who also has only sons) could have been included. My older son has been engaged twice, and is now married. The first fiancée deliberately excluded me from the dress shopping. Later she told my son that we lived 3 hours away and that she would never bring any potential children to our house because that was just too far. In other words, we weren't good enough for her. Second fiancee included no one in her dress shopping, not even her Mom. She, however, will contact me quite often now just to chat, and I know she cares about me. She is well aware that all I ask of her is to treat my son well. Bringing this back to the Duggars, Jill needs to remember that she needs to build a good rapport with her MIL, because Derick is extremely close to his Mom, and probably won't take kindly to her being excluded on a regular basis.
  5. Watching this on DVR. What did Matt expect Amy to do about his injury... offer to stay over at his place and take care of him? He's the one that wanted to be on his own. Dealing with injury or illness is something by himself he should have considered before he split. His disabilities are only going to get worse as he ages. I get the feeling Matt thinks he's just going to give Jeremy the farm as a wedding gift at this point.
  6. A picture was taken when Zach did the proposal, from pretty far away (edge of the field, I think) , and released. I think Zach and Tori handled it just right.
  7. This huge building just explodes and all that results is one death (of a person that just recovered from a serious injury a few weeks ago), and one broken leg? So much suspenseful build up for that? I liked Shay, but she was also whiny, needy, and totally inept. I kept watching the clock wishing the hour would end, and that is not normal for me with Chicago Fire. On the other hand, both Person of Interest and Forever are on at the same time, so I won't have to try to figure out what to DVR, and what to go watch in the other room.
  8. IMO, the watch being lost is not an integral part of his death experience. He lost in when he drowned the first time, and he lost it when he couldn't reach it before he died in the subway. It flew out of his hands when the train hit. I assume if he holds it during the death experience, he still has it when he surfaces in the water. I'm guessing because his first resurrection experience was in water, that must be the explanation as to why he always resurrects in water? I can do without the four death experiences each episode. Hope that was just a pilot device. I missed the tattoo on the baby and on Abe, so thanks for pointing that out. Must have been listening instead of watching on those scenes. Do we know how the phone caller knows what he knows? Was he on the train also? Since our star has been alive 200 years, this must be the first time their paths have crossed?
  9. Given the lack of realism on other TV shows these days (Revolution, Under the Dome, any sitcom, any 'reality' show, I'm willing to let the realism issue slide. It made for an enjoyable hour of TV entertainment. That's all I require.
  10. Well, the amount of money is interesting. I'd sit thru two weeks of 'therapy' for $150,000 too.
  11. Just watched my DVR's Whitey Bulger film. seriously, this was put out by CNN Films? It had the look and feel of a middle school film assignment, and there was no actual info in it.... just a lot of innuendo and implication that the FBI was corrupt and let Whitey run away and hide for 16 years. The story of this man and his crimes could have been much better done.
  12. Wonder if the reason they are still 'deciding' about sleep training is because Derick doesn't want to do it, and just wants to gradually work the baby into a regular schedule as others in his circle of family, friends both here and in Nepal have.
  13. I also find Audrey annoying, not for her make-up.... but for her bubbly, vapish, valley girl personality. made much more obvious by down to earth Tori and Molly.
  14. Given that Josh is in Arkansas once a month, couldn't he have met with the trainer there? Jim Bob looks like he is backsliding also. Bet JB didn't like Steve telling him he didn't eat/exercise properly. Michelle, it's a little late to teach money skills to a 21 year old 3 months before the wedding. " ' Normally, my nursing schedule would prevent me doing chores'.... darn, darn ,darn', She has no excuse for not helping now. I guess Michelle is only interested in Jessas' future babies, not Jills'... who also lives nearby. 'I could hold the baby... no offer to help with laundry or housecleaning... the traditional grandmother help during the first few weeks of Motherhood'. Anna cooks 24 biscuits for two adults and 3 small children? 10 would have been plenty. What does Steve's weight have to do with the youngest Duggar offsprings' weight? He's a grown man. And not overweight. Stupid pop-ups. What the heck... canned goods stay good for a couple years. What is .Anna doing with a bunch of expired canned goods? Did she haul all that up from Arkansas?. Great, more filler footage of Soap Box Derby cars... in the house. Jordyn and Josie both need speech therapy. Jenny reminds me of children that have been taught not to speak unless their parents tell them to. Now we know why Derick and Jill took so many pictures during the engagement. That's when they got to stand close to each other., give each other side hugs and so forth.
  15. Poor Ben, John David just wants to make fun of him. Some supportive brother-in-law to be. A fiancée that doesn't really know anything bout him, and just tries to give him gushy fake compliments because Mama Michelle told her that's the way to be. John David and Jim Bob think that the Seewalds haven't taught Ben the needed skills to be a husband? Jim Bob thinks a personal assistant is a grunt that cleans toilets and puts up fences? I don't think Ben has any real interest in being in the Dugger work force. He is just (as his Dad said in the blog) jumping thru hoops to get permission to marry Jessa .
  16. Lenny Briscoe is my favorite character of this entire series, or any of the other Law and Order franchises. I love his episodes. Max was a close second.
  17. What I find more amazing than the registry itself is the number of complete strangers that buy from it. I have never bought a gift for someone that I didn't know. I may have contributed to a fundraiser if I felt moved to do so, but I was convinced it was needed. The Duggar-Dillards do not need my gifts or money. Even without the show income, Michelle has been shown to have a storage shed full of extra child things. Yes, they sold a bunch, but I bet they had a bunch left. Even without that, Derick has a decent full time job (let's hope his Mom convinces him to keep it, and not jump on the Duggar bandwagon). He gets a discount at Walmart and they can buy the extra they need, or have actual friend-given showers. Why do complete strangers feel the need to spend their money on these two?
  18. Zach bought a house, so he must have more income coming in or saved than we might know about. Jeremy's degree in photography, does not give him a 'one-up' on Zach. Zach was shown in one of the specials trying to complete his associate degree... because he had' places to go, people to see'.. I am not going to hold anything that I think might be related to Zach's physical body shape against him, such as his breathing, eating, teeth, and so forth. I think he has grown up to be much more aware of his parents relationship with each other than the rest of the bunch, and also much more aware of how to treat people (other than Jacob, that is). He and Tori seem to be very special together.
  19. This is an example of the same thinking that got Amy excluded from the wedding party, IMO. Amy doesn't practice the same brand of Christianity that the rest of the Duggars do. IMO, Jill was 'encouraged' to only select people that met the Duggar religious standards to participate in the religious ceremony. I had a friend who refused to ask her a very close friend to participate for just that reason.
  20. I guess that Jim Bob is allowing (allowing, what a concept, yuck) Jessa and Ben to get married because this courtship has gone on long enough that 'pieces of the heart' are now involved, and Jessa might have 'baggage' if she moved on to a more suitable man. It can't be because he thinks the two of them are ready to be married, using their concept of 'ready'. Ben has no real job to support her with, and she won't be expected to financially contribute. She will be expected to use her money as 'pin money', that concept of she can buy herself baubles and such. They can't carry on on a real conversation. They've known each other long enough that the talking heads (and chaperoned dates) should be more natural than Jessa practicing the 'you're sweet' advice that Michelle gave her. Ben and Jessa are the example of the very young couple that ends up living in the garage of a parent's home as they can't afford rent anywhere.
  21. Now that the Browns have 5 offspring in college, and mostly outside the house (Aspyn, McKenzie, Logan all live in apartments, not dorms), do you think Janelle and Christine will have to raise their own children? Rather than Logan and Aspyn doing it for them? How will Kody deal with about 35% fewer offspring around to bark orders to, and blame for all his own mistakes?
  22. Does anyone else get annoyed by the way Derick's step-father is being ignored in this episode? I realize he probably wants to be filmed as little as possible,... but they go out of their way to ignore him. The script is 'Derick goes to visit his Mom', not 'Derick goes to visit his Mom and step-father'. Derick skypes his Mom, but doesn't even say Hi (or say to say Hi) to his step-father. I realize that Derick's Dad died when he was 18, so Ronnie hasn't been around for more than a few years, but it seems disrespectful to me. Does he actively dislike the man? Or it is fundy rule that step-parents are second class citizens even if the biological parent is dead? I mean, if Ronnie (Cathy's husband) hadn't encouraged her to go to the doctor, her cancer might have been discovered much later and been harder to cure. If Josh dies, does that mean Anna can't ever get re-married, and has to be a single parent forever?
  23. I'm of the theory that the Duggar women (actually all women) should 1, dress in a style that makes them comfortable, 2 - dress in a style that shows they have some self-respect, 3 - dress in a style that they are willing to be seen in by the people that see them, 4 - dress in a style appropriate for the occasion . For example, don't wear dance club attire to the office, church, a funeral, or to the neighbors home. However, the Duggars and their friends don't do any of these suggestions in moderation. Michelle can't seem to do anything in moderation because that involves thought. I really think that she decided to go to the extreme so that she didn't have to decide if an outfit was appropriate.
  24. ==I thought that was a very strange thing for her to say! They already showed that it was a huge house. What made her think that the newlywed's lovemaking would be so loud, boisterous and public that she couldn't be in the same house?== I didn't take it that way. I took it as Anna recognizing that people who barely knew each other before the wedding, and were not allowed to touch until said wedding, might need some privacy. They might feel odd about touching each other, kissing each other, or 'doing the deed' with someone else in their home. I certainly would think twice about it if my sibling, his wife, and their kids were in our house.. and I have been married a lot longer than 1 year. 
  25. Surely you are supposed to forget about Jane's previous injuries, because that was so two weeks ago. Maura is being shown this season the way she was being shown in season one, unable to function in daily life, but super-brilliant. Medical examiners do not go to suicide bridges until after the suicide, and they wouldn't go then unless they were called and the police (multiple) were already there. Coroners do go to people's homes when a natural death occurs, but that is something different. I liked the Angela routine this week. maybe it was because Jane was on board with Angela. I really do like the new female on the squad, and Frankie has matured this season. Korsak is stepping up.... but they have not yet explained where the Lt. actually went. He would have been front and center for this high-profile case,
