  1. I felt sorry for her. I mean we live in a society where we see pictures of women with perfect breasts and flat stomachs. Now people think that's normal. Desiree said that her stomach was flat until she had children, that is normal. But today it seems that normal isn't what a lot of men want. They want long hair, big boobs and a flat stomach, even if you don't have it naturally. So women feel pressure to wear weaves and have plastic surgery because I guess they feel that's the only way they'll meet someone.
  2. I caught this show last night and I laughed at it. It's so damn fake, I could tell. True, but not everybody wants to live the same type of life; not everybody should live the same type of life, what works for me might not work for another. But this show is fake, so who cares.
  3. Re: Food Allergies, are they more prevalent now? I'm serious when I said I only knew one girl who was allergic to cow's milk; but I never met someone allergic to nuts until the 1990's. Maybe Elliot's stupid gf is like me and had never met anybody with a food allergy or intolerance. I wonder if we see more allergies and the like because of the environment (we're fucking with it), or because antibiotics are everywhere and screwing with people's systems. At any rate, a food intolerance or allergy is nothing to laugh at and if someone tells you they can't have something and you're the cook, then you make it without that ingredient.
  4. But it still doesn't explain why, if he and his wife knew that would be an issue, would he go on the show? In that case, why would any married or person in a relationship go on a show where you'll be around another naked person not your SO?
  5. I liked the episode; but then again I don't have any problems with the Seahawks. As for Elliot's gf, they both deserve each other. As for food allergies, full disclose here, the only person I knew who had a food allergy, was a friend who was allergic to cow's milk; I grew up in the era where you could bring cupcakes to school and not worry about half the class getting sick. Still, if someone TELLS you they're allergic to something and you ignore that, you suck as a human being.
  6. That's pretty scary about men. So basically it's normal for a man to cheat if he finds himself with a naked woman? Meaning men have no self control at all? To me that's like saying if a man sees an attractive woman in a sexy outfit, he can't help himself from harassing her, which to me is a cop out. I don't think a man should get away with, "what could I do? I'm just a man." But we both agree that the guy probably shouldn't have auditioned for the show if he felt that way. I mean would he lose it if he even SAW a naked woman who wasn't his wife?
  7. I'm sorry but if they felt that way about cuddling, then don't go on the damn show. I got a right wing nutjob vibe from that guy though, so probably he's married to a shrew like Elisabeth Hasselbeck who thinks everything is a "gateway to cheating" or some shit like that.
  8. I think that part of it is that the studios and the make up or skin care companies are owned by the same corporation.
  9. Or maybe the guy's just an asshole who didn't think. I don't think it's a dumb question because, even though it's obvious, what's not obvious is why he did it. Maybe the question should have been, "Why did you buy all of that?" To me, passive aggressive would have been not saying anything and refusing to speak to him for the rest of the day.
  10. For me, a "true relationship" is whatever the two people say it is. I don't think there's one definition of what healthy is. Kandi needs to step up to her mother though; just because a person puts up a boundary with someone, doesn't mean they don't love them; Kandi will be forever run over by her mother unless she puts her foot down.
  11. I didn't see it as a dumb question it was like, "WTF did you do!" Also, it's different when you buy a bedroom suite because hopefully you will have room for what you buy, but this guy looked like he purchased too much furniture for their living room; the living room looked cluttered with all that shit in there.
  12. She says to him, "what did you do?" Maybe it's me but I don't see her as being a shrew. I do see him as being an idiot though; I mean what jerk would buy everything for more money just because "it was a deal?" To me, she looked at him as if she can't believe anybody would be so stupid.
  13. To me Gyp was nothing more than a live action cartoon, a parody of a gangster more than a character. I mean I just KNEW that he'd be henpecked at home and if I figured that out by episode two, then to me, the character is boring. The best part of season 3 was Richard Storming The Castle at the end.
  14. I think Carrie wanted to be on TV more than she wanted the challenge. The sad truth about reality TV is that you have to be memorable, even if it's for being a bitch, at least people remember you; the more memorable you are, the more camera time you get, the more camera time you get, the more you have a chance to be on another reality show. Everybody wants a villain, someone that people can talk about. However if that's what she wanted, she should try out for a Bravo show more than a show on the Discovery Channel.
  15. When Teresa said, "College fund" I turned off the TV. That's such bullshit; they probably never even thought of college. There is a line from "Black Sails" where Captain Flint explains why he wants to take most of the prize, something like, "no matter how much money they (the crew) get, they'll just piss, drink and whore it away." That describes Joe and Tre to a tee, they're pirates.
  16. If it's the clip I saw, he wasn't accepting an award, it was taken backstage when they were all doing press after the SAG's I think. One of the little kids said something like, "Michael, you always want a cigarette," which I thought was funny. Asshole or not, the show took a nosedive when Jimmy died.
  17. I think this is a case of MMV because I don't hear anything wrong with the woman's tone.
  18. From Black Sails: Episode 1, Captain Flint vs. Singleton, a fight to the death featuring a creative use of a mini cannonball.
  19. Okay, I watched the entire series. I LOVED it, so much so that I might have to swap out HBO for STARZ (at least until GoT comes back). In a strange way, this show kind of reminded me of GoT with its different stories, political intrigue, everybody trying to "win" in this case not the Iron Throne, but Nassau. Maybe I'm totally nuts but I kind of saw Flint's point of view. Everybody else was like, "let's spend the money of women and liquor" but he was thinking of the future. He wanted the gold to arm Nassau and basically tell the British and the Spanish and whoever, "don't fuck with us." Now, what I didn't get was WTF was the deal with he and Mrs Barlow or Hamilton? From what Eleanor's father, Richard said, Flint and Mrs. Barlow had an affair; she was married to a nobleman and he was a Naval officer; said nobleman found out about the affair and went to nut city, was hospitalized and for that Barlow and Flint were banished or something? Damn, and people think that we're fucked up today. I mean you have an affair with a famous person today and you get a book deal. Anyway, I wasn't too clear what the deal was with them. Also Charles Vane (who bothered me because his eyes were too close together and his nose was too big) was obviously sexually abused as a child when he was on that bizarre island with that big, bearded guy. I got that from when he stared at that little boy, and when big bearded guy touched him. YUK, I'm sure that shit went on a zillion times more than it goes on today because I don't know if there was an age of consent back then or if children were just seen as little adults. I liked Eleanor and Max together and I liked what Max told her at the end, that she learned from Eleanor not to let anything cloud your ambition. Poor Max who went through so much. I loved the actress, but I had to look her up because I thought she was Zoe Kravitz at first. One thing I was kind of pleased with Starz about, strangely, was before the episode, after they said the show was TVMA and then told what the episode was going to entail (GV for Graphic Violence, etc), they actually had a "R" for rape. I was surprised by that because I don't think I've ever seen that on HBO, even if rape happens on a show. I was glad that Starz gave that warning, and I was also glad that Max's rape wasn't glamorized, it was ugly, horrible, violating, and that's how it looked to me on screen. I also knew it wasn't going to end well for Gates when he told Flint, "I'll get you and Mrs. Barlow on a ship to Boston." I was like, "shit, wrong answer." I have to say that Billy annoyed me with his self righteous. I mean Flint wasn't totally playing with a full deck of cards but the crew wasn't exactly a group of choir boys and the only way to rule a group like that is to be a badass that a they'll be afraid to fuck with. Also the Quartermaster annoyed me too; I wanted to snatch his glasses off him, he thought he was all that because he went all "Dracula" in battle, and bit through someone's juggler (I didn't even know a human being's teeth were that strong). Anyway, I loved the show, bring on season 2.
  20. I am watching this now. I got STARZ in order to watch this. So far I'm loving it, not perfect but its hot and brutal and I love the opening credits.
  21. If that's true then they cut off their nose to spite their face. The show sucked after Jimmy was killed. Damn, most folks are able to work with those they don't like and do it ever day, for years.
  22. I'm confused. I never thought there wasn't going to be a season 4 and of course it's with Nev and Max. They were just joking with Selita taking over Max's spot, I never thought for one second they were serious about breaking up Nev and Max.
  23. I laughed at that because it sounded like he'd seen "Snakes on a Plane." (Samuel L. Jackson says something like, "Get those motherfucking snakes of this motherfucking plane.") I wonder if Elliot's girlfriend is real or if she's just some chick he met online who just used him to get on TV. I never underestimate the power of people who just HAVE to get on TV no matter what.
  24. I watched last night, whoa how sad that episode was. Kristen and Josh both suck. Both of them should realize that everything you do in life has a price. If Josh wants to have a family, he can't do whatever he wants and not have consideration for his wife. He could have sent her a text, then again, the way Kristen is, she probably would have text back something like: WHEN R U COMING HOMEEEE, in all caps of course. Speaking of Kristen, she too has to realize that she is married to a man who can earn enough so that she doesn't have to work. I have no sympathy for her because I see so many single mothers in my neighborhood of NYC who have to get up super early, dress the children, dress themselves, get their children to day care, then go to work at a crappy job that doesn't pay enough; wash, rinse repeat. Would Kristen like to be in their position, having to do everything herself, with no help, no nannies? And it's a peeve of mine but why doesn't she know how to cook? It's not that hard. Josh shouldn't expect food on the table if he married a woman who doesn't know how to cook. I would feel sorry for Sonja if she wasn't such a nasty person. To me she seems stuck in the past, at a time when she was younger. I can see that, I mean no one wants to get old; but there is such a thing as accepting what is and moving on. Sonja just seems like she can't move forward, she feels her best days are behind her and everything ahead is a big wall of suck. And I think Ramona's bloat is a combination of menopause and alcohol. If she cuts down on drinking, she can lose some of the bloat, but never the menopause stuff; that shit's hard to lose, naturally that is, I'm sure the right surgeon can make her tummy flat.
  25. I liked Selita. Nice to see a woman of color as a co host. How was she obnoxious? I did not see it at all. I loved what Selita told Tia. Bianca was dealing with racism, sexism plus was exposed to some nasty religious people. No Tia, you and Bianca are not in the same boat.
