  1. I may be the only person who watched, but In The Motherhood was a funny show. It had the same humor as Happy Endings, but it never got a chance.
  2. How I Met Your Mother went backwards on their feminist character. Robin in the first season was focused on her career, intelligent, independent, feminine, and not super interested in settling down. In real life, these people exist. I'm one of them. But in the later seasons, the show decides that Robin could only be that way because of something in her past. They justify Robin's interests by saying her dad raised her as a boy until she was 16. She had short hair, played hockey on a boys team, and her dad refers to her as "son". Obviously only men can be career driven and independent. The only way a woman can be that way is if she is basically a dude.
  3. Team Waffle. Unless the pancakes are chocolate chip with a whipped cream smiley face. Does anyone else read this thread title in Leslie's computer voice?
  4. "Do I look like I drink water?" - Donna "I'm not crying! I'm allergic to jerks." - Andy
  5. Looks like this week is all reruns. So that means we haven't seen Fred on a new episode in a month.
  6. I just posted about his win in the Media thread. How will we know where to post this stuff?
  7. Andre Braugher won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the Critic's Choice awards! I predict a lot of awards in this show's future.
  8. The only comedian whose name I remember this season is Rod Man. It could just be how easy his name is, but I think it's because he is awesome. People will probably follow his career if he wins or loses. He makes me happy-laugh, most other comics make me sad-laugh.
  9. Brenda Hampton also wrote the made-for-hate-watching show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager. The show was never as good as 7th heaven. However, one of the seasons opened with Grace (the super Christian chick) losing her virginity at the same time that her father died in a plane(?) accident. It was the worst! Honestly, the show was watchable before that arc. But after, oh Lord! "My dad died because I had sex!"
  10. What color is my tongue? Is it Razzle Red? I have seen that movie every time it has played on TBS, USA, FX whatever. Jennifer Garner can make me enjoy almost anything.
  11. That's more what I meant. It is a surprise to them that their doctor will not be delivering the baby. Every time. They have never known in advance.
  12. I think having a theme for casting would make it more interesting. I know they are trying to get all groups of people to watch the show, but they could still make the casting more focused. If they wanted to have actual celebs on there, they could make it a season of Emmy Nominees. That would include a lot of people, daytime and primetime, but it would also be people who are good at their jobs (in theory). Or Grammy Nominees, this would make for a great group because of all the musical talent, but also comedians like Kathy Griffin have done comedy albums. If they want to stick with reality stars, they could do a Winners theme. They could pick from anyone who has won a reality competition show. American Idol, The Voice, Biggest Loser, Survivor, Amazing Race, Top Chef, Last Comic Standing, and Apprentice winners could all be considered. There are way more shows than that, but you get it? Another theme could be Stars We Knew as Children, which again gives us a large pool to work from. That could include current younger stars (Disney channel/Nickelodeon teens), or previous child stars (Jodie Sweetin, Fred Savage, Alexis Bledel, Thora Birch, Kieran Culkin, Todd Bridges, Taj Mowry). It could even include people who are children of celebrities since the public knew them when they were young, Chaz Bono is the only person I can think of right now. But you catch my drift?
  13. I posted about this in the Playing House forum since it happened on this week's episode. But Only on TV doctors go out of town while their patient is in labor. Not only are they unreachable, but they usually say the line "I never take vacations, I promise" before skipping town. The replacement doctors are always "off beat" and make the pregnant woman freak out. The doctor who loved Fonzi on Friends is one example.
  14. Has anyone ever had their own doctor deliver their baby in sitcom land? Every OBGYN manages to be out of reach while their patient is in labor.
  15. The past few episodes have fallen flat because of the lack of Fred. Seth's writing staff is full of bad actors, which is why they are writers. I wish they would never come out to do fake interviews and bits with him. Grown-up Annie makes me irrationally angry. I like Seth's giggly anecdotes, but only after hearing from Fred about a new project. He just isn't bouncing off of anyone this week (and last).
  16. When a show is trying to create a spinoff, and they air that episode within their original series... those are the worst! Gilmore Girls episode "Here Comes the Son" was an attempt at a spinoff. It followed Jess, Rory's ex boyfriend as he went to reconnect with his father in California. But all of the details about Jess and his father were changed for this episode. It just didn't work, and it's one of the few that I skip on my DVDs.
  17. My UO for Parks: I love Season 1. I haven't seen those episodes as many times as the peak seasons, so they feel like recently discovered episodes. Rock Show is such a good episode. Leslie is a hottie for the first time, and no one is a caricature. I think the first season of any popular show gets better once you know the direction the show went in following seasons.
  18. Let's be honest, this is one of the most quotable shows ever. But instead of listing the scripts in their entirety, I'll tell you the one that got me started watching this show. Kenneth: "I don't vote Republican or Democrat. Choosing is a sin. I always just write in the Lord's name." Jack: "That's Republican. We count those." But, here's the one that made me obsessed with the show. Tracy: "Stop eating people's old French fries, pigeon; have some self respect! Don't you know you can fly?"
  19. What do we think will come of Tom and Nadia? Or will Tom be with Lucy?
  20. That was a pleasant little movie. The daughter was the best part!
  21. Last summer, New Girl was part of the "Summer Binge" and they posted 5 episodes a week. So, I would guess that is their definition of binge. The episodes were only on Fox.com and Hulu (Plus?). If they do it 5 episodes at time, they will take the previous 5 away each Sunday. It was super frustrating when I saw everything besides episodes 3-5 by the end of summer. The rewatch may need to follow Fox's schedule if everyone wants to watch online.
  22. Nasim Pedrad says it's not likely that she will be on next season. We all knew it was possible, but this is the first time Nasim has commented. I'll miss her, but maybe this is a sign that Kim Kardashian will stop being "famous" soon. *crosses fingers*
  23. What a Girl Wants with Amanda Bynes and Colin Firth Crossroads with Britney Spears, Zoe Saldana and Taryn Manning But the stupid movie I have seen more times than any other... "Not Another Teen Movie." It's just so stupid and I hate all the parody movies that followed it (Date Movie, Epic Movie, etc). But, man, I could watch this 90's-teen rom-com-mashup forever.
