  1. I have to say, Josie is the most unattractive, awkward-looking child. The other Duggar kids are average to above-average looking, but Josie just looks "off." I hope for her sake she grows out of it.
  2. When Ben and Jessa were getting ready for the trip, and talking about the difficulties of parenting two children - she said at one point that she was surprised at how much more work it was to have two, especially close together. Huh? Wasn't Michelle popping one out every year? You would think after being around ALL those kids, ALL the time, this would come as second nature to her. She seems slightly overwhelmed, maybe this is all scripted, but if not maybe they need to realize how much they can handle, kids-wise.
  3. Saw Rachel and Bryan on GMA this morning. Apparently they were stuck in traffic and their segment was shortened because of that. They did a little "newlywed game" thing about how well do you know your partner in which it was revealed that Rachel's celebrity crush is Justin Bieber. Really???
  4. Did I hear this right? Did she actually say "Give it to me" when she saw the ring at the proposal?! I watched this show only sporadically this season, but she came across as desperate last night. I get that you go on the show to find a husband, but her desperation was cringe-worthy. Clearly she wanted Peter and settled for Bryan because he was willing to propose. I give them six months, tops. OMG, that dress she was wearing when she sent Eric home. It was scary! And the second Fantasy Suite was definitely low-budget. Not like the previous luxurious Fantasy Suites from past seasons.
  5. I'm sure that the producers of the show come up with the ideas. i.e., the gender reveal game, Joy making a cheese cake, Jeremy and Jinger at the restaurant. It's not really reality TV. The gender reveal stuff is getting really OLD. I guess I could understand if it was the first grandchild, but to have the entire family troop over like that. The poor kid with the bad case of acne. Jana looked painfully bored. Can she just say NO? Can't Jessa put the baby down in the crib while she combs Spurgeon's hair, prepares his food, etc? I am assuming they have a crib for him. And I also noticed the baby's head bobbing around in that sling. Then she puts him to nap on the couch while she reads the Bible. The whole cheesecake thing was ridiculous. When we make a cheesecake, it is done either the night before or the morning of the day you are going to serve it. Trying to whip that cream cheese when it wasn't room temperature. Good luck with that. You would have thought Austin's mother would have set it out for a while before Joy arrived. I laughed when Austin showed Joy how to slice a baked potato and then squish it together. Has she never eaten a baked potato? That's how it appeared. She called him a "genius." The way Austin's father said that the important thing was that they were "pure" was creepy. When Joy and Austin were talking about courting and Joy said "we should just get married then" I cringed. She is/was SO desperate to get married.
  6. Haven't watched this show in a while and after last night I know why. Why did those girls drag all those kids to the consignment sale? They should have gone in shifts, taken turns. I did not get the impression the store was that far from home. Anna does indeed look like she is sedated or brain damaged. They all have big smiles on their faces when they are talking - who does that? And it appears that Jana has no responsibilities at home at all. I think she was opening up a store or something. What are they doing now that Joy is married? Those lazy boys are no help. What does Michelle do all day? And for that matter, Jim-Bob? Jinger and Jessa are ok. Jill is annoying. Joy seems "off" to me. Josie looks like a brat.
  7. I enjoyed the book and am enjoying the series as well. In the book, the angry sex between Chrystal and Perry is alluded to and I was a little shocked by the graphic sex in episode two. Especially the scene at the end (the phone/tablet sex). I think in the book more is left to your imagination and because it is HBO, they have to make it sexy for good ratings. A nit-pick: The setting is Monterey and it was mentioned having to go to the nearest VA hospital, in Sacramento. There are closer VA hospitals in Palo Alto and San Francisco. Sacramento would be quite a trek.
  8. The interview with Jinger and Jeremy after the wedding. I thought she looked kind of pale and maybe not well. Wonder if a honeymoon baby is already on the way?
  9. Sobbing. Was not expecting this tonight.
  10. Her dress today looked like it was ripped, or in strips or something. Very weird and distracting.
  11. I know I do. She has a mean spirit; Elizabeth was wrong but not like this.
  12. Omarosa is truly vile. On Facebook I saw a post about how she "shut down the ladies of The View." There are something like 170 comments, 99% of them defending Omarosa. Most of them refer to Joy's comment about Trump tax returns, or lack thereof. Comments like, who cares, who wants to see them anyway? And why should he produce his tax returns when Obama never produced a birth certificate! Are you kidding me??!! The ignorance of people is unbelievable. Why did they even put this creature on their show? It is IMPOSSIBLE to have a civil discussion with any of Trump's surrogates. I wish the media would get that, and stop putting people like KAC on the talk shows.
  13. I stopped watching The View during the time Elizabeth H. was on because she irritated me so much. But lately I have started watching again because I hate Trump and I feel like they are kindred spirits. I also watch The Talk (is that ok to say here) but I am losing interest there. On The Talk's Facebook page people say they like that they are not as political there as they are at The View. I say, bring it on!! We need to stick together! I take it Jed is a Trump supporter? I need to read a few pages here and get up to speed ...
  14. Nah, I'm not blaming the boyfriend. I just wasn't that impressed with him either. But maybe he's a nice guy and I really shouldn't judge him by the way he dresses and his taste in decorating. Cracked me up, though, the way the realtor gave him the side-eye when he was exclaiming over the stove, thought it could be cleaned up and would be ok. Realtor was like, no.
  15. I enjoyed reading it too. I can be as snarky as the next person, but I don't get all the hate directed at Ree here. Maybe you all know something I don't? I am sure she has probably done a lot for the town they live in, brought in tourists, etc. I only watch her show and read her blog sporadically. If I disliked her I wouldn't watch/read. I recently read her book about how she and Ladd got together and it was pretty entertaining. Or maybe I am just easily amused. Just don't understand the resentment.
  16. I must be the most shallow person in the world. I HATED all three houses. I think I would be looking for a new boyfriend ...
  17. Sorry to see this go. Thank you for providing it. It has helped me so much over the last couple of months. And I have been consistently impressed with with knowledge and intelligence of the posters here. If there is a resurrection anywhere, I would like to be a part of it.
  18. Yes, me too! Did not know this forum was going away!
  19. I am so disheartened. Don't know what I would do without this board or Rachel Maddow. Tonight on her show she bluntly said that Trump is a liar. I have never seen her so worked up. (LOL - I was a CNN loyalist until my sister-in-law advised me to watch MSNBC.) As I have said so many times before, I have TRIED to like him. Or at least I used to try. It Kacich, Rubio or Jeb had won I would NOT have been happy, but Trump is a sleaze and I sincerely believe that he has a mental disorder. I swear, I think he is losing it! I cannot believe he is going to be our President in two weeks. I see the Obamas getting ready to leave and I weep. I wish I didn't care. Or is it good that I do? As I tell my husband, there is not enough wine in the world to get me through the next four years.
  20. The shooting will probably dominate the news today (as it should). I wonder how and when we are going to hear anything from Trump regarding what he was told at the intelligence meeting today? In my twisted mind, I can't help thinking that this news today (shooting) came at a good time for Trump. It's a distraction.
  21. Thank you! When I see him ending his tweets with "sad" or "so sad" I think -- and this is a grown ass man? Our incoming president? Glad I am not the only one who has noticed this. Another thing. This whole Twitter thing. I am not on Twitter. I don't even personally know anyone who is on Twitter. I read his Twitter comments on the news or here. Does he actually think we ALL have Twitter accounts and that he will be able to communicate with us that way, so he doesn't need to do press conferences? I can't stand it when his surrogates say that Twitter is the "way to communicate now" and we all have to just get with it. Twitter has been around for (I think) most or all of Obama's presidency, and I don't see him tweeting nonsense daily. I am sure the White House has a Twitter account, but undoubtedly it is someone else's job to post daily tweets, NOT the Presidents.
  22. I positively LOVED what Robert Reich said on CNN last night. My jaw actually dropped when he looked at the camera and spoke to Trump. He is my new hero. And I am becoming increasingly infuriated with Anderson Cooper. He just kind of has this blank, semi-sedated expression.
  23. I just wonder If President Obama is watching this and what he is thinking. Everything he worked for is going down the drain. Trump actually said the country has been led the last eight years by people who don't know what they are doing. The election is over, you idiot! Stop insulting our sitting President! I wish so much that Obama would speak up for us! I know that "when they go low we go high" but PLEASE. And stop talking about how you beat Hillary! I hate him soo much.
  24. He's talking now. He is such a boastful, classless ass. He is going on and on and on about how he won "bigly." How all the polls were wrong, the press is a bunch of liars. He actually demeaned AGAIN the anchor who was in tears the night of the election. Get over yourself! Move forward! Talk about HOW the hell you are going to make all these wonderful things happen that you have promised. The whole purpose of this "thank you" gig of his is just to blow his own horn, stroke his ego.
