  1. His memory, like many others, must be short. I remember so clearly, back in late 2019 and then early 2020, Covid was first in the news in Italy, people were literally dying in the streets there. Then it was here, and hospitals were overrun. Portable morgues were installed in hospital parking lots. People were dying by the thousands every day, and there was no cure or vaccine. Remember all the people who had to go on ventilators? Obviously Phil forgets. Some children may have suffered academically because of closed schools, but at least they are ALIVE. And him saying they were the least vulnerable. Guess what Phil, those children could have attended school and been little carriers of the virus home to parents and grandparents. Not to mention the teachers and other adults who had to run the schools! I guess Phil, like some other politicians, feels that they were expendable. Idiots. Phil, your political leanings are shining through. I used to like him when Oprah first introduced him, I even bought his books. He is a charlatan now, similar to Dr. Oz.
  2. The cabin episodes are boring. I guess they are trying to push their program about renovation on the mountain or whatever it is called, which I am also not interested in. I did watch the other night about the couple who were looking for a cabin for their family and LARGE extended families. Michigan, I think. Anyway, they ended up buying a compound, a large house with about 15 cabins. They kept saying, wow, we were just looking to buy a cabin but now we are going to be changing our lives with this compound purchase. They must REALLY like their extended families to buy vacation homes for them. For me, no thank you. LOL I told my husband if they buy that compound I am never watching this show again. Whatever! Why do I even care?
  3. Agree! Also a pet peeve of mine. Pictures of pregnant celebrities on Instagram - they all do this. It's like, look at me! I think if I had walked around like that holding my belly, someone would have surely said, are you all right, is something wrong?
  4. I was watching on Tuesday morning this week and twice Mika asked the guest a question that I was interested in hearing the answer and both times Joe jumped in before there was an answer to ask his own question, never mind hers. I can't imagine she wasn't irritated with him.
  5. So true. I was just talking to my husband about this the other day. I think if you had some guarantee that you would not have to fight in a war and possibly die (which of course I know is impossible), going into the service can be a good thing.
  6. I understand what Joy was trying to say, although she wasn't sugar-coating it at all. I'm sorry, when I was out of high school, there were two choices: Get a job or go to school. My parents would not have allowed me to stay at home doing nothing. I didn't have the luxury of worrying about what might happen out in the world. Most people I knew were in the same situation, we didn't have parents who coddled us, it was about survival and about making a better life for yourself, because the only person who was going to make that happen was you. I have always liked Kamala Harris, I voted for her but I am kind of disappointed in her today and I get this uncomfortable vibe from the table. She seems sort of out of touch.
  7. I know! It was like a button down shirt with a tight brown strapless dress over it. Just weird! And looked so uncomfortable. And I agree with the above comment re Sunny's outfit today! OMG! She looks like some kind of animal or bird or something - and the color blends with her hair, I don't even know how to describe it. Do they have any say in what they wear or are they at the mercy of the stylist?
  8. Interesting that Sunny likes to go out non-stop, every night. Maybe an exaggeration on her part. It comes across as kind of sad/pathetic in a way. It looks like a lot of these outings are without her husband. She admits to being very jealous. I guess he doesn't mind? While on the subject of Sunny, I find her multiple earrings, or whatever they are called, distracting. It's like both ears are full of diamonds. How does she put them on? They look like something you would see in a sci-fi movie.
  9. That's Sara Hegger. She had moved back to the US but has now returned to the Netherlands and will be filming more HHI.
  10. I agree that Ana has changed. There are a lot of comments on her Instagram and also The View's IG that she is being rude to Alyssa. She is becoming disliked. I really liked her when she first came on The View and was happy that they made her a semi-regular. But in the last year or so she has irritated me with her belittling anyone who brings up a topic that doesn't interest her. Don't care about The Bachelor? Fine, keep your mouth shut and listen or don't. She's rude.
  11. She posted on Instagram (with lots of pictures) that she was on vacation in South Africa with her husband. Cruise, safari. Maybe she is just well rested.
  12. It was nice to see a HH not insist on a separate room for guests, until it got to the part where if she did have a guest, they would have to use her bathroom to shower, and that was a problem. Unless she plans to have a steady stream of houseguests, I don't see this as a dealbreaker. I would think a considerate houseguest would not wait until you have gone to bed to decide to take a shower in your room.
  13. I also missed Caroline Kennedy. I remember so well when Neil Diamond was honored and she said the words to "Sweet Caroline" when announcing the names of the honorees. I really liked Dionne Warwick and Billy Crystals' segments. I thought Barry Gibb's was kind of meh. I kept hoping to see John Travolta show up! And the production number just ended so abruptly.
  14. Today Show: Are you purposely trying to get me to stop watching you? The two-year old screaming "Sunday! Sunday!" over. and. over. And then Al Roker having him come back and do it AGAIN during the weather report. Sorry, it's too early in the morning and I haven't had enough coffee to get me through that. Mind you, I like kids. But this show is becoming increasingly ridiculous and seems to be a vehicle to push their latest song, books, etc., etc., etc.
  15. I think Jesse saying we would be "stunned to the core" by the announcement was a little over the top. Watching GMA right now.
  16. Same here! This is the first Bachelor show my husband has watched with me. Now I will probably never get him to watch again.
  17. Wow, I just read the article! What a jerk, and an idiot too for not realizing the truth would come out. Apparently ABC did not do a good enough job vetting him. I don't recall, did he stay in the house he bought with Toni, or did he sell and move to a different lake house?
  18. OMG, Marlo Thomas. She has done so much good for St. Jude's Hospital - but what has she done to her face? I saw her this morning on Today and she looks horrible. She has had so much facial surgery that she is unrecognizable. Her nose - is has a Michael Jackson look about it. Why cannot people just accept aging gracefully, why do they want to ruin their appearance?
  19. You know, like many of you, I watch plenty of CNN and MSNBC. I am exposed to what is going on in the world currently. I welcome a little relief from talking about the news - The View spends a lot of time talking about politics and current events and I like that. But there is nothing wrong with a little light topics here and there. I have a SIL who is not on any social media and only watches British TV programs. She rolls her eyes if you talk about anything else, she knows almost nothing about pop culture - oh and she lets you know it is beneath her. Frankly I find that behavior boring and rude.

    So happy for her!

She (Nicole) has been out for the last few days, there is no explanation. I hope she is ok. I certainly have noticed her coughing lately.
  22. Don't agree. My husband and I are both 73, he is watching the show with me and we talk about it. I really think if something happened to me he would probably want to find someone and that's ok. (After an appropriate time, of course!) He enjoys travel and going out on weekends, spending time together at home. Much nicer when you have someone to do that with. We live in a 55+ community (not the Villages) and there are some very active, vital people here. When women get together they inevitably say if their husband died, they are DONE. I always say it's easy to say that when you are not in that situation. Life can be lonely when you are alone. Yes, you can travel with girlfriends but it's different. Saying old men want a nurse ... well, hey, you may need a little help yourself at some point. It can go both ways.
  23. I feel that if Joan had been able to stay, maybe she would have been chosen at the end. Maybe I am a horrible person, but I still feel there is more to the story than her leaving because her daughter needed her. Is the daughter a single parent, no husband/partner? This would not have lasted forever, I don't know how long they were away from home total. Joan seemed very matter of fact, said that now she was looking forward to getting out there and meeting someone. Maybe she truly didn't really feel "it" for Gerry. It was uncomfortable watching Faith sobbing. She seems so wounded. And the dress - she looked desperate. And - she actually said at one point she didn't want to leave the area where her horse is buried. Really? It's a HORSE.
