  1. I always, always wash underwear, sleepwear and bathing suits before wearing. If I order a bunch of t-shirts and leggings from Land's End, I'll wash them too. Always jeans, because it says on the label to wash before wearing because of color transfer. But if I shop for an outfit for a specific occasion, like a nice dress, I won't wash it. But believe me, if I shopped at thrift stores, I would DEFINITELY wash before wearing. Same with sheets and towels, always wash before using.
  2. Re Meghan's time off, I think it's safe to say that celebrities on TV talk shows are not subject to the same rules as someone in the "regular" working world. It's just the way it is. It's like Julie Chen taking time off The Talk because her husband left the company due to his sexual allegations. I am sure most employers would let you use up your vacation time to get yourself together, but then it would be get back to work or you're fired.
  3. Add me to the other comments about Austin's statement that he understands now why the divorce rate is so high. Wow. I think the bloom is off the rose, at least for him. He has always come across to me as generally annoyed by Joy. I've always heard that doing a home remodel puts a lot of stress and strain on a marriage. And their plan is to continually be buying/remodeling/flipping/moving to the trailer, rinse and repeat? With young children? Yikes.
  4. GMA Day is an unapologetic clone of Live! With Kelly and Ryan. I only saw The Chew once or twice, but it was infinitely better than this show. Too bad they cancelled it for this crap. I liked Sara on The View but won't be watching. Can't stand Michael Strahan. I do not get his appeal AT ALL. I hope the show tanks.
  5. Julie may do the "stand by your man" thing, but in a case like this I think it would hurt her career to stay with him. He sounds like such a leech. She really is is a no-win situation.
  6. I'll be watching the show today. I imagine it's going to be very awkward. I don't see how Julie can stay. Basically Moonves is leaving in disgrace. Not getting exit compensation of $100M! Wow. And I cannot imagine any network would touch him, at least not for a very long time. I will be surprised if there isn't a divorce announcement coming soon.
  7. Well, Melania is a celebrity, and many celebrities and politicians with accents are mocked. I remember when comedians imitated JFK's Boston accent, and Jackie Kennedy's "breathy" voice. It's not a new thing. But speaking of Melania's accent, she has been in this country for 22 years and I assume spoke English before she arrived. I am surprised that her accent is still so thick.
  8. The show with Abby on it is now cringe-worthy. It appears to me that Joy can barely contain her disgust. The tension at that table is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
  9. A vow renewal after five years? That seems a little much. And those were full-on wedding gowns she was trying on. Even if UP is paying for the dress, or if Miss Renee is giving the dress in exchange for the free tv advertising, it just seems silly to me. Maybe I am just too practical, but I would not spend thousands of dollars on a dress for a five year "renewal" even if someone else was paying for it. A fantastic vacation, "second honeymoon?" YES. But maybe they will be getting that also. Zach's jeans looked so weird. They were so tight, and not in a good way. When he dropped the cookie on the floor and tried to clean it up, he looked goofy. I was actually embarrassed for him, the way he looked in those jeans.
  10. Abby: My dad this, my dad that. We get it. Drop it, it's already getting old. Loved it that at one point during a heated debate, Joy said to Abby, "Do you understand?" I think that Joy can't stand Abby and is having a hard time disguising it. I wonder if Joy is thinking this might be her last season. Not sure she is enjoying it anymore. When MM comes back, it may be just too much for her. Would not blame her.
  11. I can't imagine what it will cost to heat and cool that place.
  12. 9,000 sq feet! Are you kidding me? The place looked creepy! You could have two or three families living there. Josiah said JB was going to put some furniture in, to "stage it." That I have to see.
  13. I predict Abby won't last long. She doesn't have that spark or whatever. Joy looked angry at the beginning, I think she is NOT happy. They all put Abby down with the Kaepernick discussion, rightly so. I think we are in very troubled times right now, worse than anything I have seen in my 60+ years. I believe that Joy, Whoopi and Sunny know it too. They've gotten past just laughing at trump now - they are worried. They don't want to hear trump apologists anymore. This isn't like when Bush was president, or any other Republican, where we could talk, discuss, but knew that our President loved the country, in spite of whatever decisions they made that we didn't agree with. No more. Whoopi looked better than I have ever seen her. I agree that Sunny's hair is too long. Joy looked depressed.
  14. Was Joy one of the girls molested by brother Josh? I can't remember. I do feel sorry for her. What a contrast between her life and Jinger's. I wonder if there is any envy on her part.
  15. Wait - they don't get PAID?! Why are they doing it then? That's crazy, unless they are just famewhores.
  16. Ontario to UK - The wife was extremely irritating. I agree, it was weird how she kept talking about how they hadn't lived together, didn't know each others' quirks and habits ... BUT the most irritating thing I found was her wanting a room for guests. Sure, if you have the money to do that, it's great, but they were on such a limited budget, i.e., he pointed out that they couldn't afford a car. The flat over the pub - can you imagine the smells, the noise, the possible rodent problem? And there was no separate entrance, so they would have to schlep groceries, etc. through the pub to get to their place. The decor was also weird, it DID look like a daycare.
  17. You're right, it's symmetrical faces that are supposed to be most attractive. (Duh) I think Jennifer Aniston has a symmetrical face. It's funny how certain features can either be an attraction or a turn-off.
  18. I've read studies that show that we are automatically attracted to asymmetrical faces. Figures. The left side of my face is slightly higher than the right. Not noticeable, but I think that is why we have a "good side" for photos. Interesting!
  19. The "to do" list is funny. "Dishes?" - who needs to put dishes on a to-do list? I mean, don't you wash them as you use them, like after the meal? I can't imagine in an RV you would have much space to let dirty dishes pile up. Is that going to be their life now? They build a house, move in, sell it, then move back into the RV and start the cycle again? There is no way I would want to live that way, especially with a baby. I guess they can't afford to have a permanent home while doing the house-flipping thing. Apparently JimBob did not do a proper job of vetting his future son-in-law, as to whether he could adequately support a family.
  20. Did anyone else think that Lauren's father looks a lot like JimBob? They could almost be brothers. And another thing, he had man boobs. He looked like he needed a bra in a couple of scenes. I probably shouldn't say this, but when Lauren smiles her gums show. A lot. It really bugs me. I've seen other people like that and I just think it's so unattractive. It's too bad because she is kind of cute otherwise.
  21. I wondered the same thing, especially when Jana did the talking head with her. Do you think possibly Jana and Laura are "more than friends?" Although I know the Duggars would NEVER accept a lesbian relationship under their roof. I just find it odd. Also it is starting to be very apparent that Jana's siblings are all getting married, having babies, and she is not. I think there is something more than her being picky. Anyone else?
  22. I am pretty sure I heard her say it was Austin's mother who did the calendar for him. And he said something about it too - I already deleted it off my DVR but that's what I heard.
  23. Oops, duh, I meant Kendra (the one who giggles all the time).
  24. Did anyone notice when the camera panned to Joy's feet when she was using that big saw? She was wearing open-toed sandals! Are you kidding me?! Anyone with half a brain would know better. And what in the hell was Austin using to remove her splinter?! That "babymoon." She was heavily pregnant, in a frozen lake, no life jacket in a small boat. Fishing. She was clearly freezing but trying to be a good sport. I felt so sorry for her. And so the plan is they are going to constantly be flipping houses and moving. In other words, they will be constantly be living in a construction zone with (no doubt) babies. Ugh, no. I don't have a good feeling about Austin.
