  1. Radar is super unreliable and have been caught publishing completely made up stories in the past. I'll wait for another gossip rag reports it or when rumors hit The Wrap or Deadline. And the article doesn't even make sense. 1) Peter Pan was three hours long, how in the world would KLG's musical air in prime time and 2) they did air her horrible musical on the Today show which NBC rightly corrected Radar. That story smells like it's made up and Radar is hoping people will fall for it because KLG is on one of her month long vacations.
  2. I have personally seen people say that Kerry Washington is a not so good actress, it's the sentiment that she's taking the place of (usually) more "deserving" white actresses that's annoying. IMO there have been plenty of mediocre, and sometimes bad, actors and actresses that have been nominated for Emmys over the years and they didn't get half the criticism KW got for being nominated. I mean, shit, if Mariska Hargitay, who has never impressed me, can win an Emmy, Kerry Washington can get nominated for her bizarre teeth acting.
  3. Tonight's classic will probably be the only non-Lorne years episode we'll get (and should put to rest some of the speculation that Broadway Video doesn't have the rights to broadcast the non-Lorne years).
  4. I agree, I don't think any of those four are particularly adept during the third hour. They could all be dumped and kept in their primary roles at Today and/or MSNBC for my part. I was thinking one solution could be if they insist on keeping Hoda in KLG/fourth hour hell, why not also give her the third hour. Make Hoda the moderator of the third hour and find some folks that she can build a rapport and chemistry with, it couldn't be any worse than what they're doing now.
  5. From the Daily Beast: What's With Tamron, Willie, Al, and Natalie? The Tense Mess of 'Today's' Third Hour I don't hate Today's Take, but yeah, it wouldn't hurt if the hour was either revamped or made to resemble the first two hours of Today. Hour three is strange and is most likely not working with most viewers. And anyway, why are the powers that be at Today so afraid of making any sort of change to the show? They aren't going to get back the ratings crown if they keep on doing what they're doing.
  6. It looks like the show figured out that the guy who plays Ian isn't capable of anything more complex than acting vaguely flirtatious and horny so they're focusing on the hypersexualialty aspect of Ian's bipolar disorder. His acting is so painful, who's idea was it to give one of the worst actors on the show such a complex story arc? He's really lucky old dude who plays Mickey is his main acting partner. I really enjoyed the premiere. I'm intrigued by all the characters for the most part, including Sammi and her daddy issues, and I'm looking forward to rest of the season. Though, I could take or leave Jimmy's return, but I'm willing to see how that plays out.
  7. CNN would probably say that they aired Bourdain to give their staff a bit of a day off, but from what I've seen around, Bourdain is, or is one of, CNN's highest rated shows ever. I think if CNN could get away with it, they would air their documentaries (the Roger Ebert movie just scored huge in the ratings) and original shows non-stop.
  8. If there was ever proof that NBC shouldn't have fired that exec that wanted to drastically change the Today Show, Today! The Musical is it. The musical was like something threw together to show at a holiday party and then decided to air on national tv.
  9. The Comeback isn't being illegally downloaded 8 million times, and Game of Thrones is a "traditional" ratings hit on top of everything else. HBO has a good idea how many people are watching the show, we'll see if they're happy with the numbers if the show gets picked up for next year. I don't think The Comeback needs a season three anyway. What format would it be? Valerie inviting a camera crew to document her professional life would be a step backward after she finally put things into perspective and I don't think I want a straight, more conventional comedy-drama about Valerie Cherish and her life. Val is successful and has her husband back, Mickey is most likely going to live and (presumably) Jane has been kicked to the curve. I'm good.
  10. Last night's episode was hard to watch, the ones where the mom survives and her kids die always are. Kristy recalling her final moments with her kids will haunt me for a long while.
  11. I don't think Whoopi and Rosie O feud will ever blow up on air. IMO Whoopi can't be arsed to muster up the energy to get too emotional and Rosie doesn't want to appear unhinged like she did her first time around on the View. I really wish Sunny Hostin got the slot over Rosie Perez or that Nicolle person. I know Sunny was perceived as Sherri wannabe for some reason, but I can't see Sunny tolerating the victim blaming, powerful man water carrying bullshit that Whoopi engages in. Unless the show said not to engage Whoopi too much, then whatever.
  12. I hate the reenactments, too. Why are they necessary? The survivors' words are vivid and powerful enough with out seeing snippets of faceless actors being fake tortured. That's something I hope they rethink if there's another season of this.
  13. Is Paula insane? Unless she is the best actor ever, I think there's something wrong with her.
  14. I can't imagine Candy on Fox News, land of interchangeable blonde anchors and talking heads and leg cams, unless they just want to grab someone that's been on CNN for decades. Remember the complete makeover Fox gave Greta Van Sustren before her FNC show premiered?
  15. I don't understand why Oprah thought anyone would want to watch a rich woman get her home renovated. Iyanla is only a draw when she's spouting nonsense and screaming about PENIS.
  16. Candy Crowley is leaving CNN after 27 years with the network. Good luck to her in her future endeavors but that time she sympathized with rapists wasn't a good look.
  17. Minnie Driver and the woman that played "kid" Wendy looked damn near the same age.
  18. I think Mickey said Seeing Red is not the Rockford Files because he thinks the Rockford Files is a better and classier production and show than Seeing Red will be. I would have to agree with that, I'd rather watch Rockford than a show about a never-was, drug addicted writer fantasizing about violating and killing some washed up actress. And I may be projecting, but I think there was a larger point being made by the show that "prestige" cable shows aren't automatically better than anything else on tv, including 35 year old procedurals.
  19. TMZ can be wrong, and when they're wrong, they're really wrong. Of course, they've been right quite a bit too. I'm holding out on believing Rosie O will quit before the end of the season, and I never believed she was going to last more than a season before the rumors started. I can see ABC trying to pretend everything is peachy on set and let Rosie claim that she was only ever going to do one season when May or June roll around. Rosie's time on the View has come and gone imo, I don't get why they hired her again. With that said, why are they hanging on to Whoopi? I understand that less than them rehiring Rosie O'Donnell.
  20. Brooke gave birth to Jamie in late 1990-1991, had the ectopic pregnancy in or around 1993 and met Laura 2 in or around 1995. Not 100% sure about the dates, but I know Brooke had Jamie before she had the ectopic pregnancy and knew Laura 2 existed.
  21. The Hollywood Reporter's take on Jamie Horowitz's firing Those changes don't sound too bad to me, though I think the show's problems are bigger than who's anchoring when. I think Tamron is polarizing from what I've seen. I know she doesn't bother me that much.
  22. The Queen Latifah Show has been canceled No surprise there. I watched a little bit the other day and they did a lame skit about people still using dial up. Jokes about dial up being slow are about as old and stale as dial up itself. The show was boring, it had nothing new to say and Latifah refused to even allude to the elephant in the room, it's shocking this shit was even picked up.
  23. I don't think I could single out Arthur for Daily Double hunting and board jumping these past two weeks, contestants have done it during the entire Tournament. Julia's and Arthur's were silly imo. Julia's I can understand, she's trailing by quite a bit, but Arthur was in good position. Oh well. Arthur still in it, and Julia better hope the other guys crash and burn but I doubt that will happen.
  24. Jamie Horowitz's plan to fire Savannah, Natalie and Willie, and eventually replace Matt with Josh Elliott, led to Horowitz's firing If Horowitz's ideas were good, why fire him? It sounds like NBC liked his vision outside of plans for the mass firings and asking producers which anchors should go, but why couldn't they come up with some compromises?
  25. Today doesn't seem to know how to get back on track, and firing Willie, Natalie, or even Tamron will accomplish little. Unless they find personalities that are stronger and more compelling than the ones they got (besides Hoda), I think they're going to remain in second place.
