  1. What I would say about Floyd's situation is that even if the husband agreed to an open marriage they should have had ground rules. I am sure he would not have expected the wife to be with someone in their shared work place that he works closely with. 🙄
  2. Maybe they are just trying to depict real life ? As someone who has worked in a hospital I can tell you that you might see several of those exact relationships. It might have been better if they didn't try to explore that all with main characters but I don't know what the budget is or what the premise of the show is because on some of them the cast just gets too big and is too many characters to keep up with. It may have been better if they tried to explore those relationships with more minor characters , but the fact that they decided to include them at all doesn't necessarily bother me. It's interesting to me that you didn't also touch on the disabled doctor , or how Casey is presented very differently now in terms of his outward appearance . I think the theme was to show more tolerance and acceptance of people in how they show up but I can understand why you may feel that it was too much all at once. For me it is not so much that they are doing those stories is that they are not doing any of them well. Edited to add that I agree with the person who stated I hate the shows where everyone has to date each other within a small group....and everybody is ok with that. Almost as much as I side eye shows with inter racial or inter faith relationships where NO ONE in their lives address it in any way, positive or negative....
  3. Again beginning and end. Had to turn it off when Helen could not make a sandwich and at the end you have all filled in the blanks. Not that I care, but did the husband confirm he did not know he was in an open relationship? Floyd and Iggy are such weak links. Not really a fan of Max and Helen. They have written her to be as inconsistent and all over the place as he is. I don't mind writing the Max character as if he has compassion etc but as a strong capable man instead of an all over the place people pleaser. Helen came in as a sought after celebrity physician and is now a high school girl with a crush. Love Freema but.mmm
  4. two weeks in a row I had no interest in even hate watching. Thanks for the recaps.
  5. This is funny because I was the same! I saw the beginning when he was acting like a child when everyone was rushing up to her and I just couldn't! Came here to get a recap. At this point I fail to see how anyone could "ship" Max with any woman. He comes across as a confused puppy dog with manic energy and that is ruining the show. Add to I am not interested in Floyd, Iggy or Bloom, and yeah.....
  6. Well, I skipped through the episode until the very end and I am "catching up" in the comments. I turned the Good Doctor off after they let Nicholas and Chuku go...so this will be easy to give up as well if needed. So far this season is everything that is wrong with the show..
  7. Was Nova's girlfriend pregnant? Also if she is an undercover would the girlfriend have been able to keep the business? I honestly remember it as him being the one who wanted to stay married pregnant or not and she came around after she got pregnant. Either way it smacks of the old church women who are best friends and as soon as one dies they move in on the grieving husband. If Olivia had not been friendly with Kathy this would be easier to understand. As I have said before there will end up being a letter from Kathy giving her blessing and thanking Olivia for giving her more years with Elliott at this rate.
  8. Sorry, I did not realize there had been a part of this episode on SVU. Did something happen on SVU that was tied to this case? I believe there is no way that the head guy does not know his top lieutenant is gay. Someone like that would know everything, and if Stabler was able to find out so quickly then he would be able to. I am also not loving his wife taking an interest in Stabler, and trying to figure out where the girl in the diner is going to pop up in this whole thing. First it was the friend's mother with the tea, now the wife that has all this "intuition." Also agree with how absurd it is that Stabler is undercover with just a beard after being involved in the Wheatley case. It was clear that Wheatley was tracking him and there is no reason to believe he would not still be, and no one ever said anything about the setup he had where he had cameras all over town! I hate when shows are not consistent about these things. I laughed at the "accurate" Harlequin Romance. I guess I fail to understand the fandom! So there are people, who are probably mostly women, actively hoping that some man preferred his colleague over his wife who was at home raising their kids primarily on her own while he went undercover, etc.? And they had a LOT of children! And that he was probably not 100 percent present in his marital relationship because he was lusting over his coworker? Then what, he stays with his wife out of obligation and she tanks every relationship she ever had because he was "the one." Nah, nothing romantic about that for me. was way more invested in her getting back together with Cassidy because I was watching way back then and hated the way he and the female detective were let go. But of course, they had to ruin his character to remain aligned with their "ship" fans. I don't respect writers who cave to the fans....
  9. Listen, now that they are bringing my original back I could not be happier. I agree, this is already a better show than SVU, but that is not saying much. It has the potential to be much better if they would focus on IT and not the Olivia and Stabler connection, or the home life of the detectives. Again, other than the mentions about Jack's daddy issues, Lenny's drinking in the past, and Ray's faith, we did not know a ton about the original characters. We found out more about Anita in the episode where she shot the young boy, Mike when he was dealing with the pedophile priest, but it wasn't until much later we even realized the extent of Green's gambling. Still, none of those things dominated like Olivia's family issues and numerous assaults on SVU and now Stabler's personal issues here. I am sorry, but I would have liked to see a man who was with a woman from teens or early adulthood mourn her more, see more flashbacks of their life and how she contributed to who he was than the Olivia drama. Poor Kathy is being treated like a duty or obligation, when she was trying to move on with her life when they broke up, and HE was the one that wanted to get back together... I do not mind Bell having a wife, but the story with her nephew just seems shoe horned in and I have no interest in seeing her being used as a political pawn. Side note...I loved her jacket and I am still thirsting over the jackets that Dylan wore last season...
  10. Well I have been doing this too long bc I knew he was gay when he asked Stabler to bury the body and I guessed about Nova. I do not need Benson on this show. I like this case and cast of characters. The are also showing how "Eddie's" friend is getting jealous of him and will end up following him or something. Stabler' s mom is going to be how they find out about him. Bell will suss out MT . Not sure how I feel about Bell and Nova. Like the hacker but I would like to see a strong team. Is it me or are they showing CM s backside more?
  11. I am glad Wheatley is in the background. Cannot wait to see where the new story goes. Could care less about Bell's wife but always happy to see Mykel T! At this point there will be a letter or something with his wife giving them her blessing saying she knew all along. That is what makes it especially icky toh me that she trusted them both. Wasn't Liv with her when she had a child? This was always a show that should be showing that a man and woman can work together and care for each other in a non sexual way. But ugh.
  12. I don't know where to start. Hopefully soon they will realize that no one is interested in Floyd, Iggy or Bloom to a lesser extent. In what professional environment would it be o.k. to announce your love interest like that, and they remain under your supervision? It is the clear absurdity of it that gets me. I am also tired of the "gruff" person barking orders to the newbies like they are in boot camp, scenario that they try to build into shows like this. Time to show that you can train, teach/inspire people without yelling at them and humiliating. Bloom used to be my least favorite character until I started paying attention to Iggy... Why are we discussing our love lives in the OR...just why? Have they telegraphed it any more that husband will figure out what is going on when he hears his wife listening to one of Floyd's playlists? Ugh....no one in that storyline remotely interesting. Floyd has always been a no where character to me, and with his mommy issues, uh no. Remember when he hired three women, have we ever seen them again? As usual, I forward through Iggy scenes but I am sure whatever he was doing was ridiculous. He is a waste of time on this show. Max and Helen.....hmmm, so if after intimacy the first response is "I should never have let you in" I don't think that is a positive sign. This is such an unnecessary storyline. Why they thought it was a good idea to finally have them get together only to cause angst mere moments later! Personally they write Max so erratically that I cannot really support a relationship between them because I constantly think she can do better. He is not that attractive and his life is a mess. They are trying to go for genius with a good heart, but it comes across as a person with no direction that can't complete anything. Regardless of what reason they don't go, it is always going to be her putting his needs first and she did that before they were in a relationship. At this point I wish they would have Max realize that he has ADHD and get on medication or go to therapy. In fact, did they ever show him seeking therapy? I really hope Freema is leaving after this because she is the only reason I watched the show from the start. Did I miss anyone? P.S....how crazy to use MINA as a reason they could not get together? And how they acknowledge COVID, but not COVID accommodations. Most conferences have been offering an online option to attend remotely.
  13. Entitled to your opinion, and you are ASSUMING that I was solely talking about the MR situation...it is easy to judge other people behind a keyboard and I know I am guilty of that myself... I am learning to be "Kinder and gentler" person...
  14. That sitcom will get canceled and the problem will be solved. As usual a horrible remake of a good British show...like when they tried to recreate Coupling....and no, I did not like the US The Office Remake either....
  15. Although I think it is icky the way people are campaigning for Levar I don't blame him or think he deserves hate for it or for actively disclosing he is interested. You don't know if you don't try. I don't think of it as something to joke about. If MR was that involved it may also explain why he was not contacted since he had expressed interest when Alex floated retirement. At this point he should distance him self. People are getting worked up talking abt a diversity hire etc. Unfortunately he or any other POC will face a lot of hate. I wonder if he would have grown into it if they had just had him or someone else ready to jump in when Alex passed? Since Alex had already talked about retirement before he disclosed an illness that would have been the smart thing to do.
  16. Again, if this is what people want to spend energy one, so be it. I have a right to not understand it, just as they have the right to do it. If a television show is at the top priority of what is affecting our lives, especially right now, then that says a lot. I watch, eat, participate in a lot of things thinking about how tainted it is, whether because it has a racist history or a leader that is, sexist, etc. and is in charge of it or has profited from it or because it is perpetuating racist, sexist, class, or gender stereotypes and bias. I have found not watching, letting my feelings be known, , etc. to give me personal peace if it bothers me, but it doesn't have to take up my energy by continually thinking about it or letting it consume me. Also, it is interesting because people are very selective about who they can forgive. So I guess what you are saying is ignorance is bliss because if we all start digging into the ethics and beliefs of the people who produce, create, write, manufacture our food and all our goods then I think we will be very disappointed in a lot of things that "bring us joy." For many unearthed reasons Mike Richards should not be host. Now he is not. I just wonder why people can't take a victory and move on? That's my point, not about people's "joy' being affected by watching it and thinking what a terrible person he is. For some people they are now actively waiting to find out who is in contention so that they can go through their history and hold them to a standard, or on a mission to find everything he as done wrong. And in general you will find that there are probably millions of people who don't constantly read the news or social media, (especially particular sites) who were unaware of this whole issue and would have continued to watch and have joy. Not specific to this issue ,but we have to stop believing that what is reflected in the news and social media reflects the views of the majority of people. It is just a reflection of people who are vocal in those mediums and that is all it is.
  17. I am continually amazed at people who hold those in entertainment (known for people pretending to be something they are not) to a higher standard than those who are making actual decisions about our lives. Nothing any of these people do would surprise me. I can admire their craft and artistry without admiring them as a person. We all need to learn to make the separation. Do I think Mike Richards and whomever else went about this the wrong way? Absolutely. But I think we all need to be really careful about living in a glass house devoting so much energy to getting worked up to people who don't affect our lives.
  18. This is too much. I just want to enjoy the show, which seems to be a pipe dream now. No matter who they choose someone is going to have an issue. They should have just decided and announced it, period without having these "guest" hosts. Poor planning. They knew Alex was sick for months, so there should have already been a host in waiting as awful as that sounds. I have not bothered to read all the "evidence" of how terrible a person he is, but you know, these days I am finding that a LOT of people are doing or have done something that I have an issue with. Where does it end? I just want the "process' to be over. As for Levar, I hope he graciously declines if any offer is put forth. Do I think he would have gotten better? Absolutely, but everyone would have if given the time to do so. Do I think he will ever be accepted in this role now? No way. Now that everyone is mad about the attention he has gotten. He should have known if they did not reach out to him after he'd made it clear he was interested when Alex was alive that he was not on their radar. Mayim is fine, most of them were fine. The longer they dither with this it looks bad for the show. On another note, I am sick of people having these crazy things on Twitter, Podcast, whatever and the faux apologies. Own it, and more important if indeed it no longer reflects who you are...DELETE it.
  19. The mistake they made was having viewers think that they had some sort of say in it. It was never my understanding , regardless of what they said that the public was going to choose, and for the most part I have enjoyed watching other people fulfill what was probably a dream to be on the show. I've said many times this was not a try out for all, because some of them clearly are way too busy already to add Jeopardy. If I had the chance to do it as a fan- as I am sure many of them were- I probably would have too. Levar could have read the room...if he contacted them when there was just talk Alex' retiring to let them know he was interested and they did not reach out to him about guest hosting when Alex passed away ( until a fan push) then he was never in contention. Really I don't many of the latter people were. I am fine with not having a say in who they chose. Whomever chosen was bound to have said or done something that someone didn't like, or they wouldn't like the way they speak or how they dress. Alex was always going to be a tough act to follow. Regarding MR specifically nothing I have read is conclusive evidence that he has done anything wrong....BUT...it is not my job to judge him. He is competent at the job and hopefully will grow more into it. Although I liked Alex as a host, I did not know him personally. It is very possible he may have said, done or believed something that I did not approve of , but again, my job was to enjoy him on the show. Alex worked with (or for? )Mike in some capacity and obviously didn't have a problem with that. I am sure he could have found or was aware of the same information people are upset about now. I'd like to think that if he had such an impact that TPTB would never appoint someone that they felt Alex would have conflict with. Jeopardy for me is more than the host, There would have to be a very serious crime that I would think would warrant disqualifying someone. It should be noted that some current and former employees have supported him. Barring video/audio evidence, I always say no one really knows what happened. A giggle, a bad dress, bad hair, or "diction," did not stop some of these people from being good or showing potential. Sorry to see some of you go over this decision, but I understand. We shall truly miss you.
  20. Great. Glad the speculation is over and I think both of them did well during their hosting time. I was going to watch regardless.
  21. The worst part of this show is the relationship between the co workers... and of course she is made to appear cold and heartless towards him...
  22. Maddie is the worst part of this show......and I will miss J Edgar in the spinoff. I also came to love the rest of the squad. I would love to see him and ( can't remember her name from NYPD Blue) the female detective in their new squad. I would have loved to see if he got back on track and started dating the other detective...
  23. Me too, with Mayim being third, but no one was totally horrible in my opinion given the fact that some were just doing it because it was an honor or dream, and others just needed more time to get comfortable. I think he would be the best choice for a lot of reasons
  24. That was Alex's pick so apparently he thought she was qualified
  25. I think they have always known who it would be and these were not try outs. If so it would not be fair to give some six weeks, others two weeks and then one. The ones coming at the end with one week and towards summer vacation would for sure have more to overcome. Sorry for Levar as he really wants it and does not have other jobs like some. There is no way some of them wanted this full time. Was Alex serious when he said Laura Coates?
