Absolutely this! Many people who have been on these shows say this all the time. Frequently people are shown giving a response to something that they actually did not give a response to, rather a different question! They create "characters" from contestants on reality shows all the time....Jaimie is the odd quirky one, Dawn is the remote one, Shota is the "cute" one, Maria is the "feisty" one, insert name....is the "humble" one, etc. etc. They do it all the time.
-
We all have our things, but in Maria's defense a lot of minority people become so accustomed to jokes and stereotypes that they start to make them about themselves as a protection, sort of let me say it about myself so you won't say or think it....and some others have become so accustomed to being made to feel ashamed of their heritage that they want to remind people of it all the time because they have spent years trying NOT to talk about it. Don't know if either of those is Maria's issue, she may just be annoying, but I feel the same way about people who talk about their kids or spouse all the time. I think she does it because she is uncomfortable.

Line of Duty! The Brits do it better! -
I thought they teased a time jump? My guess is Helen goes back home with the niece or somewhere connected to her beads and Max follows. Don't know how that will affect the Luna situation because the in laws will lose their minds. If it ends with him just making contact with her and no dialogue next year it will all be just a dream, haha

I realized I am officially hate watching at this point. I only watched for Freema as a fan of her, but it is rough going.

My guess is the original plan was for them to be done but they were still shooting when it premiered and the response to Wheatley was favorable enough they thought to keep them around. I heard they might move them to the new show. I assumed they were changing him based upon info Bekhar gave them more than Angela. I am not clear on what they had other than hearsay to charge anyone but Bekhar for that. All Angela admitted to was having a conversation about wanting revenge. If you can go to jail for that I am in trouble. If money changed hands as payment for the job.... I had more of an issue with something still being in the house especially the wine cage. Didn't the police search the house and they knew that is where he kept everything 🙄 -
Love this show!

Georgia was such a bland and forgettable character that I can't remember much about her. Unfortunately they made the mistake of thinking that the audience who didn't care about her would care about her parents..... Also, Helen's niece does not need to return next year.
-
Mayim may be my favorite yet, including past contestants.

So moving forward why would Max ever be able to trust that they are not poisoning her against him when they visit or have her? If next week is the last episode this season we can safely assume something will stop Max from getting to Helen.. ugh No one cares about Reynolds and his faux triangle. I didn't miss him when he was gone and think what Bloom said to him was accurate. Where is this chemistry they speak of? Really don't care abt Bloom 's home life although I like Leyla and just hope she does not unrealistically start working at the hospital next year. Iggy..also don't care. I knew something was up with Lentil soup but then it was followed by 9th and 11th so yeah. I also felt the brother story was fake because he had not mentioned it before when talking about food struggles I did like that Chance was not redeemed. Only way grand parents get any sympathy is if she had removed her thinking she was in immediate danger. I guess she thought all doctors and nurses with children she have stopped working ďuring the pandemic? Also not her business if her daughter felt second best and chose to stay. Was it ever clarified if he asked or they offered to keep her at that time? Why do it only to use it against him later? I h I hope this story is over. Didn't Max say in an episode he felt like the wife was out of his league or something?

Curious about the bread crumbs too. He all but telegraphed in the car something was wrong or that he was going to kill her. She should have aborted some way then. Also, I would have tried to scratch him or something to get his DNA and identify my killer. Interesting that Angela wanted to Richard and not her kids... -

It always amuses me when people think that the majority are always the people who are vocal. My guess is of the millions who watch these shows, only a small percentage comment on social media, etc. and most really don't care one way or the other. I have many friends that are just as devoted to Law and Order as I am, including my dad, who have never given one thought to Benson and Stabler. In fact, my dad thinks that fans should not try to tell creators what to create... -

So who is it? Angela has a yet to be identified love interest! She was on the phone with someone talking about an expensive liquor when Richard was lurking in her apartment! I think this was a plan to bring him down so she could take over.....it didn't start that way but she saw her opportunity. My only guess now that Bekhar is gone is that she and the new wife are involved and have been plotting together?? Who else could it be? -

I couldn't figure that out either, but then I started thinking that maybe her lipstick was some type of transmitter that she had activated? -
Happens to me all the time! I ordered Gregory's cookbook and I will be disappointed if I don't have pictures!
-
This is a good question and also a reason that I do not like cookbooks without pictures.
-
I meant time wise for production costs, insurance, etc. I would imagine it would have been a lot more costly....additionally isn't that pretty much what their new show is about, home cooks...minus the trying a new recipe...or is that incorporated into the show.

Too late they already said it will be either 3 six or eight episode arcs focusing on the same story.....I agree with you, but in reality I think realistically it would be harder to solve Organized Crime cases in one episode.... -
I was unsure about Chris at first, and thought he was going to go long ago. I made a comment about him thinking he was a better chef than he was. I personally think he was ready to go. Imagine how much his ego took a hit week after week being criticized, including I think on some of the Quick Fires. Sometimes you can only take so much. It seemed to me that he was not really "present" in the competition. I said long ago, I just did not feel he had as good a grasp on his food identity as some of the other chefs, regardless of what they are trained to do. I also didn't know about Dawn but she actually seems to be one of the chefs who has a very quiet command her her identity as a chef and the food she wants to put out. I don't need the chefs to have a tv personality...I just need them to cook food that looks professionally done and is interesting. If Sarah is that good she will cook her way back and possibly win. They are all going to go at some point except the winner, so I don't know that it matters that much except for if they are paid xxx amount per episode. Many of the chefs who were not top 3 or top 4 have gone on to have really successful careers and amazing opportunities. Sometimes those who are eliminated in a "controversial" way, benefit more because of that because they get more attention. I did not find her dishes to be wow inspiring, and some just didn't look appetizing.

It is not clear to me if Wheatley suspected that Bekhar was working with the police, or if he killed him for the reason that he said, which was that he did not want him to be able to hold it over them that Ritchie had killed someone... -
COVID....they were filming this during COVID and very strict protocols. Also if trained professionals had trouble, imagine home cooks when you think about time wise. It would be different if they were trying dishes that were already tested

What gets me is they talked about how much of pro and bad a Bekhar was and he didn't see it coming? Or get off a gun draw or knife throw? Wheatley said he had been in contact with the other guys for months....even supposedly before all these issues, so if he was so good he had no clue? Also in that community (I am assuming people who do a certain type of work know other people who do it) no one would have hinted that Wheatley was shopping for different security? I will say this....Wheatley had a point about getting rid of him so he could not hold it against him....or end up blabbing to the Feds. Look at all the enforcers who turned on the mob and started naming names about bodies that were dropped. I have no idea where they are going with the Angela and Stabler thing. I actually wish they had not compromised her and given him a relationship, even if it will not last in the end due to OLIVIA....... The other mobsters that his father had been working with before his death. One of them had been Gina's boyfriend before Ritchie. He suggested the UC that was working with Stabler to Wheatley and they were all supposed to do a deal. I got busy and missed the very beginning and parts of the middle, but I am pretty sure that is who you are referring to. -

Unfortunately I don't think they know when to quit, so I don't know when it will be over. As much as I loved Law and Order I expected to like the Chicago shows and I didn't. Don't watch. I hate watch FBI, but have not even started the FBI spin off. When ou think about it, other than the Claire/Jack relationship which was largely off screen, we did not have a lot of "relationships" in Law and Order and that suited me just fine. But I don't care for romance in my Legal/cop shows, or action adventure movies....just unnecessary to me.... -
S01.E07: Everybody Takes A Beating Sometime
catrice2 replied to WendyCR72's topic in Law & Order: Organized Crime
Why? Just why? The thing that always bothered me about that whole "relationship," is that it is just too easy and lazy writing for the man, or woman, to fall for the person at work. Stabler had several happy years with Kathy and they built a family. Instead of keeping him true to the narrative of a good faithful man who married his childhood sweetheart, they have to take the easy route of him having feelings for his younger partner because they are "soulmates." Both are screwed up in their own ways, but honestly, who would be good enough for Olivia at this point? They have made her so unlikeable. The writing for that character and the portrayal of her is what made me stopped watching a Law and Order franchise, and I am a faithful fan who not only watched L&O: LA, but the UK version! SVU just became insufferable....that and the way they wrote the Danny Pino character.... Now I can't have a good Stabler drama that is Olivia free......why???? As for the rest, I can stretch my imagination but what would be the point of talking to Ritchie where his family could hear instead of bringing him to a room....is it realistic they all would be detained together where they could talk to each other? At this point surely Angela would have to go into witness protection? My guess is her long game is to take over his business. Not a fan of the campiness they are giving the Richard character.
