  1. I’m still confused about when Speed Force Nora showed up and why. Was it last season? Was it cut short when they had to shut down and lose some episodes? Am I just forgetting because it was awhile before the show came back? That T-Rex didn’t seem to do much other than terrorize people. Otherwise pretty good episode
  2. So far I’m liking this. I love genealogy and family history
  3. I find I have no favorites this season. I mildly like some people, but not much more than that, at least so far
  4. If I recall correctly, Blue Bloods decided to move past the pandemic, so it’s set “present day” but really some nebulous time in the near future when the pandemic has abated. I believe this was explained in the premiere
  5. S2E09: Abigail the Incredible Abigail the century-old Galapagos tortoise undergoes surgery. 04/03/21
  6. The governor sandbagged Frank with the unexpected changes to the policy bill, but Frank probably should have waited to make his overture until seeing the final text
  7. Frank asks Erin to liaise between him and NY Governor Mendez regarding policy reform he can't publicly support, because it goes against police rank and file. Danny and Baez become enmeshed in the world of competitive gaming, and Eddie and Witten suspect a live-in nanny is being abused.
  8. A Roku or something similar may allow you to stream on your TV if it's not too old
  9. Though they are clearly trying to properly represent the Afghan and Muslim experience, especially with Afghan writers and producers, I do wish they had cast an Afghan for the role of Al (the actor is a South African of Indian heritage) to be more authentic. An interview with either the actor or the show creators suggested it was hard to cast narrowly for a role they felt required experience and some other qualities. They may be right but maybe they should have cast a little closer to home. The show has gotten some controversy, with pushback from Afghan activists that it may not properly show the Afghan experience, though some of the criticism has been based partly on the trailer Similar to "Mom" and some other sitcoms, it's a comedic show with some heavy elements, including Riley being a Marine with PTSD and Al and Riley having gone through some harrowing experiences in Afghanistan Also, I rather liked Riley's estranged wife Vanessa and she only had one scene I think. There were some weighty topics in that discussion between the two of them
  10. CBS comedy by Chuck Lorre, Thursday’s, 8:30pm, premiered last night. About a former Marine who was stationed in Afghanistan struggling to work through issues while welcoming his Afghan interpreter who he got into the US I thought the pilot and the cast were pretty charming, including the guy playing Al, while awkward and kind of shaky as is usual for a pilot. There are several Afghan writers on staff and Afghan actors in the cast, though Al is played by an Indian actor
  11. It appears to be streaming on Hulu if you have that, as well as at ABC.com
  12. I’m not sure they are state run, but there are places that will allow birth parent and adoptee to find each other if both are willing. They each give information and if there’s a match both parties are informed. That may be what Maggie is using. I’m adopted and did something like that but nothing has come of it yet and I’m not willing to look on my own without knowing if my birth parents want to be found. I think the “clearinghouse” is associated with the state adoption agency that handled my adoption, but I’m not sure how close the association is
  13. I was totally surprised about Marcel’s history. I didn't know the actor was Iranian American and figured with that accent Marcel was a Black or biracial American New Orleans native. This is the second time in a few weeks that one of the shows I watch has revealed a character’s Iranian heritage with the actor being at least partially Iranian (Dr. Sharp on New Amsterdam). I don’t think we had a resolution to Goodwin’s son making a bad recommendation to using a device off label to grab the bullet With the patient with the broken arm, I totally called it being the husband the minute he told Dr. Charles he was having sleep issues In the story of the woman being a surrogate for her daughter, it seems both Will and Ethan were right and wrong about the case, but Will ended up making the right call with the final thing they tried. I figured the daughter was being abusive towards her mom.
  14. It was funny that Katie and Greg were all happy for Anna Kat and Franklin’s engagement (albeit with the wedding 15 years from now), but when Taylor and Trip revealed theirs, they were immediately on guard and hostile And yes, there was definitely a lot happening at the end
  15. Entertaining episode with a lot of changes, especially in relationships. I was not expecting the engagements, especially with the kids, and I was surprised the parents took that so well
  16. Good doc and I felt bad for the passengers and crew. They were stuck on a ship in the early days of the pandemic when there was so little known about the virus, including that asymptomatic people could pass the virus. Shocking the US passengers weren’t evacuated until Day 27. The poor Indonesians were stuck until Day 40 or so. There have many several nightmare events on cruise ships over the years and this adds to the pile This was about 40 minutes long and I almost wish it was 90 minutes or 2 hours long
  17. "The Hollywood Con" - Someone pretends to be a Hollywood executive http://thefutoncritic.com/listings/20210326abc03/&date=03/31/2021&filter=premieres
  18. As a big fan of the book series as a child, I was and continue to be pretty unhappy that this CW series made Nancy not the biological child of Carson and his late wife and that they are currently on the outs. The relationship between Carson and Nancy in the books was one of the best things in that book series (plus in the ABC series as well)
  19. Renewed for not 1, not 2, but for 3 more seasons http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2021/03/30/cbs-renews-number-1-comedy-young-sheldon-for-three-more-seasons-665211/20210330cbs04/
  20. Premieres April 13, 2021 at 9pm ET
  21. I think it helps to not have the same coaches every season (Fall or Spring) so welcome news on that front
  22. The show will return with new episodes April 19
